Quake PS5 enhancements, free upgrade for PS4 owners and state of PS4 version

Now PS4 owners can upgrade to a native PS5 version of Quake with the following enhancements:

PlayStation 5

• 4K maximum resolution**
• 120 FPS**
• DualSense™ Adaptive Trigger and integrated speaker support

** Compatible monitor required for 4K and 120FPS

 

 

Also, should be noted that in the next PS4 patch which should be available any day now, that one of the changes is "Improved Save File handling" specifically for the PS4 version which has had a save file corruption bug plaguing many people (i think it's been specific to quicksaving and not regular saving).

Anyone figured out how to enable 120hz mode? There's no option in the menu and changing the PS5 to push the performance mode via system settings doesn't change it (like you have to do with Ghostrunner).

Can the console commands be used now the you can access it with keyboard?

So which version do you recommend to play? I've downloaded PS4 ver. but didn't start it yet. Not a fan of haptics/pad speakers in these older games (I like to play them as they were), just want 60 fps & fast loading savegames (gonna go for a platinum trophy/play on nightmare), will the PS4 ver. be enough?

I've been playing the PS4 version (on PS4 Pro) with the default graphics settings, and aside from some occasional frame drops, everything else is fine. The PS5 version likely runs better since it supports 120 FPS, but I haven't tested it yet.
