100% Specters Checklist.

Edit 1: Hey everyone, figured I'd post a Drop by Drop Specters checklist to help my fellow trophy hunters out. Right now it's only 99% complete as I do need one more Specter to complete this list.   The checklist is now 100% Complete!

 

I've wrote this up to mimic exactly how they appear within the in-game list itself. That way it's easier to cross reference & hopefully someone out there has that last Specter, so I can add it to this list. I'm also aware of the Collectibles guide over on Gamefaqs, however it's incomplete as some of the Specters are missing. The wording for a few of the photo locations have also changed between the Wii U version & the re-release. This game unfortunately does not have a Collectibles Counter on the Drop select screen, which is why I wanted to make this checklist. Anyway, hope it helps & lets begin..

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a detailed guide/walkthrough! I merely want to point people in the right direction so they don't waste their time re-running random Drops while blindly looking for something that may or may not be in a particular Drop. With this checklist, at least you know you're in the right Drop. ?

Edit 3: I've decided to add small notes in RED for some of the Specters as some of them have either very tight windows of opportunity or they require a specific trigger.

1) Woman on a Cliff - Pool of Purification - Jumper's Point.

2) Hanged Woman - Unfathomable Forest SE - Hanging Tree.

3) Swept-Away Maiden - Unfathomable Forest NE - Memento Shore. (When going across the bridge, immediately look right)

4) Girl Watching from Behind - Shrine Grounds - Grounds.

5) Girl Watching from Behind - Shrine Grounds - Grounds.

6) Boy Watching from Behind - Shrine Grounds - Grounds.

7) Pushed Woman - Unfathomable Forest NW - Lookout Point. (Approach the NW slowly, as all Pushed Woman/Falling Woman encounters are very tight windows. As you circle round, she'll drop on your right)

 

Drop 3

 

1) Drowned Woman - Ichiru Manor - 1F Lounge Hallway.

2) Man in the Shadows - Ichiru Manor - 1F Linen Room.

3) Woman in the Shadows - Ichiru Manor - 1F Linen Room.

4) Woman in the Shadows - Ichiru Manor - 1F Linen Room.

5) Hands Waving in the Dark - Ichiru Manor - 1F Passageway.

6) Man Shrouded in Darkness - Old Building - 1F Owner's Room.

7) Man in the Darkness - Old Building - 1F Owner's Room.

8) Man Beckoning Upward - Ichiru Manor - 2F Second Floor.

9) Man Hanged in a Hole - Ichiru Manor - 2F Room 202.

10) Falling Woman - Ichiru Manor - 3F Rooftop. (After the Hanged Man smashes through the window, approach the newly opened window slowly & use Ren's Chain shot to increase your chances)

11) Woman who was Hanged - Ichiru Manor - 2F Guest Room Stairway.

12) Man Transfixed by Sunset - Ichiru Manor - 3F Rooftop.

13) Man Hanged by the Neck - Ichiru Manor - 2F Room 203. (You need to interact with the hole on 2F, see mini cutscene of item below & then the Hanged Man will trigger right in front of you) 

14) Man Staring at Something - Ichiru Manor - 3F Observation Room. 

15) Man Beckoning Inside - Ichiru Manor 2F - Room 203. (By far the hardest & most easily missable specter in the game. As soon as you see the "Man Beckoned Upward" Specter which is luckily a checkpoint. Immediately run up the stairs into the room he stumbled in, run past the item & hastily look left. You have literally less than 3 seconds to capture this. This was my last Specter & a huge shout goes to @DivineAlice for helping me out with this.

16) Man Hanged by the Neck - Ichiru Manor - 3F Observation Room. (As you emerge onto the roof, this will appear as you walk past the broken windows on your right)

17) Woman in the Netherworld - Ichiru Manor - 3F Rooftop.

 

Drop 4

 

1) Woman Who Leaps Down - Mountain Trail - Behind Ichiru Falls. (While climbing the curved mountain path, after the Trace in the cave on the left. As you turn around she'll drop from above)

2) Wistful Shrine Maiden - Pool of Purification - Pool of Purification.

3) Maiden Swept Downriver - Unfathomable Forest - Shrine Dolls Path.

4) Figure from the Water - Lower Storeroom - Memento Cloister.

5) Man in Agony - Unfathomable Forest - SE Riverview Basin.

6) Wandering Shrine Maiden - Unfathomable Forest -  Pure Water Bridge.

7) Wandering Shrine Maiden - Unfathomable Forest - Pure Water Bridge.

4) Fleeing Child - Shrine of Dolls - 1F Sanctum Hallway S.

1) Waiting Woman - Mt. Hikami Cable Car - Mt. Hikami Cable Car.

2) Old Woman in the Door - Shrine of the Ephemeral 1F - Garden Hallway - E.

6) Tall Woman - Ephemeral Station - Control Room. (Enter the Cable Car station & move closer to the broken windows, she'll appear directly in front of you)

7) Tall Woman - Forest Station - Hikami Tunnel Exit. (As you head down the stairs, the cable car will be on you left & the forest on your right, keep walking straight & she'll appear on your right in the forest)

 

Drop 7

 

1) Running Boy - Twilit Peak - Outside Twilight Gate.

2) Running Girl - Twilit Peak - Outside Twilight Gate.

