I've been reading along with everyone's progress, but practically every time I've been in here I've basically been out of those pesky rep points. Nice to see everybody is still plugging away and making awesome progress - whilst I still need a giant fire lit near my behind to just to make sure I actually finish the eight games that I have left - I may have bitten off more than I can chew. But we'll see, I've got four more swaps if I need them, so wish me luck I guess. I had a little bit of a dry spell for a while there - it was a combination of a little gaming fatigue and then mind numbingly slow progress with Stranded Deep.. Then I decided to just end the year nice and chilled out with a trip through The Wolf Among Us. So what did I think of them? Thoughts on Stranded Deep Whilst Stranded Deep is about the furthest you can get from a mechanically complicated or deep game - what there is of it is actually functionally pretty good. There are I expect a plethora of better alternatives when it comes to the genre. But it's one I had relatively little experience with, so I enjoyed broadening my horizons with it. There are plenty of good times to be had though - and one of the prevailing things that seem to crop up everywhere is this game seems to be able to just give you some pretty good anecdotes no matter who plays it. Some of them stressful, some of them funny. It all depends on the situation. I literally built a gyrocopter, got all excited that I was going on an adventure, found what I thought was a new island, everything seemed half built and interesting. Only to find out it was my own island I'd been using as a base..... That was a real moment - but a hilarious one nonetheless. Oh and some of the trophies are a little buggy - apparently you have to craft all three of the boss kill trophies during the same play session or the trophy won't unlock - so the moral of the story folks, is don't be a nimrod like me, craft them all at once to save yourself having to repeat five hours worth of spear farming. To be able to kill the monsters again. So I did enjoy my time with it for the most part - I came out of the other side of it with an interest in a genre that I wasn't all too familiar with before, so those are all positives. If you wanted to read my thoughts on it in more depth (pun possibly intended, ?) with a long twist and turn story about me getting completely lost for a few in game days. Then you can find my full thoughts, opinions and experiences on it here Thoughts on The Wolf Among Us I don't think I need to really delve too deeply into this one. It's a Telltale game most of us know what to expect from those. Do I like every single one I've played? Absolutely not. but I really thoroughly liked this one.Except Beast, if this site didn't censor the word I'd like to call him, I'd call him that, so instead I'll settle for cockwomble. Beast is a cockwomble. If you've seemingly lived under a rock for a while like me and only gotten to playing this game in the last few months or have yet to play it. Fear not because Beast only appears in a few scenes. So it isn't like he hampers the experience. For what it's worth though I think this is one of the best Telltale offerings you could play - if you've yet to play it then this is one of the very best things that they've done. I guess if for some reason, you wanted to read about me wanting to turn my eyes into paddling pools filled with bleach to avoid having to look at Toad Junior (sorry kid, but you freaked me out) any longer, then you can also find them here too where I've reviewed the game in a bit more detail, there aren't any spoilers or anything. I'm off to try and make some more progress with Yakuza 3.... It might be 2:40AM for me. But it's also Sunday now, and I don't have to be anywhere later - so I guess a little late night gaming session couldn't go amiss. Keep killing it with all the progress you are all making everyone - next time you'll hear from me as far as updates go, I'll hopefully have put Yakuza 3 to bed. Popular Post StilRh
Hi guys. Hope 2022 is going well so far. I managed to finish Death's Door. Initially I think I found it a bit dull because (thematically) the world is barren and dead, and also combat was a bit tedious during boss fights (the umbrella trophy compounds this). Towards the end of the game the world became more interesting and there were some realIy fun boss fights so the game grew on me. I don't think it's an indie GOTY contender or anything but worth your time if you get on sale. No concrete plans for this week but there's plenty for me to play! Popular Post Heather342
Update 23 I tried going on a weekly schedule for these updates, but that just seems to have gone out the window now! I've done so much since Wednesday that I felt like another update was due ? So I managed to completely finish up Ghost of Tsushima, get the platinum and finish NG+ for the 100%. An absolutely fantastic game, brilliant story and excellent combat system made the game very enjoyable. My only criticism would be too many side quests and collectables, but that was only a minor thing really. The Iki Island DLC added a nice background into the relationship Jin had with his father, and fitted really well into the overall experience of the game. The multiplayer side of the game too is a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this game if you haven't played it yet. Now I'm back onto Crash Team Racing, essentially trying to 'Git Gud' at this point ?. Yesterday I managed to finish up those Crystal challenges and got that trophy. Today however, I don't quite know what happened but I'm getting through the adventure mode on hard. I somehow managed to pop the 'Unstoppable' trophy for maintaining boost for a whole lap, I wasn't even actively trying for it but it popped while I was trying to come first on Roo's Tubes track ?. This was a trophy I was finding pretty difficult before, so I'm quite pleased by this turn of events ?! Adventure mode progress now I have completed 8 out of 16 races and 2 of the 4 boss races required for the 'Yeee HAW!' trophy! After that.... it's time trials. So many time trials ?. But I'm feeling a bit more confident compared to last week! Popular Post KimBongUn420
