Popular Post Mr-ttaM
Hi! I'm ttaM—or Matt (see what I did there?) and it's nice to meet you Anyway, I've just discovered this corner of the forums, and it looks like fun! So here I am! At the time of writing, I'm at 125 , and 20 no-platinum ?, and before I get into what I'm playing / will play, I'm gonna go over what I have played. These go back as far as 2013, and as such, expect misremembered things and rosy retrospection! Let's get into it! log by date (WIP) Spoiler 2021 aka Keep on gaming! It wasn't too bad. Another pretty easy platinum.Goosebumps: The Game • 10th Dec 2018 I enjoyed the books and didn't mind the game too much—but the trophies were so specific that I ended up using a guide to run though which made it less fun.Spyro the Dragon • 25th Nov 2018 Spyro! Another PS1 fav' of mine! TheLittle Adventure on the Prairie • 24th Nov 2018 Another ez pz trophy game. This was a jank platformer and I didn't enjoy it too much.Slyde • 20th Nov 2018 Another ez pz trophy game. I was kind of disappointed by how fast it was. Sliding puzzles can be fun so the fact it lasted only a few minutes was a bit of a let down.Burly Men At Sea • 17th Nov 2018 This was a nice game. Very chill and simple pick-a-path kind of game. What I remember the most fondly is that it had really nice shapes; lots of round!Sly 2: Band of Thieves • 17th Nov 2018 More Sly. I don't remember the story too well, but remember really liking it!inFamous Second Son • 28th Oct 2018 Another inFamous! This one I really enjoyed too. I liked Delsin as a character, angst and all. I know a lot of people were sad not to see Cole but I didn't mind. It was a good game with a nice story. Also heck that one lady with the concrete.N.E.R.O. • 12th Oct 2018 This was a really mysterious and pretty fun puzzler. A lot remained obscure though.Ratchet & Clank • 7th Oct 2018 R&C 2016 in 2018? Yeah, I'm late but that's fine. I missed the movie, but really enjoyed the game. It was my 'first' Ratchet & Clank experience and I got it in about 2 days. It was my 'first' and not first because I played a bit of A Crack In Time but didn't get too far. That was finished later on (see above ) Jack N' Jill DX • 5th Oct 2018 Oh boy, this was not a good game imo.Life is Strange: Before the Storm • 5th Oct 2018 Another Life is Strange, going into the backstories of some characters more? Including one of the biggest mysteries of the OG game? Yes pls, Dontnod.Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy • 4th Oct 2018 NOW I'm a true trophy hunter. My first stack! This time on PS4. Will I do Vita another time for a third? Maybe. Marvel's Spider-Man • 29th Sep 2018 What a wonderful game! Probably my fav of 2018. I enjoyed the Arkham-like combat, the swinging around which was kind of reminiscent of the older Spiderman game I had played, and the story. I'm looking forward to checking out Miles Morales some time!36 Fragments of Midnight • 19th Sep 2018 Another Midnight game. I liked the lil marshmallow so decided to give this one a try too. Another ez plat, and a not terrible experience. So I'm okay with it. LEGO Jurassic World • 7th Sep 2018 More Lego! This time with dinosaurs! The Walking Dead • 10th Jul 2018 I liked the show, decided to check out the game. I had S2 from Nov 2015's PS+ lineup but jumping in at #2 for a heavily story-based game seemed way too weird to me. So I held off that and got around to the first and I liked it. It was emotional but overall a an experience I'm glad I had. I'll get to part 2 soon!Midnight Deluxe • 1st Jul 2018 Another filthy plat. This one with a marshmallow instead of a Mayonnaise. Mayo was a meme. I think this was the true start of the slippery slope towards ez pz.Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age • 11th May 2018 More nostalgia! I liked XII a lot. I'm still not sure if I like the jobs changes, but it brought about new challenges in the game so I guess I'm fine with it. The initial decisions were incredibly difficult though!Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back • 29th Apr 2018 The next Crash! After plenty of frustration on Stormy Ascent I decided to just move forward and finished this one off. Then I went back to trying Stormy Ascent and still haven't really gotten to 3...Persona 5 • 28th Apr 2018 Persona 5 kind of took over my life for a few weeks, in a good way. I love this game so much.Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment • 2nd Apr 2018 Finished off the Platinum to a game I had started over 2 years before. I burned out on the game, because I had played it twice through in a row, but it was nice to come back to and finish up.Life is Strange • 21st Jan 2018 What a delightful game. It was really chill. Until it wasn't. But the story it told was really cool and the time mechanic was fun. The trophy list was pretty simple too so it didn't distract from the story. inFamous First Light • 11th Jan 2018 Another inFamous game? Of course I'm gonna check it out! This one was fun and a shorter experience, but I enjoyed it a bunch. My Name is Mayo • 6th Jan 2018 Am I a true trophy hunter now? 2017 aka heck yeah video games!Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus • 24th Dec 2017 This was a series I missed out on in the earlier generations, so when I picked up the collection on PS3, it was all fresh. It was very cool to play. LEGO The Lord of the Rings • 23rd Dec 2017 Another Lego game! It was nice re-experiencing the movies in a very different light.Sonic Generations • 17th Dec 2017 After Sonic Forces, I decided to go back and finish Generations! It was a lot of fun, both the first and second time. The second go at the game was more focused on challenges and getting S rank times, and eventually poppin' that plat!Sonic Forces • 19th Nov 2017 I really enjoyed Generations (bit of a sequence break here), and the idea of making an OC was really cool. the game was fun, the characters were neat. The story I remember being not amazing, but I had a good time anyway.Yooka-Laylee • 12th Nov 2017 I never played Banjo so didn't get the nostalgia / hype behind this from that, but I liked it a lot. The characters were incredibly fun and animated, and I'm generally a big fan of these collectathon style of games.Gravity Rush Remastered • 23rd Sep 2017 Oh my gosh, what a game! The gravity mechanic felt a little awkward at first but once I 'got it', the game was so much fun. I don't know what the original Vita game was like, but the Remaster was beautiful. I don't remember much about the story—but it was such a cool setting and fun gameplay.Crash Bandicoot • 21st Jul 2017 Another dose of nostalgia! I haven't managed to get a Gold Relic time on Stormy Ascent but maybe one day.Jak II • 18th Apr 2017 So I went back years later and tried again and finally got the race wins I was missing for the final orbs. LEGO The Hobbit • 4th Jan 2017 More Lego! I think I'm officially hookedFinal Fantasy XV • 1st Jan 2017 Like with XIII, I loved this game despite a lot of people not. I played it a bunch at launch and checked out the Ignis, Prompto, Gladio, and Ardyn DLC—but haven't checked out the new Royal content yet, so I haven't tried that out which is supposed to have a lot of improvements. 2016 aka a calm before the platinum stormDiablo III • 30th Aug 2016 I liked Diablo a lot. I hadn't really played any game of it's style before (explore-y looter with the isometric camera). I played as a Demon Hunter and did the Hardcore trophy (reach lv. 30) as a Monk.LEGO Marvel Super Heroes • 29th Aug 2016 Another Lego game, same fun, different franchise. Always a good time.Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth • 2nd Aug 2016 I adored the Digimon World games from PS1, but didn't know what to expect from this but gave it a go and liked it a lot! I remember the gacha side of it being a bit frustrating, but overall I liked this one a lot. The fact it was removed from the store still saddens me. 2015 aka Starting work so time is still not very free and also PS4?!Rocket League • 23rd Sep 2015 I think Rocket League was in my first month of PS+, and I really liked it. The platinum kind of just came naturally through playing. I've played it a lot, but I still don't think I'm very good at it Batman: Arkham Knight • 18th Jul 2015 This was a really nice platinum to get. I had played Arkham City but never got to the platinum, so I was thinking this would be the same. There are so many DLC trophies I haven't even looked into yet though. I found the sheer number of DLC packs overwhelming so never really checked them out...Tales of Xillia 2 • 5th May 2015 A nice follow up to the first. I was a lil sad not to see the troupe from the first game, but enjoyed the game all the same. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim • 25th Feb 2015 I never played Elder Scrolls I–IV, so this was my entry point. I was interested because a school friend would always share stories with their experiences in Morrowind and Oblivion so the series was in my radar, and I enjoyed Skyrim. I got the standard edition, not the legendary one, so was missing DLCs so haven't given those a go yet—but I will get to it some time!Kingdom Hearts II • 10th Feb 2015 I picked of 2.5 as well, and loved it just as much. Kingdom Hearts 2 was my first KH game on PS2 and was just one of those games I fell in love with right away.Final Fantasy X HD • 10th Feb 2015 Another beloved PS2 game on the PS3? Don't mind if I do! FFX is one of my all time favourites. It was my first Final Fantasy—and fun fact, when I first saw it, I had negative interest because I saw the Blitzball section near the start and thought it was a sports game. It wasn't until later I gave it a shot. It was pretty uncanny when I met Yuna because I recognised her but I had no idea where from—turns out it was because she was one of the gull wings in Kingdom Hearts 2. 