Update: At first I will swap Jet Set Radio with Red Faction Guerrilla Re-mars-tered because my ps3 controller have a little stick drift and I can't do the graffities :/ 

and it's done. After 80 hours my 350th platinum milestone is finally here and it's Trackmania Turbo.
What a game man.. I heard crazy stuff about this game before I started but the learning curve is crazy on this one. You are getting better and better with every track but I don't know If I'm alone with this but for me the RED tracks were harder than the BLACK tracks.

The hardest tracks which are on my mind are 125, 130, 178, 180 and maybe a few more. 190 was ass too and btw... fuck multilaps and beach tracks and thanks to @Dzware for abusing his ghost ? and sharing my pain and journey here and there and oh... the finish line on track 200 STILL SUCKS.

Been waiting for ages to get Hitman 2 started, then realised it qualifies as it has a UR trophy for completing "The Yardbird" challenges

 

I loved the first game (which is lucky as this list makes you redo the Legacy maps again anyways), and already loving this one

Finished my 3rd UR title of the year with Puyo Puyo Champions. Definitely a game that is UR because no one wants to actually go through the trouble of modifying the in-game settings to get the trophies easily, there's no real difficulty or time consuming trophies in the list. Minimum chains set to 2 puyos takes care of all clears and 100,000 puyos, while increasing the garbage rate can make counterattack wins easier. It wasn't on the list I last posted, so I just swapped it in for Tears to Tiara II as it's already December now and I don't have time to do the two playthroughs that game requires. Probably will try it again in next year's topic.

Finished TIER 1 with Zombie Vikings. Yeah, I can’t really recommend this game. In fact it was pretty shit. ?

 

So my TIER 2 are all the games in my backlog that I still need to finish/start. Except for SMBF which I still need to buy. I also don’t expect to finish any of these games anymore before the end of the year so these games will probably all be for next year. And what’s a UR Clean Up event for me without DMC 5 in it. ?
 

But who knows? I don’t plan games I’m going to play.

Final update from my side for this year.. Finished Tier 1 by swapping Bleed with Slime-san (popped the plat 2 minutes ago).

What can I say... I was hoping for a good platformer, but the game didn't deliver. Not only does the level design leave a lot to be desired, but there is also a glitch present in the console version of the game (except Switch it seems) that will send you flying whenever you change surfaces / hit a corner and, even more annoyingly, sends you bouncing downwards whenver you hit the ceiling. 

 

That bug made the game unbearable at times. Going for some of the collectibles was really frustrating not because of their placement, but because you really needed to avoid the intended path sometimes just in order to not be sent to your death by a bounce. 

 

Without the glitch, the game would be a mediocre, grindy and uninspired platformer. With the glitch, it's all of that but also very frustrating at times. Garbage. Avoid this game, it's not worth it.

Looking back at my list, I really am quite happy with what I achieved this year. I didn't have a lot of time available, but still managed to finish some long games, as well as some that are generally considered tough. Most of the games on my Tier 1 were also pretty decent, with Slay the Spire and Eldest Souls being the two that I enjoyed my time with the most. 

 

I will now stick with Victor Vran until I'm done with the game before starting anything new, my other three teammates already finished the game but I still have quite a way to go ? I hope to be done by the end of the year, but even if I am, I won't have time to finish anything else except another short game or so, so defining a Tier 2 is definitely not worth it for me.

Last two games done to wrap up Tier 4!

Escape Plan was a fun little puzzle game. There's some challenge modes you gotta beat in both base game and DLC that involve finishing levels fast, dying a max amount of times in a whole playtrough and limiting amount of inputs. Might sound a little tricky, but the game isn't very hard, and you can just follow a video guide for it (puzzle game after all), so all in all it's not really worth its URs.

 

Quantum Theory wasn't quite as bas as I expected it to be, even though it is very clunky. The most annoying part by far was the 40+ hours of monotonous boosting, but spreading that out over 2 months made it a bit more bearable. Story mode has its charm, kinda typical of that era of PS3 games, with a bad ass protagonist and some cheesy cutscenes. Hard mode was pretty simple with the exploit, and the time trials took a few tries for some bosses, but nothing too hard there either.

 

Tier 4

So now onto Tier 5. 

I was hoping to have some decent co-op fun in Zombie Vikings, but the game turned out to be very dull, repetitive and full of bugs. I even lost all my progress once when switching from co-op to some solo play, so yea.. even though it's a very easy 15 hours UR plat, I still wouldn't recommend it.