Update #13: Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition Difficulty: 3/10 Grind: 4/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Overall: 5/10* *(but you should still play it if you've never played it or got it as part of the FC6 season pass) Ok let's get it out of the way: from a technical POV this "remaster" sucks ass. I have the PC version of Blood Dragon from 2013 and the remaster, running on PS5, looks no better. The controls have a massive amount of input lag just like FC3 classic edition did when it first was released. Also, the headshot trophy is STILL janky af so you have to keep a list of all the enemies you've killed. It's dumb. I hated the first 90 minutes of playing it while I got used to the stupid laggy controls. This game is worth $0 and the only way you should play it is if you got it as part of the season pass. But...despite the shitty graphics, bad controls, and awful terrain detection, this game is still fun as hell. It's the best of the modern Far Cry games and it's a freaking DLC! The story is so bad it's good, everything is ridiculously cliche, and you get to ride a dragon with laser beams for eyes. Again, in one of the story missions you get to ride a dragon, blowing up everything in sight using its eye lazorz. Far Cry games have always been the best when they just went full-on Just Cause and let you be an invincible god running around blowing stuff up, and Blood Dragon is the best example of that. Finally, the game's soundtrack is one of the best you will ever experience, especially if you love 80s music or synth wave. It's worth playing just for the soundtrack, and in my entire gaming career I've only said that about one other game (Ys 8). Blood Dragon is dumb, stupid fun and it's refreshing to play a game that doesn't try to convince you that it's something more than what it actually is. Again, Ubisoft clearly spent no effort on this remaster, and you shouldn't pay money for it. But if you did, I wouldn't fault you. Progress Updates 428 Shibuya Scramble - finished the main story and working through the endings and bonus content. I am really not a huge VN person but wow was this game good. It's very long for a VN, which is definitely off-putting to a lot of people, but it's entirely worth the 35 hours. Incredible character development and the jumping between plot lines mechanic works so well here. Incredible how this game has held up after 13 years. Planning to finish this off by next weekend. Far Cry 6 - I'm through about 2/3 of the story and this game is getting worse the longer I play it. It's a better game than 5 by far, but the characters are so god awful and the gameplay loop gets really stale. It's still a big step down from FC4 or FC3, and so far Giancarlo Esposito has appeared in the game for about 10 minutes. I'll be happy to get this one done. Life is Strange 2 - finished Episode 1. Will hold off on final thoughts until I'm done, but my god, half my interactions with Daniel make me want to drop kick him through my TV. The devs did way too good of a job making him being as annoying as possible. Tales of Arise - making my way through postgame stuff. Still prepping flame suit for final thoughts. ? Starting to take a stab at what I think my list for the spring/summer event will be. My plan is to do a lot of cleaning out of my AAA backlog this time, which means fewer but longer games. Only ~7 weeks left in the current challenge; good luck to everyone finishing their lists! Popular Post Jeanolt
I probably won't finish the challenge due to different reasons, I haven't been playing a lot lately, and it's not possible for someone like me to finish it in 2 months. Popular Post be_minor
Update #5: I guess this is becoming an update once a month challenge for me, not from lack of progress, but time. (I'm resolved to changing that in these last two months of challenge; catching up on updates is a whole day activity now.) Since my last update in November, I’ve completed Celeste, Miles Morales (for those holiday feels), and made some significant progress in Skyrim, platinuming it just last night. Most of my free time in December was spent starting - and subsequently floundering through - my first FromSoft game: Bloodborne. I’m not a skilled gamer by any means, and I’ve always been deterred by difficulty, but I cannot put this game down! I may regret this immeasurably, but I want to add it to my list, swapping it out with inFamous. Honestly, if I can 100% this game before the end of the challenge, I’ll be ecstatic. Still not ready to get back to LEGO Dimensions. I also played some Project Cars 3 which is not part of my list. Yeah, my update is a bit lean. Hopefully I can make up for it next week. freddie1989
Anyone finished Shadow of War? I was plodding along with the Shadow Wars act 4 element and the trophy popped way before it was supposed to. Presumably patched. This has led to me being 10 levels lower than I need to be and having what I believe are message trophies. Any way around this other than playing half the game over? Popular Post gruffiiti
