Popular Post Hurricane_Tanya
Just one more for me today. For ‘That “Everybody” has played but you’ I went for Red Dead Redemption. The game has just under a million owners on psn profiles so I think it counts. I have actually played this before, I bought it for Xbox 360 when it first came out, loaded it up, watched the first cut scene where John walks up to the gang fort and gets shot, saved and turned it off, meaning to properly play it later. I never got back to it. Fast forward to 2018 when I picked up Red Dead Redemption 2 and absolutely fell head over heels in love with the game. After finishing the story, I thought that I should give the original a go, bought myself a ps now subscription…and then proceeded to play a ton of other games instead. I’ve heard that people love this first game, and I can see why. The story is interesting, the gameplay is fun, and there’s plenty of stuff to do when you’re not wanting to do the main mission. However, I left the game wanting to play the 2nd one again. I get that John is very loved, but I think I was spoiled by playing Arthur first. I know that people tend to think of the 2nd game as too slow, too much of a cinematic experience, not as much of a game, but I just prefer it, sorry. (I think it’s the fishing…RDR1 needs fishing) Edited June 17, 2022 by Hurricane_Tanya

Popular Post Flitterbloom
Hi, I'm back for some progress report ! I finally saw the ending of Puppeteer, took time but I've been playing this one in co-op so we had to synchronize our agendas ? ; anyway, it checked my "Frightening/Horror" box, yay ! Still gotta go for the platinum but at least I've finished the story. I got my hands on Zorro the Chronicles, fun little game (until the finale boss one-shotted me 4 times in a row for no reason, but hey, I won eventually !), perfect to check the "Based on a Non-Gaming IP" ! Then we have Black Mirror, nice story even though pretty predictable (ok, I'll admit, there's ONE thing I didn't see coming...). Had to grab something to read during the loading times and that was actually the most frustrating part for me. Checked the "Adventure" box with this one. I also finished my first play through of Ico ! Obviously "Award-Winning", right ? Still need a run for the speedrun trophy. I guess some parts will be frustrating. I enjoyed the game, but must admit I'm not really comfortable with its camera sometimes... Finally, yesterday I played Last Day of June. To be honest, I didn't see which box I would check with it and since I've been wanting to play it for a very long time, it was no big deal if I could not put it in the Bingo. I liked it very much. I knew what the story was about. But I didn't know the game was gonna punch so hard on my feelings. "That Gives You the Feels" was the only option ! Seems like I do my best to not get any line on my bingo card ?... maybe next time. I already have my ideas on which games I'm gonna play to check the other boxes so it's only a matter of time !

Popular Post Xylobe
Update time! This is the first for my second card. I ended up plowing through a lot of shorter games this month and taking the jigsaw puzzle approach of starting with the edges, neither of which were planned. Just for fun I might try to finish the border before doing any interior squares, but we'll see. Oldest in Your Backlog - Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time - 6/12/2022 Spoiler There are a few ways to interpret this category, and I wasn't sure which of them was intended. I could have gone with "literal oldest game by release date" or "game I bought the longest ago but never started," but in the end I decided to go with the game furthest down on my trophy list that I hadn't finished but still intended to go back to. Sly 4 was almost at the very bottom, only above a small handful of games like Retro City Rampage and Catherine that I know I'll never touch again. I had dropped this game not long after it came out in 2013 due to some annoying minigame trophies, and while I didn't struggle with them in 2022, they definitely still tested my patience-- a staple for the Sly series. In fact, "more Sly Cooper" is pretty much how I'd describe the game in general. The only real thing of note is that the game has not aged well with regards to its female characters; there are only 3 of them across the game's 6 time periods, and they're all more or less singularly defined by their relationship with one of the more important male characters. I mean, Carmelita joins the gang as a playable character in world 3, and for the entire half of the game in which she's available she's only used twice: once for a boss battle in world 4, and once for a rhythm minigame in world 5 (after our plucky young heroes have pressured her into a skimpy belly dancer's outfit against her wishes, in a scene that would feel more at home in Revenge of the Nerds). Just all-around gross, creepy, and unnecessary, and it really soured the rest of the experience. On the other hand, the plat auto-pops between the Vita and PS3 versions, so I guess it all evens out. Redeemed from PS Plus - The Artful Escape - 6/13/2022 Spoiler I had meant to pick this one up at launch, but it fell through the cracks and I forgot about it until it was announced as one of the games that would be included in the new PS+ Premium... or Extra? Essential? I can't keep up with these names. I'm not entirely sure how to describe this one. Maybe a walking simulator disguised as a 2D platformer (about as convincingly as a pair of Groucho Marx glasses), with a story and message about the importance of self-expression in music (broadly comparable to, if not as effective as, the way Chicory handled painting). Ironically, much more so than the music, the visuals - specifically the environments - are the most striking thing about this game. Watch the trailer for a taste, and if you sprung for PS+ Whichever, definitely give it a try-- you can easily finish it in an evening. Originally Released in 2022 - Nobody Saves the World - 6/18/2022 Spoiler I'm taking "originally" to mean on whichever platform it first released, not just "released on PlayStation in 2022," which ruled out quite a few games I considered like The Artful Escape or Unpacking. Luckily, Nobody Saves the World first released on PC and Xbox in January. I loved