Popular Post Justin__Harris
I wake up this morning to an angry message from a boosting partner for a group I joined several days ago. It was to do the Sniper Boosting Method for Level 50. We talked, and I told him the times I'd be available, and even asked if they wanted to join this other group I was in doing the team boosting trophies as well. So you can have multiple people to help if one isn't available. Obviously that makes sense, right? So this guy doesn't message me all weekend, and keep in mind, he's the group leader. So I leave the group, because it's Monday now and I still have 25 levels to go. This is why I don't like MP trophies because of the uncertainty of whether or not you can actually get people. But this dude sends me an angry, woe is me message super early this morning about how people are unreliable and always screw him over, as he's been trying to get to Level 50 for five years. Five years? Are you fucking kidding me? You had five years to get this done and you're bitching about how no one helped you out consistently. So my question to him was why didn't he do that tedious Arcade Mode grind. It fucking sucks. 620 times to get to level 50 at 3-4 minutes per run? That's terrible. But definitely doable. I started this grind a month ago, and the multiplayer only a few weeks ago. I'm at Level 25 and I know it's going to be a pain in the ass to get this done, but the option is there. I can do it solo. So I don't really understand why this guy is bitching and complaining. You couldn't do 124 runs of this per year over the last five? Or were able to ever find any legitimate matches over the years to just level-up normally, especially five years ago when the servers likely had more people? You literally waited until the last moment, don't communicate on the last fucking weekend before the servers close, and then bitch when the person leaves your group, feeling slighted like you're being left high and dry. Well, sorry... but you need to do a better job at communicating. I do feel for the guy though. It really does suck when people start up or join groups, agree to help others with their trophies, but then bail after immediately getting the ones they need. I had to join four different groups to get the necessary trophies done. I anticipated this. Because people are selfish fucking assholes. Or in my case, I started three different groups but kept having people insisting I help them grind up to Level 50, even though they couldn't help me because all the trophies I needed were multiplayer DLC trophies of which, they didn't buy the DLC. But of course they didn't tell me that until after the group closed, and the time started, basically forcing me to start another group and hope to find someone to play. I did eventually find some really good people that not only helped me with mine and vice-versa, but actually stuck around to help others. Shout-outs and kudos to the players @Bilal_Ibrahim, @Blindstrife, and @JaYk0413 - These dudes did their part and more. But since this is a rant about boosting and proper etiquette, here's a few things some of you douchebag players might want to consider in the future if you want to get help from others, because honestly, I keep track of people like you. You know who you are. So here's a few tips on proper etiquette that should be obvious as hell, but people still baffle me. Maybe it's true what they say about gamers being a bunch of antisocial dunces lacking general niceties and understanding of human language and communication. 1. If you're a group leader, it is YOUR responsibility to communicate and set everything up. You started the group. Take the lead. Don't depend on others to do your job for you. 2. Stay the course. If all you need is one or two trophies, but then need to bounce, don't join groups that require four-to-five people for a lot of the trophies because when you jet, you literally fuck over everyone else trying to get this done. There's no 'I' in team, and yeah yeah, you can spell 'me' with two of those letters, but that's still a total dick move. Try to match in groups specifically with the trophies you need so that maybe you have a common goal and don't look like a jerk when you ditch everyone else. And if you can't do that like I couldn't... Be cool, and help out others because you damn well know if you needed the trophies they need, you'd be just as mad when someone like you leaves early. 3. Do some research. Read the guides and keep track of what trophies you need. Now sometimes directions aren't super clear, even with a video, so I'm not going to be harsh to people that didn't fully understand every trophy. Even, I didn't. But it is a pain in the ass when someone joins the group and doesn't know at all what they need, or how to do it. 4. Set firm dates and times, and be aware of everyone's time zone. It's really annoying to say we're going to play Friday night, only to have a couple people either forget to show or not show up at all. I get that life happens. Even I was delayed a few times. But I always made sure to let my groups know what was happening. 5. Communicate often. Use the PS App on your phone or console. Double-check the Boosting Sessions here on PSNP (which I'll admit I've been guilty of not doing because I found out just yesterday my email notifications on this website weren't active, but that's fixed now). This will help you out if something comes up, instead of people just going radio silent when it's time to play and they're a ghost. 6. Have fun. We're trophy hunters for a reason. The difficulty and tedium is part of the game, baby. The only ones making us do this is ourselves. And if we're not enjoying the highs and lows to get the ultimate sense of accomplishment from hearing that pop after potentially failing or grinding for hours, then I don't know why we bother... unless maybe you just have OCD. In which case, damn... sorry. That's rough. Also: Now many would argue that there was plenty of notice to when the servers were closing, this is true. Rockstar gave us plenty of time to get this done not just with the nine years previous, but also with the several months notice before. I honestly just didn't know about it until a month ago when I was helping people out with the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection and the person I played with mentioned this to me. Max Payne 3 was always on my list, but had that whole, "I'll get around to it later. New York Minute Hardcore sounds like a nightmare." So I'm not going to complain about the servers closing. There's a reason for it. Before the last minute trophy hunting, the servers were pretty dead, from what I can tell. Complaining about Rockstar closing their servers that relatively no one plays compared to GTA and RDR2 is just completely illogical. Meanwhile, I think I got 300 Arcade Mode runs to go. So I'm gonna put on some James Bond movies and just go for it and know that if I don't accomplish this, I have no one to blame but myself. Okay, rant over. Good luck grinding it out everyone. Popular Post Vergil
The fact that we can do it offline is a blessing itself. I definitely choose that over having to organize something with several other people. Especially some you can't really trust

