Popular Post SKiL_Clash
Piece of Cake Award Just got a PS5 and there wasn’t many games out there for PS5. So I saw this game for sale for like $20 on EBay and bought it. It was a fun game that can easily be done in 8 hours. Was a very pretty game with amazing music. It’s Like Dark Souls Its literally Dark Souls. Managed to get all three done this year and it was a pain in my ass. Looking at you Dark Souls II. You and your stupid weapon durability. Bad ass Reward Bloodborne was out of all the Souls games ive played the best when it came to making me feel like a complete boss. The axe when double handed was the most satisfying thing in the game. Loved chopping my enemies to bits. Grind of the Year Black Ops Cold War multiplayer was very simple. Along with the campaign. It was the Zombies that was a grind. Mainly Dead Ops Arcade 3. Having to get through the entire minigame (64 rounds) without dying was a pain. Eventually only achieved it when they added a limited time first person mode for the entire run. Finally done award This game can easily go for "Its Like Dark Souls" But this game took over 3 years to complete. I bought this game thinking that it would be an easy platinum. Boy I learned to do research before ever buying a game again. This game is now my rarest platinum at 0.33% King of the Internet Though short lived. Destruction All-Stars was a fun multiplayer game. Sadly it got very repetitive and after getting the platinum there was really nothing much left to do after. But it was a fun experience wrecking cars. Worst Online Experience AC IV Game is completely dead for the most part. The grind to level 55 was one of the worst experiences of my life. Never want to do that again. Best Music Loved Kena's music. Was so blissful to walk around listening to the music while collecting all the Rot. Really hope Ember Labs makes another game with this much detail in their games. Best Sleeper Hit Could easily toss Kena in this category again. But I didn't want to do that. So the next best sleeper hit in my opinion is Its Take Two. Yeah, the game is nominated for many awards in the Game Awards 2021. But I still feel this game wasn't talked about as much mainly cause you need a friend to play it. But I enjoyed this game so much. My sister and I laughed at how many ways we can kill each other while playing. really enjoyed this and out of all of them. I'm rooting for Kena and Its Take Two to take all the awards at the Game Awards. Biggest Bomb of the Year Really isn't that bad of a game. But out of all the games I've played this year. This one was the worst. I can understand that it was a Vita port. But the game really bored me. This could easily be replaced by Unity even with the few hours in Unity. But since I haven't gotten the platinum I wont add it. But I can definitely tell Unity is terrible. Best Trophy Image Have to give this one to Kena: Bridge of Spirts. Absolutely love the art style for the trophy images. Worst Trophy Image Have to give it to Wreckfest. Nothing wrong with it. Just very bland compared to everyone else I got. Best Female Character Kena is literally taking every award. Love her character a lot. Best Male Character Good old Trusty Patches. Always brought me good fortune and treasure. Didn't play as him though. Best Plat of the Year May have a bad multiplayer. But the single player was one of my favorite to play. I loved sailing around on the Jackdaw and fighting all the enemy ships was amazing. Never felt repetitive even though it probably was. Really enjoyed the platinum journey until multiplayer. Worst Plat of the Year Not that Surgeon Simulator was bad enough to make me quit trophy hunting. Even though I struggled more with their other game, I am Bread. I can tell that this game wasn't as polished as I am Bread. Both were buggy and glitchy. But Surgeon Simulator was just so frustratingly annoying when it came to grabbing stuff and stuff just glitching out of my hand. Even worse when you restart the level too fast the entire game would crash. Most anticipated Platinum of 22 Since I've played all of the souls games except of Sekiro (Gonna start on that over Christmas) I really cant wait to play this. Gonna be my first ever Souls type game where I can go in blind with everyone else. Going to be fun learning and struggling how to do a boss instead of just searching up online what to do. Really cant wait for this game to come out and will probably be my GOTY for 2022. Finally finished it. Thanks @Dr_Mayus For the thread. Was fun reliving memories. Good or bad lol Edited December 7, 2021 by SKiL_Clash
Popular Post Rando-Calrisian-
Piece of Cake: The Procession to Calvary A super quick and easy point and click adventure that uses animated Renaissance for graphics. I normally don't play these quick platinums but I couldn't pass by this games humour and aesthetic. It's Like Dark Souls: Diablo II: Ressurected (on hardcore difficulty) Nioh 2 would be on this list if I played it this year but second choice would be D2 on hardcore. Grinding out to L99 will take hundreds of hours, one mistake and its back to square one. Going through the lower levels is also risky if your character is not speced correctly. I’m at L92 and there have already been many close calls. Badass Award: Deathloop Doing the first “ending it” run and killing all eternalists in one loop felt like setting up a line of dominos and knocking them over. Very satisfying. Grind of the Year: Diablo II: Ressurected Getting to Level 99 hardcore will take hundreds of hours and no mistakes. One mistake or server lag can mean back to square one (or giving up). The online community is very active and the grind is fun when chipping away at it slowly. Finally Done: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Very glad this 100 hour collection is over. Time to complete wasn’t too bad, it was just so boring. The majority of this time was filler, running around collecting things. King of the Internet: Ghost of Tsushima (multiplayer mode) Really the only multiplayer I played. The raid was very fun, it required 4 competent people working together. Very satisfying when we got it done. Worst Online Experience: N/A Best Music: Mass Effect: Legendary Edition The music was such a big part of the experience IMO. Brought back many emotions from this excellent series. Sleeper Hit: Disco Elysium I knew it got good reviews but didn’t expect too much as it was a point and click adventure. However, when I played it blew me away. The writing, voice acting story and overall aesthetic were amazing. Biggest Bomb: Assassin's Creed Valhalla I hope they don’t release new DLC for this as I think I’m done with this franchise. They have overextend themselves and try to do too many things which end up being mediocre and unpolished. Traversal is average, combat and story are average. Reduce the scope, release a more polished product which will be much better overall, which is what Ghost of Tsuhima achieved. Best Trophy Images: Disco Elysium The art style of this game was great and they used them in the trophies! Worst Trophy Images: Ghost of Tsushima (multiplayer mode) The main game and DLC had great images. The multiplayer DLC just copy / pasted the images however. Best Female Character: Tali'Zorah vas Normandy One of many great characters in the series. Of all the female squadmates she was the best and had the best story arc. Best Male Character: Disco Elysium (Harrier "Harry" Du Bois) You could be whoever you wanted a chivalrous knight in shining armor, a horrible piece of shit or somewhere inbetween. Whatever you chose, the dialogue was excellent as was the story. Best Plat of the Year: Hades Great game with an excellent trophy list. A bit of a grind to get to 100% but it was always enjoyable. Sometimes the trophy list for games like this (roguelike with RNG) ruin the overall experience. This was not the case for Hades. Wurst Plat Ov Teh Yeer: Assassin's Creed Valhalla (see above) Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: Elden Ring More from Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, yes please! winter_bird_22
My nominations: Piece of Cake Award: Goes to Sakura Swim Club. The raunchiest visual novel I ever played and despite having some bronzes, it's so easy to platinum as your choices do not matter, you will get the platinum no matter what you answer. It's Like Dark Souls Award: I didn't play this game on my main account but I played enough of The Binding of Issac Afterbirth+ to know it's not friendly with RNG. Also, even though I didn't play it, I would put The Binding of Isaac Repentance as I saw Sinvicta play through the new bosses so many times to know that I would get creamed into a bloody paste by the new bosses and the new challenges. Bad Ass Award: I'd say my badass moment was finally getting the RYNO EXTREME into Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and watching Sly Cooper slam down from a rift and destroying everyone. Here's to the rumors being true of Sly Cooper getting one more game in 2022! Grinds of the Year: I haven't gotten the platinum for it yet, but FFXIV put me through the grinds. Having to grind a zillion Ifrit Runs to get Thrillseeker IV and crafting 5000 collectibles in the Firmament for Made to Order IV were taxing, and now I have to focus to get 5000 more gathering collectibles for Livin' off the Land IV and get over 480 FATEs for Destiny's Child to get the platinum, and with the ultra-long queues booting you out after half an hour due to the servers getting clogged, FFXIV is going to be a super grind for those last sets of trophies. Luckily, those grinds are the last trophies I need for the platinum. The Endwalker DLC trophies, however... Finally Done Award: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, not because it took me forever to play, it's just that I put off playing it until now. I guess the server crashes in FFXIV helped me put my priorities into perspective and FINALLY get that game platinumed. King of the Internet Award: Goes to FFXIV again, especially picking up the new jobs Reaper and Sage and playing around with them. I have gotten Reaper to Level 77 and will eventually go back into the story. But the award goes to the entire MSQ, from the very beginning when Cisi Arashi met some moogles on the road to Gridania to register as an adventurer to the very end of Shadowbringers. Worst Online Experience: *points up at the last parts* FFXIV servers melting because of Endwalker release, I can't get on the game until after midnight. Best Music: Do I really need to repeat myself? FFXIV, and the La-hee of Rat'ika Greatwood as I was mining Rarefied Manasilver Sand. Sleeper Hit of the Year: I can't give an award here because I haven't gotten much from digital sales, sorry. Biggest Bomb of the Year: I really regret earning a trophy in Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition. I got hyped because of the FFXV crossover event in FFXIV and seeing Noctis in Eorzea that I bought and put a trophy into this game because I was told it was an easy platinum. Maybe I am giving it undeserved hate but I really don't feel like playing this game now that the event is over. Best Trophy Image: Heartless Hunter from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix since I started getting back into that game. That was the first trophy I earned in that game. Worst Trophy Image: All of the trophies in the ZJ The Ball series, because they are just the title screen, copied and pasted and all of the trophies have the same image. Talk about being super-lazy! Best Female Character: Rivet from Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Best Male Character: Maxmillion from Dark Cloud 2. Best Plat of the Year: Clearly Masters of the Multiverse. Even though I skipped the story and the game was super easy, it was fun to go through and just having to enter Challenge Mode just to buy the last two weapons was fun. Wurst Plat of the Year: All five ZJ The Ball games. Having religious themes is a bit too much for my gaming experience. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: Maybe Hogwarts Legacy because it would be like Wizard101 in the Rowlingverse, or LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga. (I had played a bit of The Force Awakens but never got into the LEGO Star Wars games as the only Star Wars movies I watched were the original trilogy.)
