BSAA_Advisor
Use to be males, now I prefer to play as females.Just a smoother and less boring playthrough and males characters have bored me after years of using them lol Also Jill Valentine & her more inventory slots, had a lot of say there Edited November 14, 2014 by BSAA_Operative

LianshiSaonji
I prefer male, as I am male.If it's an RPG where you can have a companion (i.e Dragon's Dogma) I'll be male and my companion will be female, it's how I used to play mmo's so it sorta stuck.Or with Destiny, I do 1 of each.Male Awoken Warlock.Female Human Titan. Then probably Male Exo Hunter eventually. SkyMirror0808
I play and don't mind both. Generally I would prefer female characters. Males can be badass. Females can be badass AND sexy.
Castillo_82
Always female and with a screaming hair colour. In fighter games I always go for the pink/red haired ladies for some reason, like C. Viper in SF, Baiken in GG and Skarlet in MK.
raged_t-rex
I like a bit of both, if you play a game like tomb raider then your obviously forced to play as a female Edited November 15, 2014 by raged_t-rex
Magician_Alice
I usually choose female.
Kittet3
In games where the dialog/gameplay is affected by my gender choice, I usually go male. In fighting games (aka Tekken, Soul Calibur),, I go female because I usually like their outfits or hair. In Onlne games (Defiance), I go female because I don't want to decieve the other players, and there usually isn't that much of difference between the characters. In games like Borderlands, where each character has a special ability, I don't choose based on gender but rather on which ability I work best with. dino_22479
more often male, depends on the game i guess
Dreakon13
I find it kind of weird if a game offers you a choice of gender and your first reaction is to pick the opposite one. That being said, I can appreciate if there are gameplay or story related reasons for it... that's an entirely different situation. If there isn't though, and that's the first direction you go in. Eh...
indigoware
Always female, if I have the option. It just feels weird for me to play the opposite gender, if I can play my own and be comfortable.
BSKkayfabe
I Like seeing strong women characters in games, no misogyny here lol
Piramidoglowy
Most console games I play are RPGs. In most cases the gender of characters is set. But if I have a choice, I prefer females. Let's face it - I'm a guy, and I'm gonna spend a lot of time with this character (I like spending time on grinding levels). And if I have to keep looking at the same character.... Yeah, I know, someone will say I'm sexist and so on. But to my defence I'll say that in some cases (Skyrim, Fallout 3, Dragon Age 1&2) I choose male. Same thing goes for all of my 'paper' RPG characters (my favourite Pathfinder character is a male, dwarven lich wizard). So, to sum it up - in most cases (about 3/4) I'm gonna go with female, but in some specific situations I might go with male

Sephaizen
Depends on the game. In a fighting game I pick characters i'm good with, regardless of gender. RPGs is either or, depends on the class and perks, etc etc
Era-Song-Bird
I tend to pick female more often than male. It's mostly because I like roleplaying as some kickass woman in the games I play.
Fierce_DeityX1
Typically I play as a female (I'm a guy) especially when it is a game in which benefits are better for females. I will end up playing as a male if I really like the game.
Yukiko Miyamoto
Female mostly. Depends if the Male character is very attractive . Edited May 12, 2022 by gamercris066
Slava
I don't really have a general preference. I also don't play a lot of games where you create or pick a character, I guess. I did play Mass Effect 2 as a dude back in the day, and would probably do the same now. In Resident Evil 1 I liked to play as Jill a little bit more. So yeah, depends on the game. HamiTosh
I like to play as female characters, as most often they have far more custumization options. For online play I found thatI get treaten with more respect and friendliness because I played a female. Probably somed desperate men or boys
Arzoden
I always play as a male since i myself am a male... I don't think i have ever played as a female, i just feel more vulnerable if i do you know?? I have seen plenty of females playing as males though, strange how that works.
Janire1911
I used to play males but ever since I played Mass Effect as femshep I almost always pick female now if there's a choice.