2014 aka It's my final year of school I should probably study more and game lessKingdom Hearts • 4th Dec 2014 Another instance of experiencing a game I loved again. I picked up the 1.5 collection and played the heck out of KH1, doing stuff I didn't bother with on the PS2 version like exploring the gummi ship routes way more thoroughly.LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 • 2nd Sep 2014 I didn't dive in right away after the first (1-4) game but enjoyed it a lot as well. Not much to say, another fun Lego experience.Tales of Xillia • 27th Apr 2014 I bought this game on a whim based off of nothing other than the cover art, knowing absolutely nothing about the Tales of series, but I'm really glad I did! This game was so delightful.Prototype 2 • 17th Jan 2014 I checked this out because of the inFamous vs. Prototype chatter I saw somewhere and figured I'd give it a shot - and liked it as well. I played this before Prototype 1, which might have been why I didn't find that game as sticky and haven't finished it yet. It's in the pile of shame to return to! 2013 aka OMG I GOT A PS3 LET'S PLAY VIDEO GAMES! My next trip to a games store was fruitful too and I picked up a couple Lego games, and the Jak trilogy which I had played on PS2 but wanted to experience in HD!Jak 3 • 21st Nov 2013 I couldn't get through the races in Jak II which is why that's missing - but didn't have much trouble with Jak 3. It was a lot of fun!Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy • 11th Nov 2013 A simple game with a simple platinum. It was fun to experience again though LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 • 27th Aug 2013 Same as with pirates. I thought Lego would be fun in a franchise I enjoyed. And it didn't disappoint at all. This was also my fastest platinum for the longest time at 5 days, 3 hours, which was pretty cool!LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean • 19th Aug 2013 I had a good time with Lego and enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean films, so figured a Lego video game of it would be fun too. I wasn't disappointed at all! I've adored the Lego games ever since. I have many more to play - and will get through 'em eventually The first few games on here are an interesting story. I got my PS3 and 7 games (incl. Assassin's Creed + Heavenly Sword which don't have trophies) from EB Games and then went to my parents house which was in the sticks with no internet. I don't drive, so I was kind of house-locked and couldn't go out - so kind of just stayed home and played 'em all to completion going off nothing other than the trophy descriptions as I didn't have internet to look things up etc.Final Fantasy XIII-2 • 11th Aug 2013 I was a little torn on this one for a bit, not really understanding the story right away with all of the timey wimey stuff, but enjoyed it nonetheless!Final Fantasy XIII • 31st Jul 2013 I was 4 years late for this one, so I had heard the criticisms of it being linear and characters being boring or whatever, but despite all of that, I liked the game a lot! I enjoyed the end-game grind for resources to make weapons or whatever it was. And have fond memories of grinding the big tortoise bois for some rare materials.inFamous 2 • 6th Jul 2013 Off the back of the first game, I just continued on and played this right after.God of War III • 5th Jul 2013 I had played GOW 1 / 2 on PS2 not too long before this so was in the mood and just nyoomed through. I think I needed 2 playthroughs as I missed some of the collectibles for health upgrades or whatever. They were very well hidden!inFamous • 28th Jun 2013 Anyway, I liked the inFamous games a lot and played 1 and 2 almost back to back. I didn't find much issue in finding all of the blast shards as I was exploring everywhere anyway because everything was so cool. ? - the games without platinums - TODO ? DLC / Games close - TODO For games I'm 1-2 trophies away on, or have DLC pending ⭐Events / Challenges - TODO - Platinum Alphabet - Bean Dive - Fall / Winter Backlog Challenge In progress games - TODO I'm only gonna include games I'm actively playing here. If they haven't been touched in a while, they'll be bumped out - either to 'close' above or off this post entirely. I've no doubt missed something, and a lot of this is still WIP—but I wanted to get something started.

