Update a Trophy List

@Beyondthegrave07 Just letting ya know, when the site scans the new Biped trophyset, it's HK. I got the developers to publish a non-syncable list. The other set is still unknown.

Are you sure it's Hong Kong, not generic Asia?

JP, not Asia: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/13802-ponpu

Asia: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/13806-alchemist-adventure

It's possible, though other Asian regions have different titleids from the HK one, but I guess someone could check the Japan/Thailand versions' updates.

Checked their updates. All other regions share the Western trophyset. HK is on its own. Third set with no owners is supposedly China, but no evidence of that.

I searched and saw this wasn’t asked before, but I see the Kemco RPGs aren’t in a series collection, while the physical disc compilations are. Shouldn’t it be that all the individual games are in a series, with each game as “Stage 1, 2, 3…,” and the disc compilations together in “No Stage?”

I ask this because the Kairosoft Strategy/Simulator games are in “The Kairo Collection” (which is really nice because some of them have turned out to only show up on the JP store so far) although they are an anthology series (same creator but different setting) as opposed to a chronological series.

This isn’t a series here yet but there are actually two entries in the Aqua Kitty series according to the dev:

the first being Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender DX, followed by the recently released Astro Aqua Kitty. As you can see here on the developer’s website, the same breed of Astro Kitty cats from Milk Mine Defender have launched into space in this newer game.

On the topic of Psychonauts, I believe Rhombus of Ruin should be moved out of the "No Stage" category and put into Stage 2. The game is set directly after Psychonauts 1, and the events of it are referenced frequently in Psychonauts 2.

a number of Kemco RPGs have a dedicated series where appropriate and the meta updates pending for others, some dedicated series are Revenant, Asdivine, and Alphadia Genesis. The Kemco library can be seen under the publisher page but is pending updates of metadata to fully complete the list.

a mistake that happens from time to time.

seems reasonable enough to implement

I've done some looking into this myself and have added the (unreleased) moniker the appropriate title. Other unreleased titles should come up by searching (unreleased) in the search feature.

One day I hope we can search games by region. It'd be nice to see all the China or South Korean trophysets. That said, what site does PSNProfiles use to fetch publisher data/release dates for games? I've noticed a few games with 1970 release date, so would be nice to fix that.

Just an FYI, https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/6368-魔物獵人frontier-g-unreleased was technically released, but accidentally via a Vita update. It was removed in further patches, but it was there. it's a situation much like PS Home dev, where the trophyset exists in the retail game, but cannot be loaded by normal usage.

Metadata comes from IGDB. IGDB, from time to time, changes how they format things, one of those being dates. This is why some meta pulls are in a different date format than others. If the pull is broken in some way, the date will default to 1970 and just needs to be rescanned to fix the issue. As much as I might like to be able to manually write in metadata, we cannot and must use a 3rd party site. Sly's choice, not mine, but we have to work with what we have.

That being said, anyone can create a metadata page on IGDB, but what you submit has to be approved by their staff, meaning that there is a wait period. IGDB also doesn't require a lot of information to be submitted to be approved, which is why some games have basically nothing to show, while others have a great deal of information. Anyway, I typically handle metadata discussions through private messages exclusively because there is quite a lot still and I would prefer that this thread not be flooded with thousands of messages about it. Anyone can help if they want to, and should you like to help in metadata coverage, please send me a message through the messenger.

I am aware of a lot of the quirks surrounding a lot of games, including this one. However, we have no uniform notation to cover such cases and (unreleased) is a good blanket term to cover these occurrences. It satisfies the question about why something scanned in has no earners that many people have, and should they like to, can then search for further information about it online.  Typically, anything marked this way has a different reason pertaining to it that caused it to end up as it did. We have played around with the idea of using a (delisted) moniker but decided against it due to confusion it would likely cause.

Thanks for the in-depth response! :) And yeah I noticed a 1970 date for https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/1151-hydrophobia. I'll look into contributing to IGDB if I get the chance. I've already made a good amount of contributions to GameFAQs' release information, so I expect it to be more of the same.

As for Unreleased games, https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/6955-project-nimbus-code-mirai was never officially released. JoinTheClub has it due to his contacts in the industry (as such with NBA Playgrounds 2 and Tutorial Shooting). https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/7645-nba-playgrounds-2 and https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/2167-tutorial-shooting-game were never officially released either, although it does have earners. That brings an interesting question then: If a game was never released, but has owners, should it still be classified as "unreleased"? https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/11776-sackboy-a-big-adventure and https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/11775-destruction-allstars for example. They're developer-only releases, so never released to the public. There is a third dev-only set JZ4B9IR.png, but I think either you or someone else said that wouldn't be added here, even though it has owners?