Popular Post Together_Comic
2021 Year End Awards from TC Category 1: Piece of Cake - Winner: Abzu Clocking in at 2.5 hours, this game was the quickest and easiest completion of 2021 for me, which isn't to say that its bad. Abzu oozes artistic style and atmosphere as well as introducing everyone's favorite dangerous animal Shark-Chan. A solid if short experience. Recommend if you can find it on sale. Category 2: Like Dark Souls - Winner: Super Meat Boy "Which game had you pleading in Status Updates for just one little thing to go your way?" Well I guess with that description the winner has to be Super Meat Boy. That being said, I had a wonderful time banging my head against the wall for hours, thinking about Vaas and his famous quote at the beginning of Far Cry 3, and eventually overcoming the challenge of the game. The game is a masterclass in game design and difficulty curve and an enjoyable experience all the way through. Category 3: Bad Ass Award - Winner: Hyper Light Drifter There's just something immensely satisfying about the way that combat and movement work in this game when you finally manage to master it. Hyper Light Drifter just does everything right in that regard and manages to make you think I am so F***ing cool throughout the whole thing. The game itself is really neat featuring essentially no dialog and very little text, everything is atmosphere and gameplay and it really holds up. Excited for this studios next outing with Solar Ash that just released. Category 4: Grind of the Year - Winner: Kingdom Come Deliverance I haven't even finished this game and I already know that it's going to be the winner. Ignoring the DLC, the platinum for KCD only asks you to pretty please: Read 20 books, Brew 15 types of potion (which of course requires you to get the recipes), Stealth Kill 20 enemies, Bag 50 game animals, Level up speech to Maximum (every dialog option gives 1 whole XP!), Be popular in every town, Completion of all quests, to Kill 200 people, Discover all locations on the map, to walk more than 50 Km, to find all wayshrines and crosses, to steal 30000 gold worth of stuff, to reach max level, to do 100 combos in combat, to kill 50 enemies with headshots, to save 2000 gold by haggling to collect 5000 gold, to collect 10000 herbs, to win 1000 gold at the dice minigame, and finally to play the game a second time because some of the trophy's are mutually exclusive and 1 romp through the 100hr RPG just isn't enough... you're going to have to ask nicer than that game. Category 5: Finally Done - Winner: Kingdom Hearts III I guess maybe this could also go to Meat Boy, but I've already talked about that game so lets spread the love. Clocking in at 2 years 9 months, KH3 finally joins the 100% S Rank on my profile since I finally got around to doing the remind DLC which was overpriced and 100% should have been included in the base game but I digress. The combat remains the stand out for the series and adding the data fights really gave an opportunity for it to shine, though it doesn't quite reach the heights of KH2. There's also Risktaker which is definitely a trophy that exists. I think my main issue with it, is that it takes away most of what the game does well in the combat and leaves you with only its flaws which hurts it. Overall I enjoyed the game, but I don't think that the series ever quite recaptured the magic they hit with the first game. Category 6: King of the Internet - Winner: Among Us Since I didn't play a game on Playstation with online features this year, I am going to take this opportunity to go rogue and feature an online game that I did enjoy this year. Among us is a Mafia/Werewolf style game where the crew works together to discover who the imposters that have infiltrated their crew and are killing them are. But don't pretend you didn't already know that. This game was a ton of fun and one of the best online experiences with the pals that I've had in awhile. I guess it helped that I didn't have to play in weird ways to get trophies too! Category 7: Worst Online Experience - Winner (or maybe loser?): Battle Fantasia Again, with no legit contenders on my list I'm forced to look elsewhere, and reading @Copanele's experience with this one was enough to have it win just on its own. I will not be touching this one with a 29.5 foot (9 meter) pole. Category 8: Best Music - Winner: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel This category was really close with Super Meat Boy, but I opted for Trails mostly due to sheer volume. Basically every track in the game is a banger and there are quite a few of them. The game never misses on music and it matches the gameplay almost seemlessly. Trails is a good JRPG series for those looking for one, though I have enjoyed each game less than the previous one so grain of salt? We'll have to see how Trails of Cold Steel 4 goes and see if it can make a splash on the 2022 awards. Category 9: Sleeper Hit - Winner: Valfaris So in the category of games I bought for under $5 and are better than they have any right to be lies Valfaris. If you like metal and contra style shooter, slasher, platformers than this is the game for you (though its technically a sequel to a game called Slain). The game features a warrior that crashes on the titular planet Valfaris and he has to kick ass and chew bubble gum (and he's all out of bubblegum) all the way to his ancestral home defeating enemies and invaders alike as they try futilely to stop him. I didn't expect to enjoy the game as much as I did and the game certainly needs more love. It does feature a don't die a lot trophy and a speedrun trophy which can be off-putting for some but it isn't all that bad to get done. Category 10: Biggest Bomb - Winner (Loser?): The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Let me start by saying that this game isn't bad. It just performed poorly to my expectations. The game features a new cast of characters as well as a returning old cast and it just feels disjointed like it doesn't really know how to handle all of these characters at once, though the characterization of the older cast from the previous games really manages to carry this one. The Plot also jumps the shark a little bit towards the end of the game as well and made me feel a bit cheated. Overall, still a solid game, but the let down, combined with the fact that I didn't play a real stinker this year locks it in. Category 11: Best Trophy Image: Winner - Abzu With nothing that really wowed me this year, Abzu slides in with the victory here. There's just something about the ocean that even without all the detail remains beautiful. Category 11: Worst Trophy Image: Winner - The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2. To be fair, Trails 1 also has the same images, and trails 3 aren't much better, but the random trophy is an uninspired choice. Even if it does sneak the lion imprint on there. Category 12: Best Female Character - Winner Madeline (Celeste) Celeste is a story about overcoming one's own inner obstacles and Madeline as a character really succeeds in presenting her story in a really solid and compelling way. It's hard to go further into it without spoilers but Celeste as a game just nails this journey. Highly recommend. Category 13: Best Male Character - Winner: Sylvando (Dragon Quest XI) Sylvando really surprised me. I really though that they were going to be relegated to a comic relief character, and to some extent they are, but the Devs really took the time to develop and do something with this character. Again without spoilers it's tough to really describe what I mean, but Dragon Quest XI was the first game I played this year and this character stuck with me throughout the entire year. Definitely worth a play. Category 14: Best Platinum - Winner: Hyper Light Drifter If I can be meta for a second, I really like the distinction here between best game and best platinum as they are really different. I think for example celeste or meatboy , might be the best games I've played this year (though drifter is no slouch), but I think Hyper Light Drifter is the best platinum. The trophy list just seemless integrates into the gameplay and when it asks you to do something different, its always a good time. Category 15: Wurst Platinum ov teh Yeer - Winner (Loser): Kingdom Come Deliverance Yeah I know, I'm cheating again. But I'll most likely have the platinum by Dec 31, so I'm going to count it. This game is excellent, this platinum is a grindy mess. And that's all I have to say about that. Category 16: Most Anticipated for 2022. - Winner: Tetris Effect TC want moar TE. I'm going to finish this one in 2022 and it is going to be absolutely glorious. This is probably the best Tetris game I've had the pleasure to suck at and I'm looking forward to coming back to it.
Popular Post TalesofGaming
Piece of Cake Award - Maquette This was my fastest platinum this year, being able to platinum it in one day. It was pretty easy even with the speedrun trophies. It's Like Dark Souls Award - Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin And the award goes to an actual Dark Souls title! This is my least favorite Souls title mostly due to the fact they locked co-op out on me quite a number of times in sections I could really use help in as well as those bloody red phantoms in NG+. Bad Ass Award - Bloodborne I absolutely love this game and has since become one of my all time favorites. Every moment in this game made me feel like I'm actually good at video games. Grind of the Year Award - Tales of Zestiria Oh boy... I love the Tales series but this one in particular has one of the worst grinds imaginable. The Sweet 16 trophy, getting all snacks, etc... I guess I got it quicker than expected but it was still an annoying grind. Finally Done Award - Tales of Graces f This was the first game on my profile in 2017 and I finally managed to finish it this year! King Queen of the Internet Award - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout I absolutely love playing this game and am so happy I managed to plat it! Worst Online Experience Award - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout I don't play online games very much so Fall Guys goes into both categories cause some people are really rude in this game. Best Music Award - Bloodborne The music in this game is phenomenal! Sleeper Hit of the Year Award - Spirit of the North: Enhanced Edition I was honestly very surprised with this game! The music was beautiful and I just loved the environment! Biggest Bomb of the Year Award - Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist I love the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise but I grew up with the original and now the game's just got even more complicated... Best Trophy Image Award - Tales of Arise Hootle. End of discussion. Worst Trophy Image Award - Tales of Zestiria Don't really care much for trophy images that just use the logo. Best Female Character Award - Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn) I technically platinumed this in like 2018 but got around to getting the 100% earlier this year and by far, Aloy is the best. I love how independent and strong she is. Best Male Character Award - Law (Tales of Arise) Law really grew on me. Being voiced by Bryce Papenbrook really emphasized his character a lot and I love him dearly. He's so vulnerable at the beginning and I loved to see his character development. Best Plat of the Year Award - Tales of Arise Such a shame it was so short. I would've played it another 100 times. Worst Plat of the Year Award - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout I couldn't really find any that made me want to quit trophy hunting but I never thought I'd get that stupid Infallible trophy... Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022 Award - Elden Ring Of the games coming out next year, it would have to be Elden Ring.
Popular Post starcrunch061
Ah! Nothing like year-end lists! This one will be a work in progress until the end of the year, as I clean up a couple of other plats. But currently, we have the following: The Piece of Cake award goes to: SWORDBREAKER! This game is like one of those old Choose Your Own Adventure books. Obviously, it would already be easy, as endings are completely planned, and the only thing necessary to move forward is to make the correct choices. But, this is actually the second time I've platted this one, and when you've already read a Choose Your Own Adventure book, well... OTHER NOMINEES: Flatland: Prologue, Metagal, Super Destronaut And now, for the It's Like Dark Souls award, we have: THE SURGE! I really didn't like this game, but...it's like Dark Souls. I mean, it's really like Dark Souls. Gameplay-wise. Difficulty-wise. Everything but quality-wise, honestly. OTHER NOMINEE: Remnant: From the Ashes Rolling right along, we now have The Badass award. And the award goes to: THE WITCHER 3! Beating down the entirety of the game, DLC included, in Death March difficulty, felt sweet. Running away from multiple clones of Olgierd may sound cowardly, but beating them one by one, when pretty much any of them will 1-2 shot you, was awesome. There was nothing in Blood and Wine of that difficulty, but...I beat it down anyway. OTHER NOMINEE: Yakuza: Like a Dragon And now, we come to a favorite of mine, the ever-popular Grind of the Year award. To be honest, I don't have hugely grindy plats, though I am still grinding away on a really annoying musou game. But the award goes to: ASSASSINS CREED: ORIGINS! Has Ubisoft ever found the upper bound on pointless bloat in the form of fortresses? The world may never know. AC:Or is a fine 20 hour game, hidden inside a portly 60 hour one. But, that's the way it is. OTHER NOMINEES: .hack: GU, Trials of Mana The committee isn't quite done determining the Finally Done award, so we now go to the King of the Internet award. The easy pick here is REMNANT: FROM THE ASHES! I didn't really like this game, to be honest, but it was fun playing online. There was always someone who wanted to run bosses, and with the additional gameplay modes added since release, it was quite interesting. Even when we failed our mission (which happened often), it was still fun picking up and playing with complete randoms...except for the guy who just ran around in circles, doing nothing. The Worst Online Experience will have to wait to see if I can finish Hammerfall. Tune in later. The Best Music award is...actually unanimous, and goes to KINGDOM HEARTS: MELODY OF MEMORY! My favorite game soundtracks, as I remember them, with a rhythm game attached. What more could anyone ask? OTHER NOMINEE: Ghost of Tsushima And now we get to the Sleeper Hit of the Year award. This one goes to KINGDOM HEARTS: MELODY OF MEMORY! A surprise here. I would never have played this game had my library not purchased it. But having checked it out, I really enjoyed it. As I described in my review of the game, there is no question that this is a lazy cash grab. It lacks fundamental entities necessary for the best rhythm games (No online scoreboard? Are you kidding me?!?). But it is damn fun to play, and it gets more and more fun as you add difficulty to the experience. OTHER NOMINEES: Dragon Ball: Kakarot, Trials of Mana Ah, and now we come to the Biggest Bomb of the Year award. And really, is there any surprise that it's... CYBERPUNK 2077! Phew - what is that stench? Oh, apparently the death of some great ideas (awesome metaphor, huh?). I am certain that a truly great game was hiding within CyPunk77. Unfortunately, it never hatched, and its rotting carcass is all that we can see now. From horrendous load times to game-crashing glitches to unforgiveable laziness, what once started off (for me, at least) with a lot of promise ended up being an absolute stinker