damcrac5
One question... What was going on between July 3rd through the 12? Trying to get 1 trophy on every game you own? LOL. It is crazy to see that many games getting 1-2 trophies and then on to the next.

Yeah, some years were up and some were down. That's how it goes. I think there's probably a correlation between how much I was playing other non-PlayStation games and the number of trophies earned. 10 hours ago, damcrac5 said: One question... That was a weird time, and was all because of the bean dive event over on TrueTrophies which I was really on the fence about, but eventually decided to join. The idea is basically: starting backlog games helps to actually commit to playing them since they're forever on the profile, and there were a lot of games which I owned but hadn't ever played. Here they all are in one picture. Spoiler I've gotten through a few of them, and have a long way still to go.
Mr-ttaM
It's been a while, how is everyone doing? Here's a bunch of updates from the last few months. I'm going to share games I've started (first impressions), finished (closing thoughts), or made significant progress in. I might skip some to keep this kind of concise, and because it's not the most interesting to share. Started 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Barely scratched the surface on this one, but I've been highly recommended it and am looking forward to getting into it. First impressions: Great art style! Lots of reading I was playing late and don't really remember too much of what happened, so will probably restart when I get into it for real and knowing what kind of game it is, will make sure I'm in the right mindset for it. Haven Haven't gotten far here either but the game is beautiful! First impressions: The two MCs are cute as heck together The traversal is really nice! Key We Cute game, but I don't think it's tuned quite right. First impressions: It's fun! The levels are really creative puzzles essentially. I've only played solo, but I think it's designed to be played co-op. The 3 ⭐ times seem literally impossible solo. I tried for a few hours to try get a 3 ⭐ time on an early level and couldn't. I don't think I'll ever want to put in the time to grind this one out, esp. since I don't have a player 2 It's pretty fun and chill, but can also be frantic and chaotic, in the same kind of way as Overcooked. Tales of Arise Although I haven't made too much progress in this yet, the setting is neat. First impressions: I like the 'enemies' teaming up thing. It's a big heck yeah @ not being a jerk and judging people I haven't really played a Tales of game since the PS3 era with Xillia. I'm hoping Arise puts me in the mood to go back and finish up Zestiria, and check out Berseria + Vesperia etc. Progressed in Detroit: Become Human Played a bit more, and am excited to see how the story turns out! I can see it's gonna take a darker turn soon, and get quite emotional, which is good! Genshin Impact 43 / 50 (+14) 73% Huge progress on this in the past couple months. Although I'm playing on the PS4 version (and will until I finish the trophy list here), I'm very close (2 trophies off) to the platinum which the PS5 version has. What's left is finishing some dungeons, finishing some quests, grinding city reputation (time-gated as I can only do so much each week, so am a few months off), and exploring for collectibles. The Wolf Among Us This game has a really fun setting and the story so far is engaging! Think murder mystery with fairy tale characters. I'm only a couple chapters in, but am genuinely excited to see where it goes. I'm expecting lots of twists and am going to try not see through the illusion of choice too much! Murdered: Soul Suspect This is a game I picked up in October to go with spooky horror vibes and it's fun. I didn't finish it up because of trying to beat Friday The 13th during Oct. The game is essentially playing as a ghost detective, trying to solve your own murder by using new ghostly powers. I'm excited to see where it goes. There are so many collectibles which i'm probably missing more than a few of, so am expecting to need a second, maybe-guided playthrough for this one. Finished Death end re;Quest After finishing off the story which took me 20-something hours, I managed to zoom through NG+ in about 2-3 hours and finished again quite quickly and got the rest of the trophies really quick. It was pretty fun trying to go fast. Kotodama This was a weird game which I didn't vibe with too much so I sort of zoomed through it since the story wasn't drawing me in. Mom Hid My Name 7 / 7 (+4) 100% This game