Well anyway, thank you for your response. I'll be sure to look into the metadata stuff :D

If you meed more information in how exactly the relationship between PSNP and IGDB works, please send me a message and I can explain. There is a nuance about it.

I am well aware of these games and circumstances. Afterall, I am the one that researches every game in the database to overhaul its asset data that is missing and fix issues on the back end. However, the difference here and why they do not have the (unreleased) monkier is simply because they have earners/owners. Which in terms of stats, matters a lot. If it is easier to understand, anything with (unreleased) might be removed at some point from the database, but anything with an earner/owner will not. This moniker has been around for a year or so, but has not been brought up until I mentioned it.

I seem to recall that we used to be able to notate "regions" that ultimately got removed in an update. One such tag I want to say covered the scenario that is a developer list and was notated as DEV, but it has been a long time and I might be misremembering. From memory though, I am pretty sure we had a Taiwan tag, but it was effectively replaced with the Chinese tag instead.

Sackboy was going to be removed at the same time that the presumed Hardware: Rivals test list was removed, along with other dev test lists that came with the PS5. There were roughly, I think, 16-20 that got removed, but might be a bit of a high estimate. It has been a long time since that discussion internally. The topic was breeched to remove other games as well at the time (those noted with the unreleased tag) but hasn't been revisited since. That was probably 9 months ago since then.

Anyway, because Sackboy had an earner at that time, Sly did not remove it.

Now, I have commented on the topic of reimplementing it. Someone explicitly tagged Mango that he should reimplement it, and I explained that Mango had no such ability. Only Sly can reinstate something he has removed, and the GIT team doesn't know if it is even doable. Plausibly, it should be, it is just data afterall and we already recieved it once before. However, Sly has never reinstated something he previously removed and so we simply don't know. We can't really do anything about it, only Sly can. So, can the list for Hardware: Rivals be brought back? Probably. But will it be, hard to say.

Any chance you can ask them the regions for the lists? I believe we still have Japan and Korea floating out there that we don't know what they're tied to.

Thanks for the response. And yeah, I assume the TW tag got replaced since trophylists exclusive for that region are so rare. Off the top of my head is Knights of Valour. But yeah, at the time, Title/Hardware's owners weren't public, so it made sense to remove them. But hopefully it can be reinstated one day, although I doubt that's going to be priority anytime soon. One question though: If you research most every game on here, have you found any information for https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/2416-シェリルノーム超時空ヴァーチャルクリップ射手座午後九時dont-be-late ? It's something I've tried looking into for years now, but all I can figure out is that it was disc-only, with no information on its release.

Japan/Korea would be shared with Western. Their updates can verify this, as they share the same trophyset. HK was the only one to have a separate list, with the third being created by mistake. Now...there is a Chinese titleid for the game, but it was never released in that region. But I assume that could be it? I'm not sure how the trophy creation process works on Devnet, but maybe it auto-attaches the trophyset to a titleid, even if it never gets released. It'd explain why Project Nimbus DEV, PS Home DEV, among others, have a content-id (as seen on SerialStation), although they were never officially released.

Well, there is a 3rd as you stated, though we assumed it was Japan based on the release date at the time: https://www.(URL not allowed)/game/Biped-Japanese/trophies

Will look into it.

As for Sheryl Nome, the translated name (I believe I got it right) should give a good hint:
Sheryl Nome: Choujikuu Virtual Clip ~Iteza*Gogo Kuji Don't be late~

English: Sheryl Nome Super Dimensional Virtual Clip Sagittarius 9 PM Don't Be Late

It likely was planned to be included with a Hybrid Disk, but the Serial on it doesn't start with 9, so that means it was meant to be a standalone release. Which points us to Macross 30, which has the Serials of BLJS-10182 and BLJS-10184 (with Sheryl Nome being BLJS-10183). If I had to guess, this was meant to be included as some sort of promotion with Macross 30, which featured Sheryl Nome (and most of the Macross universe). The song itself though is from Macross Frontier, and it appears to be a promotional fan disk with her performing on stage where you can modify the costumes and camera views which was somewhat common at the time.

Just seems like something cancelled before full release, unfortunately.

Yeah, the theory was a hybrid disk like you mentioned, or a game given out a convention. I can believe it was cancelled, but then that leaves the question as to why Xilonen owns it, and why there are at least 8-9 other (unknown) owners of the game. Sure, some could be devs, but still.
