Popular Post Xylobe
Just realized I wrote out an update yesterday but forgot to actually click post... 0 - The Gardens Between (8200) 1 - Timespinner [Vita] (8221) 2 - Persona 5 Royal [EU] (10572) 3 - Stardew Valley (5673) 4 - Control [PS5, NA] (12184) 5 - Hades [PS5] (13635) 6 - Manifold Garden [PS5] (12906) 7 - NieR Replicant (617) 8 - Scarlet Nexus [PS5] (13198) 9 - Phoenotopia: Awakening (13319) And that makes 10! I picked up Timespinner in the giant sale that started this week, and didn't even realize there was a Vita version, much less that it counted for the last number I needed. It's a very good metroidvania, not quite on the level of Phoenotopia, but the art and music were excellent. My main complaint is that despite being themed around time travel, the implementation is skin deep and underexplored. All in all, my list is quite different from what I set out with, but I'm quite happy with it regardless. Thanks for putting on such a fun event, and to everyone else who participated!
Popular Post Cassylvania
Hubris. That's what this is. Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
I forgot to update last week. I normally do it on Mondays on a break at work, but I got busy again. I'm doing it a day early this week though since I am bored right now. I was hoping to be done by now, and maybe I could have been if I didn't start two new games since my last update. I have been waiting for Hades ever since I first heard it announced with Epic exclusivity. During the lead up to that, I suddenly needed to make sure I had all of Super Giant Games' platinums and started up Bastion too. Bastion is very close to platinum, so I decided it would be best to put it on my GBN list since Immortals Fenyx Rising is pretty far away from platinum still and Bastion fills the same number. I'm close on both of the remaining platinums now. I didn't want to finish so late into the event. but here we are. I don't do well with sticking to my video game plans. To Do: Tah Done!
Popular Post Grotz99
With Mass Effect 3 completed on Insanity, that completes the Mass Effect Legendary Edition for me and completes the last entries for this event. Was worried for a bit that I wouldn't be able to complete all 10 games as Mass Effect 3 was longer than I remember, but I had a good amount of free time this weekend. It was a different experience going through the Mass Effect trilogy one game after another instead of waiting for each one to release like the last time I played them. Each game improved on the previous with quality of life adjustments, except for the stupid nade spam in Mass Effect 3... Playing on insanity difficulty wasn't too bad in the first 2 games, but there was definitely some frustrating parts in ME3, like where you had to fight 3 or 4 Geth primes at once. Thank you so much for running this event again, this will add another great looking badge I can put in the my signature . 0 - Mass Effect Legendary Edition (12900) ? 1 - Mass Effect (12901) 2 - Concrete Genie (9762) 3 - PGA Tour 2K21 (11233) 4 - Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls (6194) 5 - The Banner Saga (4205) 6 - Day of the Tentacle Remastered (4456) 7 - Stick it to the Man (2587) ? 8 - Mass Effect 3 (12908) 9 - Mass Effect 2 (12909)

Popular Post Briste
Finished up my 10th game during the event and another unacceptably numbered game tonight in Mount & Blade: Warband. Even though it doesn't count for my badge, I wanted to add it here for posterity anyways. This game is definitely not for everyone, but I loved almost everything this game is about. If you love Medieval inspired, campaign war styled, RPG games, this just might be your cup of tea. I was originally playing this game for a milestone trophy pop and then was going to get back to a GBN relevant title, but I just enjoyed this one so much that I stuck with it until I eat it. I'll have to scour my backlog to see if I have a couple of shorter games so I can at least make my badge respectable. Congrats to everyone that has finished so far! 0 - The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series / NeverEnd / Jotun 1 - 2 - Torchlight 2 3 - The Bridge / Celeste / Secret of Mana 4 - 5 - LEGO Ninjago Movie: The Video Game / Mount & Blade: Warband 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - World Wrestling Entertainment 2K Battlegrounds

Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Finally completed, with only a few days left. Last game was "1" with Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. After Ratchet, 2 LEGO games and Jak and Daxter, I may have overdosed on collect-a-thon platformers. Sly was quite a slog to go thru. I can see why the series has not received another entry. It is slow and repetitive. And for a game with cut scenes and voice overs, it kind of made no sense and was pretty forgettable. Again, this judgement may be due to the whole overdosing on platformers. With all 10 games completed, I managed to keep to my goal of satisfying all 10 numbers with only PS3 games. This helped do some damage to my PS3 backlog. 0 - 1250 - Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy 1 - 1831 - Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time 2 - 62 - WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania 3 - 1823 - Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear 4 - 884 - No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise 5 - 1475 - Lollipop Chainsaw 6 - 1966 - Ratchet: Deadlocked 7 - 2467 - South Park: The Stick of Truth 8 - 218 - LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues 9 - 1729 - LEGO The Lord of the Rings Thanks for hosting the event. Popular Post ladynadiad
0 - Sparkle 2 (PS4) 1 - Metropolis: Lux Obscura (NA Vita) 2 - Norman's Great Illusion (NA Vita) 3 - Pic-A-Pix Color 2 (NA PS4) 4 - Portal of Evil: Stolen Runes (NA PS4) ✔️ 5 - Gaps by POWGI (NA PS4) 6 - Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk 7 - Kotodama 8 - Children of Morta 9 - Legends of Talia: Arcadia (NA PS4) All done! Was going to do Flower for number 9 but I found out the game gives me motion sickness if I play too long. Thanks to that, the chances of me finishing it by the end up the month weren't great. So I went through the spreadsheet to try and find something I didn't own that I could potentially finish in less than a week and saw someone else had the NA PS4 stack of Legends of Talia for that number and grabbed that since it's only $3 and pretty short. No skipping from me though, I actually read it all the way to the end and it wasn't bad at all. Nothing amazing but a good enough read. If anyone else is still scrambling for a few last minute titles and needs a 9 it's not a bad choice since it's short and not pricey even without a sale.

