Sturmhauser
Hopefully there will be a collection of the first games also, like with Mass Effect.
Popular Post Auto-Tomato
Dead Space is one of the IPs I thought Sony should have gone after, an in house Sony DS would be far better than anything EA does with it, reimagining sends chills down my spine. I'd take a remaster collection but have next to no faith in anything new from EA.

JJTEY14
We already have the Callisto protocol coming out next year to hopefully give us our fix. I guess we wait and see if it’s anything worth while. Time will tell.

Should it have been a remaster or no? Any form of a new (single-player focused) game release from the IP is worthy of excitement. This reimagining idea could be the best approach for the series right now, especially considering the series Dead Space initially took inspiration from, Resident Evil, seen incredible success with the exact same format in 2019 (merely two years ago) with Resident Evil 2, which itself took inspiration from Dead Space. We don't know anything about the game to give an informed answer to that. I mean, this rumored reimagining could end up being the best entry in the series for all we know,
zizimonster
I'm in so long as it follows the template of the first two Dead Space titles.
dakk55
Dead Space is one of those games where a reimaging would help bring more of the old concept arts to life. As I recall, they had to cut some of the Necromorph designs due to time or game constraints. Having a newer engine and console would help bring them into the screen. On the other hand, I hope they go the RE2 type of reimagining over RE3. Frankly, an easier and cheaper way to see if the reimaging would work if EA remasters the DS series to the PS4/5. But you know... it's EA, they got a rap sheet a mile long of poor business decisions.

TheNarrator
Having both a Reimagining and some Remasters of the old games would probably satisfy the most fans. If a new one turns out to be good, thatll be great. If not, we'd still have the old ones to play

Rozalia1
Translation: Capcom have revitalised their games of this genre and so we know what to copy off them again. Perhaps a bit too harsh hehehe, but we'll see. Edited June 24, 2021 by Rozalia1
Popular Post Abby_TheLastofUs
Quote Dead Space is back. Visceral Games’ sci-fi survival horror classic, originally released in 2008, is being remade by Electronic Arts’ Motive studio, the publisher announced during Thursday’s EA Play Live digital showcase. The new Dead Space is coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. Motive is best known for its work on Star Wars Battlefront 2’s single-player campaign and Star Wars: Squadrons. The new Dead Space will be a remake, not a remaster, of engineer Isaac Clarke’s terrifying adventure aboard the USG Ishimura spaceship, Electronic Arts said. A teaser trailer shown during EA Play Live offered little in the way of detail, but the Dead Space remake appears faithful to the dark and gory original game that spawned a franchise. Quink666
Considering this is for current gen and PC only it has to be a remake. Atleast i hope so. EA saw Capcoms success with RE remakes and wanted in on the action. Can't wait to plat all 3 again. Edited July 22, 2021 by Quink666
Popular Post EcoShifter
Quote The sci-fi survival horror classic Dead Space returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studios to offer a deeper and more immersive experience. Harnessing the power of the Frostbite game engine and next generation consoles, this remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity and improvements to gameplay while staying true to the original. Dead Space will be available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Isaac Clarke is an everyman engineer on a mission to repair a vast, sprawling starship, the USG Ishimura, only to discover something has gone horribly wrong. The ship's crew has been slaughtered and infected by some alien scourge...and Isaac’s beloved partner, Nicole, is lost somewhere on board. Now Isaac is alone with only his tools and engineering skills as he attempts to uncover the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura. Trapped with hostile creatures called “necromorphs”, Isaac faces a battle for survival, not only against the escalating terrors of the ship, but his own crumbling sanity. Abby_TheLastofUs
4 minutes ago, XchocomanX said: Or the sheer amount of "surprise mechanics". The devs have already responded to this. ? Quote Reversing course from the controversial inclusion of microtransactions in Dead Space 3, the developers of the upcoming Dead Space remake have no intention of ever adding microtransactions to the game. Speaking to IGN ahead of the Dead Space trailer reveal, senior producer Phil Ducharme said the EA Motive team developing the remake was learning from some of the franchise’s past missteps and is ensuring the remake won’t look for ways to goose extra money out of players. Speaking to how the remake is learning from what came after the original Dead Space and finding natural ways to integrate some ideas into the original, Ducharme made it clear they would not be adding microtransactions. “We're looking at what can be taken and reinjected into the first game from a future standpoint. We're also learning from mistakes such as microtransactions, which we will not have, for instance, in our game,” Ducharme told IGN, confirming that they are developing it to “never” have microtransactions added to the experience. This move follows Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which made clear before its launch that the single-player experience would not have any microtransactions. The developers are, of course, looking for ways the future of the Dead Space franchise after the first game’s release can inspire this remake. Ducharme and Roman Campos Oriola pointed to examples such as the zero gravity sections in Dead Space 2, and using some of the advancements made their to apply to Dead Space 1 in the remake. The team is also looking at ways to integrate narrative touchpoints from later entries naturally into the story of Dead Space one, when perhaps the original devs didn’t have everything as laid out at the time. “For us, the foundation is the Dead Space 1 story. So, by default, that's what is canon. But then there are some improvements that we want to make to that story,” Campos Oriola said. “And not necessarily improvements because those things were not really working in the origina, more improvements because of what came after, and we're like, ‘Aw man, that's interesting if we could reference that, or if we could make a link to that.” The team is also keeping in mind the potential for the remake to open a whole new generation of fans to the original Dead Space, but they’re also using the remake as an opportunity to widen the player base via accessibility options not previously present. “Something that is also really important for us that was not there 12 years ago... is all those options or different ways to play the game if you need it. All those elements of accessibility will definitely be something important for us in terms of opening the Dead Space experience to a broader set of people that didn't necessarily have the opportunity or could play the game when it came out,” he said.. So no microtransactions. That's good news at least. Edited July 22, 2021 by Abby_TheLastofUs
Popular Post Undead Wolf
The original Dead Space is one of the best survival horror games ever made. A favourite of mine growing up. If this remake can capture what was so great about the original, it'll be something special for sure. It being exclusive to the new generation of consoles (and PC) is pretty exciting too. It means they can really go wild with the graphics and what not since it won't be held back by the ancient hardware that is the PS4 and Xbox One. As always though, it's EA, so I'll remain skeptical until I see more, especially since this is being remade "from the ground up", meaning they have plenty of opportunities to mess things up. It's too bad Visceral Games aren't around anymore to handle this project.
snakebit10
I am hoping Motive studios does it right. I hope they keep Isaac voiceless like in the original Dead Space. Can't wait to see more. It is one of my favorite games from the PS3 era.