of a 90 hour plat. It's not the worst game I played this year, but honestly, could I give this award to Vosaria, or My Aunt is a Witch? Of course not. OTHER NOMINEES: Vosaria, Demetrios, My Aunt is a Witch (possibly the single worst game I've ever played, but I knew what I was getting into upon purchase, so that's on me) Let us now turn our attention to the Best Trophy Image award. There are a lot of good trophy images this year, but my pick goes to GHOST OF TSUSHIMA! There were lots of great trophy tiles to choose from, but this one was pick. The image is clean and crisp (a must for trophy tiles), and reminds me of the main character. OTHER NOMINEES: Various trophies from Nexomon: Extinction, Dragon's Dogma, and others And now, we turn our attention to Worst Trophy Image award. This one was much simpler, and there were TONS of choices to choose from in this game. The winner (loser?) is: BLASPHEMOUS! This trophy is for getting the best ending in the game. What the hell is that? I don't mind pixelated trophy images (see, e.g., Capcom Arcade for the PS3), but I at least want to know what I'm looking at. Is it part of an octopus? It is a sword in a stone? I have no idea. What I do know is that it's crap. OTHER NOMINEES: Really, Blasphemous takes the cake. Listing other nominees would be pointless. We now come to Best Female Character in a game. Looking at my plats this year, I think I played as a female character in exactly one game, and so the winner is THAT CHICK IN GREEDFALL! This game deserves no praise. Further, the main character sucked. I really wanted to put Yuna from Ghost of Tsushima here, but you never play as her, so that's out. I hated this character, because I hated this game. And her scar looks like a beard. What the hell? OTHER NOMINEE: Metagal ("she" is a robot, so I'm not sure that gender applies) Anyway, ignoring that award, let's now go to Best Male Character award. This one is easy: JIN SAKAI (GHOST OF TSUSHIMA)! It's a no-brainer, even with otherwise strong competition like Geralt of Rivia and Ichiban Kasuga. Jin Sakai is one of the best characters ever in a game. EVER. I honestly miss playing as him, though I hope they never make a sequel (that game is perfect as is). OTHER NOMINEES: A bunch; two are named above And now the big ones. First, the Best Plat of the Year. And again, the winner is... GHOST OF TSUSHIMA! At no point while playing this game did I wish it was over. It is one of few games that I immediately jumped into again, just to experience it once more. I loved every haiku I wrote. I enjoyed following every fox to a shrine. Even mundane tasks like finding flowers for my dart gun were made glorious, due to the beautiful scenario and smooth-as-glass gameplay. Characters were written wonderfully. It was a joy to behold, and to play. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a game that much. And now, we get to the (liver)Wurst Plat ov teh Yeer award. And that one's gotta be CYBERPUNK 2077 About 25 hours into CyPunk77, I realized I wasn't enjoying the experience. About 50 hours in, I realized that I still needed 20 more hours to finish everything. And about 70 hours in, I realized that...I should have used a flippin' guide, because despite being a game about choice, I had made the wrong choices in developing my character, and couldn't get one of the trophies. Again, it's not the worst game I played, but the 90 hours of plat time were certainly the worst spent. And finally, we have the Most Anticipated Plat of 2022. This one is a no-brainer: Hope to see you all next year at the 2022 plat awards! For all of us at Starcrunch productions, signing off! EDIT! This just in! The committee has now returned with some news on the Finally Done award! Though there was a late push by Kingdom Hearts 3, we are now projecting that the winner is THE ESCAPISTS! With a plat time of 5 years, 2 months and 5 days, we believe that this will win the award. And...I'm hearing some complaints that perhaps this image should also be considered for Worst Trophy Image! But here's a statement from the committee: "After consideration, we remain confident that the trophy tile from Blasphemous is the appropriate champion. While this image of a fat, squat trophy cup is certainly poor, it is still an image we can make out, which cannot be said for Blasphemous." So, there you have it. Only one more award remains unclaimed! Edited December 9, 2021 by starcrunch061
Popular Post MissShake
Piece of Cake Award I just got this plat a few days ago and yeah, it's quite easy. Worth it, though. It's Like Dark Souls Award Nothing I got the plat for was particularly tough, but Granblue Fantasy: Versus was a really frustrating time. The fight against the RNG had me reloading cloud saves over and over for like four hours, so I guess this counts? Bad Ass Award With the help of my boosting partner I finally managed to get Medal of the Holy Order, which many people consider to be the toughest trophy of Guilty Gear Xrd Revalator. I definitely felt like a badass after having put this off for years! Grind of the Year Award If you've gone for the XIV plat, you know. And it looks even worse on PS5. Finally Done Award I put this game off for two years, not because it was tough, but because I was so burnt out on KH III by the time I finished the main story. I'm so glad to finally be done with it though! (I won't get the DLC unless it's on a steep discount, and even then it's really not a priority rn) If we count games without a plat, I finally finished Gone Home. Man, that game definitely isn't for me. King of the Internet Award I think it's hard not to put an MMO here if you spent any time on an MMO. XIV is excellent though, I'm excited to get started on Endwalker! Worst Online Experience Award I was shocked anyone was online for this one. I didn't have a lot of online trophies that gave me trouble, so by default this game wins it. (Haven't got the plat yet though, let's hope I finish it up next year!) Best Music Award Another one I'm not finished with it yet, but it's TWEWY. It has the best music by default. Sleeper Hit of the Year Award I haven't heard many people talking about this little gem, and I'm really not sure why! It's like a mini city simulator game with a point based system, and it's such a nice time to give it the plat run. It's also a super easy list, so I feel like many people on this site would eat it up. I'm genuinely shocked that it's at such a low number on this site! Biggest Bomb of the Year Award I'm one of maybe ten people on this site that actually plays otome games, so I don't expect too many people to know what I'm talking about, but this game has such nice and unique art so I expected a good time. This game's story is boring and repetitive. Don't buy it for the price it's asking for. Best Trophy Image Award Dog. Worst Trophy Image Award Number. Best Female Character Award Just Monika. Best Male Character Award It's 2021 and Garrus is still the best bro in every year. Going back and playing the Legendary Edition was a treat. Best Plat of the Year Award I was obsessed with Hades this year. Even when I wasn't playing much I would give this game a run just for the hell of it. What an awesome game! Worst Plat of the Year Award I felt nothing playing Cinders this year. (Another otome disappointed me, what was going on with this genre???) Repetitive story and not a single interesting character, which basically spells death for a game of this nature. If you buy it don't bother reading it, just force skip your way through. You will miss nothing. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022 Award I have a couple... Yugioh Master Duel: I've been on a bit of a Yugioh kick on and off this year. I'm really excited to give this one a run, especially since the story mode is based on the origins of the cards themselves! The King of Fighters XV: One of my proudest plats is for KOF XIV, so I'm really excited to give the sequel a run. It's one of my favorite fighting game series, so I'm really excited to get my hands on the new one! Backlog: I have a few backlogs games I wanna tackle next year, so I'm just anticipating my completion percentage going up Edited December 8, 2021 by MissShake
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
You know, @Dr_Mayus, I look forward to this every year! I've been a bit busy this week and haven't had time, but DAMMIT, I'M GONNA MAKE TIME!!!! So here's mine.... PIECE OF CAKE AWARD Donut County I actually got a lot of easy plats this year (not like 12-mins easy, but completed without too much brain power easy), but nothing beats Donut County. You'll get 90% of the trophies just playing the game and the other 10% are only a slight inconvenience to go back and play. It's a really fun game with a great story that made me genuinely laugh. It's games like this honestly that make me believe that you should not judge a game based on it's plat rarity and not let that sort of elitism cloud your judgement from buying a game because this game is easy, but it's fantastic and was definitely worth playing both for the platinum and for pure enjoyment. IT'S LIKE DARK SOULS Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back There's a caveat with this one. I will be the first to admit that my brother (who's a legend at these sort of games) did help me with some (most) of the time trials. However, I feel like I'm obligated to put this here just out of the pure frustration that platformer games give me and I still think this one is the most frustrating games out of all the plats I earned this year. I still find these games extremely hard and extremely frustrating and if I had the platinum for Crash 4, it'd 100% be here because just beating the game was extremely difficult or me. I have no desire to ever go back to even attempt the first game and I think Crash 4 is too much of a slog to do so I guess I'll have to due with just having 2 and 3 done. BADASS AWARD Catherine: Fully Body I know, I know. I earned this platinum last year so what in the living sheep hairballs is it doing here? Ah, did you know that I still play this game, after an entire year already passing since earning the platinum? That's because I like to better my Babel times and compete on the leaderboards for fun. And recently, I was able to rank 119 on the first stage with a time of 4:58 and got into the top 100 with a time of 7:27 on the second stage! The badass part of all of this is being in the top 100 players-ish in the world and getting sub 5 minutes on the first stage. I will be honest. Most people who earned the platinum would struggle to get under 7 and very few would be able to get under 6 so getting under 5 is like "Put that shit on Youtube" level because that is FLYING. GRIND OF THE YEAR I absolutely loved every minute of the game and is definitely my favorite in the series by a mile and after the grinding of rebirth, capturing enemies for stats, and murdering carnage mode with 1 witch and an angel, I clocked in at 100 hours. In the end, I nearly maxed out 2 character's stats and still had to come up with a convoluted stategy to beat carnage mode, but it was all worth it. The game rewards you for being smart and rewards you for your strategies so this one definitely was worth the grind... Even if that grind started at 40 hours in. FINALLY DONE AWARD Time: With Missing Timestamps This game took me so long that PSN doesn't have a fucking clue how long it took. But seriously, I got this game the year it came out so you can do the math on it. probably like 11, 12 years?!?! Shoutout to Deadrising 2 and Resident Evil 6... If you're curious, well, you take a look! KING OF THE INTERNET This game got king of the internet almost out of default, but it deserves it because I played it with a very good friend of mine and we had a blast chatting on discord and cleaning up Professional mode. WORST INTERNET EXPERIENCE Nothing against my partners who helped me boost the MP TIR trophies, but let's not pretend like sitting idle and waiting or your turn to win a match is fun. It wasn't fun to try and get 3 other to do this, and it wasn't fun to sit there for 2 hours idle to get the dumb trophies for everyone either. I am very, very happy to get this platinum. One of my proudest for sure. BEST MUSIC I am a BIG video game music nerd and listen to sounds and music I play through any game, and this one was a home run! I absolutely love Bug Fables for many reasons, but it's soundtrack has to be waaaaay up there. The shit just slaps. Period. It sounds like something out of a Mario game or something out of a classic RPG. Just listen to this absolute banger. It won't disappoint! Spoiler SLEEPER OF THE YEAR I should start off by saying that I bought this game off of a whim on sale during Christmas time last year, and holy crap, this might be one of my new favorite series. No joke. The story is just fantastic and some of the cases legit blew my mind. I absolutely loved chapter 5 of Danganropa 2 and I could not sleep that night after I finished it. My mind was absolutely blown at what the fuck just happened. It's my favorite chapter from ANY game I've ever played (well, maybe not Fire Emblem Awakening, but definitely on PlayStation). It was an absolute masterpiece of a chapter and the collection was an absolute masterpiece. I think this is a great game to play if you are getting bored of your standard games because these games will absolutely blow you away. BIGGEST BOMB OF THE YEAR I want to blame this on the trophy list for restricting me on how I play the game, but let's be honest, it was a bland, turn-based RPG that really did not have a lot going for it and required little strategy. I found the game quite boring, and I think part of that is because I've played a lot of amazing turn-based RPGs in my lifetime like FF7, FF9, FFX, Persona 3, Persona 5, Bravely Default 2, Shin Megami Tensei 5... There's so much better turned based games out there that this one looked like an unpolished turd next to it... Sorry! BEST TROPHY IMAGE Danganropa 1+2 Reload WORST TROPHY IMAGE: Untitled Goose Game 0/10, not enough HONK! BEST FEMALE CHARACTER Chiaki Nanami: Danganropa 2 I think a lot of people choose her because she's a "gamer girl", but she really felt like the odd duck out of the group which I absolutely loved about her. She was kind, smart, and added a lot to the story without being a cringe character like other Danganropa characters. BEST MALE CHARACTER Byakuya Togami: Danganropa I think most people either love Byakuya or hate him, but I absolutely loved his character. He's very smug, a giant asshole, but he's incredibly intelligent and helps a ton in many cases. He also does something very crazy in one of the early cases which made him instantly my favorite character. PLAT OF THE YEAR Everything about this platinum was fun and I just never got bored of this game no matter if I had to play through it 6 times for the plat. The game is definitely a top 5 PS4 game, and I could definitely see myself playing it again for fun. WURST OF THE YEAR Fallout 3 Not a terrible game, but the glitches, freezes and bugs in this game really ruins the platinum experience for me. It really makes me not want to pull Fallout 4 off the shelf. ANTICIPATED PLATINUM OF THE YEAR I had this game in last year and maybe even the year before so I have to keep the joke running. I will play this game one day!!!!
Dr_Mayus
Glad to see so many people enjoy this thread. Finally caught up with all the reading and some interesting games. I also love the Finally Done awards. I thought i platted some old games this year...but some of you have me beat. Also @Beyondthegrave07 glad you ended up liking Danganronpa. I agree 2 ends so well. I wasnt really liking the story up until that ending and then everything before it becomes even better.