Popular Post Anordinarybloke
Not related to this game, but I have found it reverse when hosting sessions. Some people also join the sessions as a way to be carried without any effort on their behalf.
Sorelhoshi
completely agree boosting with people is a hit or miss. I gave up trying to boost with people I have multiple consoles to avoid dealing with people
TrophyChief
My experience has been hot or miss too. I try to focus on the positives and I can’t thank my fellow boosters enough for the help they have provided for me in the past and this site in having the ability to organize through gaming sessions. I hope my assistance to others have helped them too. In fact, made some great friends and connections through boosting. Yeah, there is etiquette that should be followed and if you are lucky enough to get in contact with those that are good in communication and respectful of your time, that’s a win in my book.

JakoMan64
Yo that is common it happened alot across certain online trophies in the past where 1 or 2 just leave and stop helping after they got the online trophies they needed during that session. Then you gotta find backup etc 10 hours ago, dieselmanchild said: There’s actually some kind of a rating system tied into the sessions where players & the organizer can rate their peers after a session ends. Yeah this site has that now for a few months, similar like trueachievements.com for xbox achievements and after the sessions. Sometimes some ppl have a thing they give negative review even after you did great and helped everyone. Or they act salty when you helped everyone but they just give a negative. Popular Post AJ_Radio
Very sorry to hear this. The OP is exactly why I try to avoid a lot of multiplayer stuff these days, especially if it's something that I have to boost. You can't always trust the people you're with, regardless if they're the group leader or not. I've been trying to do Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for quite some time. You need a group of six people to boost effectively, one for getting to level 50, two for doing all the objectives for AEOTM (Abstergo Employee of the Month). The bad servers combined with the age of the game make getting those online trophies a real hassle. I'm totally fine when games only ask you to try out some multiplayer. I absolutely hate it when games with a tacked on multiplayer require you to spend several hours on it, and have trophies that require multiple people that all know what they're doing. I was very lucky I had somebody PM me offering me his help in boosting the online. Someone he was with had two copies of Max Payne 3 and two PS3 consoles, which eliminated the need for another player. I've known you for a while Justin, I remember talking to you when you first joined these forums and you seem like a pretty chill dude. I did Rank 50 in about two to three weeks of off and on playing. If this guy has been trying to get Rank 50 for five years, he is completely incompetent. Not messaging you over the weekend should of been the sign that you cannot trust this guy. Hope you can pull through.
kfree7
Our crew of around 15 gamers works to make sure we have enough committed to boosting. Not a fan ppl out of our crew boosting with us. No crew members tend to be selfish. We want reliable and ppl that show up on time. I’d recommend working to find 6-8 friends that are reliable to play co op with. We vote for what to boost. Many of the games I’ve completed so I’m just helping the crew get there plat.