 

Not gonna make a full Tier 5, as there's only one month left, so just gonna list the games that I'm still deciding on finishing this year. Hopefully I can get about 3 more done.

I've not really been very active on the site for the past few months, my activity has only really been picking back up recently and in all honesty I haven't really been doing a lot of ultra rares this year so I didn't really feel like I had anything interesting to post. Objectively this is probably the hardest game that I completed this year. It has taken me 7 years. I’m the slowest person (on either version) of the leaderboard, yiieewww!! ??

 

I love this game. It's a big deal for me to finally complete it. I've waxed lyrical about it on my checklist. I try not to promote that thread too often but if you’re interested in N++ and want to know more or if you have played the game and want to read about someone’s thoughts on it, feel welcome to join me over there. It’s too long overburden this thread.

Without getting too soppy and gushing, I wanted to say a thank you to everyone here. I apologise for saying what I'm about to say so early in December... there’s an elephant in the thread and his name is “Theendoftheyearisnearlyhere” so I know that there’s going to be a few people anxiously smashing out their last few games. 

 

I’ve been on the forum for years but I’ve always looked up to the participants in this thread. I only had 10 URs before 2022 and I made a pledge to myself that I’d step forward to challenge myself to get involved this year ... Imagine my surprise when Copa announced that a single tier would require 10 games! ?? I nearly died. 

 

The (positive) pressure of this event helped me to tackle some brilliant and brilliantly difficult games.

 

I am proud of all of the games that I put forward and completed, and even though they pale in comparison to some of the achievements that many of you have put up, I feel confident that I have earnt the right to “hang.” This thread is a lot less elitist than I expected. Thanks for making this a very enjoyable and memorable experience.  

 

Before signing off for a while (I'll stick around for the rest of the year to keep dropping Dat RepTM), I’ll post a quick visual summary of my games this year in case any of you are on the lookout for more ideas for next year. Feel free to plagiarise this idea for yourselves and post something similar... I love making and looking at nerdy shit like this:

Likely where im at now with my Tier 2 list is where i stay, as most of what im playing are long ass completions

 

Im down to go again next year though, setting my aim on Tier 3

Honestly, when Copa, Mori and myself started this event two years ago, what you describe you found is exactly what we were hoping we would get... A thread with people encouraging others and sharing their experiences. If during the first year the thread would have turned elititst, the event would have died there... But... It didn't. We've had so many messages from people giving feedback on how motivating the event had been, how supportive, how positive the atmosphere is. 

 

So also thanks to you for giving us that positive feedback I've been mostly absent from the forums this year so all credit to Copa for organizing and moderating, and you'll be happy to hear that the event will have 5-game tiers next year as well, so welcome to join again!

Superbeat Xonic

Enjoyment - 3.5/5

Difficulty - 4.5/5

 

This is one of the more difficult rhythm games i've done, overall a really difficult platinum to earn so i'm really excited to have this done finally. This essentially plays similarly to the Persona dancing games but it's a lot more technical and a lot more difficult to read. What makes this so difficult is mission mode, while not as hard as DJMAX's missions it proves to be a really tough challenge in their own right. I got stuck on them for the longest time and only recently had the motivation to go back and grind them out. Really happy to have this done.

 

With that done i'll be grinding non stop for DJMAX 100% now

ok that was really tough. So that’s my opinion: it’s not a simple task to finish mein leben of course but the main difficulty of the game is the length. After all that practice I wasn’t slow and still a complete run last like 3/3:30 hours… it’s really TOO MUCH. simply is very hard to keep concentration to max level all that time. Oh well, it’s done  great game btw. At least was very fun

After grinding for hours on the end for the past 2 days. It's done.

 

 

 

This was absurdly difficult to complete, harder than Crypt of the Necrodancer even, but I loved every second of it. I absolutely adore this game, it has everything that I look for in a rhythm game. A non-existent skill ceiling, fun and engaging charts, catchy tunes, infinite replay-ability, it has everything and I don't see myself putting it down anytime soon.

Congrats Slim! I hope to get there some day, I have a personal goal to eventually beat all 200+ missions. Everything you described the game as is 100%, I'm 250+ hours in a felt I've barely scratched the surface. There's so much to do and yet nothing feels like a grind.
