Trophy Thoughts?

37 posts in this topic

Looks like the trophies have changed quite a bit from the original!

Gone:

- Long Service Medal (moved to trilogy)

- Distinguished Combat Medal

- Medal of Valor (moved to trilogy)

- Weapon Expert trophies

- Rich

- Dog of War (moved to trilogy)

- Geth Hunter (moved to trilogy)

- Power Gamer

- Extreme Power Gamer

- Romance (moved to trilogy)

New:

- Meritorious Service Medal

- Medal of Exploration II & III

Changed:

- Ally trophies now require 5 missions instead of "the majority of the game"

- Renegade & Paragon combined into a single trophy!

Reading between the lines, it looks like you may be able to platinum this in a single playthrough, rather than 2-3, which seems huge.

Yes duude really happy they snipped the need to do a second playthrough. Was about to skip this one remembering how much unnecessary work it was back then but now if we get to finish the trilogy with one insanity playthrough each game it will actually be an enjoyable ride for me at least. 🙂

Seems like a straightforward list compared to the original games at least. That being said, I hope more people will pick up on the series now since they updated a lot from the original games. Considering (at the very least) you do not need to complete Insanity for the platinum, it is nice to see they did not totally get rid of the option as you would still need to complete it across all 3 games for the 100%.

Well, the Mass Effect list has a trophy for finishing Bring Down the Sky (the Batarian DLC), not sure about the other ones.

I’m impressed that the new trophies match the style of the original list. I wonder if you can still earn XP multipliers and other passive bonuses since some of their corresponding trophies were removed?

No Insanity trophy? I'm in!

Insanity trophies for all 3 games are moved to the shared list, which is dubbed MASS EFFECT: LEGENDARY EDITION, together with all "Kill xyz number of enemies" and "Have romances in every game" trophies.

A. Insanity trophies, you need to play every game on insanity to get three trophies in the end. But there is no other difficulty related trophy, at least for ME1.

Spoiler

Insanity I
Complete Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3 on Insanity without changing difficulty

==> One (1) of three (3) games on Insanity!

Insanity II
Complete two games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Insanity without changing difficulty

==> Two (2) of three (3) games on Insanity!

Insanity III
Complete all three games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Insanity without changing difficulty

==> All three (3) games on Insanity!

B. Romantic relationship trophies, you need an active romance in the end at every game for three trophies combined.

>> Would be interested if it counts as an..

Spoiler

"Active romance" in ME 2 if Shepard stays true to Kaidan/Ashley..

, but my guess is "No". Or if a

Spoiler

rekindled romance with Liara counts in ME2 after the "Lair of the Shadow Broker".

But even for this, my guess is "No."

Spoiler

Paramour I
Establish a romantic relationship in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3
==> One (1) of three (3) games end with an active romance.

Paramour II
Establish or rekindle a romantic relationship in two games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition
==> Two (2) of three (3) games end with an active romance.

Paramour III
Establish or rekindle a romantic relationship in all three games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition
==> All three (3) end with an active romance.

C. Long Service Medal >> Simple description: Finish Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 with the same character

>> But do not know if it is okay to switch the class between all three games. I remember that this was at least possible between all games, but did never use it.

D. Kill related trophies, simple kill at least 2000 enemies in all three games combined to get three trophies.

>> Maybe(!)  you can simply do this in a spot at the beginning of ME 3, which is listed in the PS3 version's trophies guide, but i guarantee nothing!

Spoiler

Recruit

Kill 250 enemies in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

Soldier

Kill 1,000 enemies in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

Veteran

Kill 2,000 enemies in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

E. Bruiser >> Kill 100 enemies with melee attacks in all theree games combined.

>> It may be that in one of the three games is a special place to do 100 melee kills the easy way listed in an old trophy guide for ME 1 or ME 2?! Maybe "Savescumming" works also?!

Keep in mind everybody, that "Pinnacle Station" is not included also in the Legendary Edition's version of ME 1. This was also true for the PS3 version of ME 1, so only XBOX and PC version of ME 1 will ever have this piece of DLC available for playing. So in the end, one trophy for BDtS, but no Pinnacle Station.

Yes. Some things are going to be missable after certain points but, if you're careful, you'll be able to get it in one run.

It's been made considerably easier, leaving difficulty and the grind for DLC.

It's a great list, allowing to see most of what the trilogy has to offer.

Definitely good that there is less grinding involved and no need for NG++ to reach level 60.

I played the original on PC so unfamiliar with the original trophy list/requirements.

Would you not need at least a partial second playthrough to get the 25 ability use trophies since you cant play as a class that has access to all the Biotic and the Tech abilities or does it count if you use party members?

For example could you play as an Adept to get all the biotic related trophies and use Garrus for the Dampening 25 times trophy?

Insanity runs are easier with NG+, so if you want the special series wide trophies, you may need to play twice each game.

Looks good to me. I do not like when you need to play a game more than twice to get everything. I much rather prefer a one time play through. Never played the original games so I am looking forward to this. Sort of hesitant, as I am not into shooter games. It said RPG/shooter so I am hoping I will like this. Anything missable?

There will be a huge trophy (Master and Commander) in the third game that might / will require certain outcomes from the first two games as well. It originally involved the multiplayer component as well but I'm not sure if they have made changes to that this time since we don't get the multiplayer now. However it was doable even offline back then but required way more favourable outcomes from missions etc. I'm pretty sure they will touch that too since they seem to have planned the new trophies pretty well. The other trophy lists are not showing on this site yet for some reason.

This actually depends on if they switched ME1 to be like 2 and 3 where telling your squad mates to use their powers counts as you using them. If they did not, then NO. You will have to start at least a couple saves with different characters to spam the 25 uses of the abilities. If they did switch it to be like 2 and 3, then YES you can do it in one.

Archivist is miss-able if you don't fully explore and exhaust all talking options with certain people to unlock all the codex entries. That is really the only one. Everything else is basically just play the game.

Correct. Unless they changed it to be like ME2 and ME3 where it counts by telling your squad mates to use their powers. If they didn't make that change, then yes, you will have to make multiple characters to unlock those skill uses.

Will the trophies reguarding engineer and adept's powers be obtainable using teammates' powers? Because in the original game (and ME3), you can get those trophies ONLY if Shepards casts those powers. If it's not the case in LE, then a single run will do for the platinum.

However, I suggest to not begin with the Insanity difficulty right away (for the trophy in the extra list).

It was already confirmed in another thread, using teammates powers works for trophy in ME1.

Looks like the full list isn't up yet. There's going to be 4 total, one for the collection and one for each individual game, but it looks like only ME1 and the overall list is up as of writing this. Really weird that there's an overall trophy set though. Especially since it's such a joke. The only think you'll have to go out of your way to do, is an insanity run, which is easy on NG+ anyway. Seems like they just took out specific trophies from the plat lists to make it easier, but then threw them in as extras for those that care. Even though it looks like they could have just put them in each individual list. Not sure how I feel about there just being extra trophies that don't count towards an individual list.