Popular Post whodeygamer
This is the first time I’ve taken part in this, in 2021 I’ve earned 24 platinums. Here’s my list… Piece of Cake - Undertale It’s my fastest platinum at 2 hours and 26 minutes, you don’t even have to beat the game to get the plat. I previously beat the the game in both neutral and true pacifist on Nintendo Switch, so I had prior experience with this one. It’s Like Dark Souls - Crash Bandicoot There were several points where I just wanted to quit and move on to something else when collecting those damn relics, but I persevered and finally got that platinum. Bad Ass Award - Yakuza: Like a Dragon There were so many moments in this masterpiece of a game where this award fit the moment. From taking over a struggling company and turning it into the biggest company in Japan, to becoming the number 1 racer in a Mario Kart-esque racing minigame, to completing the super challenging True Final Millennium Tower. This is a game that all fans of turn based RPGs need to play and complete. Grind of the Year - Persona 5 Strikers If only reaching max level on all party members was enough… Well, in the case of the Eternal Bonds trophy, it’s not... If you want to max out your Bond skills, you either need to go through New Game+, or do what I and many others did and farm on the Metatron quest for 15 hours. In my case, I ended up using up all my free time back at that point to grind away, and listened to a bunch of YouTube videos in the background to keep me going. I eventually made it, but it was a grueling grind for sure. Finally Done Award - Crash Bandicoot …and we’re back to this game. Well, it took 3 years and 9 months, but the reason behind that is because I really started getting hooked on the Nintendo Switch at that point (and a little earlier as well), and I didn’t care about getting platinums back then either. King of the Internet: Rocket League I originally bought and played the Switch version years ago, but ended up playing on PS4 when it went free to play, so a bunch of the trophies were autopops, but I did enjoy my time on playing on PS4 enough for me to give it this award. Worst Online Experience: Realm Royale I had so many issues getting the Decimation trophy earlier this year. Either I wouldn’t find enough opponents to be able to reach the elim requirement, or I’d reach 8, but then get eliminated by someone else. Eventually luck found it’s way to me, but that was such a frustrating trophy to try and earn. I honestly expected Royale Master to be the one I’d have the most trouble with, but I was wrong. Best Music - Persona 5 Strikers Once again, the Phantom Thieves make another appearance on this list. This one really was a no-brainer. While I prefer the original Persona 5 and Royal’s soundtracks to this one, I got Royal’s platinum back in 2020, and still haven’t got vanilla Persona 5’s either, so they aren’t eligible. I didn’t even consider Dancing in Starlight, despite that Game having some decent remixes, the remixed soundtrack for Strikers is just to great for me not to give it the award. They really knocked it out of the park in terms of the soundtrack. Then again, the same could be said for the Persona series as a whole. Sleeper Hit of the Year - 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim If I hadn’t heard about this game from the trailer for the upcoming Switch version, I would’ve given this award to Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed. This was a completely unexpected, yet satisfying way for me to end the year in terms of platinums. The art style, along with the complex storyline made this game one of the more satisfying and relaxing ones for me to play this year. The combat portion of the game was a letdown for me, RTS for mech battles leaves a lot to be desired, but I still enjoyed this game enough for me to give it this award. Biggest Bomb of the Year - Shenmue II I know this and the original Shenmue are beloved games from the Dreamcast era and were games that were way ahead of their time, but I did not enjoy my time playing this one. Maybe it’s because I didn’t have a Dreamcast back in the day so I don’t have the nostalgia factor playing a factor, but there were quite a few things I didn’t care about in this one. Voice acting is one of them, but the biggest gripe is the Quick Time Events. More specifically in the case of 2, the command QTE’s. The timing of those ones in particular is all over the place, and plus the directions for them are confusing as well, and you don’t get enough time to grasp how to do them before failing and having to do the same segment over again. That alone is what makes me never want to play a game in that series ever again. Best Trophy Image - South Park: The Stick of Truth (Ass of Fire) Yes, it’s immature but I don’t care, deal with it! Worst Trophy Image - Shenmue and Shenmue II (tie, both plats) …really? THIS is the best image you could come up with for the platinums in both of these games!? Best Female Character: Shion Kasugai (Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed) Ladies & Gentlemen, we have an UPSET! If you’ve seen the avatar image on my PlayStation profile, you would’ve assumed that I would’ve picked a Persona 5 character, but nope, all the character’s took a step back in Strikers from how they were in both Vanilla P5 and Royal, so I looked elsewhere for a victor, and of all the games I could’ve chosen from, I chose Shion Kasugai from… Akiba’s Trip? Well, let me explain… For one, Shion’s voice actor stole the show in what was an otherwise a dreadfully voiced acted cast in this game. The other major reason is everything she does for the main protagonist in her story route. That and her route takes a significantly different turn from the other choices (all female characters btw). I could’ve taken the lazy route and picked either a Persona 5 character or Undyne from Undertale, but I wanted to give credit to a character from an obscure game. Best Male Character - Ichiban Kasuga (Yakuza: Like A Dragon ) This choice was actually more difficult than my previous choice, but Ichiban’s my choice. I’m not going to go into detail with this choice, but yes, I chose him over Kratos from God of War and Delsin Rowe from inFamous: Second Son. Best Plat of the Year: God of War I narrowed this one down to this game and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I ultimately went with God of War because the grind in Yakuza: Like a Dragon to reach level 99 took some of the fun out of the trophy hunt. Same goes for Persona 5 Strikers with the Eternal Bonds trophy. In the case of God of War however, I never felt that type of drag in the trophy hunt. I don’t hold this game in as high regard as a lot of people seem to, but the platinum was fun enough for it to get this reward from me. Wurst Plat Ov Teh Year: Realm Royale I already talked about the decimation trophy, but there were other trophies that made the experience unenjoyble. It’s rarest platinum trophy I’ve earned so far, but it was also my least favorite as well. I’m so glad that’s over. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: Marvel’s Spider-Man I don’t know why, but I keep on pushing that one back further and further… I just need to do it! Popular Post Mesopithecus
I need to try and remember what I've actually played this year, it seems to have gone by in a blur Piece of Cake Award I think this is the easiest game I've played this year, it's certainly the highest rarity. Not a bad game though. In this game you basically complete a lot of stained glass window puzzles, I adored both this and the second one as they were a relatively chill time. I also picked the bundle up for a couple of bucks so even if I did end up hating it, it wouldn't have been too big of a deal It's Like Dark Souls I fear Genshin Impact is going to take up several of my awards here, but it's to be expected when you've played a game for 800+ hours so far. It's only really in this category for one particular trophy and that's for beating Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss - I banged my head against this for weeks before I finally cleared it. Bad Ass Award It's hard not to feel like an absolute badass playing as Kassandra in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Grind of the Year This was such a tough category for me, as although I put 800 hours in Genshin, it's never really felt like a grind. It was a tough call between My Time at Portia and Shining Resonance Refrain (which I've not yet finished) I think Portia just takes it because of how long sometimes it felt to grind resources, in fact I messed up at first so I started over - and instead spend the first year of the game practically preparing ahead just so I'd have a much easier time beating Higgins. Finally Done Award I love Stardew Valley, but I hated Journey of the Prairie King - Fector's Challenge had been a platinum blocker for a long time despite me practicing for at least an hour every day for a while. Once they added the ability to save between each round, it made it much much easier for me and I ended up crushing it on my first attempt to be finally done with the platinum. King of the Internet This is the only online game I've really played this year - I love the fact that my good friend Kent convinced me to play it. It's been a joy and it's gotten me involved in some of the amazing voice actor's streams and communities, and I also ran some co-op domains when I was just starting out farming artifacts and had nothing but good experiences. Worst Online Experience I've not really had a bad online experience this year Best Music So, Genshin Impact has some incredible music, but then I remembered I'd also played both Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal this year, and both have banging soundtracks. Going to give the win for this one to P5R though. Sleeper Hit of the Year I'd picked up 2064 Read Only Memories off PS+ a few years ago and ended up playing it this year during a trophy event, and it's actually pretty great. From the story, to the voice acting and the other solid elements of the game (although FU to the shooting games cos those suck) This game was a pleasant surprise to me. Biggest Bomb of the Year Actually the first game I finished this year, and honestly it was such a shame for me as I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the game, but the second half I had so many glitches and crashing issues that it 100% ruined the game for me and it's pretty much all I can think of when I recall my time with it. Best Trophy Image The platinum trophy image from Scarlet Nexus (mostly because I was too lazy to look back too far through my trophy log) Worst Trophy Image Nearly all the trophy images from Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed were like this Best Female Character Giving this one to Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey Best Male Character Yuito Sumeragi from Scarlet Nexus Best Plat of the Year It took me way too long to finally get around to playing this incredible game Worst Plat of the Year I feel this this game had no redeeming qualities. I didn't enjoy my time fighting with the awful camera angles. Most Anticipated Platinums of 2022 Horizon: Forbidden West as my big AAA game; and Tchia as a smaller indie title Edited December 12, 2021 by Mesopithecus
Phlegeth
Piece of Cake: You get the Plat playing through normally. It's Like Dark Souls: High Road Time Relic. I could have skipped it, but there came a point where I already spent too much time. And I'm really stubborn. Badass Award: Getting One Shot and Mercy or Prudence? was intense. Grind of the Year: 100 Million is a big number. And there was the Stella Dungeon, but that an AFK trophy, so not really a grind, but I hated it. Finally Done: 6 Years, 1 Month King of the Internet: It was fun fighting bosses. And I love the Lady Maria fight so much. Worst Online Experience: Assassin's Creed has the best multiplayer. When everyone plays it right. But when you get a bunch of kids running around like a chicken with their head cut off, it isn't a fun game of cat and mouse anymore. Best Music: Spoiler Sleeper Hit: I only heard about this game because I saw a streamer playing it. It's so good. Biggest Bomb: I couldn't get into it. Best Trophy Images: I really like the stained glass aesthetic. Worst Trophy Images: At least the Cold Steel will give you different medals. These are all recolors. Even the plat Best Female Character: Best Male Character: Best Plat of the Year: Bloodborne is my favorite From game. I love everything. Lady Maria is one of my favorite fights of all time. And the final boss is fantastic. And the Orphan of Kos is so intense. Wurst Plat Ov Teh Yeer: I've already mentioned it. I hate the Stella Trophy. There's a paid DLC you basically need. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: I'm going to learn how to play Mahjong. Totally, definitely.
Helyx
I enjoy these types of community discussion threads, so I went back to the events from previous years to see what my answers were and I found that I didn't post in most of them. Maybe next year you could tag all of us (maybe from the past 2 or 3 years) in the OP to make sure we see the new thread and can hop in with our opinions @Dr_Mayus.

