Popular Post SicilianDragon92
Update #1 Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate (Vita) 44% Dark Souls 2: SOTFS 38% Final Fantasy XIV 27% Dishonored (PS3) 21% Mafia 3 19% Mad Max 17% Dishonored 2 14% Wasteland 3 10% Assassin’s Creed: Origins 20% > 32% Hades (PS5) 13% > 68% Echochrome (PS3) 14% Bully 0% > 49% Sorry Updates are going to be slower for this one from me since work has now restarted. I've been mainly working on the games in bold. 9. Assassin’s Creed: Origins 20% > 32% I was really enjoying this one up until hitting a huge wall recently. As I understand it this is the first of the AC games that came after they were criticised for a general lack of innovation and so far it seems that most of the changes they have made have been to introduce levels to enemies and gear. Initially I didn't mind this change but just recently I've begun to fall behind in the levelling and that has made some story missions seem near impossible. So now I'm left to try to grind the (generally ok) side missions but is does feel a bit like progress has stalled. It plays well enough I'm just not a fan of stealthing up to an enemy and stabbing them only to find they shrug it off and immediately impale me for my trouble. Characters are well realised, though Bayek is a bit of a cliche and its a typical revenge plot that so far anyway doesn't seem to have much bearing on the rest of the series. I guess the AC plot was getting a bit needlessly convoluted and perhaps it will improve later but for now I don't a great motivation to continue. Hopefully it will get better after the mid-game hump. 10. Hades (PS5) 13% > 68% I've never played a roguelike/roguelite before. I've always reasoned that I do not like repetition for little reward unless it is something with RPG style stats that I can see has a tangible result. It did seem though that last year everyone in the world was raving about Hades so since it was only £20 (and since I did enjoy Bastion when I played that on PC some years ago) I thought it can't hurt much to give it a go. I am now totally hooked. This might just go down as one of my favourite games ever and that is a list that goes back a long way. The gameplay loop is polished to a mirror sheen, just challenging enough with the difficulty seemingly infinitely modifiable and it is spectacularly satisfying when you get a great combination of upgrades and you work out how to completely wreck rooms that gave you trouble before. All the weapons are viable and no one feels overwhelmingly better or worse than the others (to me anyway), and the story is compelling and well written with many different plot threads at once. I'm currently to the point of having finished the main goal of the story with just the epilogue to go, and need to work through some of the side character goals. The main hurdle I think is going to be the 16 heat run trophy. Have tried it once and I barely got out of the first area, other than that though I'm going to really enjoy finishing this and would encourage anyone else to try it as well. 12. Bully 0% > 49% I just about finished GTA San Andreas for the last challenge and so I was on a bit of a retro rockstar thing when I added this one. I remember the controversy surrounding it when I was first released (it even had to be released under a different name in the UK) but I think that was mainly due to the title. It's really quite a silly quaint story about a mischievous schoolboy. It's obviously very dated now and the trophy list is dreadful, consisting of just "do X so many times" mostly. I wouldn't recommend it if you are too young to remember it originally. I'm near the end of chapter 4 and then will have a few grindy things to do like ride around on a skateboard for another 30km and break 300 bottle in a shooting gallery, should get it finished before the end of the month I think. Next plans: Going to finish up bully and continue chipping away at Hades, and then will move one to Echochrome and maybe Mafia 3.

Popular Post Bl4ckb1rd92
End of week update: Spent last week in the field, so didn't have a chance to play, but I got some in just before I left and played a little now that I'm back. Dark Souls II - started at 50% --> currently at 71% Finished my checklist and plan to plug away at it a bit this week before teaming up with a friend Friday night. Spyro 2 - started at 19% --> The nostalgia was definitely there. I might throw 3 on the list if I finish my first 5 in a decent amount of time. Control - 13% --> Haven't touched it, yet. Since I've already got three main games I'm working on, I'll hold off on this one until one of those is complete. FFVII - 10% --> I couldn't remember what I was doing in my old save file, so I just restarted; just left Midgar. Berserk - started at 4% --> currently at 10% Finished up arc 3, planning on finishing the story next weekend In other news, my guide for Othercide was published since my last update as well. A tally mark on my personal completion list. If anyone was wanting to throw that one on the list, but wasn't sure how to start, I got you.
