Ashbo
Looks pretty interesting this from what i've seen. Those that have played it and I have seen @turniplord has the plat, how is the game? Any pointers for playing it etc??
Popular Post turniplord
Yeah, got it on both the PS5 and PS4 version - PS4 trophies should be live later today I reviewed it here: https://www.gamepitt.co.uk/the-forgotten-city-ps5-review-plus-ps4-opinion/ I really enjoyed it, it's a re-imagining of the original Skyrim Mod which the developer created a few years ago, so the game kinda feels like Skyrim in certain aspects like when you're talking to the NPCs. The concept is great though, stop anyone from committing any crimes as that'll trigger the extermination of everyone living in this enclosed Roman village (2k years in the past), forcing you to jump into a portal and start the day over. However, as you're going through the portal, you keep any items you pick up. So, if you trigger the death of everyone by stealing an item you need to save someone, then 'next day' you can use it once you exit the portal and keep that person alive, opening up new conversations and events. It's all very interesting and works really well. The first play took me about 7 hours with no hints, guides, or help (as there was nothing out there when I played it and it's very different to the mod). After that, it took about 1-2 hours to do additional runs for various trophies and the PS4 version. The only issue is pausing whilst the game loads - it's a few seconds on the PS5 but much longer on the PS4 and via BC on the PS5. Other than that - great game. Obv, I have more info about it in the review, if anyone wants to read it
zizimonster
I've just found out that this was originally a Skyrim mod(?)
Vault-TecPhantom
Loved it!!! Just reached the canon ending which was excellent. No guides, completely blind (which is my preferred style) and i'd advise new players to do the same for the most fun. Really clever writing, some excellent attention to detail, likeable characters. I also know quite a bit about the mythological Greek and Roman Gods so I had figured out a lot of plot points before they were revealed and got all giddy when I was right lol. It does have that Skyrim/Bethesda jank (which makes sense seeing as it started out as a Skyrim mod) Now gonna clean up any remaining trophies. Will probably get the plat for the PS4 version too.

StraightVege
One of the few narrative-driven titles capable of holding my interest nowadays. Got the PS4 platinum in 7.22 hours, following the True Achievements walkthrough. Despite already having the twists and turns spoiled for me by watching streams when the game released, I couldn't bear to skip all the wonderful dialogue, so it could've been much faster. Because an extra loop was necessary to progress during my initial playthrough (I was too slow to save the suicidal fellow), I had to do a separate speedrun as the Fugitive for the Minimalist trophy, which was extremely easy using the noclip cheat: you can literally beat the game on the first loop, entering the temple immediately. While the FPS sections can be surprisingly deadly, the god mode cheat is always available, making the challenge trivial overall.
Nex_lovec
Got the plat a couple days ago. The game is amazing and it truly deserves to be played. Excellent story, very well written characters and an amazing ending.
Neocarleen
My favourite part was after you go through all the trouble of setting up the election to get Duli freed from jail, and then he immediately steals the first thing he sees. It was one of the funniest thing I've ever seen in a game! Edited August 13, 2023 by Neocarleen

VegeJoffrey
I hate narrative game and I loved the forgotten city : A true detective story with a lot of history reference and philosophical topics. On top of that the platinum is easy and quite fun too have.