I am determined not to let updates slip to a month again so here is an update on what been going on so far in January. I made some good progress so far on reclaiming some of the percentage I dropped at the end of 2021. It wont continue at this pace for much longer but I am determined to continue to make steady gains and hit my goal this year. Sniper Elite 4 Finally went back and finished up the last couple challenges and trophies in the last dlc to get this game officially to 100%. It has been good fun and the co-op in this game was excellent. I felt a little sad as I removed the game from the HDD to make room for new stuff but apparently SE5 is on the way this year so I will jump back into the series when that drops. Little Nightmares II Finished up Little Nightmares and man what a game. Not only did it live up to the hype I had built up for it in my head. The level design (atmosphere the game created) was extremely well done and at times even bordering on making me nervous and anxious. The hospital level in particular is truly the stuff of my personal nightmares... I will definitely be replaying this at some point, likely around Halloween as its that good. Tohu Not much to say about this game other than it is a point and click adventure that I impulse bought one day so I figured I should play through it at least. Ghost Giant VR Pulled out the VR unit for the first time in many months just to play this game. I had randomly came across this game at the library the other week and then it came up the very next day in a conversation with @DrBloodmoney so I felt like the universe was telling me to give it a try. I had forgotten how cool VR games could but was immediately reminded as soon as I was immersed in the game world. It had some really neat puzzles and collectibles that needed to be found while doing tasks to further the story. I think it took me just over 4hrs to complete which included a blind first playthrough so IMO the game is the perfect length for a single session. It was an interesting concept and made for an enjoyable evening even if I was stressing about the move controllers dying for the last hour. Also added a few more games to the list that I had recently started at the end of last year that I plan to do this year. Going to try get to them before this season of backlog challenge is over. Popular Post Static_Rook
Update 19 - 1/10/2022 Just Cause 2 4% 10% Quake Remastered 29% 60% Started a couple new games on the list to change things up a little. Just Cause 2 is really fun, but I can tell it's going to take at least 2 weeks for the plat so I'm trying to fit in a shorter game or two while I play it. I'm playing through on Hardcore for the story trophies, then need to decide if I want to start over on Easy for the 100% or just finish up on HC. The Quake remaster is also really fun and a nice nostalgia bomb. I started the remaster when it first came out but got distracted by other games. I beat the original levels on Nightmare and mopped up the secret / misc trophies for them (I used the co-op trick for The Painless Maze), and just need to do the same for the expansions. I'm planning on tackling one expansion per day so I should be able to finish by next update. Apparently one of the secret trophies is bugged after the December update. So, after I finish everything else I'm going to try the proxy trick to re-download the 1.0 version and see if I can unlock it that way. If not, I'll just consider it "done" until the bug (hopefully) gets fixed. Plans for this week are to finish Quake, keep playing Just Cause 2, and start another PS3 game on the list. Maybe Dead Space 2, finally. I'm also still plugging away at the Rayman Legends challenges, but I don't think I can get enough points to get the plat before the end of the challenge. I'll probably miss it by like a week. If only I started on it sooner...or was actually good enough to get higher than silvers most days. Stay warm and safe! Popular Post freddie1989
So I thought I'd drop a quick update given I was tearing my hair out last night over this game! I thought Shadow of War was going to shaft me into 20 odd more not needed hours BUT apparently it seems to have been patched to remove a load of the sieges but no longer has missables. Popular Post L0sT_NZ_Kazekage
And with that I have Plat #8 of the challenge with Sekiro. Wow this has instantly become one of my top 3 games of all time. I'm quite proud how quickly I finished it, was not the easiest! I almost skipped this because I watched a friend play it and I thought it looked a bit dumb compared to the Souls games but boy was I wrong. Just two games left! Hoping to finish up before Elden Ring and Horizon 2 next month ? 1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (21%) --> (100%) 2. Dark Souls Remastered (100%) 3. A Way Out (100%) 4. A Plague Tale: Innocence (100%) 5. Until Dawn (100%) 6. Kena: Bridge of Spirits (100%) 7. Death Loop (12%) 8. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (47%) 9. Spiderman: Miles Morales (100%) 10. Last week I despaired at how much grinding I would have to do to get to level 270 for one of them, but I figured out the games crafting system and now I have a team loaded up with EXP boosting equipment that can get me nearly 500K exp for a 1-2 minute boss fight. Went over 80 levels in 1 evening grind session while I watched Critical Role so now I am not so worried about that one, but it will still probably take me the next couple of weeks to finish it.
