If Gran Turismo 6 is anything like 5 it will be getting updated quite often so I think a thread dedicated to the updates can go here. I'll include patch notes (if available) as well. If I haven't updated the OP after a patch is released feel free to reply with the patch notes and version number and I'll add it to the OP as soon as I can.

Patch 1.02

Released: December 18th, 2013

File Size: 1255MB

Patch Notes:

Gran Turismo 6 receives its first update outside the initial day one release patch. Weighing in 1255mb, this patch adds the Red Bull X Challenge allowing players to try out the newest Red Bull X concepts created in collaboration with F1 designer Adrian Newey. As opposed to the single concept presented in yearly updates through out GT5′s lifespan, we now get the Red Bull ‘X’ cars in three distinct flavors: X2014 Junior, X2014 Standard and X2014 Fancar. A surprising addition is the new Red Bull Racing Kart, which features design cues from its big brother prototypes.

red-bull-x-challenge-1.02-7-638x358.jpg

The Red Bull X Challenge currently only has the first two events open; the Red Bull Kart Masters and the Red Bull X2014 Junior Championship. The events featuring the full sized X2014 Standard and Fancar will be made available at a later date.

Additionally, players that participated in the 2013 GT Academy Demo will receive Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi’s GT-R Nismo GT3 N24 as a special gift for European players.

A few other changes to the game were also included in the form of smaller tweaks to features and credit payouts, with the Login Bonus from Gran Turismo 5 making a return. As detailed in the PlayStation Europe blog post:

Consecutive Login Bonus
When you login online for consecutive days, a bonus to all credits awards will be added for each consecutive day: 110% for the 1st day, 130% for the 2nd day, 140% for the 3rd day and so on, until you will receive 200% bonus on the 5th day. Be sure to login every day to earn more credits!

Credits earned in Career Mode increased
The amount of credits earned in Career Mode have been increased. Rewards for Novice Class races have been raised to approximately 110%, for National B Class up to approx. 130%, for National A Class to approx. 140%, for International B Class to approx. 150%, for International A Class to approx. 160%, and for Super Class they have been raised to approximately 170%. This may give good incentive to go back and try some races you’ve already cleared!

Entry requirements for Seasonal Events lowered
The requirements to enter Seasonal Events have been changed. Now players will only require a National B Licence in order to participate (previously they needed a National A Licence). Following this Update and only for a limited time, there will be unique special events that will award cars as prizes, so don’t miss this opportunity, and remember to login online!

Bonus Events within Seasonal Events
From 20 December 2013 3:00AM GMT to 17 January 2014 3:00AM GMT the Seasonal Events will host a special bonus event. If you obtain a Gold award in all events, the credits reward will add up to 3,000,000 credits, and combined with the Consecutive Login Bonus, this can multiply to a maximum 6,000,000 credits!

Furthermore, a second bonus event is planned to be held from 2 January 2014 3:00AM GMT to 30 January 2014 3:00AM. Again, this event will allow you to win up to 6,000,000 credits when combined with the Consecutive Login Bonus, so if you participate in both special events you could earn up to 12,000,000 credits!

Patch 1.07

Released: May 14th, 2014

File Size: 961MB

Patch Notes:

bmwvgt_009-638x358.jpg

Concomitant with this morning’s 2 hour maintenance period, update v1.07 for GT6 has been released and it brings some teased content we’ve been looking forward to for some weeks.

Alongside a few minor functionality tweaks to online mode, the BMW Vision GT car makes its bow to bring the Vision GT project back on track following a long hiatus since the Mercedes racing car back in January’s v1.04.
bmwvgt_010-300x168.jpg

Looking like a 1970s silhouette racer based on the current 2-series, the BMW Vision GT offers up 541hp (549PS/404kW) from its three litre turbo straight six, with 598lbfft (680Nm) at only 1,900rpm. The 1,180kg (2,601lb) kerb weight, kept down by extensive carbon fibre use, is balanced 50:50 front to rear.

Like Mercedes’ offerings, the BMW car will be available to buy from the game’s Vision GT section but also can be won in a new Seasonal Event employing the car – regardless of the laptime achieved. However, there’s a bonus of up to 400,000cr (with 200% login bonus) for a gold performance:

BMW Vision GT Super Lap/Nürburgring GP/F
Gold – 1’59.000
Silver – 2’03.000
Bronze – 2’12.000

Weighing in at a mighty 961Mb, the update also brings some functionality changes to Open Lobby and replay modes:

With the Ayrton Senna Tribute content due before the end of the month, some of which is teased within this update, May will be a good month for GT6 players.

Adjustments to the Open Lobby
- [Endurance Race] has been added to the [Room Mode] option within [basic Settings] of the Event Settings screen.
- [Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption] has been added to [Time Trial Settings] options (“OFF”, “Normal”, “Fast” or “Very Fast” can be selected)
- Choice of [start Type] has been added to the [Race Settings] for Qualifier, Time Trial, and Drift Trial modes. You can now select from [Final Corner Start] or [Pit Start].
- When [Grid Start with False Start Check] is selected in [Race Settings], signal lights will be displayed as start indicators.

New features added to “Replay” and “Watch Race” modes
- Button controls can now be used to: Switch between “Full View” and “Live Timing”; to turn the “Driver List Display” ON/OFF; to switch the “Information Display” and to change the target car.
- The “Keyboard Switching Feature” has been added. A USB keyboard can be used to switch the “Information Display” and to change the view.