Popular Post KunoGuy
Update #1 Been busy with life while sneaking gaming in. So it was a good time for Vita games. Finished Epic Mickey 2. There was some challenge there not to mess up as the game autosaves often and if you make a mistake, can be locked out of the perfectionist trophy. Lots of Ultra Rare trophies in that one. Started up again on Lego Ninjago SOR. Almost done with the story I think. The one that surprised me was how good Kaze is. It has some pretty solid platforming, art style, and some pretty tight spots to get through. I usually shy away from Speedruns but getting the time trials feels pretty rewarding. I had fun trying to beat the world 3 boss without getting hit, but I kept thinking I know I can do it, so close. So I think it amounts to a rewarding plat for anyone wanting to try it. 1. Popular Post skeggah
Been having some days off work, and the best way to handle that is to eat good food, drink cold beer and knocking out some trophies! 2 games have been completed, and I don't have much to say about either of them. Grim Legends (PS4) I've played a couple of these types of games in the past, this one was nothing special. I liked the darker tones of Dark Arcana better. Hotel Transylvania (PS4) This... sucked. As soon as the first trophy popped I felt it. Instant regret. Luckily it was a short game. I honestly don't have anything good to say about it other than that it was short. Bleh, bleh, bleh! Order Up!! Only the grind for money left, trying to get 10k per day. Completed games! 1) Dark Cloud (PS4) - 100% 14) Altered Beast (PS3) - 100% 11) Brave (PS3) - 100% 13) Moving Out! (PS4) - 100% 17) Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS4) - 100% 5) MediEvil (PS4) - 100% 16) Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride (PS4) - 0% --> 100% (Completed) 18) Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard (PS4) - 0% --> 100% (Completed) Ongoing games! 2) Samurai Warriors 5 (PS4) - 34% 3) Knack 2 (PS4) - 13% --> 17% (Updated) 4) Legend of Kay Anniversary (PS3) - 1% 6) LEGO Marvel's Avengers (Vita) - 0% 7) Mass Effect (PS4) - 0% 8) Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS4) - 11% 9) Little Nightmares 2 (PS5) - 0% --> 12% (Updated) 10) Subnautica (PS5) - 0% 12) Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood (PS4) - 0% 15) Seasons After Fall (PS4) - 0% 19) Overcooked: All You Can Eat (PS4) - 0% -->14% (Updated) 20) Order Up!! (PS3) - 28% --> 71% (Updated) Swaps 0/5 I have a question about Subnautica by the way. I put it on my list thinking I would do it through the dev menu, meaning I can knock it out in about an hour. Is that considered cheating for this challenge? If that is the case i will use a swap on it, i don't have the willpower to go through it legit. ? It didn't take much to wrap up. This game wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Haven't played on-rail shooters in quite a while. I tried both the Move and DS3 controllers and Move seems to be the way to go (but I still don't know why some actions are unresponsive, will have to test it with other games I have). F1 2021: I've been just playing My Team mode and unlocking trophies through normal gameplay. I'm at the end of my second season. Skylanders Trap Team: I started this a bit later than I hoped and thus didn't get as far as I wanted on the weekend. Still, 2/3 way done with the story so not bad. Of course Skylanders games are a lot more enjoyable when you have all the characters to explore all nooks and crannies. I'm missing a few to get everything but still exploring a lot and enjoying it with what I have (plenty). That's it for me this week. For next week I'm aiming to finish first run of Skylanders and to start Nightmare playthrough by next weekend. And to run a few races in F1. Game on!
Popular Post da_eMTy
Update #1: First update, a lot later than expected. Finished some games over the first two and a half week. I started with Ether One, which was on my backlog for over 6 years now....it was fun and I had no problems on the PS5 with it. No Crash, freeze or another issue. Was an okay game with a good story but gameplaywise or graphical...nah...its outdated doesnt catched me. But Im happy, that I could get it off my backlog. Next game was Nextgen: Sandbox..that a trash game. Bought it cheap from a sale because it looked like a fun experience. But it isnt. Save your money if you can. For a cheap platinum its okay. But im not proud of this gem in my profile ? Hero Express was a fun ride. I like Endless runners and this was was really good. I had a lot of fun with the different tracks and rides. And after each run and another upgrade it was easier to get ahead of the previous benchmark. The controls are easy and a bit different for each car and the worlds had different themes, so it doesnt get boring. I would recommend it ? Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX was by far the worst game Ive played in this Event. The controls are horrible and like someone said in the forums: "if you think jumping in dark souls is hard, try Alex Kidd." I really like plattforme and jump and runs but this game...wow I was close to bite my controller. The game isnt hard and the levels are short. but the hitboxes are shit, the lag when jumping is shit...ok dont get mad. It wasnt my cup of tea. Bus Simulator was my calm down game after Alex "I cant jump" Kidd and it was a chiling ride. I like these kind of games and will definitly play the sequel. The "All mine!" trophy was buggy for me and I thought, I couldnt plat this game. But after 20 more routes it plopped random at some point and I got instant motivation to complete the DLC aswell. After that we went on vacation and I could play some Vita games on the way. Thomas was Alone was brilliant. Nice story, good gameplay and still better jumping than Alex The last one was Gem Smashers, whicht helped me when I got sick and had to lay in bedd for a hole day. Now Im back at home and ready for F1 2021 and other bigger games for the next update. Got the Pyre plat so that's 2 games done. Instead of focusing on one medium-sized game like I planned, I jumped between a few long games and made some decent progress in each. I beat 2 of the 3 Dark Avatars in Curse of the Dead Gods once I started using the backup save trick. I haven't reached the third one in good enough shape yet to bother save scumming there, but I'm improving. In GT Sport, I finally got all golds in the driving school and have moved on to the mission challenges. Also started on Rayman Legends to work on the daily and weekly challenge grind. Seems like Ubisoft is starting to close PS3 game servers so I figured I should start on this sooner rather than later. Haven't scored a gold cup in a challenge yet, but I'm slowly getting better there, too. Still playing too much Destiny 2 and not enough FFXIV. Not sure what I'm going to play this week yet. I want to save a couple of short games for later on so maybe something like Just Cause 2 or Doraemon. A game that I can knock out in a week while still working on those longer grinds. I'll probably take a stab at some of the Resogun DLC again, too. Week 4 plans -plat one game -keep on grinding GT and Rayman -play more FFXIV, for real this time Have a good week and keep clearing those backlogs! Just over a week, and only one playthrough. I'm sure I'm just a weirdo for thinking this way but I wish they required more than one playthrough to get the platinum. 100% monster book or 100% item book would've been nice, but I do also see that it makes it easier for more people to complete the game. Not sure what I'll work on next, maybe Kena since that comes out tonight. Tales and I can't work on Human Fall Flat, unfortunately, since that game is still not working for our invites or finding one another in public lobbies after a fluke let us one time. It was definitely an experience, so I can say that much. I don't think I'd really recommend it to anyone who isn't already a Harry Potter fan though, as it's just so unremarkable on so many levels, yet ironically never boring. It's very strange to think about really. I've got a review up of it HERE, it's not essential to read it or anything - I just thought I'd leave a link if anyone was interested in reading about some of my experiences of it. I'm rather enjoying the extra bit of focus this events given me actually. I think I'll tackle Agents of Mayhem next - it'd be nice to get that one out of the way nice and early, I don't really have any kind of expectations going into that game, so I guess it's just a case of diving in head first and seeing how I find it. There's some beastly progress people are making here too by so many of you which is great to read about. @Crispy_Oglop - I was very pleased to read you'd finally nailed Puyo Puyo, bet that's a huge monkey off your back now, good luck with the rest of Judgment too, that's a fantastic game. On 20/09/2021 at 5:43 PM, KazaneHime said: Tales of Arise took much less time to get the plat on than I expected. Just over a week, and only one playthrough. I'm sure I'm just a weirdo for thinking this way but I wish they required more than one playthrough to get the platinum. 100% monster book or 100% item book would've been nice, but I do also see that it makes it easier for more people to complete the game. As above - gutted I'm out of rep points right now - Congratulations too. You guys slayed that beast real quick. You aren't a weirdo for thinking that either by the way, at least I don't think so. I think I'd be exactly the same in wishing that there was a little bit more required. Filling out the monster and item books is usually one of my favourite things to do. Although, as you alluded to, it does make it easier for people to complete the game - which if it brings in more fans for the Tales of' series and encourages them to go and explore more of them, that can only be a good thing right. Popular Post L0sT_NZ_Kazekage
Alright, I normally wouldn't make a second update so soon but made some good progress. Finished Until Dawn which was probably the game I was least looking forward too. Finished a blind run of it last challenge but did not get far trophy wise. I loved it the first time but after doing 2.5 playthroughs and the last chaper 5x I'm happy to put it to rest! It was a great game for one playthrough atleast. Started up Kena tonight and enjoying it so far! My partner loves the rots ? 1. Assassins Creed: Valhalla (17%) 2. DarkSouls Remastered (5%) 3. God of War: Ghost of Sparta (0%) 4. A Plauge Tale: Innocence (100%) 5. Until Dawn (11%) --> (100%) 6. Kena: Bridge of Spirits (0%) --> (9%) Games Complete: (2/6) Swaps Used: (0/5)
Popular Post freddie1989
So a more positive update for me this time albeit a small one. Finished up all the acts on Sonic Mania. I think the fact I wasnt enjoying it made me push on to finish it. Done all the online for Worms as well except the 3 player trophy which will hopefully be done this week. Played very minimal of Days Gone but enjoying it. Middle Earth: Shadow of War 0% Days Gone 5% Worms Battlegrounds 68% - 74% Sonic Mania 4% - 23% Emily Wants to Play 0% Assassin's Creed Unity 40% Late Shift 0% The Last of Us Remastered 0% Rage 2 0% Need for Speed Payback 0%