Guacamelee!, so I was excited to see a new Drinkbox game with such a strong reception (92% positive user reviews on Steam is no easy feat, considering how fickle Gamers can be). Unfortunately this one was a huge miss for me, and ended up feeling like, for lack of a better term, such a nothing game. The core gameplay loop of "kill a bunch of enemies with a handful of abilities" really didn't appeal to me, and unlocking new forms was unsatisfying due to being so heavily gated by story progress (not to mention that "15+ distinct forms" is a lot fewer than it sounds). I really liked how the minor antagonist/rival character Randy was handled, but beyond that I didn't walk away from this one feeling much of anything. Maybe it's just one of those games that relies on co-op to be fun. Last Game You Acquired - F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch - 6/21/2022 Spoiler And the award for "Worst Video Game Name" goes to...! Seriously, I got the plat and I can't decipher it beyond "someone who doesn't speak English creates a backronym." Again, there was some room for interpretation when it came to this category, as it's something of a moving target: I went with the last physical game I got before generating the card. Looking past the name, there were aspects that I wasn't a fan of (mostly to do with presentation and combat), but by and large it's a very solid metroidvania with plenty of well-hidden secrets to discover. The biggest gripe I had by far was with what felt like constant dropped inputs; they didn't matter much for most of the game, since platforming was straightforward and combat had reliable combos to spam, but a few collectibles require you to complete lengthy and specific combo challenges, which made me want to tear my hare out (I held out for as long as I could). With Gorgeous Vistas - Kena: Bridge of Spirits - 6/22/2022 Spoiler Released in Your Birth Month (September) - CrossCode - 6/25/2022 Spoiler Just like the "Originally Released in 2022" category, I based this one off of the original release date, not the PlayStation one-- in this case, September 2018 on PC. I didn't realize before going into it that CrossCode was one of those "game within a game" kind of stories, like so many trash heap anime about MMOs, so my high expectations hit rock bottom quickly. Thankfully, this isn't Sword Art Online, so it didn't take long for expectations to climb back up to an appropriate level. Long story short, it's a loosely Zelda-inspired, loosely SNES-styled action RPG full of fun characters and the ever-rare "silent protagonist as an interesting plot device." The story wasn't my favorite, but I did enjoy that it wasn't always necessarily clear which parts were the game's story versus which parts were the in-game game's story. My biggest point of criticism with this game is definitely the supremely lazy trophy list. Every trophy is story-related, and every trophy icon is a random unrelated screenshot, except the platinum using the same poorly-cropped key art as the game icon. At the best of times that would be a petty complaint, but what makes it frustrating is that the game actually has a great trophy list... in-game. It's extremely similar to the title system in Tales of Xillia, with 167 in-game trophies earned for completing all sorts of objectives, and even awarding points that can be used to unlock modifiers in NG+ (again, just like the title and grade shop system in ToX). And yes, they do all have their own unique icons, but none of them are used for the PSN trophy list. It could easily have had a meaty 60-trophy list to encourage players to see and do everything, but instead it's just "beat the game, here's your plat," and it's honestly a letdown. A minor and petty one, but still. Featuring a Romance or Romance Options - Haven - 6/27/2022 Spoiler Amid a sea of horndog harem visual novels, Haven legitimizes romance as a video game genre. Combine the art and music of Furi with the movement of Journey, some very light RPG and life sim mechanics, and the immaculate vibes of Transistor's best scenes, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Absolutely one of the best games I've played so far this year. One thing to note (with I hope zero spoilers) is that the game was updated earlier this year to include same-sex couple options, adding a tremendous amount of new VA and art assets. In my experience, playing with the lesbian couple changed the tone of one story beat pretty significantly compared to how it would have been with the default straight or gay male couples. In my opinion it was an improvement, but I could easily see it going either way, so it's something to consider even if you might not otherwise put much thought into choosing which version of the couple to play as. I also can't stress enough how GOOD this game sounds. I'd strongly recommend first hearing the soundtrack in-game (and you should play this game), but if you need convincing, some standout tracks include "08:16 Home," "11:18 Move It Muffin!," and "00:21 Nothing But Rust." Spawned an Expanded Universe - Arcade Game Series: Pac-Man - 6/30/2022 Spoiler It's Pac-Man. He sure does... gobble those dots... Listen, I know I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel, but "Expanded Universe" is a difficult category. The yellow pizza has gotten two whole cartoons: one during his heyday in the early 80s, and also Released the Year You Joined PSNP (2013) - Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures - 6/30/2022 Spoiler Why, in the year of our lord two thousand and thirteen, did Bandai Namco decide that the world needed a cartoon exploring Pac-Man's high school days? We may never know. I have never in my life seen so much as a clip from this show, but a few years back I was on a "weird easy PS3 games" bender and picked this one up. Pac-Man eats dots in mazes, and this cartoon is based on that game, so this game based on that cartoon is, naturally, a bad 3D platformer. I'm trying desperately to say nice things, but the camera and controls are only mostly functional, the pac-people(?) look like nuclear Q*bert, and there are minigames. I actually do really like the redesigns of the 4 main ghosts, but aside from that... it's a bad tie-in game for an already-forgotten children's cartoon. What are you expecting?
