Buried among the hundred and thousands of commom trophies are those rare Platinums and those games that took forever to complete based on difficulty or just endless grinding. Here are my 2 top 10 lists. I chose to do top 10 but feel free to do top 3-5 or even your number 1 top choice. 

 

Top 10 rarest Platinums.

1) 0.15% - Injustice gods among us 

2) 1.05% - Street fighter 5

3) 1.38% - Pacman championship edition

4) 1.39% - Mercenary kings

5) 1.67% - Killzone shadow fall

6) 1.77% - Trine 2

7) 2.66% - Dead Nation

8) 2.73% - Oddworld new n' tasty

9) 2.77% - Rive

10) 2.94 % - Rougue Legacy

 

Top 10 most satisfying based on difficulty and hours according to psnprofiles guides.

 

1) The Evil Within - 8.5 difficulty (40-50 hours) Akuma mode 

2) Monster hunter world - 4 difficulty (300+ hours) Crown Farming

3) Killzone shadow fall - 6 difficulty (150-200 hours) max out all abilities...sigh

4) Injustice gods among us - 8 difficulty (90+ hours) beat all enemies on hard with 1 life bar - seriously!

5) Street fighter 5 - 10 difficulty (150 hours)

6) Last of Us remastered - 4 difficulty (40-70+ hours) multiplayer trophies

7) Diablo 3 reaper of souls - 6 difficulty (80+ hours) dream team max out all char classes

8,9) Bloodbourne and Seikro - 7 difficulty (50+ hours each) 

10) Rayman Legends - 5 difficulty (80 hours) up to 1-6 months of grinding based on daily challenges

 

Working on Jotun platinum now.

Proudest

 

1. Super Meat Boy - People can say this is overrated, it doesn't deserve the rarity it has, it's not all that hard overall. Blah blah blah. I still feel this is a prestige platinum. It is perhaps the most precision based platformer I have played. The feeling of practicing for nearly 40 hours on Impossible Boy, to finally get that trophy and platinum after so much work is unparalleled. Unless of course you finish Crypt of the Necrodancer, which is a game I will never get done.

 

2. Surgeon Simulator - I did all the A++ levels legit. It is easily possible to revert to version 1.00 and only do the first six levels to A++, but I was so far into the game I didn't want to delete and reinstall it. Very difficult to do with a controller, as mouse and keyboard allows for much greater precision. Not a particularly great game in my opinion, but one to feel proud of.

 

3. Bloodborne & Dark Souls - Not overly difficult, yet both games require a fair amount of research jumping in. There is also that steep learning curve. I struggled in the beginning in both games until the mechanics started to click. The atmosphere in both are monumental. From Software created a new genre and perfected it. My hat goes off to them for delivering extremely high quality games that reward your time and patience.

 

4. Velocity 2X & Furi - Two noteworthy challenging indie games that are both excellent. Never unfair. Like with the Souls games, both have a steep learning curve, but due to their more niche appeal, they have much lower rarity percentages. Velocity 2X was a hard shmup and platformer, Furi was a hard hack n' slash style with one quirk, only bosses to fight. Both have excellent soundtracks, both are challenging, and I can't recommend them enough for anyone willing to try them out.

 

5. Dead Space 2 - I contemplated on putting Vanquish on here for it's difficult Challenge 6, but I decided to put Dead Space 2 at #5. While Vanquish had a lot of eye candy, epic battles and awesome styles that only Japan could pull off, Dead Space was a series of survival horror set in space. I couldn't run and gun, I had to take my time slowly and listen for any baddies that might chomp Isaac's head off. The only real reason this is here is because of Hard Core Mode, the difficulty where you can only work with three save files. Dying at any point will send you to the nearest save, there is no reloading or checkpoints. I did fairly well, but I died several times due to silly mistakes, one of which costed me two hours worth of gaming progress. The pressure and temptation to move on to the next chapter made this platinum immensely satisfying when I finally achieved it. Dying to the debris after the credits roll at the very end was a troll move by Visceral Games.