It’s sad, but the reality is that people are far more likely to use a rating system like the one we have to leave negative feedback rather than positive. I’ve boosted many games and can only remember one or two times where I actually remembered to return to the session page afterwards and upvote everybody. But if you get some asshole troll or some salty guy who got booted from the group chat or something like that, chances are much higher he’s going to be motivated to leave negative reviews on the session. Not that it even matters with the current system but you get the point. 28 minutes ago, AJ_Radio said: I've been trying to do Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for quite some time. Coordinating 6+ people to punch each other in the face for hours on end is difficult enough, but then you’ve got AEOTM which is highly technical and requires a lot of precise coordination, and of course the wonderful try hards (mostly Brazilian it seems) who will join your game and start playing like their life is at stake. Oh man, good times.
Aodir
A rating system for these sessions sounds very good on paper but in practice it could easily be inflated and negatively abused by others, ultimately rendering it useless. Honestly, the solution to bad boosting sessions is to simply make your own and try to provide the best experience possible for everyone involved. Even then, you won't be safe from pairing up with people you end up deeming as unreliable for a variety of reasons. The same applies to those who join you, they may very well decide your session was not what they expected and be inclined to leave after a while. When you boost with strangers all you can guarantee upfront is everyone in the group wants the same thing, how you get there however will always be a gamble, and you should be able to deal with both positive and negative aspects of it. After a while, you'll end up with a small group of people you've kept contact with after successful boosts, and they will become your first go-to option before setting up a session.
FaLLeN_717
I completed Max Payne 3 in 2014 (got it on flash slae for $3), had a group of 4-5 people that helped each other with misc online trophies, and I did the level 50 trophy solo, I don’t like to rey on other people for trophies, and that group leader is just an a**hole. Just for admitting that he goes for this trophy for 5 years, makes him patetic.

Wild-Arms-R
Yeah boosting on this site really sucks tbh. I think I’ve had maybe 1 successful session in my 5years on here. The best boosting partners I found were the ones I messaged directly and we were able to all set up good time frames and it was a pretty good time. Shout out to @Confux- for helping me with the Horde dlc in Dying Light, even tho he already had all the trophies. Guys a chad and beast. *in a whisper You should check out his trophy list while your at it just saying. We really need more ppl like that when it comes to boosting, that way topics like this wouldn’t need to be made in the 1st place. Alos88
The boosting system on this site isn't very good compared to simply allowing for boosting threads- as a matter of fact it's near-useless for more obscure titles. I have no idea why it's there when the odds of finding someone to boost an old, forgotten title using it is extremely low.
sepheroithisgod
I prefer smaller boosting groups that only need one of two additional players. One tip I see you didn't mention is to take turns when boosting trophies. For instance, if a trophy was to boost 1000 kills, alternate every 50 or a hundred. This helps prevent the "classic" your partner got the trophy and bounced scenario. If you have a good boosting session, take a moment and see if you both have some other games in common. It's really beneficial to have boosting partners you can trust and are competent if you don't have some IRL friends to rely on. Use the friend group system to make a boosting friends group. My past experience with boosters has been a very mixed bag as well and one of my biggest gripe is that no site allows “naming & shaming”. Sometimes to the point of thinking about starting my own site specifically for that. “Nameandshameyourassholeboosters.com” There are ppl out there that the community SHOULD be warned of and you can’t do it. Yes, I understand why no site wants to deal with that he said/they said hassle but I’d be allowing receipts. Anyway, some disasterous boosters in the past make me very, very hesitant to ever having to rely on public boosts and if it wasn’t for the “catchup with server closure” game lately I’d still not be doing any boosting anymore. On the other hand I’ve met some of my best psn friends via boosting and I will absolutely buy any game that THEY’d need a boost on for those rare treasures. Which brings me to back to Spaz/ @AJ_Radio. I’ve had the pleasure of boosting a few trophies with him recently & I can only recommend him as a booster to anybody’s sessions. He knows the requirements of the troohies he needs, he fulfills them in record time, he is a skillful gamer that doesn’t need 3 attempts to land a headshot, etc. In short: he knows his stuff and he doesn’t waste anybody’s time. AC Brotherhood soon, Spaz?

I think every game should have at least one general boosting thread, but this is an exception and it's only allowed for a few games, like exchanging items in Rocket league or h4h in lbp. it's just stupid and ridiculous not to allow one thread per title, it would help the whole community so much. Baker
I usually don’t even bother joining boosting sessions anymore, especially when there is no limit on people who can join. Setting one up yourself is even worse, because I always think nobody takes it seriously and you get a lot of no shows. It always ends up in disappointment. It’s better to look up some people here on the forums and ask them directly. So here we go: I’m looking for two or three people to do the Blackout trophies in Black Ops 4. If you’re interested, let me know. ?
