What a terrible experience this was... boring campaign, enemies wallbanging you through 3 houses while you can't even wallbang a wood fence, enemies with infinity ammo, trophies with RNG related stuff and even more. Don't recommend it at all, the only section that I had some fun was during the time trials.

Well, this game was a little better than I expected, although there's not much to it and it still feels kinda janky (especially when it comes to the soundtrack and voice acting, which I just muted after getting all the tokens). The controls, gameplay, and graphics were surprisingly decent, and I did have some fun with the game. There's no story, but rather an open world and a bunch of tournaments and other events to do, and you have to get a Gold Medal on all of them for the platinum. The events include time trials, races, and target practice. Only a handful were mildly challenging, the rest were easy. There are 50 tokens for each of the 5 dragons that, upon collecting, give each respective dragon a certain ability. There's no collectible guide (there used to be YouTube videos, but the uploader's channel got deleted), but the tokens were very easy to find and the last 10 are actually be displayed on the map after getting the others. Also, the tokens emit a sound when you're near them so yeah, not hard and quick to find (around an hour per dragon).

 

All in all, an alright game and fairly easy platinum.

Tier 1 Update - Dirt Rally 2.0 (0.12%)

140+ hours for this one.  Was it worth it?

Despite the intimidating image this rally racing-sim and its predecessor have built over the years, earning the platinum in Dirt Rally 2.0 doesn't really involve anything spectacular. You cruise through the historic championships and rallycross events on Very Easy, complete some daily/weekly challenges to grind for cash, buy a few cars, and finish in the "top tier" of a daily in the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 (which can be done pretty easily in a Delta daily). Seems pretty easy, right?

The real challenge is the DLC (5 packs in all) with the star of the show being the notorious "...Flatout" trophy.
You'll have to complete each of the 40 Colin McRae DLC scenarios on Very Hard difficulty to bag this trophy and, let me tell you, this monstrous feat will put your patience and your racing skills to the ultimate test (especially if you're like me and played just about everything else in the game on Very Easy ). "Very Hard" is, unsurprisingly, Very Hard and I spent hours painstakingly burning each track into memory until I was fast enough to one-up the competition.

A few of these scenarios were insane, requiring hours upon hours of practice to pass (I found 2-5, 3-10, and 3-12 to be the hardest of the bunch). Most of the rest required persistence, but were nothing too mind-melting. Sometimes, when you've been practicing awhile, your car can start to feel like a natural extension of yourself. You'll think you're in total control and take each turn almost as effortlessly as you breathe. It's hard to compare the satisfaction I felt in those moments to anything else I've experienced in gaming. It's like some sort of racing "zen" except you're blazing down a dirt road at 170 km/h with the smallest rogue bump threatening to undo your entire existence (honestly, rally racers are goddamn lunatics ?).

So, was it worth it? For me, absolutely. For you, I guess it'll depend on how much you enjoy rolling your car and flying into trees. 



I also completed Catherine: Full Body (2.75%)! You can read more about my thoughts on the game on my checklist if you're curious (they're some of the worst updates I've ever written though, so be warned ). The gist of it is that I really enjoyed the story and had a lot of fun climbing Babel in my undies! Grinding for Gold Prizes was kind of a drag, but, hey, that's trophy-hunting sometimes. Still a fantastic game that I'd recommend to anyone, even if puzzle games aren't your thing.

Mirror's Edge - 100% done

Looking forward for years to play this but now i finally got around to it.  Was fun overall but that chapter 9 speedrun & a handful of time trials (mostly from the dlc) really made me want to chew glass with how overly precise some "interactions" with ledges and pipes and shit are.  I don't know that'd i'd say its an 8-9/10 or whatever, but still not easy.

This game is a short 2D shooter indie that consists of 7 short stages where you make your way through enemies and bosses. All this is played at a pretty high speed therefore there is a slow motion skill that is going to be spammed the entire time (but is is not unlimited). If you try to look for some vids, you may get intimidated by how the character has to be controlled for the best efficiency, but it's not that bad at all.

I found this game pretty enjoyable, also this is the first game that got me some pain to my fingers due to the controls' configuration (constant taps on R2 and L2 and movement/fire with left/right stick), however they are the most optimal to be used and changing them would make things harder.

A decent challenging platinum trophy, you will have to play the story 8 times, once per difficulty (4), then the other 4 through Arcade mode which is a 1cc run without health regeneration, this is where the difficulty comes from, as clearing it on Very Hard means very few damage taken. You can't take it slowly because it is very important to keep your rank as high as you can, since the most powerful weapon is based on your rank, therefore an S rank is crucial to kill the bosses asap, as they are pretty tough to deal with.

