Best base spot ?!

Hi guys,

 

I'm new to the game and have noticed that it takes some time to build a base.

Do you have a good base spot for me or does it really matter where you build?

I built my 1st main base right beneath the starting point of the game. I chose this spot because it's very close to tube/table coral, acid mushrooms/spores, bladder/peeper fish, stalker teeth, and it's pretty much in the center of the map. Very colorful view and fairly safe for a sanctuary.

I built my base in the red grass area, south-south west. Not only is it very pretty and safe, you can also explore the cave nearby and it’s pretty much in the middle of everything.

Head about 500 meters south-by-southwest from your lifepod and you'll find a wide open space, near the main three biomes, and right beside a thermal vent. I think it's a great spot for a main base, easy farming of most required resources and loads of room for a moonpool and vertical stacking if you want it. I'm less concerned with proximity to plants or fish because you can farm your own on the base itself pretty easily.
