Silent Assassin Rating Requirements

This game is driving me nuts with the requirements for the Silent Assassin rating... I just can't figure out what is allowed and what isn't. Maybe someone can help me with that?

Guide said if you didn't before you should get your first Silent Assassin rating after "Requiem". Nope, I didn't. Didn't care too much, need to finish up 5 levels with a SA rating anyways. But I just can't figure out how. Of course I checked guides, but after the third different try in the Vineyard I thought I rather ask what I did that might have been illegal.

Shortly what I did: I sedated the guard behind the wall, to take his uniform. Let him there - nobody found him, but he was mentioned as dead in the paper (not in the rating screen). I did the same in another run, but flung him over the railing (no paper mention, one more accident).

After I garotte Senior by going over the roof, usually leave him in the chair, after I'm worried the worker on the dock might see him falling. Nobody finds him, I won't get detected.

For Junior I firstly used the explosive and hit him with the crate on the stairs. Explosion usually takes out a guard (accident). Both bodies are found, but I thought with accidents that's okay?

Alternatively I stab him with poison in his coke room. In this case no body is found, but I always raise suspicion. My cover never gets blown, but guards are quite nervous. I suspect the guy guarding the coke room might see a little bit through the barrels? Can't take him out though, the kissing couple always sees me pushing him in the wine.

Lastly I just get my suit back, run around the house and down on the dock, push the worker and the VIP guard into the water, sneak around the sleeping one and off I am.

I hope someone with a little experience can tell me where in that description is my mistake, I really don't feel like trying the same level over and over again just to get "Specialist" in the end again...

Every other clarification regarding SA is appreciated as well (like in theory: if I don't leave any witnesses, shouldn't I get it as well after taking my suit back?)! Thanks a lot.

For the vineyard I knocked out the wandering guard outside and took his uniform, then I walked into the courtyard and waited for the target to come up the stairs, dropped a coin in front of him and ran out the door, back to the outside area with him chasing me and with a little luck push him over the edge or knock him out and drag him over. The next target I sneak into the room, poison him and throw him out the window. I'm pretty sure you can drag him over the planks so he falls into the water, after that haul arse and run to the plane

To achieve Silent Assassin rating you need to only kill your targets, killing NPCs in accident kills is allowed. Your cover can't get blown (you won't get your cover blown while wearing your suit). You can't be seen doing illegal/incriminating actions (sedating enemies, holding guns and syringes, using someone as human shield, dragging bodies, killing people). Bodies can't be found (it's ok if the body is from an accident kill). Trespassing restricted areas while wearing your suit won't affect a SA rating. Killing witnesses in accident kills (throwing them over railings) will allow you to earn SA as long as nobody sees you doing that and while wearing your suit (if you are wearing a disguise your cover will get blown even after you kill a target/witness in an accident kill, e.g. a target that I pushed to his death while wearing a disguise saw me pushing him and it blown my cover, so you need to push them from behind if you are wearing a disguise).

For the Vineyard mission, as soon as the mission starts run to the younger target while avoiding getting spotted, you can garrote him before or after he inhales his drugs, then hide his body inside the lid container nearby and leave. After that, move to a room with crates to the right of the cellar entrance, climb them and drop down to the garden after a patrolling guard enters the target's house while walking stealthly to prevent the resting guy to the left to get up and spot you.

Once inside the house, enter the closet and wait until you see the patrolling guard returns to get outside. When you hear the door opens, get out of the closet and run to the other side of the house to the door next to a climbable pipe. You have to wait until a worker that is smoking leaves to climb the pipe. Be careful with the patrolling guard outside the house, he can spot you so make sure to finish climbing the pipe while he's not looking, walk while crounching when on the roof. Then go through the window to enter the target's room. Wait until he plays his cello to garrote him.

After the main target is dead, exit through the same window while making sure the guard outside doesn't spot you, remember to stay in a crounching stance. Drop down to the back of the house. Then simply make your way down to were the plane is by following the legdes. Once at the bottom, push the smoking worker to the water while avoiding getting spotted by another worker taking the elevator up and down. Do the same with the smoking guard a bit ahead. Remember to crounch when walking. Finally make your way to the plane to escape.

Watch the vids in the trophy guide for the 5 SA ratings

Got this in Curtains Down on Normal difficulty.  As what is already mentioned, only targets should be killed and always watch the suspicion meter.  The reason why it is best to do this on Normal is so that we can make saves on clean runs when not even a sliver of a blip shows in the meter :ps: - and when it does RELOAD a safe save file.  The PS4 Remaster seems to behave differently from the videos I have seen, like the guard knowing where to find me after a target has been downed even when well hidden and no prior contact with witnesses.  That is why having save files is important and doing this on PRO will not give you any of those... on NORMAL we have three slots to play around with.

So yeah if we are having difficulty getting this trophy on PRO, do it on NORMAL and save ourselves the headache.

Spoiler

:ps: - except when both targets are down, the suspicion meter will go up no matter what.  I found it more easier to make a manual save after the stage target has been killed (cutscene) and count 5 Mississipis (approximately 5 seconds) after the second target has left the balcony (cutscene) while waiting on the stairwell at the very bottom hallway.  I ignored the Light Room as the guard below (by the stage) seems to ALWAYS know that I was there (bug perhaps) and ends up being a witness even if I get to safely and quickly leave the room after the chandelier accident.  Staying at the bottom hallway stairwell avoids us getting seen by the bodyguards and is much easier and quicker to make the escape.  This is my fourth trophy so I got it quite early without much fuss.  The 47 Kills trophy is also best gotten in this chapter, do it before going for Silent Assassin.
