Popular Post cobaltTangerine
I like to try and do these immediately after I finish a Platinum. I'd say 3 or 4 out of 10 is a fair rating for the game on Easy. I mostly mainlined the story and then grabbed the collectibles. I played through the game blind and then went back to each area without a guide, found what I could and ended up using a few videos for raven and artifact locations. The ravens make a sound when near, so are easier to spot with sound. Probably found 90% of everything on my own. I used videos for about 1/2 of the treasure map locations. After finishing the collectibles, I did Niflheim. The Darkness and Fog trophy is simply a grind, nothing difficult. I didn't follow any guides, doing it naturally. You'll likely have a few frustrating cheap deaths in the traps, but it is a decent zone and I really didn't mind the couple hours there. There is a lot of good end-game gear and resources that will help you out with any difficult enemies. Next, I did the Trials of Muspelheim and they were a breeze. I beat every trial on the first attempt except for the one where you cannot take damage, which took me about 5 tries. As for the impossible trials, I did 2, 3, and 5. Save the Valkyries until end game. Once you have both weapons and runic attacks, you can kill most of them in seconds... Until you get to the Queen Valkyrie, which is the only serious challenge going for Platinum. I went the OP route instead of the skill route (didn't have to learn most of her moves and played constant offense) and beat her in around 5 attempts. I almost always got her down to the last 2 or 3 bars. To go OP, Google "PowerPyx How to Defeat Valkyrie Queen Easily". I used that entire build with the addition of the Talisman of the Realms. This allows you to slow down time and has a fast Cooldown with the build. It allows you several moments to slow down time during the fight and use several Runic attacks on the Queen. Even though you can kill her in a few minutes, it is a pretty chaotic and exhilarating few minutes. Even on Easy, she is incredibly fast and things can spiral out of control in seconds. Overall, incredible experience. Dense environments to explore. Great development between Kratos and Atreus. Fun arcade combat. Excellent art and design. Enjoyable collectibles that never seem to get tedious. Really nothing bad to say. An enjoyable 40-50 hour Platinum. And completely understandable why so many consider this a modern classic. Speling_Expirt
I know I should be slapped, and I'll take that.. but I have never played GoW.. even still! This write-up has finally made me see the error in my ways and I'm going to download it this weekend. Thanks!
Optinooby
If you wanna make the game a piece of cake, check out the 100% guide on here! A lot of players have reported that they have beat the Queen Valkyrie first time using the build provided there, no joke!!

Like I said, I'd advise playing blind and using guides when you get to clean up mode. I played through the entire original PS2 GoW and about half of 2 and 3. They were fine, but this is a completely different game experience. It is one of those games I think a majority of gamers, regardless of your favorite genre(s), can enjoy.

I read your comment and I used the strategy in that guide: I have beat all valkyries (incluiding the queen) first time without any problem at all! J-S_93
I need like a post-campaign video guide or something, because I've started and stopped this game so much that I pretty much feel lost with this one, and not sure what to begin working on next. Maybe some kind soul could check my Trophy list and give me 1 or 2 things to attempt or try first, or a location to visit as this game loses me. After the campaign I felt clueless, lol. I think there is 2 good option for what you want to do next. 1) clean up collectibles (ravens, apples, horns, jotnar boards, treasures) or 2) Nilfheim and Muspelheim challenges and grind. Edit: Another good option is dwarf favors and wayword spirit quest. Edited March 31, 2023 by pikaopas