I also got it from Life is Strange and What Remains of Edith Finch. First person POV and realistic graphics seem to be enough to cause it for me and while Flower is third person, since it's not a person but a flower petal it seemed to also be enough. I'm fine if I keep the game sessions short, but it definitely makes finishing games like those take longer since it's harder to finish a game in a timely manner when you can only play a half an hour a day. Definitely think games should be warning about the potential for motion sickness as well so players can know what games to keep the play sessions short on, or avoid entirely. Popular Post Evil_Joker88
And i have completed 10 games in order from 0 to 9 and no I had to ditch my plan of completing MGS Ground Zeroes to get another UR completion title but i didn't do enough progress and changed to Whispering Willows (spot #8) instead. A nice 2D puzzle adventure. A girl is looking for her dad and is walking through a haunted mansion. The game is a bit depressing with the background story of how the new American people dealt with the native American people. But i liked the story of the game. And last but not least one really easy game called Licky the lucky Lizard lives again (spot #9). Funnily the game is called Licky the Lucky lives again in the german PSN Shop A Lizard is jumping upwards infinitely until he's killed by lava it took a few tries to get 30k points but wasn't too bad at all. The animation was quite funny as the Lizard can stretch his tongue and stick to stone platforms floating around to catapult himself upwards 0 - The Unfinished Swan 1 - Call of Juarez: Gunslinger 2 - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons 3 - Tachyon Project 4 - Anodyne 5 - The Vanishing of Ethan Carter 6 - Castle Invasion 7 - Stick it to the Man 8 - Whispering Willows 9 - Licky the lucky Lizard lives again Now i can unlock the 5 i have prepared Thank you @eigen-space for hosting this event again and @Jens for helping her with the updates Edited August 28, 2021 by Evil_Joker88
Popular Post Geridian
Hi all, finished my last two games for the full badge minutes ago. 0 - MASS EFFECT: LEGENDARY EDITION (PS4) 1 - Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 (PS4) 2 - Mega Man Legacy Collection (PS4) - Life is Strange 2 (PS4) 3 - I Am Alive (PS3) 4 - SBCG4AP Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner (PS3) 5 - SBCG4AP Episode 4: Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective (PS3) 6 - SBCG4AP Episode 5: 8-Bit Is Enough (PS3) 7 - SBCG4AP Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free (PS3) 8 - MASS EFFECT 3 (PS4) 9 - Tales of Hearts R (PSVita) As written some time ago, I switched MMLC1 for LiS2 because I was no longer in the mood to concentrate on the challenges with knowing that the event deadline coming near and one game still to finish. Resumed playing ToHR from an old savegame years ago where I just arrived at Mount Bremen in NG+. This time I was able to complete the "Namcoin Classic Collection" (missed one Namcoin on NG and where not able to find out where I missed it) and did not only get the "Balloonatic" trophy, but also got the "Pop Star" title for all characters in the end. Rest of the trophies was not much of a problem, not counting in that I lost to "Unknown Creed" the first time while he only had 5000 HP or so left. LiS2 had an interesting story, but enjoyed episodes 3 and 4 the most. Wanted to play "Captain Spirit" before I started with LiS2, but since "Captain Spirit" is not playable on PS5 and I was not in the mood to switch rooms and start playing this game on PS4 I skipped playing "Captain Spirit". Thanks to the organisators for hosting this event and thanks to all of you for your updates. Have fun with your games and stay healthy!
