Popular Post Dreggit
Good evening everyone, July was an interesting month for me. Anyway, ever onward as they say, please join me in welcoming @grifteskymfning! grifteskymfning Standard Questions How did you come up with your PSN name? This is my second PSN name. After restarting I needed something that was more me and I was playing in a band called Grifteskymfning at the time. It means "desecration of the grave" in Swedish. What games convinced you get your PlayStation 3, Playstation Vita, PlayStation 4 and Playstation 5? I got all of the consoles on launch day, so there weren't really any games that convinced me. I started hunting trophies with the release of the trophy patch for Alone In The Dark, if that counts. What are your top 5 game series and why? Commander Keen, because those were the first games I ever played. I am going to clump Wolfenstein and Doom together - The Romero series, if you will - those were the first two games that defined me as a gamer. Starcraft, since this was the first game that launched me head first into competitive online gaming. And I still watch WSC and ESL whenever a tournament is on. Diablo, playing Diablo 2 and Lord of Destruction with my friends for 80+ hours straight are still some of my best memories from my gaming youth. Jolt Cola fueled insomnia. And I am going to leave number five on this list open, because there will always be something new to look forward to. What are your top 5 games and why? Starcraft and Starcraft 2, see above. Diablo 2, see above. Battleborn, I loved it when it was released. I even loved the lone grind towards the platinum when the shutdown was announced. And I hate to say it, but I did spend about two years /played in World of Warcraft from open beta to Legion, so there's that... Which unreleased game(s) are you looking forward to the most and why? Diablo 4, see above. And The Ascent on Playstation because it looks straight up my alley. Other than that I tend to not follow any hype trains. I have enough games to play as it is. Do you have any other hobbies outside of gaming? Listening to black metal. Hell, black metal is my whole life. I read and collect occult esoteric literature. Going walkabout in the woods, listening to nothing but silence, for days at a time. Does caring for my pet girlfriend count? Cats ears and tail, et al. Top 5 TV shows, Movies, and/or anime, why, and would you recommend them to people? I usually don't watch neither movies nor TV. I would have to say: The Wire The Shield True Detective I really don't see any reason to recommend them to people since I honestly think the whole Hollywood business is causing more harm than good for mankind. Top 5 favorite music bands/group/artists/composers/ost? Black metal, too many bands to pick and choose from. Watain Ghost Shining Slayer - will always be closest to my heart. Spiritually and physically, since I have them tattooed on my body. Your favorite platinum and why? That stupid 激アツ!! パチゲー魂 「CRヱヴァンゲリヲン~始まりの福音~」 platinum. It took me well over a year of constant grinding on FOUR PS3:s, 24 hours a day. Four discs, four consoles, running in chunks of 13 hours straight. I would turn them on, leave for work, reset when I got home, and repeat. Your least favorite platinum and why? I don't know. The Korean stack of Corpse Party Blood Drive, I guess. The debug menu left by the devs that pops the platinum felt good at the time, but it has since lost its shine. Have you ever been tempted to switch over to the Xbox/Nintendo/PC gaming ecosystems? I have a $5000 PC, six screens, two RTX Titans, 40TB of hdd space, the works; but I only ever use it to play Hearthstone. If you could have one game from any gaming generation be remade or re-released, which one would it be and why? I would like a physical PS3 port released of Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Burning Earth. If you know, you know. Or a PS5 port of World of Warcraft with complete controller support. Sign me up for one of those. How far are you willing to go for a platinum? I think I've already answered that. Four PS3:s running 24 hours every day for over a year. Just buying the Japanese import games, extra consoles, four turbo controllers and a quad multi-viewer seems silly when you think about it. If you could give Sony direct feedback of business decisions in the last year, and the latest console generation, what would you tell them? Remove trophy stacking, remove the digital storefront, buy Neon Giant Games. Stop trying to outscrew Steam with crap games. Stuff like that. What is your favorite thing about PSNP? It helps me keep track of my backlog, and also for stalking my real life friends and their gaming habits. PSNP has always been consistent, and that should be praised. What is your least favorite thing about PSNP? In