Gaming By Numbers 2021 (Event Ended - Badges Dispersed)

Working on "8" right now, my next platinum will be Adventures of Mana! I am farming the werewolves on the airship, much faster than the stupid elephants I farmed last time and give about the same amount of EXP. Hopefully I'll hit Level 99 tonight and get that platinum soon after since I will have to continue the story, since the airship is only haflway through the story.

last two games were Salt and Sanctuary and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

 

Salt and Sanctuary is a 2D souls Game which is pretty nicely made! I wouldn’t recommend it on Vita since I hade some bigger Framedrops (nothing too bad but I notice it several times). It is sometime really confusing we’re to go and if you not the one talking to NPC because you are not following a guide you miss trophies and the possibility to proceed (looking at the marks here). It is also more plattforming then expected. If you like those things I can recommend it.

 

And now to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. A brilliant game and really enjoyable on the PS5. Grafic was top notch and gameplay with the weapons was really fun. If you enjoyed the rest of the franchise you cant do something wrong with the game. The dimension shifting was also really well implemented in the game but in my opinion only in a few of the planets were they showed what good level design can look like. For me it doesnt matter if it was a shorter experience of 12-14 hours since I sell new games on disc fast that I only pay half of the price and with this i really don’t mind the Price at all. 

 

As always and every year thanks to @eigen-space for organizing the event and putting so much effort and time in this. Also thanks to @Spacey Dweeb for the badge and @Jens for updating the excel file! (Hope I didn’t forget anyone, if yes, shame on me)

2nd game done I was really worried about this one. I had to complete 10 missions and get a high point value for killing enemies fast and with style. Seemed impossible at first but while the earlier missions were difficult and i repeated them 1 to 2.5 hours with better skills both in game and real life the later missions were completed within 30 mins...

Last week was pretty normal for me. I finished the last trophy in Tiny Troopers, and then worked on Mass Effect 2. I actually finished the whole thing in a single week, which is quite a lot of gaming. I had been playing Ni No Kuni 2 before this event started. Initially, the plan was to finish it after, but I decided I wanted to take care of it while I remember what's going on and how the systems work etc. I am going to play it this week and will probably finish the platinum before moving on to something else, so I put that on my list in place of my previous choice.

Just finished my #9, Vacation Simulator! This was a fantastic game and an amazing follow-up to Job Simulator. If you have a VR, get this game for sure!

I finally did it. Got the plat for Tropico 5. Was on my backlog and I am glad I got it done. Didn't have the DLC's so it is not a %100 but that's okay. All of you are going so fast I can't keep up with you . I will do my best to catch up for sure.

Just finished up with the final grind in Dark Cloud 2! This is a game that's been sitting in my unfinished list for coming up on five years now. At the time, I just couldn't focus on the game and found that keeping track of all the missable trophies was a real drag. But after more than 100 hours, I can finally hang up this ancient PS2 relic. It was a fun, wholesome little romp. Some frustrating moments, but otherwise I had a good, chill time with it.

 

I'm moving on to GTA V which is my other big chunk of this list. Definitely not going for the big Heist DLC trophies, so I'm glad I can just get the platinum and call it square. My time playing the PS2 games recently wasn't very pleasant. I'd say I had the most fun with San Andreas but even still, oof. Different time.

Finished up Drive Girls tonight! I'm really starting to get some momentum going in this event now! The game was....ok. I just find enjoyment in finding niche Vita titles to play lol.

I should be done with this event by today. I know the Vita version of the game I just platinumed, Fifty Words by POWGI, has a URL ending in 3. Guess this is the easiest event ever. I wish I could have put a halfway decent game in this list but there are so many darn easy games out there today!!! X(

 

If I participate in the 2022 event, I swear I will prep some GOOD games for it, not this EZPZ crap.

I only went back recently to finish up the ten online games. I was over half way through them but getting the right matches took time. Then it just left the one trophy that should not be on the list as I think the 700 point trophy is dumb as any opponent AI or real you need to have like 40 cards in the other hands when you go out and do that in two straight hands. It is a fun game to just kill time with though.

 

My game this time is Fat Princess Adventures. Another slow grind match 3 game that was free for the vita. It is slow because the servers are closed so there are no power ups left to get.

To be fair, no one forced you to play EZPZ games for the event. It was your decision in the end.

 

This event is only as easy or as hard as you want it to be which can lead to a lot of interesting games or stacking the same game 3 times. I personally feel like playing EZPZs for the event is the same as buying a badge and ruins the fun of the event, but that's just me. Everyone is free to do as they want. It's not for me to say what people can/can't play.

 

Started Goose game and hoping to finish it while I'm off work the next couple of days, but we'll see how that goes.

I was about to post something similar - personally I've only played 2 games this event so far, both of which are 50-100 hours to plat. There's a good chance I'll play some shorter/easier games by the end but with almost unlimited options on what to play it's very much personal how hard the event is

Agreed 100%. I don't find the event fun if I pre-prep plats or go for ezpzs (I don't really like ezpzs in general) but everyone can do the event as they please. That's why this is the only event I ever join. I'm not penalized for not playing ezpz games and can go at my own pace

Goose Game, Wooo. My kids loved watching me play that one, and  it pretty fun and unique to boot too. Except for those 6 min speed runs for each area, they can die.

The first two are not so bad. The back gardens is pain because the newspaper guy tosses back anything you collect if he notices you and that level has alot of collecting. The pub has two people that will kick you around and avoiding them while still making time is the challenge. There is also the challenge of getting the seat steal just right, which that one was what usually threw my speed run off.

I didn't personally think they were that bad. The last few might take a few attempts but I never felt like it was hopeless at any point!

There is still a lot of time left in this event. I usually make a list of multiple games for each number on my end so I have options then gage what I really want to play first or cleanup trophies on. When/if I start to run out of time at the end, I'll usually swap in some easier games. At the end of the day though, it's whatever people want to challenge themselves with. I know someone tried to do all Lego games for this one year....I wouldn't recommend that...

That's it, I am done. The list is complete. I wish it had better games but what can you do? If I had known about the "First Come, First Served" rule, I would have planned this better. At least I got it done way early. I'll try better next year.