Popular Post Cassylvania
Bwahaha! My ultimate troll is complete. You thought I was actually going to play a popular game to finish off my list, but it was all a ruse. My final game for this event is... 0 - Kingdom: Two Crowns (8540) 1 - Crossing Souls (7171) / Ys: Memories of Celcetta (2291) / Deiland (7581) 2 - Wargroove (9412) 3 - Lair of the Clockwork God (11603) 4 - Trigger Witch (13444) 5 - Phantom Doctrine (8025) 6 - Banner of the Maid (11256) 7 - Space Otter Charlie (12417) 8 - Monster Sanctuary (11858) 9 - Toren (3569) / Shadow Tactics (6429) / Stranded Deep (10719) I SEE YOU GOOGLING IT! Bwahaha! That's my new trademark laugh. Bwahaha. OK, so Trigger Witch and Charlie were August 2021 releases. They might end up more popular than they are now, but I was running out of ideas. And time. Mostly time. So, which of these relatively unknown games are actually worth playing? Well, three of them are similar to popular Nintendo franchises. Banner of the Maid is very much like the Fire Emblem series and is honestly one of the better turn-based strategy games I've played. Monster Sanctuary is a lot like Pokemon and is actually very good and original in its own way. Wargroove is like Advance Wars and...yeah, I didn't care for that one. Just like Phantom Doctrine, which is trying to be an XCOM clone, it's a good concept executed poorly and way too tedious to be considered fun. If you like the 80's and can stand the cheesiness, Crossing Souls is worth playing. LotC is legitimately funny. The problem with KTC is it plays too much like the original to be considered a new game. Play one but not both. Trigger Witch is a decent twin-stick shooter. A bit on the easy side. SOC was cute. Also a bit on the easy side. Either of those games would be fine on a sale. Toren can suck on a watermelon. (And while they didn't count for the event, here are my thoughts on the other four games I finished. Ys: MoC was decent. Liked it way more than Ys: Origins. Deiland may very well be the worst game I've ever played. Shadow Tactics was AMAZING. Best game I played this summer by far. Highly recommended for all strategy and stealth fans. Stranded Deep was OK, but there are better survival games out there. Might I suggest The Long Dark?) Thanks for another fun year! I think GbN has become my favorite community event on this site. I know these themes-within-themes are optional and literally nobody else does it, but it's always neat to play a few games, see what they have in common, and then try to find entries for the remaining numbers that fit. Maybe next year I'll play ten AAA games. Bwa. Ha ha. Fat chance.

Popular Post Briste
There's an outside chance I just might get this done! I finished up 2064: Read Only Memories last night, which actually gets me a number I need with an '8'. The game was actually pretty fun. I didn't have much in the way of expectations going into it...it was just a PS+ game from my backlog with a number I could use so I booted it up. It's a nice little point and click style game with retro graphics with a decent story and some good comedy thrown in there. If it's sitting in your backlog from PS+, it's worth a play. I have Dragon Age: Origins teed up for my '7' game. I have a quick non-plat game that I'm hoping to get done today for my '1' slot which only leaves the '6' and '4'... 0 - The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series / NeverEnd / Jotun 1 - Monopoly Plus 2 - Torchlight 2 3 - The Bridge / Celeste / Secret of Mana 4 - 5 - LEGO Ninjago Movie: The Video Game / Mount & Blade: Warband 6 - 7 - 8 - 2064: Read Only Memories 9 - WWE 2K Battlegrounds /edit So Monopoly Plus was way faster than I expected. I figured I'd teach my son how Monopoly was played while earning trophies for the event and got them all in just under an hour. He wasn't very interested in the buying in selling of property, but he did love the Dog piece...It's actually a decent monopoly game with several different 'house rules' available to play. If you're running out of time and need a '1'...Monopoly Plus is $4.99 right now and actually has some staying power if you ever wanted to play a game with your family. Popular Post InfinateEternity
Welp, two more down, and two to go with less than 48 hours remaining. The games labeled in green are the new additions. Both took less than 4 hours to plat, for those that may be looking for a 7 or an 8 and need something quick. 0. Drowning (NA - PS4) [8680] 1. 2. Mahjong Adventures (NA - PS4) [12922] 3. ? Big Dipper (NA - PS4) [11243] 4. Cinders (NA - PS4) [11354] 5. 6. Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire (NA - PS4) [13136] 7. Pretty Girls Panic! (NA - PS4) [13747] 8. The Complex (NA - PS4) [10508] 9. Legends of Talia: Arcadia (NA - PS4) [12669] Of the two though, I personally enjoyed The Complex much more. FMVs (when done well) are an upgraded version of a visual novel in my opinion, and can be very enjoyable. As a film / story, the premise of The Complex was much more interesting than The Bunker or Late Shift, in my opinion, and had better character development and visuals than both of those FMVs as well. While The Complex does have points where some additional plot exposition or better execution would have helped, (especially because some of the endings felt way too similar), it was still a decent B-movie-esque experience, that I don't regret. Though, fair warning, the subject matter of the film can be a trigger for some as it deals with human exploitation and corruption on multiple levels.
