meat locations?

there's a lot of conflicting information about mow much meat there is in the game.

the guide says that there's 12, a tracking website says that there's 10 and ign says that there's 17.

 

im wondering how much there is and where they all are

 

also how does meat work exactly?
does it respawn on every repeat playthrough?