 #260 - Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion

 

This was an old PS+ game from several years back that has been collecting dust and thought would make a good candidate for this event. I don’t usually play JRPGs, nor have I played anything quite like this before, so it was actually a nice change of scenery and an opportunity to broaden my horizons and try something new.

 

I’m not even sure what genre this would be but this game is pretty simple at its core. It presents itself like a 2D side scroller, but your characters are on rails as they move left to right from one combat encounter to another. The battles are presented like an old 2D turn based party game would be except instead of taking turns with the AI, all your characters are mapped to different buttons and can all attack at once, as well as block and defend incoming attacks and launching powerful magical attacks as your mana fills up. After each battle you are rewarded with gemstones that offer unique buffs or new spells, and finding good runes with great combinations of buffs and enhancements is key to becoming powerful in this game.
 

The combat was actually really fun, far more than it looks in gameplay videos. But the unique style also means it can get extremely chaotic with the player juggling so many things at once and all the action on screen. My first playthrough definitely featured a LOT of button mashing and praying for the best lol. Subsequent runs went a lot more smoothly as I began to build up a powerful party and learn a more strategic way to deploy abilities in smart combinations to cut down foes and bosses quickly.

 

The story in this game is extremely vague, yet somehow has significant depth at the same time with all the different branching choices and story paths. Without a trophy guide this game could easily take a dozen playthroughs or more because everything is so unclear with what is happening half of the time, and what your choices during the story actually mean. I’m very thankful for a guide as without one, I simply wouldn’t have the patience to finish a game like this. As fun as the combat can be, the gameplay is extremely repetitive and so it starts to wear out its welcome after a few playthroughs.

I wouldn't doubt yourself! Once you've gotten used to driving without certain assists (stability control and traction control among others can slow your car down dramatically), it just becomes a matter of practice and memorization. The hardest part is having the patience to drive the same track dozens of times as you shave time off the clock. ?

Hi all,

 

An update:

 

So, I haven't completed any games yet, and I could have, but to be honest I've been busy. And also, when trying to finish those COD Ghosts DLCs I encountered a massive grind I had forgotten all about, which is what I've been doing.

 

So there's this mode called Extinction, where you fight aliens (that where on Earth before humans) and you go destroying hives with a special drill, protecting said drill, and surviving against the different types of aliens of course, and when you destroy 3 or so hives you unlock the next area. You have to do this a few times before finishing the map, with each map having different areas, enemy types and endings. By destroying hives and completing challenges you can get skill points to upgrade your class' skills, your ammo type, your support item, your strike package or your equalizer, which you use with money earned by killing aliens, destroying hives, etc. There's also 4 different classes so this game mode is meant for cooperative play. I like that. It's not necessary but it's better if you use different classes, to complement each other. So... we have:

 

- The Weapon Specialist. Does more damage, aims, reloads, and swaps weapons faster.

- The Tank. Has double the HP bar of all the other classes, and does double melee damage. (My personal main class. You just gotta love that HP bar. The melee damage is kinda meh but actually has its uses).

- The Engineer. Repairs the drill faster and takes less damage while repairing it, can carry more money, traps give you money back, and explosives and traps do more damage.

- The Medic. Revives allies faster and takes less damage while reviving. moves much faster, sprints for longer, ignores annoying screen blur and continuous damage from scorpion's gas clouds, and allies heal faster. 

 

There's also items and attachments that you have to scavenge for around the map. All in all, it's a pretty fun mode, different from the usual zombies and spec ops modes, which I can appreciate.

 

Now, the grindy part. With an update to the game, they added an armory where you can buy both small and very significant upgrades to aid you in battle, and the currency you use to get them is alien teeth that you obtain from playing (no microtransactions for that, only for skins and voice packs lol).

With each dlc, they started to add more and more powerful upgrades. Before buying the dlcs, only having access to the base game upgrades, I used to think 50 teeth was expensive, HA! There are some incredibly useful and powerful upgrades, ranging from 200 teeth, to one that goes for ONE THOUSAND. To give you an idea, an average game of 50 minutes or so usually gives like 9-12 teeth, maybe 16 if you can complete all challenges, which you can forget about if playing with random people. Oh and that's if you even finish the map.