the forum rules it says that you shouldn't name and shame, even though I could think of a few. The toxicity on this forum is even worse than on GameFAQs sometimes. Is there anyone in the PSNP Community you would like to give a shout out too and if so why? @maxjikolo, @Smashero, @HuntingFever, @ArmoredSnowman, @Nitro, @AvengedEvil and all the other folks who raise hell in the trophy list updating thread. PSNP Community Questions Mind showing us a pic of your physical collection? I would, but when I am typing this I am in an hotel room about a hundred miles from home. I will provide pictures at a later date, either in the interview thread or separately. What game in it do you treasure the most? My biggest treasure is not really a game, but the Vita Steelbook for Assassin's Creed Liberation. I also like the Latin America exclusive God of War - Omega Edition. If you could have one glitch from a game occur in real life, what would it be (duplication, walk through walls, invincibility, etc)? Is the skirt removal in Nier Automata a glitch or a feature? Nobody knows. What PSNP event that you've participated in was your favorite? Mayus' spelling bee, way back. I sort of went out of my way to write PLAYSTATION in order with the games I platted. It earned me the forum avatar that I still use to this day. Have you had any crazy stories while driving high speed trains? Mind sharing? We used to have Ingvar Kamprad, founder of IKEA, as a regular commuter. He was very kind and would seek me out and ask if he could ride in front with me. I believe I made a friend in him. What’s it like being a train driver? Is it a lonely job, or does it suit you? It is a lonely job and that is the main reason why it suits me. I go to work, I follow my time table, I go home. It is a forgotten job. When you get on a bus you say hello to the driver, but you almost never see the driver of a train, and I like that. Then there is the part of running over humans, but that is a conversation for another day. I am just going to say that it takes a special kind of man to kill another person and then go back to work the next week to risk doing it all over again. What’s the best and worst thing about living in Sweden? It is home. It is where I was born and it is where I will die. But it's more Absurdistan than Sweden now, our foreign policies have screwed this country beyond repair. I won't bring any more politics into this interview. Is there a Swedish snack the whole world should know about? Not really a Swedish snack, but I do love blood pudding with lingonberry jam. Whenever foreign friends of mine come to visit I always make it from scratch. If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life (let’s pretend listening to the same thing over and over wouldn’t drive you up the wall), what would it be? Spoiler What’s the most physical pain you’ve ever been in? I did break my skull once, but that is mostly a blur, so I am going to go with getting my ribs or knees tattooed. Favourite pizza topping? Pineapple, and it is on this hill that I make my stand. To the death. How it feels being in the Top 10 of your local country leaderboard? Haha. I hadn't even noticed, I am going to buy myself a slice of carrot cake. I would possibly be much, much higher if I also stacked digital arse gravy games. Limiting myself to physical games only (almost) is a blessing. Did you ever feel tempted to switch to digital? Why/Why not? No, never. First of all I like owning my gaming media, I am more of a collector than a gamer at this point, and my collection takes up its own room in our apartment. And it's only a matter of time before you loose access to all your digital purchases once Sony decides to terminate some old PS3 server. And PS4 after that, and so on. What is your rarest physical game? NBA Elite 11. Will your boosting farm ever become reality? We actually did a 10 console test run with 16 players, completing a 24 hour run of Quantum Theory. For those of you who don't know, which is all of you, I currently own 16+ PS3 consoles that are all connected via quad viewers to a bunch of random TVs with the explicit purpose of running a boosting farm for dead multiplayer games. We have done a complete FarCry 2 lobby and most recently a big LAN playing Quantum Theory, all from the safety of my gaming room. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it. What's the next step? How did you approach Black Metal, and what is your favorite band and album? recommendations? Funny story, I grew up listening to Slayer, Motörhead and KISS, and it was my 70 year old grandmother who got me my first Immortal and Darkthrone albums, "since they looked like KISS" with their corpse paint, and from that day forward I was hooked. Bands I always listen to and always recommend at any chance I get are the Swedish kings of black metal - Watain. Also Panphage, Cult of Fire, the real Batushka and Funeral In Heaven. I could name a hundred more, but I am going to stop myself right there. Spoiler Do you know my friends Martin? He's also Swedish. Of course, we crew up together. But then again, everybody knows Martin. Spoiler What happens when the earth rotates backwards one day each full moon? I am going to need to lie down now... Would you consider yourself as being successful, if so, how would you inspire others to complete their goals? Yes. I am in love, I have my dream job and I make more money than I can spend, that must count for something. First of all I would tell people to stop comparing themself to others, put your stupid phone down and power through. That's what I did and it got me where I wanted. Never give up. Ever. Sony has a history of creating limited edition consoles and making a number of those editions exclusive to marketing deals (such as with Taco Bell) and regions (commonly JP specific). When do you think we will see our first limited edition PS5 and what do you hope for them? This is going to sound hypocritical, because it is, but I utterly despise limited editions. We live on an ending planet with limited resources, so fine if you make a PS5 to take peoples mind of things, but the second you start selling/buying another version, another skin, artbooks, soundtracks and whatnot, it's just self gratification and in the end it's harmful to the planet. Like I said, I know the hypocrisy coming from a games collector, but I go out of my way to avoid those kinds of things. Standard editions I can live with, a disc and a case, everything else I would gladly skip. If you could revive a genre of games (not just a game in general, but anything within a genre that has fallen off), what would it be and why would you like to see it return? I grew up playing MUDs (multi user dungeons, think of it like World of Warcraft without any graphics or just multiplayer Notepad) and I am the arch wizard of a 30 year old, and counting, Swedish MUD, which is believed to also be the very first MUD in another language than English. So more of those. A true revival of the graphics-less game in an age where we're slowly loosing our imagination. When you need to calm down or cool off, where do you go and what do you do? I walk into the woods and don't come out until I am zen. I am actually looking for a plot of land so I can build my very own off grid cabin, from the ground up, using only my hands and my tools. Other than that I blast my black metal at volume 11 until everything else goes away. What is one strange fact about yourself that might be interesting to know? After dating my new girlfriend for only a few days, I got her name tattooed on the inside of my lower lip. _______________________________________________________________ Let us give thanks to all that participated in asking questions to our interviewee Spoiler @Beyondthegrave07, @Charizarzar, @KenjiCBZ, @AvengedEvil, @kevao97, @DoctorDrPepper, @Rally-Vincent--- Please join me soon in where we hopefully reveal the August candidates Edited August 12, 2021 by Dreggit
KenjiCBZ
You like pineapple on the pizza? That's enough to me, this means war ? Good read, I had read about NBA Elite 11 few weeks ago, owning it sure is a great accomplishment.

Smashero
Hohoho! TBH - I am actually honored to be called together with such great members of PSNP community... And sorry for being PITA in trophy updating list thread I stopped recently, since I quit playing crappy games, but I am still on duty :]. Ok, back on track: It was really entertaining! Thanks for sharing this with us! I remember you mentioned once your plan for all of those crazy number of PS3s connected together with the screens. I am still more than curious how does it look like ;). And of course respect for PH only versions. (anyway I am living in Sweden now, so... ) But I HAVE TO ask: So WTF is with this title: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/663-激アツ-パチゲー魂-crヱヴァンゲリヲン始まりの福音/grifteskymfning ? Some RNG drop or something which happens once per year? Yeah, I could Google it, but it would be more awesome to get an info from somebody who actually got it with an enormous effort!! Greetz from Skellefteå ;). Edited August 11, 2021 by Smashero

DaisyVilla102
Thanks for sharing with us--that was an interesting read! And I must add: pineapple and metal -- excellent taste! ??? Listened to the Panphage album you posted and like the way it sounds. Wish I was about 10 years ahead in my effort to learn Swedish because I understand none of the lyrics (but which is also true for most music in my native language, so not a big deal to me ?). The album description on bandcamp makes me want to look them up, though.