Exeshow678
Piece of Cake Award: The Pig D Wow, what a game, sure its a stupidly easy platinum for $1.50 where all you do is hold the X button for 2-3 minutes , but in that time, I basically reflected on myself and where I'm currently at in my life, truly a game like this can make you wonder about things sometimes It's Like Dark Souls: Orc Slayer The only reason this game is on the "It's like Dark Souls" section is because THIS GAME MEGA-ASS and thats why it took me a year and a half to plat it. God-awful Frames to where it lags when more then 2 enemies are on screen, terrible aiming, repetitive "music", and i literally charged through it near the last 2 levels of the game, I turned off music and went to town on the last levels and final boss and on October 30, 2021, I finally completed ORC SLAYER after starting it in July 2020 Bad-Ass Award: Finally mastering the "basic" moves of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle lemme say... I SUCK AT THESE GAMES, so when i finally got to start doing Cross Finishes & Crush Assaults and all that jazz, I felt like a living god, who knows how intense online matches can get Grind of the Year: Finally Beating Okumura-bitch ass in Persona 5 Royal I Got my copy of P5R on November 20, 2020 and didn't beat it till November 7, 2021 and i would've probably beat it in early 2021 if it wasn't for this guy, he's the whole reason I stopped playing the game, i got to him in December 2020 and stopped playing cause (at the time) i could NOT beat him, then skip ahead to September 2021, a friend of mine gives me some advice on how to beat him, so i just go grinding for levels in mementos and wouldn't ya know it? I finally beat him, and literally 2 months later, I beat/platted the game (also maruki kinda sucked at first, but then, it's kinda fun) Finally Done: Orc Slayer - 1 year, 3 months I started his game on July 30, 2020 and finished it on October 30, 2021, this game sucked, thats why it took so long King of the Internet: Knockout City HOLY Shit... what a game.... I played the OPEN BETA in February with 2 of my buds and lemme say... THIS GAME WAS A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL OF FUN, then I bought the game the day it released, me and one of my friends get it, we play some of it, then I sorta just forgot about it cause it's not the 3 of us when the beta was out, then it becomes a PS+ game and one of my friends finally gets it and THE DREAM TEAM IS FINALLY BACK Worst Online Experience: TEKKEN 7 Now, don't get me wrong but this one is PERSONAL, just like i said with BlazBlue, basically any fighting game that isn't Smash Bros, I automatically suck at, but I had to do a few online trophies for this game and it was only a matter of luck that I happen to win a few matches, but I hated the online for this one, but JUMP FORCE from last years Awards was WAYYYYYYYYY WORSE then this will ever be, no wonder it's being shut down, good riddance... Best Music: Sonic Colors: Ultimate | Persona 5 Royal | Terraria There are 3 big hitters this year that I find to have some pretty good bangers Sonic Colors: Ultimate - The music in this game is actually pretty damn good (which is pretty expected from Sonic Games) , I had the Wii version all those years ago, but i was a dimwit child and didn't even know what I was doing, but the music is great, it's up for debate whether the new remixes are good or nah, but I personally enjoy the remixes for some like Tropical Resort & Sweet Mountain, but I could care less for the new Reach for the Stars remix, I like the OG better Persona 5 Royal - I'm pretty sure this was on last years list, but now that I have beat the game this year, the soundtrack for this game is TOP NOTCH, from the battle music, to suspenseful music, to cheerful music. All of it's great... especially the FINAL BOSS theme Terraria - once again, another true maastapiece of a soundtrack, literally everything has it's own theme from overworld, to HELL, to the variety of biomes like desert, jungle, ocean and SPAAAAACE Sleeper Hit of the Year: A Way Out There were a bunch of smaller games I could've put here, like (Super Animal Royale, Donut County, LEGO Movie: The Videogame & Ratchet & Clank 2016) just to name a few I considered, but i'm giving it to A Way Out, which is a very unique game and a damn good one at that, a friend bought and asked if i wanted to play with him, so i got that friend's pass and played it with him and it was a very interesting game, but that moment at the end, I won't spoil it, but I genuinely did not see that TWIST, because of my friend, I bought the game and platted it and now... I kinda want It Takes Two Biggest Bomb(s) of the Year: Party Crashers & The Mean Greens These shits were Garbage!! Party Crashers - Awful game, trophies are pretty much broken and will probably never be fixed since no one gives a hoot about this game The Mean Greens - shitty Toy Soldier Shooter game, you'll always play with bots or the other 3 to 4 people somehow playing this game, but if i could...i'd plat them both Best Trophy Image(s): Bugsnax & Terraria I kinda like the simplicity of these, there just the simple platinum trophy, but Bugsnax's trophy put the little eyes on it and terraria's made it look terraria-style, but it used to be different, before the Journey's End update released, it used to be a generic yellow trophy with a star on it, but this looks much better Worst Trophy Image: Tokyo Run what a shitty plat image, legit just a screenshot of the game Best Female Character(s): Chie Satonaka & Yukiko Amagi (Persona 4 Dancing) yeah I'm scraping the floor for these picks, i didn't play a lot of games with female representation, so Imma choose these 2, Chie & Yukiko from P4D, two of my favorites (personal preference), but i'm more of a Chie guy then Yukiko, but both are great Best Male Character: Kyle Crane (Dying Light) There aren't a lot of games I played this year with a solid main character, but something about Kyle Crane from Dying Light stuck with me, he truly wants the infected of Harran gone for good, and he has to go through hell to do it and taking out Rai and his men, even though you really don't see him cause it's a 1st person game (and throughout the game, all you think about is Sonic talking in a serious matter cuz the same voice actor Roger Craig Smith) sad to see him gone in Dying Light 2, but he might be an easter egg, who knows Best Plat of the Year: Terraria I've platted a LOT of games this year, both good and not so good, but Terraria might take this year's Best Platinum I earned, but I think Terraria is the better plat cause it's more rare and I had some people assist with me on it, special thanks to those folks (mostly for the pets & armor and other grindy things) Wurst Plat Ov Teh Yeer: Tokyo Run Well...turns out the platinum Image isn't the only bad thing about this game, this is one of those games where you just run, collecting points and avoiding enemies and that's it, longer you run, more points you get -> more points you get, more trophies you earn and thats why... Platinum #82: Tokyo Run is the wurst Platinum I earned the Teh Yeer 2021!!! Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: I don't know what I'll platinum in 2022, but be certain that Sonic Colors: Ultimate, Knockout City, Fallout 76, Mafia: Definitive Edition & Among Us Will be platinumed in 2022 so yeah, hope you enjoyed, this took me like..a day to type actually!! Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
I'll bite... Piece of Cake Award - Greak: Memories of Azur This isn't an EZPZ plat. You can earn it quickly and not feel like you need a shower to wash off the greasy mayo or grubby feeling you get from some other games. This one is really fun and it's not challenging either. It's got some beautiful art, it's plot is short and sweet. I feel it is totally worth the handful of hours it takes to complete the story or the two handfuls of hours for the platinum. It's Like Dark Souls - Dark Souls III It is like Dark Souls because it is Dark Souls. Honestly, this is the only game that had me good and stuck for a while. I was stuck on the Nameless King on NG+ for multiple nights. I looked up cheesy strats that didn't work out. Spent hours sitting there hoping summon would join my game to assist. I just couldn't get him, until I finally just did it. Bad Ass Award - Completing Mad Max This game is like all testosterone. Big explosions, loud bass, impactful fist fights etc. I couldn't remember exactly which trophy it was, probably one of the many things needed for Up to the Task, but one trophy will make you get a pretty high combo bonus when fighting. Something like getting 30ish hits in a row without being hit yourself. You'll need at least 8 bad guys surrounding you to not run out of goons to hit before you get the combo that high. So you just have to charge into an outpost fists-first yelling "COME AT ME BRO!!" and take on all comers with flawless execution. Pulling it off will make you feel like a badass. Grind of the Year - Marvel's Avengers No doubt entered my mind for this pick. The narrative portion of this game is great, maybe even excellent. But 10 hours in and you're out of story and you'll need about 100 more hours for the platinum. Even if everything you are doing isn't called the same name, it will feel like the same thing, and it ALL will blend together into an insane grind, especially the hives. Finally Done Award - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim This is a little early since I haven't actually got the 100%, but I'm at 93% with no plans of stopping. I've played this game before this year, but I probably never put more than two hours into the same character before. I kept nibbling at it here and there. Everyone talks about the game and how impactful it is, so I'd dust it off and try to get into it again and again and again. I've probably seen the starting wagon ride twenty times, but been in Whiterun (the first big city in the story) less than five times. Well, this time I finally committed to finishing it and I've done a proper job of it. Itprobably doesn't even make my all-time favorites list, but I can appreciate the fact that I got around to it a decade later than I could have. I still have been having a good time though. Also, shoutout to Bastion! I finished the platinum this year, but I played that on an iPad a decade ago as well! King of the Internet - Demon's Souls So, there's Type A fun, like playing basketball or making out with a cute girl. It's fun in the moment, and maybe you can look back on it fondly but it's more like a bright flash moment in time. Then you got your type B fun, like hiking up a mountain or building a miniature model of your hometown. These are more like campfires. Not much to look at, but pleasant and produces embers that burn hot long into the future. That's what the souls-like genre is for me. I don't necessarily love it while playing them, but looking back on them I feel accomplished and like I had grand adventure. After I finished the platinum, I revisited this game multiple times with @gruffiiti and I think that was probably my best online experience of the year. Worst Online Experience - Dungeon Hunter Alliance I don't put this here to shit on this game. It's an older game and on the vita. There's literally no online presence for it. The entire time I played, I never saw an online session unless I planned it using PSNP's handy feature. Even then, the online was often laggy and unreliable which didn't make it any easier on anyone. This is why it is the worst experience. As far as the people I met while working on this game goes, they were all very cool and selfless people. Each one helped with trophies multiple times for many users on their way to their own platinum. By the time I uninstalled, I was probably involved with at least a dozen different people's platinum journey; which is kind of amazing! Best Music - Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy If a soundtrack has Rick Astley on it, it's bound to be high up on my list. Everyone knows "Never Gonna Give You Up" Do yourself a favor and check out his Youtube channel. His cover of "Everlong" from the Foo Fighters is great. I also like his cover of "Better Now" from Post Malone. He also has his own relatively unknown bangers like "Beautiful Life." and a decent Christmas song for the holidays, which kind of has a hilarious video shot last year when everything had to be socially distanced. He's too under the radar for how cool of a guy he is! I bet you didn't expect a Rick Astley promotion in your year end awards posts! oh yeah.. the game has other good songs too hah. Sleeper Hit of the Year - Little Nightmares II I knew this would be good. I didn't get caught sleeping, but I bet many others did! The first game got skipped a lot because it had no platinum trophy so there aren't many returning completionists for the sequel. Do yourself a favor and play them both. Between the two, you'll spend like 10-12 hours and get one platinum trophy, which ain't bad. If you haven't given Little Nightmares a shot and you like creepy games, you're really missing out. Biggest Bomb of the Year - Watch Dogs Legion Maybe you're expecting to see The Avengers here. However, with the Avengers, I knew what I was getting into and it ticked enough boxes that it didn't disappoint me. That's not the case with Legion. I had heard pretty mixed reviews but a lot of pretty positive stuff about it from people I know irl. So I found it on a sale and gave it a shot. HATED IT! It was pretty unenjoyable the whole time. I'll go back and give it another chance at some point, but, so far, I regret starting it. Best Trophy Image - Jill of All Trades from Va-11 Hall-A Most trophy lists are kind of generic with their imagery. They all fit a pattern with minor differences. Knife in front of a triangle for one trophy, pistol in front of a triangle for another etc. Va-11 Hall-A has a really random hodge-podge of trophy images and unique names for them