 

Most of them, though, cost 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 teeth. Good things to have like reviving teammates faster, taking a little less damage, doing a little more damage, starting with a skill point or with more money. Now let's get to the more interesting stuff. For 50 teeth, the one I thought was expensive, you can turn one of the most powerful foes in the game, rhinos, into your allies, by finding and hitting them with a hypnoknife. Let me tell you, without the more expensive upgrades, and even so, this can really take some weight off your shoulder. Then there's the ark attachment, which basically doubles your damage (and shoots blue lasers ?), that you can have for your pistol as the first skill point upgrade, for 125, or find it around the map for every other weapon with Master Scavenger, for 200 teeth. The latter lets you find large mags as well, that increase not only your mags' capacity but your max ammo limit. Hipnoknives' effects last longer and flares last 10 seconds longer too.

 

In the game you can choose regular ammo type, stun ammo, incendiary ammo, explosive ammo or armor piercing ammo. Or you can have all of their effects combined into one if you have 500 teeth ?. It's ridiculous, which combined with an ark attachment makes you absolutely decimate aliens.

 

Now the big one, Double Class. Yes, double class. There are 4 classes and you can be 2 of them at the same time. This is so incredibly powerful! It's game-changing, and it's reflected by its really steep price of 1.000 teeth. Huge grind, but worth it. 

 

Each class also has an active skill that you have to buy for 15 teeth each. The tank's is 10 seconds of invincibility, no less, and the medic's is to create a healing field around you that immediately revives anyone down and heals everyone inside it, including you, at a very high speed, for 10 seconds. You can activate them both at the same time and save yourself from the brink of death and come back with full health. It's so OP it's funny. Oh, and you can reduce the cooldown time from 3 minutes to 1.5 for another 200 teeth. In short, I'm so OP that I'm laughing like a maniac over here. So how do you get all of that?

 

The method to grind teeth semi-afk, as opposed to playing for hundreds of hours, is to complete 3 hives and max out the sentry gun, then go back to the start area, place both of your sentry guns and let them kill. Unfortunately they expire and you have to keep replacing them every 7-10 minutes, and sometimes protecting them from aliens that jump on them to destroy them. I managed to get 518 teeth with this method, which wasn't that bad because I was just doing things on my PC and setting up new sentry guns, but actually was pretty bad because you couldn't leave for 5 minutes without having to set it all up again. It doesn't take long but it's annoying. Also, those took about as long as getting 1700 with the following method...

 

Then the stars aligned, or something, and someone in a COD boosting discord server mentioned that there was an AFK way, and there is! And it's a godsend! I'm not sure if it's been posted here but I will check and post it if not, help you guys out, but with this method it took me about 3 weeks I think to get all that I wanted to get (1700 teeth, 2200 total ?). Sometimes it crashed and signed me out so I lost a little over 500 teeth overall, but still, it's fully AFK so you can just do something else while preparing for this boost. The video in question explaining this is only 3 months old, after all these years, new info for this 2013 game.

 

The best part and one of the reasons why I did this is because you can transfer your profile to the PS4 version, which I wasn't planning to do, just cleaning the dlcs, but the fact that the season pass is crossbuy, that there's some autopopping and having a fully upgraded character right off the bat will definitely give me an easier time stacking the PS4 version. In the midst of this grind I played some games which made me bag some trophies, partially why I'm typing this update too, as opposed to waiting for the 100%.

Finished Worms Battlegrounds just over a week ago. I found it to be such a boring game, I was so happy when I finally got to delete it off my PS4. Some of the campaign missions were very frustrating. The AI worms were so unpredictable at times, either they would damage you from impossible angles or damage themselves when it seemed obvious they could get to me. It did provide some moments where you just had to have a chuckle at their stupidity.

 

In other news I have Vanquish at 91%. I attempted challenge 6 around 4-5 times, reached the final wave on nearly every attempt but kept getting my ass handed to me by the double bogey's. I'm waiting for a weekend where I can just zero in on this challenge - I don't fancy spending my evenings after work getting frustrated by this game.

 

I've also returned to CoD: WWII this week. I got carried through both The Final Reich + The Darkest Shore's Easter Eggs and managed to nab the platinum tonight! Very happy with my progress so far. I still have a lot of zombie trophies to go through though and they will be no walk in the park. I also tried out Bulletstorm, mainly to check if I could connect to my co-op partner in Anarchy mode. Thankfully we had no issues. From what I played I'm expecting it to be a fun game. Time will tell!