3) Running Girl - Twilit Peak - Outside Twilight Gate.

 

Drop 8

 

1) Man in a Hallway - Kurosawa's Antiques 2F - Central Hallway.

2) Dropping Woman - Kurosawa's Antiques 2F - Inner Hallway. (After defeating the crawling Man in Yuri's room & interacting with her, immediately push Square for Ren's chain shot while holding down as the falling woman here drops really fast, you should also catch "Man in a Hallway" accidentally here)

3) Shadowy Man - Kurosawa's Antiques 2F - Yuri's Room. (He'll spawn underneath Yuri's Desk the moment you interact with the book in the box on top of the cabinet, opposite the bed)

4) Man in a Mirror - Kurosawa's Antiques 2F - Hisoka's Room. (You have to pick up the 2 Books in Hisoka's room to trigger this. Upon leaving the room, the camera will automatically pan around to the Mirror) 

5) Peering Woman - Kurosawa's Antiques 2F - Store Hallway.

6) Dragged Man - Watarai Residence 1F - 1st Floor Hallway.

7) Shadow in the Dark - Watarai Residence 2F - Archives.

 

Drop 9

 

1) Girl Hiding in the Shadows - Forbidden Valley - Blank Tombs - Front.

2) Sitting Girl - Forbidden Valley - Cherry Blossom Plateau.

3) Boy Standing at Grave - Forbidden Valley- Western Passageway.

4) Old Woman Wearing Black - Twilit Peak - Sacrificial Mound. (Return to the section where you first fought her with Yuri & she'll be standing with her back to you)

5) Clinging Man - Mt. Hikami Cable Car - Mt. Hikami Cable Car. (Near the end of the mission, after getting on the Cable Car & pushing the button, he'll be clinging to the window that would now be the back of the Cable Car)

 

Drop 10

 

1) Girl with a Red Umbrella - Unfathomable Forest NW - Fallen Tree Path.

2) Woman Offering Flowers - Unfathomable Forest NW - Diverted Path.

2) Girl Who Kept Waiting - House of Joining 1F - Chamber of Vows. (This can only be gotten in Ren's ending where he chooses to photograph Ose Kurosawa, after taking the first story driven photograph, she'll transform back into her original self, which is where you take this Specter pic)

3) Girl in White Kimono - House of Joining 1F - Kimono Room.

 

 

Ayane's Drops (as far as I'm aware) thankfully have no Specters in them. They do however have 4 Traces in them.

I sent a message over psn but Drop 3 Man Beckoning Inside right after Man Beckoning Upstairs need to run past the glowing item and look left through the 2 broken walls you need to be fast as soon as you enter the room where he fades for upstairs he has a timer

I stumbled across this link this afternoon. I was stuck at 98% for Traces. Thanks to the more in-depth descriptions, I was able to snag my trophy for all Traces just a couple of minutes ago:

For the Archives, I’ve been following the GameFAQs list, and I’m almost done. For the “attacking” Ghost List, I also got 100% by following the same GameFAQs page.

 

As for the Specters, I’ve been following this guide put together by Mugen4Ever and DivineAlice.

 

UPDATE: I just got my Archives trophy a moment ago. The GameFAQs list is 100% accurate for those.

The only thing that's incorrect there is spectres list they're missing about 5 but you can follow it to a T and get everything else otherwise

This is great but in Drop 5 half of the kids aren’t spawning. South and East Hallway haven’t appeared for me. I found the other two hiding, then a note spawned which I took. However, the other two just aren’t showing up. If there’s a special way to get them to this needs to be wrote into the checklist.

 

only the first two ghosts disappear after finding Rui. The other two appear heading back to the Womb Cavern with Rui. Checklist should be updated to mirror this.

Yeah, the Tall Woman entry for Drop 5 is off too. She appears at the *back* porch (after you've already gone through the house) in Drop 5. The Drop 5 note about her appearing suddenly to the right of the front door of the house actually belongs in Drop 10.

I have a problem
In the "sixth drop" the ghost "Man Staring Back - Beneath the Shrine - Womb Path" from the list does not appear to me. I saw a video and it appears to him after doing the other part of the map and taking everything else, I also tried to go directly there but nothing has changed. He doesn't come out. Some idea? I only need two and he is one of them

I saw a video and it appears to him after doing the other part of the map and taking everything else, I also tried to go directly there but nothing has changed. He doesn't come out. Some idea? I only need two and he is one of them

 

Hmmm you have to go to that place exactly when you are working on the Psychic photo for unlock the "box" lol , is very fast so open the camera when you open the door and go to the window. That's how i got it

The first time I did this chapter I don't know why it didn't appear, now trying to advance (while I was there I finish it in Nightmare) the game took me there and appeared before taking the psychic photo, it seems impossible to miss yet I missed
This game is really a mess lol But I like it.

Lol yeah i hate the instant specters and some random ghost really scared me. And i love it too! I think is a great game i'm enjoying it idk why the hate but anyways. I hope they work for more games.

I hope they make a new one but with some improved things. The characters have an unresponsive movement, the areas are always the same back and forth, if these things change it comes out a great game in my opinion

For chapter 5 Ren (little ghost in yellow first one listed for chapter) you either need max reload speed to capture her, she disappears too fast otherwise
