Build Tips for Farming Crowns

I’m new in MHW and I do not have Iceborne DLC installed

 

which weapon build is the fastest and best way to bring down those monsters?

 

currently I am using Heavy Bow Gun with Piercing Build 

 

I got Crowns only from Events Quest

Use the weapon that you are most comfortable with. Watch crown sniping videos on youtube so you have better idea how to measure. If it is not big or small enough, just leave the quest and repeat again.

If you're going for efficiency, then the most offensive build possible would be best. Great Sword, Heavy Bowgun, and Dual Blades are all high DPS weapons if you want to start practicing early with them. The Drachen set is probably the most offensive one in the base game but requires fighting the event monster Behemoth, which is a pain since it has so much health that you basically have to do it online and if the other hunters are inexperienced they'll frequently get KO'ed. Otherwise, you can easily just use the last Defender weapon and an armor set that is suited to the fight (i.e. Teostra/Lunastra set for fighting fire-type monsters, etc.) and still be fairly efficient. Crown sniping is the biggest way to be efficient though. Crowns can only be found at a 3-6% rate for certain investigations so don't bother fighting the ~90% of monsters that won't result in a crown or go towards other trophies. Also check which event quests can help get crowns at higher rates and use them as much as possible (basically for every other monster but Elder dragons and Black Diablos). Have fun!