was fun. Or at least the puzzle aspect. The minigame at the end not so much... Hitman 3 This was a fun game. I enjoyed it a bunch. In the end I looked up a couple things to finish out the levels. I didn't complete every in-game challenge, which I might go back for at some point for no other reason than it's a fun time. I'll probably do that on the PS5 so I can explore the different maps some more in an even shinier form! Life is Strange: True Colors This was a fun game. I enjoyed the setting and superpower. It was an emotional ride which is what I expected! One thing I do want to call out as I've not seen it in any other game is an accessibility option which gives warnings before loud or potentially triggering scenes so players are ready and can adjust volumes appropriately. I'm really looking forward to the LiS 1 / Before the Storm remasters too, which I think are due early next year. Friday the 13th: The Video Game This might be the biggest grind I've done for a trophy. All in all, the game took me around 150 hours, but the last 6 trophies took me around 100 hours of that which involved playing 1000 games as campers (Councillors) and 1000 games as Jason. It was pretty slow and loading times were long, but it was a nice Netflix and Chill experience and I got through a few shows on the side. First Class Trouble This is a pretty interesting game if you're okay with talking to other players over voice. It's a game of deception where 2 of 6 players are murder robots blending in and trying to kill the other 4 without getting caught before they complete their objective of shutting down the robot mainframe. A couple trophies are incredibly hard to get through legitimate play but luckily I found a friendly boosting group. I've also decided that this is my F for the Platinum Alphabet, so next up is G which will be Gravity Rush 2. √Letter: Last Answer Zooming through this one as I played the original version. But still enjoying the differences from the other version.
Mr-ttaM
Hey all! I've been slack and kinda forgot to drop updates here. So it's been a while! Here's my rough summary of my gaming adventures for the first half of the year. I'd like to get into the habit of doing these updates either once per week or once per game complete and maybe go into more details as all the info will be more fresh. But we'll see how that goes. Trying out a new format; hopefully it looks okay for everyone! For now, have a bulk update! Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Time to complete: 40 hours Overall very emotional game! I had watched part of a playthrough (Markiplier's) back in 2017 when it had first came to Steam, so a lot of the shock and horror parts didn't have the same impact that they would have if I went in blind, but I'm glad I was prepared for it at least. I really liked the extra content added in the Plus ver. though, esp. the side stories, which is more getting to know everyone without the spooks. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Time to complete: 10 hours A shorter experience, but I enjoyed it. I especially liked the perspective-based environmental puzzles. There some something satisfying about searching around and finding just the right spot. Maneater Time to complete: 24 hours Fun and very different game. It was kind of nice just swimming around and looking for collectibles, but also the story was interesting too. Also the DLC was wild! Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Time to complete: 20 hours I don't think I really need to say anything here. You've all heard it's amazing And I have to agree! Genshin Impact Time to complete: About 1000 hours probably? I had most of the trophies much sooner, but just couldn't best the abyss. What changed? I think it was getting Zhongli in the re-run which really helped. It enabled me to use Hu Tao more effectively and that was the DPS boost I needed to clear the last 12-3 chamber in time. My play time is now at about 1600 hours The most recent addition to the squad is Kuki, who is way under leveled to officially join, but she's cool. Itto might come home soon too, we'll see! A Plague Tale: Innocence Time to complete: 21 hours This was a long overdue. I've been intrigued by the game since it was announced, and somehow just never got to playing it. The rat-based puzzle solving was fun. The sound and sight of getting consumed by thousands of rats? Not so much. Hugo's a good boy though and I'm excited for Requiem! Code Realize: Future Blessing Time to complete: Idk, 50 hours? Vita doesn't track. I had fun with this. I have no idea why I did Future Blessing before Guardian of Rebirth, but I don't think it mattered too much. Everything made sense and I liked the Victorian / Steampunk kind of setting a lot. Also Sisi's a good boy. Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star Time to complete: 12 hours This didn't pull me in as much as the first game, but it was fine. I think I enjoyed the radio stories the most. They were funny. Elden Ring Time to complete: 106 hours I was weary to play, but had a really encouraging group of people who helped a lot! My build was int-based sorcerer with glintstone, then rock sling, and transition to using Rotten Breath dragon spells for a lot of stuff. The spit-and-run tactics! I ended up using Crystal Sword a lot for slashy slashy. I couldn't have beaten the game normally, but due to over-leveling with cheese, I managed okay! Sly Minigames Time to complete: A few hours Pretty simple and easy minigames. Took a few tries but there wasn't anything I got stuck on really from what I recall. I had completed 3 of the 4 minigames back when I did Sly 1/2 but hadn't unlocked the last from Sly 3 until more recently. Speaking of Sly 3, I did get the platinum but ran into PS3 hardware issues so am unable to sync it up. And Sly 3 save data is copy-protected so I can't USB it to a different PS3. So it'll be a full 100% replay from scratch. I'll get it eventually, but right now I'm not ready to go back right away. Code Realize: Guardian of Rebirth Time to complete: A few hours I shamefully skipped through this one without reading. I zoomed through it at the end of the month because I needed to finish off a game for an event. I'll catch up and read through it when I get around to doing the collection, Bouquet of Rainbows, before jumping into Wintertide Miracles. Final Fantasy X-2 Time to complete: 203 hours I had played this as a kid, and enjoyed it a lot. Playing it again now had all the nostalgia and I enjoyed it a bunch as I thought I would. Shoutout to Keyblade999 for a wonderful guide / checklist to make getting the 100% infinitely more possible. I struggled so hard back in the day to not miss stuff. The gameplay of Last Mission was honestly fun too. I think it took me maybe 7-8 runs to get a good one going. It was very different to anything I've played before. My Name is Mayo 3 Time to complete: 47 minutes Had a fun time with this. Picked up the game at midnight and finished it in one sitting before bed. And had a real good time. I especially liked the credits. They had a lot of fun making those I bet. Detroit: Become Human Time to complete: 109 hours I played through blind and had a bit of decision anxiety, which is part of what made it take so long. I did manage to get through the game with no casualties though which is awesome! Had I failed that, it would probably be +20 hours to go through again and make new choices Control Time to complete: 120 hours Another fun game! Another that took longer than it probably should have and one that I have no regret in taking my time. I did have to look up a few things at the end, esp. in The Foundation DLC. But overall, things were pretty intuitive! I played with some of the modifiers like aim assist and reduced damage by a bit (was mostly at -30% but upped it to -50% at some points which were tough) Crash Bandicoot: Warped Time to complete: 30 hours? 99h on the trilogy I played the majority of this a while ago, but got stuck on a few relics for a good amount of time and put it down. But after seeing some chatter on Discord with a couple tips, I gave it another shot and got through the main thing that I was stuck on within an hour! After that, everything kinda fell into place and I got through the remaining time trials and cleaned up. I haven't tried the DLC level yet but would like to at least give it a go. Batman: The Telltale Series Time to complete: 46 hours I enjoyed The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, so had an inkling I'd enjoy Batman too, and I did! Some more hard decisions to make here. Some where neither of them was 'better' and both had consequences. It was honestly pretty difficult. I don't know how much impact they had, but I had a good experience nonetheless. Dream Daddy Time to complete: 66 hours This was my pick of game for pride month, and was getting a little worried I'd not be able to finish it in time, when I saw I had 3 / 19 trophies after 2-ish weeks of playing casually, but everything came together in the past couple days and lots of trophies popped! Last night was a good few hours practicing minigolf to get the 18 holes-in-one trophy. It came home in the end.
