Such a great game

Actually, it does. They opted for that one instead. I DID buy the game at full price. Besides, that is a really bad marketing strategy. More likely to piss people off with that thinking

I really wish that they would release a sequel. I know a few months ago they wanted to. But opted to remake The Last Of Us instead. Still hoping for a sequel soon

Sony Bend is working on a new IP. They had a team helping Naughty Dog with an upcoming multiplayer game, possibly tied to The Last of Us (Factions) but they had nothing to do with the remake for The Last of Us. That was Sony's Visual Arts Service Group's initiative and had nothing to do with Bend.

TLOU remake has nothing to do with Days Gone sequel. It just didn’t sell enough at launch. As the former director for the game recently said in an interview if you want a sequel, then buy a game at full price. Waiting for a sale doesn’t do them any good.

If the former director wants people to buy his game’s at launch, perhaps he should have put more effort into launching a polished, bug free game.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved Days Gone. But a big part of the reason it didn’t do as well as it should have was because initial reviews were lacklustre, in part because of the rampant bugs, glitches, and graphical problems that gave off an impression of an unfinished and untested game.

It’s really a damn shame too. Like I said earlier in this thread, I was aware of the reception of this game at launch and wasn’t that interested in it as a result. When I finally got around to buying a copy and playing it, this game surprised me as one of the best PS4 exclusives out there and one of the most fun platinum journeys I’ve had to date.

In retrospect I really think this game could have done much better than it did. It took people awhile to catch on, but now that they have I think it definitely deserves a sequel. I would buy Days Gone 2 at launch without question.

This game is still sitting on my backlog. I’m having to pick between Days Gone and Watch Dogs as my next big open world game. I may just pick Days Gone.

But here’s the thing. If this former director wanted his product to sell better, then he should of focused more on polishing the game. Take care of those apparent glitches and bugs. Hire some play testers to play the game months in advance. Having that input helps out tremendously.

I paid full price for Assassin’s Creed Origins, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, God of War 2018 and Marvel’s Spider-Man. The full $60 price tag for each, plus an additional $20 - 40 for the Season Pass for all except God of War, because that doesn’t have one.

I was skeptical on Days Gone, so I waited until the end of 2019. Bought it for $20 off of eBay.

These developers hold just as much blame for releasing half assed products. You release a game in a shitty state, people are going to catch word of it on social media and find other games. Just look at what happened to Cyberpunk 2077.

Video games, like most everything else, have become corporatized. I’m thankful that Days Gone has free DLC, but that doesn’t change the initial reception that many people didn’t think too highly of this game when it released.

Putting resources into a The Last of Us remake couldn’t be any more pointless.

Just started Days Gone and I think if they had delayed the game to be a ps5 launch title it would have done so much better. This game kinda feels like the Mad Max game but a lot more fun to play. Deacon sounds like a psychopath when he talks to himself though lol I recognized his voice actor because he sounded like Starkiller.

I really enjoyed this game when it came out. The only criticism I agreed with was the slow start (didn't get great for me until 20-30 hours in) and the fact that you don't fight your first horde until pretty late in the game. The characters were a little cliché, but I thought they had some charm and the game was fun as hell. Looking forward to replaying this on PS5 on my new profile. 😁

I loved this game, slow paced or fast paced, lots of equipment or hardly any.. this game was so enjoyable from start to finish. I’d play this again for sure if it got a new trophy list for PS5 😁🤣

Same here. It's one of those games that I want to replay with a new trophy list and one that I keep rewatching some cutscenes from, from time to time. And the only game that made me like characters I strongly disliked at first. Also, Lisa's story... Gets me every time. Really hoping for a sequel at some point.

Nah, Lisa is the very worst part of the game.

She worked exactly like those unimportant mute background characters in The Walking Dead that outta nowhere are suddenly important to the plot because... reasons.

Oh man... and talk about misery porn. Just horrible writing.

Don't get me wrong though, I could already go for another playthrough 'cause the gameplay is dope.

Looks pretty good on PS5, enjoying it a lot more. Still have the occasional frame drop when running on resolution mode especially the segments to watch the colonel speeches. You can see his movements lagging. Don't know what's causing it.

Would had been fun if could play with friend, maybe he could be boozer. But yeah story is built as a single player experience.

Too bad probably not see a sequel.

Loved the game and miss it. Good and fun experience. Encourage others to play and be their own judge. A Days Gone sequel may not be soon but mark my words it will be revisited sometime in the future.