that make them feel special, so they stood out in my mind. That game has some great pixel art and was decent fun for a visual novel. Don't trust the trophy guide that says two hours. You need twelve to do the game properly and know what the hell the point of it is. Don't be the guy just mashing X to get through it ASAP to add a meaningless plat to the collection. Worst Trophy Image - Tell Tale's Walking Dead Series (any of them really) I revisted the whole TellTale's The Walking Dead series in the Fall and finally played the last installment to see what happened to Clementine at the end of it all. Along the way, I earned dozens of the lowest effort trophy images I've ever seen. The above image the actual trophy image for the platinum of one of the games. Can't you see all the love and care they put into these? Just copy and paste the game's logo and call it day. Lazy!!! Dishonorable mention to the many, many trophy images in the franchise that are just a numbers on a different color of background. Best Female Character - Amicia De Rune from A Plague's Tale: Innocence Amicia has a wonderful character arc. Although privledged from growing up in a wealthy and influential family, she's just a regular ol' human being and suddenly her world changes. The fact that she's grown up a bit spoiled actually just makes the fall that much farther and harder to take. It's only her determination and ego that pulls her through. She has no powers that help her out. She's just a lost teenage girl doing the best she can for herself and her little brother. She mostly has to progress by distracting guards and avoiding conflicts. She's a very human feeling as a character. Not special, not the chosen one, just a girl with grit. She's stern when she has to be, playful when she doesn't. Her French accent is charming and you'll often find yourself imitating it and yelling at Hugo the same way she would. Best Male Character - Zagreus from Hades It's your boy Zagreus. I have been a fan of Darren Korb's music forever. Now I have the chance to be a fan of his voice acting as well! I wasn't quite sure what to think about Hades' dialogue at first. The people are generally soft spoken and polite. It's strange to have so much of the narration take part this way. However, it grows on you and Zagreus is a well defined character, with a nice story arc, clear motivations, ability to change his opinion when his facts are wrong etc. Shoutout to Sturgis, my custom avatar. I first made Sturgis in Fallout 4. I don't like the name but that's what I picked that day and it's stuck around just like he has. He's carried on from there and starred in several games as the protagonist. Most recently he smashed his way through Demon's Souls and he's close to to wrapping up Skyrim too! He's all keyed up take over Destiny 2 next and help me knock out the Forsaken DLC trophies before that content gets vaulted. He's basically a buff white guy with long blonde hair and a beard. His hair is pulled back when I can get that option. It's really similar to MCU's Thor, now that I think about it. The key distinctions are his facial hair will have just his chin shaved whenever possible (called the hulihee, I think?) and his eyes have to be the most piercing, frosty blue I can get as well. He's developed a personality as well that guides my dialogue choices. He's a nice guy, but no nonsense. Wants to get shit done and not fuck around. Anyway that's Sturgis, my dude! Best Plat of the Year - Every Last One of Them - The Last of Us Part II Trying to be excited about the game was difficult due to all the vitriol, hate, and abusive language that surrounded all online dialogue about it. (We can be better people and we can be better, people!) Either way, love it or hate it, most can admit this game did a lot to make you feel something and challenge your viewpoint as a protagonist in a story. Getting this platinum was an experience. One that I am proud to have done and it also provided a dose of introspection that I am also proud to have done. Wurst Plat of Teh Yeer - Claire Extended Cut The main reason I dislike this platinum is because of a bug that caused me to replay it two extra times. I was so ready to uninstall this damn game when the platinum trophy finally popped. Even without the bug, this is lackluster and pretty nonsensical. I just didn't get it, maybe it was over my head. Nothing about Claire's tale seemed important enough to remember so I can't even say what I didn't like about it. I finished it for the first time and the only thought I had about it was like, "Well, that was dumb." Most anticipated platinum of 2022 - Horizon Zero Dawn II: Forbidden West The first game blew my mind and I really enjoyed the whole experience. I platinumed it twice and I am tempted frequently to go back and revisit it. Can't wait for the sequel to give me some fresh content in this IP. The DLC was a let down. While it had some really cool new machines and areas to explore. The story of the DLC was just like "Uh-oh! It happened again over here in the snow..." I'm crossing my fingers for an actual sequel that is as imaginative as the first game and not "Uh-oh! It happened again over here on the coast..." . ShadowSkill
Piece of Cake Award - 塔亰Clanpool No difficultly at all, no level up needed, Killed the last boss in first round and dont feel like thats the last boss... :E Easiest DRPG I even played. Character design is good but not enjoyable cause its just too easy. It’s Like Dark Souls - Entwined Five challenge mode and get 300 score are harder than dark souls. Have to control the bird and the fish both together with two analogs, its hard with my small hands. Also yours eyes have to watch left and right side, move very quickly without a half second delay for 120,140 and 300second nonstop. But feel good to see my score grows slowly during every practice. A beautiful game and love it. Bad ass Reward - Super Animal Royale I dont play PVP games much, feel so bad when seeing players injured dying on ground and waiting for help. But I still need to get my 20 melee kills to finish them. X_X Grind of the Year - Wilmot's Warehouse Stock are all random. Most of the trophies need to get four same type of stock to unlock. I have played at least 20 more runs to unlock the last four I need. You never know the missing one will comes or not on the last round of restock till finish a whole run. Finally done award - Tearaway Unfolded Got this from Plus since 2017, played the vita version already. Clean up finally. Still good to play, but sure you will get mad if missing one confetti :D... King of the Internet - Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Its a four years old game, been played for 5500hours and still playing everyday. Good to see still many old and news players and meet lots of skillful players there. Worst Online Experience -None Best Music - Aaero Actually its a music+shooting game. The Tracks and game play are so enjoyable also with boss fight. A Hidden Gem! Best Sleeper Hit - Sea of Solitude Got this from EAplay, the story is ok but the game play is crap and repeat...not fun and boring. Biggest Bomb of the Year - X-Morph: Defense Got this from Plus, coop with my sis for all gold medals. The game freezed with a horrible loud voice a few times in the middle of stage, I was scared my Ps4 is finished. The last boss stage is bugged, the boss is not moving or dead. We tried for at least 3 nights with all method still cant be done. Finally I have to replay all the stages for gold medal again by myself. Its a bomb for you and your PS4. Best Trophy Image - Heavenly Bodies (A Classical Mechanic) Love the stamp design and newtonican picture. Worst Trophy Image - Rune Factory 4 Special (First Request Solved) what a lazy trophy image set...look at that resolution. Best Female Character - Yakuza: Like A Dragon (Seong-hui) A leader and beautiful lady but cant get her into team. :') Best Male Character - Yakuza: Like A Dragon (Yu Nanba) I like his story much, also cases high damage and good healer. Best Plat of the Year - It Takes Two Very great level design and gameplay, lot of fun, Best GOTY coop game. Worst Plat of the Year - X-Morph: Defense Like I said above, this buggy game took me three full playthoughts to get the plat. I dont really want to play it again after the first run. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: Hollow Knight: Silksong Been waiting for so long, hope its coming very soon.
JoaoQuique
Long time I don't see you guys... Okay, let's start: The JoaoQuique's Piece of Cake Award goes to: Games by POWGI (PS4 & PS5) These games are a lot easy (sometimes even if you aren't using a guide), have lots of stacks, and to make everything better, they're fun!! I'm even keeping "Gaps" on my PS5 until I complete every puzzle of the game. Honorable Mention: Knight's Retreat (if you're using a video guide) The JoaoQuique's It's Like Dark Souls Award goes to: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4) Okay, this game is nothing compared to Souls-like games or stuff, but this game is the one I had used more "retries" to complete it... The JoaoQuique's Badass Award goes to: "Duty Calls" event in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4) It's an event that requires you to run 10,8 km (6,6 miles) in about 1:56.00, while the game mode of this event penalizes you in some second for every hit you have... It took me about 20 retries to complete it, but I elect this moment for this award because I had fun with these tryings instead of being frustrated... Honorable mentions: Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout (when I won a small tournament from the company I work), NBA 2k Playgrounds (when, while I was grinding for Level 50, I noticed that I would be able to get the trophy for winning a championship in the hardest difficulty) The JoaoQuique's Grind of the Year Award goes to: WRC 6 (PS4) To get this Platinum, you're required to complete 5.000 km and 1.000 events - the problem is you get every accomplishment of this game (besides events and distance mileage) in the first 2.000 km... At least, I had fun completing this distance (about 100 km a day), since I was listening to podcasts while gaming WRC. Honorable Mentions: Disgaea 4 Complete+, Just Cause 2 (due to a lot of "collectibles") The JoaoQuique's Finally Done Award goes to: inFamous 2 (PS3) Got this one by US PS+, but I haven't completed it before PS+ expiration. After re-subscribing US PS+ for a year, this game was the first which was finally completed, before 8 years and 10 months. Technically, Trine 2 had taken more time (9 years and 1 month), but I elected inFamous 2 in this award because I was intended to complete this one, while Trine 2 was completed by "why not now?"... Honorable mentions: Just Cause 2 (8 years, 1 month), Sideway NY (7 years, 6 months, no Platinum), Labyrinth Legends (7 years, 7 months, no Platinum), Saints Row The Third (7 years, 8 months), Zombie Tycoon 2 (7 years, 10 months), Trine 2, Dragon Ball: Battle of Z (7 years, 2 months) The JoaoQuique's King of the Internet Award goes to: Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout (PS4) I'm not into online gaming, and I think I had spent more time gaming online in F1 2021 than in Fall Guys, but I choose this one because it's still a great game to play sometimes, plus a moment I put on "Badass Award". The JoaoQuique's Worst Online Experience "Award" goes to: Monster Energy Supercross (PS4) Despite this game doesn't have "online trophies", this game has "online content", and that "online content" is a lot awful to navigate through it... The JoaoQuique's Best Music Award goes to: Dodgeball Academia (PS4) Actually, I'm not a person that pays attention to music, especially when I listen to podcasts while gaming, but I've played this game without podcasts (some games aren't good to play while listening to podcasts, and this game is one of them), and the music of this game is so nice... The JoaoQuique's Sleeper Hit of the Year Award goes to: Dodgeball Academia (PS4) Probably I'm cheating putting this game as "Sleeper Hit" since I've bought this one on launch at full price... However, I've done it because this game was receiving lots of positive evaluations from some Brazilian influencers from Twitter, and this game looks so pretty... So I played this game and, yes, this game IS great!! Funny storyline (very "shonen-like"), good music, great gameplay, awesome art and animations... One of the best indie games from 2021 so far!! (and since this game is one step below indies like "Hades", "Kena", or "Unsighted", I can say that this game is a great "Sleep Hitter"...) The JoaoQuique's Biggest Bomb of the Year "award" goes to: Madden NFL 21 (PS4 & PS5) This game was elected not because I would regret buying it (I only have no regrets because I could buy the PS4 version and receive the PS5 version together), but because this game doesn't worth the price I've paid on it... (even considering that I took the best sale of this game....) And look at this image... Common sense said that they should make an icon for PS5 and then adapt it to PS4, not the contrary... (Dis-)Honorable mentions: Dreaming Canvas (didn't take the top spot due to smaller time to complete and because this one doesn't have a Platinum, so far this is the worst game I've played this year...), F1 2021 PS5 version (this actually is a great game, however, from a game bought in pre-launch, the vibration of this game is awful with the DualSense...) The JoaoQuique's Best Trophy Image Award goes to: "School Champion!", from Dodgeball Academia (PS4) This image always puts a smile on my face... Honorable mentions: Anyone from 'Hap Inc.' games (Mom hid my game! 1 and 2, Hide and Dance! - I love that family!!) The JoaoQuique's Worst Trophy Image "award" goes to: Need for Speed Heat (PS4) If this game was released to PS5 instead of PS4, the game's icon and the trophies' icon would have no difference between each other... (Dis-)Honorable mentions: Just Cause 2 (Platinum icon is the same as any Bronze's icon), Monster Energy Supercross (Platinum icon = Game's logo) The JoaoQuique's Best Female Character Award goest to: Pamela Ibis, from Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World (PS4) First of all, I must say that I'm not used to playing games with "a deep storyline" (I do prefer playing games that are more "soft and comfy"), so my "best characters" will be basically "characters that caught me more attention". As a fan of the Atelier series, I've used to see her as a ghost, but in this game, she apparently is a kind of "spirit" (more information would be spoilers, although the storyline of any game from the Atelier series isn't so deep...). Makes sense considering the jokes of this game (Hagel, another character that appears a lot in Atelier games, usually is a blacksmith, however, in "Nelke", he's a carpenter), but, because of this "fact", I elected her as "Best Female Character"... Honorable mentions: Madeline & "Badeline" (Celeste - these two make the game great), Nix (inFamous 2 - she's freaking badass!) The JoaoQuique Best Male Character Award goes to: King Evan, from Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (PS4) A great character, from a great game, that has a great duty, and do his best. No more words are needed... Honorable mentions: Valvatorez (Disgaea 4 Complete+ - my favorite Disgaea character), Balloony (Dodgeball Academia - okay, there's a balloon character in The Amazing World of Gumball, but this character is not as awesome as Balloony...) The JoaoQuique's Best "Genderless" Character Award (suggestion of an award) goes to: Homura, from Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of Dusk Sea Plus (Vita) One of the best kind of characters from the Dusk series as a playable character? I'm in... Honorable mentions: Astro (Astro's Playroom) The JoaoQuique's Best Plat of the Year Award goes to: Astro's Playroom (PS5) This game is a must for any PS5 holder!! The JoaoQuique's Best Non-Plat of the Year Award (suggestion of an award) goes to: Mom hid my Game!! (1 & 2 - PS4) One of the most fun games I've played in 2021 - despite I've already played them on my phone. I suggest you play the games from Hap Inc. if you have Android smartphones (I don't know if these games are available for iPhones...) Honorable mention: King Oddball (it's obvious when the fact is I've completed this game a fourth time on PS5...) The JoaoQuique's Best Non-Playstation-Game of the Year Award (suggestion of an award) goes to: Pokémon Masters EX (Mobile) Actually, I'm not a person that plays so many video games outside Playstation or Pokémom games (I'm a "Poké-Maniac"), so my choice can't be so different as a Pokémon game. When launched in 2019, I've started to play this game (still "Pokémon Masters") on day-1, but I left it some days after... By a reason I don't know, I've restarted to play this game, and finally this game "hooked me"... The JoaoQuique's Wurst Plat ov the Yeer "award" goes to: Timber Tennis: Versus (PS4) Pretty random mechanics, grindy online and offline trophies, pixel art that "does not the kind I like"... Actually this year was great for me on gaming, so I simply had chosen the "most boring" Platinum of the year in this category... And I hadn't chosen "Dreaming Canvas" on this category because this game doesn't have Platinum... The JoaoQuique's Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022 is: Persona 5 Royal (PS4) Simply because I know Persona 5 is a great game, so Persona 5 Royal is at least as awesome as, and I intend to have this game's Platinum as my 20.000th trophy... The JoaoQuique's Most Anticipated Game of 2022 (Platinum not required) is: Gran Turismo 7 (PS4 & PS5) I'm supposing I won't be able to Platinum it, like Gran Turismo 5... MadDoggMajima
I started trophy hunting this year, so I don't exactly have a lot to show for these awards, but here we gooooo! PIECE OF CAKE AWARD My Name Is Mayo. Literal joke game. Next. IT'S LIKE DARK SOULS 'A Man Chooses' in Bioshock: Remastered. I already think that the original Bioshock is frustrating enough on normal difficulty! BAD ASS AWARD See 'It's Like Dark Souls'. GRIND OF THE YEAR Assassin's Creed Origins. In typical Ubisoft fashion, large-ass open world with a seemingly infinite amount of stuff to do. It was fun cleaning up every area at first, but it quickly became very draining. Why did I plat three Ubisoft games this year? Honorable mention to 'No More Fish In The Sea' from Okami HD, fishing minigames suck. FINALLY DONE Marvel's Spider-Man. Took me 8 months and 3 weeks to finish this one, but only because I initially played it back in 2020 before I began hunting, and got back into it to do the remaining trophies much later. KING OF THE INTERNET/WORST ONLINE EXPERIENCE I don't play online games, I prefer single-player experiences, so nothing to see here. BEST MUSIC Sonic Colors: Ultimate. Sonic games almost always have absolute bangers of soundtracks, and this was no exception. The remixed soundtrack in this remaster IMO was great. Honorable mention to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which continues the movies' tradition of having a fantastic playlist of retro hits.SLEEPER HIT Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Went in expecting Avengers 2.0, came out satisfied from a surprisingly good superhero game. Give it a shot if you haven't! BIGGEST BOMB Oddly enough, nothing. I generally liked every game I played this year both old and new. I did try the first Borderlands and got real bored after it after a while, so I guess that's my biggest bomb? BEST TROPHY IMAGE Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has some real nice looking trophy images, I love that combination of purple and pink, same for Cyberpunk 2077 which has a similar style. God of War's trophy images are stylized like ancient drawings of some sort, and look pretty neat. Gravity Rush Remastered has a cool comic book style for its trophies. WORST TROPHY IMAGE Detroit: Become Human. Hope you like triangles! Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Variety would be nice. BEST FEMALE CHARACTER Amaterasu from Okami is the definition of a good dog. BEST MALE CHARACTER Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza: Like A Dragon. I didn't have much hope Kiryu's successor would fill in his shoes with much success, but through for the course of the game I found myself really liking this lovable dork, and I'm excited to see his story continue in Yakuza 8. Honorable mentions go to Ezio from Assassin's Creed II, Vaas from Far Cry 3: Classic Edition, Cole Phelps from L.A. Noire, Connor from Detroit: Become Human, Delsin Rowe from inFamous: Second Son and Bigby Wolf from The Wolf Among Us. BEST PLAT OF THE YEAR It's a tie between Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Okami HD! There were some frustrations here and there but I loved these games so much when I played them! WORST PLAT OF THE YEAR Disregarding My Name Is Mayo, the worst plat of this year for me had to be Detroit: Become Human. I loved it the first time around but the two extra playthroughs after that just about made me hate this game and never want to play it again. MOST ANTICIPATED 2022 The Dead Space remake. I'm just happy to see my favorite horror franchise back from the... well.... dead, and I have faith that EA Motive will do it justice. Elden Ring. Never was too interested in Soulsbournekiros or whatever the internet calls them, but this particular one seems fun. God Of War: Ragnarök. Loved the first one when I played it this year (still have to platinum it sometime), so of course I'm grabbing this. Sonic Frontiers. Please, for the love of all things holy, do not mess this up Sega. The Legend Of Zelda: BOTW Sequel. Not PS, but you know exactly why it's here.
LancashireLad87
Piece of Cake Award - Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue This is without question the easiest game or 100% on my list. It's practically a demo with trophy support which is very unusual, if your not familiar or experienced with the fighting genre this is the best starting point in my opinion. Difficulty wise it would be a 1/10 for me whilst someone with 0 experience it would be no higher than a 2/10. It’s Like Dark Souls - Sekiro Shadow's Die Twice Created by FromSoftware, Sekiro is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. Stunning locations, fantastic level design, fast and rewarding combat, great bosses and a high skill ceiling, what more do you want? This is quite possibly the best game I've played through this year, difficulty is incredibly subjective even more so with soul-likes, in my opinion this game is no lower than an 8/10. I had a much easier time with BloodBorne, Dark Souls Remastered and Demon's Souls. Bad ass Reward - Doom Eternal This might ruffle a few feathers but In my opinion Doom Eternal is the best first-person shooter of the last 20 years. Combat is a ballet of destruction, ripping through hordes of demons with flair and finesse is incredibly rewarding. Enemies feel like chess pieces on the board, even the most basic infantry units Imps are much more intimidating when your efforts are shifted towards a much greater threat! The music is just as important as the gameplay and Mick Gordon smashes it out of the park with arguably one of the best soundtracks ever made. Iconic songs such as Cultist Base, Super Gore Nest and The Only Thing They Fear Is You pumps your adrenaline up to 11 as you rip and tear through the demonic forces of hell. Content wise your getting a lot of bang for the buck, not only do you have Doom Eternal to play through but you can play Doom 1 and Doom 2 via a PC within the Fortress of Doom in their entirety. The DLC's are quite expensive though, fortunately I purchased them on sale but since I haven't got round to them yet I'm unable to comment on them. You can unlock various skins for not only the slayer but enemies as well, the levels are fantastic and compliment the games OST. If you had to clear Ultra Nightmare difficulty then this would be the most skill based shooter on the system. In Doom 2016 you could blitz through the game with a single weapon but in Doom Eternal that shit won't fly. Grind of the Year - Diablo 3 Eternal Collection I spent almost 100 hours playing through Diablo 3 and it's DLC which was a blast, don't get me wrong I love Diablo but the 500 bounties was complete unnecessary. I'm not sure how many hours me and a friend grinded bounties for but it felt like an eternity. Finally done award - Wet It took me a while to complete Wet on the PlayStation 3 which I finished off back in January. Wet is under-rated in terms of difficulty I'd personal give it a solid 7/10 as some of the Boneyard challenges are tight. In fact I got the exact same time as the gold medal on almost a third of them which shows how tight they are. Point mode isn't that hard since you can accumulate points fairly easy with the correct strategy. King of the Internet - N/A Worst Online Experience - N/A Best Music - Doom Eternal Best Sleeper Hit - N/A Biggest Bomb of the Year - N/A Best Trophy Image - Final Fantasy X HD Feel The Pain: Acquire Anima! Worst Trophy Image - N/A Best Female Character - Sheva Alomar Best Male Character - Dante because who doesn't like Dante? Best Plat of the Year - King of Fighters 13 Worst Plat of the Year - N/A Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: Black Myth Wukong (Not sure on release date but most excited for this one)
Jake-TheGreat97
Piece of Cake Award Subnautica, (twice). Platinum Trophy Collect all other trophies 3rd Apr 2021 Platinum Trophy Collect all other trophies 10th Jun 2021 It's like Dark souls Award Cuphead Grand Uproar Obtain all other trophies 11th Dec 2021 Not as hard as I was expecting, but definitely the hardest plat for me this year. Bad Ass Award. Legendary Cowboy Achieve at least an S Rank on all stages in The Mercenaries. 30th May 2021 Honestly would probably also give this to the Cuphead platinum again, but since I don't want to repeat my self too much I'll give it to S ranking all the mercenary levels in RE Village Grind of the Year Award Resident Evil Village The only reason for this is that I spent a little under 50 hours with this game, the most of any game this year. Finally Done Award beating Days Gone Days Done Complete the story of Days Gone 1st May 2021 Yep, that's right simply beating this game was enough for me. Overall I found this game to be way too long. By the time I was finally done I had no interest in getting the platinum and still don't Best/worst online experience of the year award N/A I actually didn't really play that much online this year, so I don't really have any awards to give out in either category. Best Music Tie between Celeste and Cuphead I really don't have much to say other than I really like the soundtracks to both these games Biggest Bomb Award N/A I was fortunate enough not to play any bombs this year. Although if this was last year this award would easily go to Cyberpunk 2077. Best Trophy image MediEvil Worst Trophy Image Resident Evil 4 I mean, just look at it. Best Female Character The shark from Maneater Best Male Character Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4 Platinum of the Year Resident Evil Village Worst Platinum of the Year Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart The only reason why I think that this is the worse plat of the year is because of how easy it was. Unlike other Ratchet games, you don't even need to complete the game 100% to get the platinum this time around. This includes collecting all of the the gold bolts, or in this games case, not collecting all of the bolts. Most Anticipated platinum of 2022 Horizon Forbidden West I mean considering it's a first party open world PlayStation game it will probably be more time consuming than difficult. Plus going for the platinum in the first game is probably the the major reason for me liking the game more than I did after initially beating it.