Popular Post YaManSmevz
Toasty War Journal #3 9/21/21 The good thing about being away from the forums for the better part of the week is that I have all these awesome updates to read - y'all are some beasts, full-stop! Lots peeps are playing games I've either completed or plan to start, and their thoughts have been a real treat to see. Also now I'm lookin at games like Inside, Tales of Arise, and Thomas Was Alone like hmmmm..... The bad thing, however, is that I'm pretty sure all my likes are gone in one sitting? Sadly I don't have much to contribute. It's been a wild week, and next week we'll be out of town (on a much needed vacation), so I'll be a bit of a slow starter again but I have every intention of catching up with the fantastic progress I'm seein around me! Took advantage of the Disasters DLC for Cities for some easy trophies, and it was a lot of fun - I got a flashback of a rather sadistic 10 year old me playing Sim City and unleashing every disaster from earthquakes to Bowser attacks for no reason other than to giggle like a little weirdo. This time was different of course, and purely for the trophies. Nothing else! Hitman is so much fun, and especially now that it seems the trophy issue I encountered can be worked around, there isn't much reason to keep putting off finishing it. I always forget that it's actually a pretty funny game, be it the almost groan-inducing puns ("this view is to DIE for") or the interchangeable NPC dialogue that gives you absurd situations like getting made in the midst of mobsters and one of them inexplicably shrieks "where are the police??" If I can pick up the pace, Hitman 2 might find itself on this list too! Thanks for all the solid updates, and thanks for reading mine??? 1. Resident Evil 5 (24%) 2. Yakuza 0 (22%) 3. Hitman (41-->50%) 4. Final Fantasy IX (8%) 5. Cities: Skylines (7-->12%) 6. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 (24-->30%) 7. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (0%) 8. Afterparty (0%)
Popular Post skeggah
Hej! It's really cool to see the progress you people are making, and inspiring to see some of the games you've chosen. I feel like a bit of a slacker for playing some of the easy but boring games on PS Now, haha! When these 20 games we've started with are done, I'll probably add a few more, but more challenging ones. I'm really looking forward to playing Mass Effect, but I want to reduce the games I'm playing simultaneously first. Outside of this challenge I'm also wrestling with Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone and AC: Valhalla. I've been tired from work these past couple of days and the only real progress I've made for this challenge lies in; Little Nightmares 2. I played it blind on the PS4 when it first came out and freaking loved it. I started it right after finishing the gold trophy for the first game (dont' die, speedrun) and all my feels for these games are the good feels! This time around I've resorted to a checklist by chapter. It goes a little faster, but doesn't take away from the fun for me. #Lovelygame Order Up!! Okay, it turns out my gf is some kind of beast. In my last update the plan was to make 10k everyday through grinding and finishing up this trophy in about 8 days. Well, she grinded it out in 2 days. Very impressed by that, the grind is nowhere near fun or rewarding. Completed games! 1) Dark Cloud (PS4) - 100% 14) Altered Beast (PS3) - 100% 11) Brave (PS3) - 100% 13) Moving Out! (PS4) - 100% 17) Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS4) - 100% 5) MediEvil (PS4) - 100% 16) Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride (PS4) - 100% 18) Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard (PS4) - 100% 20) Order Up!! (PS3) - 71% --> 100% (Completed) Ongoing games! 2) Samurai Warriors 5 (PS4) - 34% 3) Knack 2 (PS4) - 17% 4) Legend of Kay Anniversary (PS3) - 1% 6) LEGO Marvel's Avengers (Vita) - 0% 7) Mass Effect (PS4) - 0% 8) Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS4) - 11% 9) Little Nightmares 2 (PS5) - 12% --> 53% (Updated) 10) Subnautica (PS5) - 0% 12) Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood (PS4) - 0% 15) Seasons After Fall (PS4) - 0% 19) Overcooked: All You Can Eat (PS4) - 14% Swaps 0/5 I have a question about Subnautica by the way. I put it on my list thinking I would do it through the dev menu, meaning I can knock it out in about an hour. Is that considered cheating for this challenge? If that is the case i will use a swap on it, i don't have the willpower to go through it legit.

I don't think you'd be able to use the dev menu, possibly would fall under the same category as auto-popping which is not allowed for the challenge

I guess I was a little quick in making my initial list and getting started! ? @MidnightDragon, could you please be the judge on this? I have no problems with using a swap here. Most people use this option for Conan Exiles (because it sucks) and its not down as cheating.

It's not deemed cheating, but this event doesn't allow auto popping of games to count for the sake of completing it, but at the same time stacks aren't supposed to be allowed and someone has stacks on their approved list so who knows. Stuff like console commands, dev menu, etc aren't mentioned though (probably because it's pretty rare). Probably would be a case by case since there's also stuff like how Nier Automata allows players to buy some of the trophies in game, but they do still have to beat the game and get all endings for the plat.
