Season Pass Year 1 Standalone

Hope someone can answer my question. I completed the base game but no longer have the disc so i was interested in the standalone dlc pass. Will my save be compatible with the standalone version, i.e weapon and rune unlocks? I'm not really sure how it works. Thanks

I can't give a definitive answer because I haven't tried, but the standalone DLC is just the same software package with the main game being locked, so I assume that yes, you can use the same save.

Ok thanks. The other alternative would be to rent the game again and just buy the season pass, they are the same price at the minute £12.49. Not sure what to do. ?

I have the season pass (from the physical deluxe edition) and can access the standalone version of the DLC for free.

So that version should always give you access, whichever way you decide to go.

If you go with the physical/full game, I couldn't download the DLC from the store directly, I had to access it from within the game.

 

Sorry if my explanation isn't exactly clear, but Bethesda has gone for a bit of a messy implementation.

My only real concern is as the standalone version doesn't have the base game, would my save with all the weapon and rune ulnocks be there to play with the dlc. Or are they all unlocked to use in the dlc anyway if you never played the base game? In which case the standalone version would be fine and would save me from having to rent the game again and get the normal season pass. I couldn't find any answers on forums, websites etc. Sorry to go on... ?