FUCKING FINALLY

Apologies, I am so god damn relieved to be done with Star Ocean 3. I hate this damn game so much. I could do a whole college thesis level essay on the poor quality of this game but that's better saved for a different thread. the main points:

-Crashed over 50 times which is horrendous for a grind heavy game

-Difficulty trophies don't stack

-Additionally, 4D is utter horseshit

-Loves to waste the players time at every opportunity

-I was into the story until I realized most of it was located on an under-developed planet so potential sci-fi themes it could use was wasted. I also lost all interest during the big reveal in Arkives.

 

I am never going to play another Star Ocean game again.

Mothergunship - I've apparently already did the hardest trophy in the game. I only have to beat the campaign which I'm close to doing, two grind trophies, and some RNG trophies.

Finished up RED DEAD REDEMPTION 1 ( PS3 )
At first the game didnt sit well with me, I am not really a fan of the wild west ,or should I say I wasnt a fan before this.
It took me 99 hours and 45 minutes ( me sad  ) the game and the whole cowboy setting did grow on me as time went on.
Same as Red Dead 2 it has Red Dead Online, very creatively named Red Dead Online ,same as RDR2s online ,which is also named Red Dead Online. ( Was very fun looking up information for the online part)
Pretty fun playing with other people, clearing hideouts, playing Undead Nightmare both singleplayer and an online survival mode, which is pretty hard to do solo. ( Read Dead Zombie mode with an actual campaign, set after the events of the campaign, as far as I know its not cannon since its a nightmare the main guy is having.)
Having played it on Ps3, I wasnt really enjoying the 20 fps with constant frame drops.
Overall ,it aged better then some games, but you can definitely see its an older game.
6/10 difficulty , 100 total playtime, + one of the dlc trophies requiring 9 other players wasnt fun to organise.

I had gotten the headshots and all other online stuff after around 60 hours of boosting with 7 other people

Now I only have around 40-50 hours of solos. 

Headshots take around 25 hours of match time, but with the servers not being reliable to connect us and people available to boost for 2 hours at a time, made this a year long boost for me unfortunately. 

Load times and waiting in lobbies did take almost 50% of the time. 

Honestly if 8 people from the same timezone were to go for the plat this would be a lot faster. 

Longer sessions equal less time to finish the online stuff, every time we lose someone and we have to switch someone in we have to matchmake again, and connecting together can sometimes take up to 40 minutes, lot easier during the week,tho.

 

Overall, its an amazing game, kinda like Rainbow 6 Siege, but in Vr. 

I honestly don't know what goes on through developers heads when they make trophy lists like this. 

and the fact that game had statistic tracking, but was removed. And trophies were possible to earn in private matches with 1 other person, but again removed, made this whole thing not really fun gameplay wise for trophy hunters. 

4 v 4 no respawning S&D matches only, boost consists of taking turns of doing headshots and seasonal chalenges when available. 

I did meet dozens of new cool people while in party chat for the boost so I had a decent time overall.

Finally i can update a game lol. Well not much need to be said about it , everyone knows about this game. I actually had a hard time with this one. Im pretty bad with shooters.

Tier 1 Update - Skullgirls 2nd Encore (0.85/0.12%)


Did anyone expect a seven-year-old rerelease of a ten-year-old fighter would receive DLC so late in its lifespan? It's certainly not something we see very often, but Skullgirls' dedicated following made it possible. Featuring a new character, a brief story component, and a fairly simple fighting challenge, the hardest part of this new DLC isn't the struggle involved in earning the added trophies, but having the stomach to fork over $10 to access it in the first place. ?

Back in 2020, I spent over 50 hours chasing the platinum trophy in Skullgirls 2nd Encore with the vast majority of that time spent in the game's trial mode. Trial mode was all about performing elaborate combo strings that could often take hours to learn and it still stands as one of the only challenges to ever reduce me to tears out of frustration.  After poking around in my capture list, I found I still had about a dozen old clips of me pushing through some of the tougher trials. If you'd like to see me barely survive Ms. Fortune's infamous 3rd trial and pause-buffer my way through her 4th, I've left some links attached. 

Playing through the new DLC took me back to the stress-free moments of Skullgirls when I didn't have to annihilate my thumbs for the game's pleasure. I got to sit back and button mash for a change. I'm not sure if I'll ever spend the money to buy the three additional DLC packs that are expected to release in the future, but it was nice to revisit this game one last time to patch things up. 



I'm also going to be making two swaps! I'm swapping out Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and Kickbeat for Bleed and Neon Drive.