SpaceCoresDad
Oh shit!!! I've been looking forward to this year's year end awards! Just got caught up on the thread, lots of great replies so far. Time to throw my own hat in! Piece of Cake Award .detuned With the announcement of the closure of the PS3 store this year, I went and got a whole bunch of ancient games that I never had the opportunity to play before (probably because I was a kid and didn't have any money when I played the PS3 long ago!). This was one of them! It's literally just showing how you can play music on the PS3, a feature I think barely anyone used. This 100% took me a whole 7 minutes. Don't regret it though! It was interesting seeing how this kind of software has evolved overtime into stuff like Astro's Playroom. It's Like Dark Souls Savage Halloween No buts about it, this game is TOUGH. It's old school in all the best ways, has fantastic, tight controls, great references to old NES games, and for better or for worse, the difficulty is definitely there. There are occasional extra lives, but you get 3 continues, and no way to get more. Not the end of the world, until you need to beat the game with each of the three characters without getting a game over, AND complete Hardcore Mode, which means if you take one hit, you die instantly. Thank god for the Restart Room exploit, or there's no way I ever could have done this. It's hard, but I still absolutely recommend this game btw. Bad Ass Award Dark Souls III: The Ringed City Platinumed this game early this year, and the friend who gave it to me made me go through the DLC too. I fucking beat Slave Knight Gael. If you know, you know. I am a goddamn CHAMPION. Grind of the Year Far Cry 2 Yeah. I did this one. I always held off on the old Far Cry games because I was waiting for a remaster without the online, but when I heard Far Cry 6 was adding "all the best" Far Cry villains, and that only included 3, 4, and 5, I knew it wasn't coming. So, yeah, I got the online done. No single player yet but I don't even care, this game took FOREVER. Getting the 16 people for War Party was a major hassle, and the manual grind was just so, so brutal. I did it with a friend instead of self-boosting too, which just made it take even longer for the both of us. The absolute epitome of terrible early PS3 online trophies, but at least it's done. Somehow. Finally Done Award inFAMOUS A whole SIX YEARS AND TEN MONTHS after starting this game, it's finally over. I remember when I played this, ages and ages ago. I actually played Infamous 2 first, though it was on a different profile because I was a dumb baby who didn't get Playstation profiles, and then later I wanted to play the original. I beat it, but never platinumed it. Years and years later, I was increasingly unenthusiastic about the last few stunts I never did, and getting all the blast shards with no in-game tracker, but I finally went and got it. And you know what? It wasn't too bad! Evil Playthrough was a lot of fun too, even on hard mode, and overall I enjoyed myself. Went through 2 and Festival of Blood again too for proper series completion. Good times. King of the Internet Battlefield V Technically I don't have the platinum for this one, but honestly it's just a matter of time. I had a lot of fun with this! Battlefield isn't really my scene normally, but a boosting group of friends I'm in started doing all the misc stuff, and I actually had a lot of fun just fucking around with them and earning trophies. Lots of mentions of "Fortnite Gaming" with the random building mechanics in this one, and when it came time to grind, we still had a good time with one another. Good times. Worst Online Experience Wake-up Club Similar to the PS3 store, when I heard the Vita store was going down I scrambled to get stuff I found interesting but never played on my Vita. Wake-up Club was one of those things. It is literally just an alarm clock app mixed with other people, and man, the trophies for this shit are REAL dumb. Good fucking luck getting 12 people to wake up together in the year of our lord 2021. I had to set the alarm to times people would be waking up in Japan, and even then, it still took me weeks in real life to actually get this done. Very frustrating, basically entirely RNG, and no communication with those you're "waking up" with. Bad. Best Music I'm a big metal fan. This game has an entirely power metal soundtrack. Not only was it a kickass fighting game, but my ears were happy the entire time. Loved it. Sleeper Hit of the Year Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus I had never heard of this game before, I just randomly came across it for like 3 bucks several years ago and heard it was a fun Metroidvania. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY when I actually played it this year. This game fucking ROCKS. It has FANTASTIC Metroidvania mechanics, keeping you going back to old areas just enough to keep them fresh in your mind, without ever being annoying. The upgrades were interesting, the worldbuilding was super neat, and the devs even made up their own musical language for the cute little denizens of this land! It's very immersive too, to the point where I kind of felt like I knew the language myself by the end of playthrough two. Don't be put off by the low 100% percentage or the lack of plat: this game is absolutely worth your time. Biggest Bomb of the Year VA-11 Hall-A Everyone told me this game was a fun, story based, cyberpunk, bartending sim. And you know, it is most of those things. I liked 2064: Read Only Memories, and generally this type of game always makes me smile, so I was excited to finally get a chance to play it. And I mean, for the most part, it's fine. Except, you know, for the visibly underage prostitute that just keeps coming up again and again. I mean honestly, I'd be okay with that if it was portrayed as this tragic and fucked up thing that's just going on in this cyberpunk dystopia or whatever, but nope! She loves her job, apparently! Having the body of a 10-13 year old girl and having sex with men who fantasize her as their daughter is A-OK according to these developers! It honestly made me feel REALLY gross every time she came back on screen, but since I wanted to give the devs TOTAL the benefit of the doubt, I decided to see if they had any kind of statement on the issue that might clear it up. It only made things even worse. I don't understand why this game is such an indie darling with such gross shit being put in it, especially when it's implied that a couple of the main characters have used her "services" themselves too. Actually disgusting. Ugh. Onto a lighter topic. Best Trophy Image Deathloop - Into Eternity Gotta say, I'm a BIG fan of the art style that Deathloop went with. It definitely deserved that Game Award for best art direction, and that includes the trophy art. The platinum image is very stand-out, but the whole list honestly has a lot of great art. It's nice, since I didn't have many other great standouts this year in terms of nice art. Mostly middle of the road stuff this year. Worst Trophy Image Batman: Arkham Asylum - Platinum Trophy Look, I love Arkham Asylum. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I have plenty of great memories of playing it when it came out. Most of the trophy art is even quite good! Which is why it baffles me so much that the platinum looks so shitty. What's with that resolution??? Why is he so blurry? This is from the original PS3 version, but it baffles me even more that they didn't even fix the resolution for the remaster! It bothers me soooooooo much, I had to give this one the award, even if some other games I played maybe had blander or less inspired art. Best Female Character Returnal - Selene I loved Returnal a LOT, and a big part of that is how interesting a character Selene is. She's a no-nonsense scientist, which is always nice to see in an action game, but the amount of guilt she carries and how she investigates that guilt is really, really interesting. I won't give too many spoilers because this game is a chock to the brim with great story if you go looking for it, but she was great. Enough said. Best Male Character Ghost of Tsushima - Jin Sakai Ghost of Tsushima is fantastic, and a big part of that comes from how interesting the main character is. Jin's story is a really interesting rework of the classic honorable samurai story, where normally the main character would find success in retaining their honor and not having to be the "bad guy," Jin finds the most success in using underhanded tactics to beat an opponent far more powerful than him. How this affects his relationships is really, really interesting, and I adored seeing how he grew and changed throughout the game's story. As if the gameplay wasn't already enough to make me love it! Best Plat of the Year Carrion I love Carrion. I know this isn't meant to be game of the year, but the trophies you get for Carrion are just for getting 100% in the game, and I've done that three times now. Once on PC, then Switch, then finally on PS4 now that it's finally out. This game just goes SO DAMN HARD and I was gutted when I found out it wouldn't be coming to Playstation. Now it's here though, and I was happy to play it all over again. Only problem is that the free Christmas DLC doesn't have any trophies, so get on that Devolver! Otherwise, it's just great. Couldn't hope for better. Wurst Plat ov teh Yeer Aliens: Colonial Marines What a complete and utter waste of time and energy. I'm actually a big fan of bad games, but man, this one is just on another level. The singleplayer requirements were already grindy and difficult for a terrible goddamn game, and then you tack on multiplayer and you reach a new level of low. There's even DLC trophies! And they suck too! The ONLY saving grace is that the online is fairly straightforward with a partner, but holy fuck just do not try and complete this. Play it as a joke maybe, check out the awful Alien AI, but it is not worth the completion. Never, ever again. Most Anticipated Plat of 2022 Horizon Forbidden West It could only ever be this. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of my favorite games of all time, and if this is even half as good I'll still be satisfied. Can't wait to dive in all over again, literally this time since there's underwater swimming in this one! I can't wait. Major hype, and a Day 1 purchase for me. This was a long, crazy year, and I got a lot of games done that I wanted to because of. My PS3 event (badges still pending... unfortunately) helped me charge through a lot more than I otherwise would have, and I got to play a lot of stuff I wanted to also! Hope everyone enjoyed 2021 as much as they could, and hey, here's to an even better 2022!
fbdbh
Piece of Cake: Spectrewoods I pressed forward for five minutes, it was riveting. It’s Like Dark Souls: Sekiro Well, it is like Dark Souls. I spent 12 hours on Isshin Ashina. But I got the platinum. Badass Award: Rainbow Six Siege. 4 kills in a round & some really stylish and stealthy takedowns. Grind of the Year: Rogue Galaxy. For the level 99 trophy I was still running up and down the ghost ship well after I finished the game. I watched 7 movies (!) on a laptop while I did that. Finally Done It Award: Rainbow Moon 7 years, 1 month. All on a PS Vita. King of the Internet: Rainbow Six Siege I can’t stop. Worst Online Experience: Rainbow Six Siege F*ck ranked Best Music: Hades It just senselessly murders every competition out there. Can’t wait to plat the other version too. Sleeper Hit of the Year: Outriders I reviewed this game, and my first impressions were negative. They aren’t all positive now, but I think there’s much more to it, it’s polished and fun, and it has a very forgiving, well-paced platinum. Biggest Bomb of the Year: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy I have zero comments. Best / Trophy Image: Not going to scroll through dozens of pages lol Best Female Character: Rivet (Ratchet & Clank) She could take over the series - but the writers should lean more into what makes her unique. Best Male Character: Zagreus (Hades) He’s so polite! How many fighters are this polite in games? Love him. Best Plat of the Year: Hades It was the perfect flow. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022: Elden Ring I am not a very original man. Edited December 15, 2021 by fbdbh

ParkestNight
Piece of Cake - The Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series In traditional TellTale fashion, you’re only required to play through all episodes and chapters whilst making whichever choices you’d like. This game went under my radar for a while but I really enjoyed the story. It’s Like Dark Souls - Greedfall & Mafia: Definitive Edition I’m not suggesting Greedfall is comparable to the Souls-like games, but I honestly found its Extreme difficulty to be true to its name as enemies can easily kill you (the janky controls also work against you). The guardian Nadaig are tough minibosses on this difficulty as well. Strangely, I had the least amount of trouble with the final boss, who is more of a bullet sponge than a real challenge. Greedfall aside, my single most frustrating 2021 gaming moment by far is Mafia: Definitive Edition's infamous race on Classic difficulty. Your fellow competitors’ max speed is higher than yours, and they are both the unstoppable force AND the immovable object; one slight breeze and/or love tap later, you go spinning out of control and you have zero chance of catching up (your opponents, on the other hand, seem unaffected when you hit them). Finally, the mocking chapter name (“Fair Play”) adds insult to injury. It took me hours just to get past this one section - loved the game otherwise! Badass Award - "Dragon of Legend" from Yakuza Kiwami 2 The story of Yakuza Kiwami 2 is great, and the Dragon of Dojima's final fight with Ryuji on the Millenium Tower in Legend difficulty and the name of the trophy are especially badass! Grind of the Year - Judgment The Completion List of the Yakuza series is replaced with the KamuroGo missions in Judgment. Same thing, different name: do everything (main and side missions, minigames, activities, dates, restaurants, etc.)! I hated the Kamuro of the Dead minigame (not hard but I’m easily spooked by zombies, undead, etc.), drone racing (little room for mistakes), Dice & Cube (just not fun), and waiting for all the Quickstarter projects to show up. I suppose I'm demonstrating poor Judgment (heh) by having expected anything other than a huge grind in a RGG Studio game. Finally Done - Fallout 3 11 years, 7 months - I hadn't met the requirements for finding all 100 iron ingots in The Pitt. I was missing just one ingot; it turns out that I had to wait a bit for the ingot to load and spawn into the world. Oof. King of the Internet - Destiny 2 Destiny 2 is my chill, non-trophy hunting game I play when I can’t choose a game from my HUGE backlog. Shooting aliens in the face is fun, too! For anyone interested, Destiny 2 is FTP and the winter holiday event is currently active! Worst Online Experience - Fallout Guys: Ultimate Knockout I’ve had issues each session this year: lag, getting kicked out of games/lobbies, not getting rewards I should have earned, etc. The only other always-online game I play is Destiny 2 (which I put way more hours into), and I still had worse experiences with Fall Guys. Best Music - NieR: Automata I enjoyed this game, but I thought the music was phenomenal – it was beautiful and conveyed emotions well. Sleeper Hit - Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020 I don’t play sports game (not that this one is a “proper” sports game, mind you), but it was surprisingly fun. I didn’t expect to enjoy the game as much as I did when it popped up on PS Now, but I’m glad I played it. Biggest Bomb of the Year - The Last of Us Part II As someone who loved the first game, I had high hopes for the narrative of The Last of the Us: Part II; too high apparently, as its story failed to resonate with me like the first game did. I really wanted to like it, but I didn't. The story is intended to be one of revenge, which to me indicates intimacy; however, instead of a story involving a small number of characters, the game introduces unimportant characters (and entire factions) that serve little to no purpose in the immediate narrative. As a result, the story buckles under its own weight and its pacing suffers, in my opinion. It is disappointing since I believe the defining strengths of the first game were its story (especially its arguably perfect open-ended conclusion) and characters. Best Trophy Image - "Notorious P.U.G." from Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse I mean, it’s a pug. Kind of ugly, but ultimately cute. All my homies are about the pug life. Worst Trophy Image - "Dognation Level 1" from Undertale The art itself isn’t bad, but all the trophy images on the list are almost the same. The only difference is that the colour of the dog corresponds to the level of the trophy (silver, gold, etc.). Best Female Character - Ellie from The Last of Us Part II While I believe the story and characters in general don’t hold a candle to those of the first game, Ellie has a clear motivation and purpose. She is on the warpath and kills who she must along the way; however, she is also affected by her own actions, traumatized by what she has seen and done. She isn’t one-dimensional; some may view her as a monster, others as a victim, but her experience is laden with loss. Best Male Character - Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima Jin’s transformation from a Sakai clan samurai to the Ghost is one of tragedy, sadness, self-doubt, struggle, and necessity. He is forced to adopt an “honourless” methodology and identity to save his people from the Mongols, even as he comes to odds with his family and friends. At the end of the story, which is the mask: Jin Sakai or the Ghost? Best Platinum of the Year - Ghost of Tsushima Minus the collectibles, I loved everything about Ghost of Tsushima. The customization, outfits, story, characters, environments, themes, etc. There’s a lot to do (which in most games would overwhelm me), but the world was just so beautiful I wanted to keep exploring; I even found all the optional outfit pieces, etc. I loved the Iki Island expansion as well but if the base game was too much for you, be warned that Iki Island is more of the same. Wurst Platinum ov the Yeer - Siegecraft Commander My PS Now subscription was going to run out and I learned that this game was a short Platinum. Jokes on me, the game isn’t good. I should have let PS Now go in peace, remembering it not as it is, but as it was. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2022 Award - Horizon Forbidden West Last year, I said God of War: Ragnarok, then the game was pushed to a 2022 release. This year, I'm much more excited for Horizon Forbidden West, especially after seeing some recent gameplay videos.
