Ghost of Tsushima: new “Rivals” game mode (Sept. 3)

First, today we’re excited to reveal Rivals, an all-new mode coming to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on September 3 (including new Trophies and cosmetics!). In Rivals, two teams of two will compete to defeat waves of enemies. With each defeated foe, you’ll collect Magatama that you can use to harm the other team. For example, you can spend Magatama on Shades to block your opponents’ purchases, Curses (health drain, exploding bodies, etc), Hwacha fire, and more. Once you’ve spent enough Magatama, you’ll unlock Final Stand waves. Complete these before the opposing team to win!

 

 

 

How you feeling about this fellas? In my opinion this game is like a fine wine, it just gets better with the time

They did the one thing a lot of us were hoping they wouldn't....  new trophies for it.  Hopefully they aren't ridiculously hard or luck based.  Legends is fun and all, but trophies in competitive modes are usually not fun at all.

The new mode seems interesting and I am looking forward to trying it. It’s also exciting that we will have new trophies, both for the single-player and the multiplayer updates!

Raids weren't too bad.  But PVP trophies can be a slippery slope, depending on what they are they can just suck all of the fun out of a game. 

 

Hopefully they're the new gear mastery, ki level and new skills based and nothing to do with leaderboard ranks.  If it's just to complete so many Rivals matches that would be OK, as long as it's not an obscene amount, but if wins are also involved it might really be awful. 

 

Hopefully they let you set up matches against your friends if that's the case.

 

The one thing that urks me about this though is that they specifically said the Raid was the last new content they were releasing.

 

Maybe this'll be like Final Fantasy XV's mp and the new trophies will be on a completely seperate list.

It's reasonable not to want new multi-player trophies for what was initially a single player game.

I rented my copy of GoT back when I played it, but slap my ass and call me Charlie if it didn’t turn out to be one of the best games I’ve ever played. I am going to buy my own copy in the near future because I’d really like to clean it up and the NG+ trophies give me an excuse to play through the story again. Even though I’m not a huge multiplayer person, the amount of free content they’ve added to the game is quite impressive and by all accounts the raids were well done. This game got totally robbed of GOTY imo.

I think the real issue here is that I am rusty as hell.  Looks good though.  Not too worried about the PVP aspect, it seems like you affect the other team indirectly instead of having to fight them head on.

I'm happy to see there will be more survival maps added. Hopefully there's a trophy for completing the raid on the harder difficulty.

i always hoped legends wouldve had its own platinum. ill buy the stand alone for $20 if it has an entire separate trophy list with a plat.