Popular Post YaManSmevz
Toasty War Journal #17 1/13/22 What's goin on y'all! Another update from your friendly neighborhood Smevinman. On time, no less! I must admit - while Res 5 remains among my least favorite in the series, it has grown on me! I forgot what a toolbox Wesker is, though... like how all of a sudden he just decided to have an accent. What a hipster? So my battle plan is a speedrun for the infinite rocket launcher, veteran difficulty, DLC, multiplayer, and then professional difficulty for last, because I find that saving the platinum for the end of a game with DLC makes it a bit more satisfying! Grim Fandango was outstanding, absolutely hysterical and charming as shit. I loved Manny, I loved Glottis, and I loved the ridiculousness of it all. I would legit buy a calavera T-shirt that says "Grim Fandango cured my depression." Now for the sad reality.... with a month and a half left, not only am I gonna have to get rid of a game this week, I'm probably gonna have to swap out another next week. Facts is facts, I bit off more than I could chew! So I'm swapping out Cities for the considerably shorter (and homie-recommended) Murdered: Soul Suspect. And of course I didn't want to make it too easy for myself, so I'll be adding another relatively short game in The Forgotten City. This one feels like a cheat since it's new to me and therefore wasn't in my backlog, but I've had four people with trustworthy opinions (including a few in this very thread!) gush over it now, and I just need to see for myself what the fuss is all about! Lookin forward to another productive week. As always, thanks for reading and thanks for posting? 1. Resident Evil 5 (38-->61%) 2. Yakuza 0 (22%) 3. ️Final Fantasy IX (8%) 4. Sleeping Dogs (0%) 5. The Forgotten City (0%) 6. Murdered: Soul Suspect (0%) 7. Dex✅️ 8. Hitman✅️ 9. Islanders✅️ 10. Hitman 2✅️ 11. Afterparty✅️️ 12. The Witness✅️ 13. Hotline Miami✅️️ 14. Grim Fandango (68-->100%)✅️ 15. Red Dead Revolver✅️ 16. The Wolf Among Us✅️ 17. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons✅️️ 18. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas✅️️ 19. Hitman 2 Additional Expansions✅️ Swaps: 2/5

Its been years since I played it and I wanted to play through it again so I popped a couple trophies in it at the end of last year to make sure I get to it soon. My only gripe about the game is that whomever added the trophy that requires an entire playthrough of the game using tank controls should be punched in the throat. The updated newer controls makes the game so much more enjoyable to play so why force an inferior playthough? I guess realistically its only a trophy hunters problem and sure you get used to the tank controls but I would rather not have to.
Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, Here's my weekly update. I finally got the platinum and 100% in Lost Judgment! I'm really happy that I finished it as this was quite the grind towards the end. I enjoyed the story of this game and most of getting the 100 % was fun too. It just took long. I think overall it took me around a 130 hours ? Apart from Lost Judgment I played more Crash Bandicoot 4 and Dirt 5. Dirt 5 is enjoyable so far, although it seems a bit simple. I also found out too late that it had DLC trophies and the DLC is 35,00 euro's at this time. I'm hoping for a discount in the coming week, so that I can get the 100%. I'm also replaying Horizon Zero Dawn, I never got the 100% for it so I'm playing new game + and on the hardest difficulty. The game was at 70% tho, so I cannot add it to this challenge unfortunately. Have a good week everyone! 1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - 100% 2. Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020 - 100% 3. Overcooked: all you can eat - 100% 4. Hades -100% 5. Guardians of the Galaxy - 100% 6. Life is strange: True Colors - 100% 7. Carrion - 100% 8. Chicory: A Colorful Tale - 100% 9. Lost Judgment - 44% --> 100 10. Dirt 5 - 0% --> 15% 11. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's about time - 62% --> 64% 12. Jurassic World Evolution - 18% 13. It takes two - 2% 14. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles - 0% 15. Kena: Bridge of Spirits - 0% 16. The Pathless - 0% 17. Guacamelee! 2 - 0% 18. The Forgotten City - 0% Swaps used (4/5)

I really need to go back and complete this as well.

I still need to go back to the original Judgement to complete it, but will do that another time. I'm enjoying it so far and it's actually not too hard with the Shield Weaver armor. This armor heals you automatically. I think if you got the platinum you should have this armor. Also the game skips some content that you don't need to replay. So so far so good, think I will be able to get through it pretty fast, since I'm only playing the main story and no side content.

I actually plan to play it again without the tank controls - as if the game didn't already feel 1998 enough!! Yeah dude this was my first go-around with it, I had a great time?