Head into our forums for more discussion on v1.07!

Edit: Users are noting that after the download and install phase there is a second, lengthy install phase within the game itself. There’s also a smaller hotfix patch immediately afterwards. You will need to allow a surprising amount of time for the update as a result!

Patch: 1.09

Released: June 18th, 2014

File Size: 598MB

Patch Notes:

As revealed yesterday, Gran Turismo 6 has increased its track list by one with the addition of the Red Bull Ring – formerly the A1 Ring – ahead of this weekend’s Formula 1 race at the location.

i1zzDziF3Urzqz-200x200.jpgBundled in with the v1.09 update, this free DLC includes both the long F1 circuit, around which GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough will be piloting his GP3 car at the weekend, and a shorter layout. The tracks are added by way of a 598Mb update, available now.

Also coming along expectedly is the Volkswagen Vision GTIconcept, announced earlier in the month at the Wörthersee festival. This 500hp roadster is available to win in its own dedicated Seasonal Event – again, regardless of the laptime – and has been added to the Vision GT section of the game too. A special Vision GTI racing outfit has been added, it too coming as a prize for the Seasonal Event.

toyota-ts030-638x358.jpg

A little more unexpectedly, the stable of cars in GT6 has swelled once more. The GT Academy RJN Motorsport GT-R NISMO GT3, as used in the final round of this year’s GT Academy event is probably not so much of a surprise, but the update also brings the Lexus IS F CCS-R ’11 (as raced by GT Academy 2010 winner Jordan Tresson) and Toyota’s TS030 Hybrid.

14472426773_fc7fb92548_o-638x358.jpg

The v1.09 update also brings the usual raft of detail and driving physics alterations:

Adjustments to the physics simulation model

The physics simulation model of “Gran Turismo 6” has been updated with the following changes:
  • The dynamics of the car on surfaces with cornerstones and bumps have been improved
  • The effect of the tyre geometry has been changed (mainly for the “Camber Angle” option)
  • The handling of some rear heavy cars has been improved;

The default settings of the tuning parts have also been adjusted to match the above changes.

Other cars adjustments

On the various Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X models, it is now possible to enable the [Active Steering] under the [Driving Options] of the “Quick Menu”.

Other offline improvements and adjustments

- [Data Logger] can now be opened from the “Quick Menu” of Time Trial events. Please note that only limited features will be available in this way. Please refer to the online manual for more details.

- A [Reset to Default] option that returns the car to its showroom condition has been added under [Car Settings].

- Signal Starts are now enabled on tracks with signals.

Other online improvements and adjustments

- A countdown is now displayed on the bottom right part of the Open Lobby screen, showing the time before an event starts and the time when the track voting ends.

- The uploading time for both Drift Trials and Time Trials (Section) have been changed.

The patch is available as of this very moment and weighs in at 598Mb. An install phase of around 30 minutes is also required and gamers are advised that this may differ from what is displayed on screen.

Did they patch the 20 Million credit patch? i did not read it in the notes.

The glitch where you could revert back to 1.01 and sell the Mercedes Vision GT car? According to a GTPlanet member that has been fixed and you can no longer do it.

Here they talk about the free nissan gt-3 for competing in last academy. Does anyone actually got that free car already?

edit: i did not get the car right after the update, but when i started up the game today it got the in-game update screen twice. i guess they patched the hudson mario andretti car into the dealers, and also the free gtr gt-3 so i have it now.

More information on the Ayrton Senna Tribute content headed for Gran Turismo 6 was confirmed in a post on the official PlayStation Blog late yesterday, including a release date of Tuesday, May 27th.

Details of two “Senna Challenges” in the game have also been released, which will take place using the Lotus 97T on re-constructed 1985 versions of Monza and Brands Hatch.

The goal will be to beat Senna’s pole-position lap times at each circuit (1’25.084 and 1’07.169, respectively), with the car being awarded for achieving the Bronze time (it will also be available to purchase with in-game credits from a new “Senna” dealership without completing the events).

As announced yesterday, one of Senna’s first DAP racing karts will also be released in the game at that time. Stay tuned for more announcements!

i have a lot of stuff in it but i dont think its disc problem since every other game is working perfectly fine

formating disc is not an option for me (i wont do this just for one game)

i've read that some ppl have exactly same problem but noone found any solution to that ....

another thing:

when i launch game with no internet (so im not signed into my psn account) and no patches installed game launch as a ver 1.00 BUT... i have to start from 0. my progress so far is not there

is it normal or something happened to my save file as well?

stupid update wont let me play the game.....

i guess ill wait till next update and if it wont fix anything ill just sell the game :/

1.09 added to the OP. This was one hell of an update and it just cements the fact that PD is a great developer. Not only did they add a brand new track and three new cars, they gave it all to us for 100% free.

I'm wondering if the next update will be Spec II. PD generally goes from .1X to the next 1.0 version from what I've seen. GT5 went to Spec 2 after the 1.13 update.

I hope we'll see Spec II soon. I think that is when PD will introduce the track creator and hopefully some physics updates as well.

New patch is here (1.12) and PD gave us new Vision car ( Toyota FT1)  and new Nissan GT-R NISMO edition.

But thats not all:

We also get new track - Circuito de la Sierra and along with it new game mode (Time Rally)

More info about it

Check my video from first challenge of new game mode on Circuito de la Sierra:

There is also a new feature to add additional gauges and few more things.