Popular Post stuthesheep
Currently stuck in challenges hell, but the (slightly anticlimactic) story is in the books so G2 can now be marked off with Just Cause 3. Enjoyed it for the most part, trying not to let the need for perfection on some of the ridiculously tough challenges needed for the plat distract me from that. Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
On 6/7/2022 at 10:15 PM, Beyondthegrave07 said: May Update: Another great month for me. I was able to finish 3 more games through May since my last update. I put The Adventure Pals under Side-Scrolling since it's a side scrolling platformer. It was a cute little game. A little repetitive, but I had fun with it. I also put down DMC for "You can use a sword" since Dante uses a sword of course. This was a blast and fulfilling plat to go back and get ater several years. Lastly I bought Trigger Witch, KoF, and The Adventure Pals all at once so it goes under "Last game acquired." for those who haven't played Trigger Witch and have no plan on doing it, just watch the final battle on Youtube, lol. It may convince you otherwise. Lmao. NEXT: Looks like I can take a bingo whenever I want, but I don't want to just use it for anything. I plan to get to plat 150 this year and that would require at least 7 more plats. I'm still working on King of Fighters collection, and I'm not sure if I want to do Xblaze on PS3 next or do something like Kingdom Hearts or Heavy Rain... PS4, I want to start something new as well, but I'm not sure if I should go God of War or Spiderman Miles Morales. For now, I guess I'll just stay undecided and work on Monster Hunter World and KoF collection while I waffle it over. I have a few days of PTO coming up so I can always just decide then. Hoping to at least get one game done in June, but maybe I'll surprise myself and get more done. We'll see. June Update: Well, i didn't surprise myself. I got a single game completed with Va11 hall-A. it's a cool cyberpunk bartending game where you follow the stories of your customers, learn the lore of the world, while your character goes through her own struggles. I really enjoyed the characters ranging from a robot prostitute to a pro hacker to a talking dog in a Hawaiian shirt and glasses. I think my favorite part of the game was celebrating Megachristmas with everyone and playing truth or dare. The dog kept daring me to pet him and call him a good boy while the other bartender got piledrived and had to eat spicy food! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a chill game with a good soundtrack. With that being said... BINGO! Decided to just use it as my Player's choice as it did not really fit any other category. I guess it has Romance in it, but I feel like I would be fitting a circle peg into a square hole doing so. It's fine, because I planned on using Detroit for that anyways and just bought Va11 Hall-A since it was on sale and played it during my PTO. Here's where I stand now: I2 - The Adventure Pals N1 - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax N2 - Dead Nation (PS3) N3 - Va11 Hall-A (New) N4 - The Last of Us 2 N5 - DMC Devil May Cry G3 - Trigger Witch O1 - Hades O3 - Mugen Souls Z O2 - Guilty Gear Strive Up Next: I'm playing through Detroit: Become Human, and I am towards the end of my second playthrough to finish off a majority of the trophies so I should easily finish it in the next month (ideally, next weekend). My plan is to start Spiderman: Mile Morales while I chip away at KoF. My goal for the year is to get to plat #150 (currently at 144) so ideally, I get two games done this month, 1 in August, and 2 in September so I have an entire quarter (3 months) to finish pretty much any game of my choosing, within reason, for #150 (which I'm leaning towards Disgaea 4 Complete and that will probably take the full 3 months... maybe longer *gulp*). TBD if any of this actually happens but will give you an update in a month or so Edited July 5, 2022 by Beyondthegrave07

Popular Post Flitterbloom
Hi there, it's not been long since my last update but I finally manage to complete my first bingo line! I completed Foreclosed as an obvious "Starts with the First Letter of Your PSNID". Not usually a fan of TPS games because I can't aim properly (I'm just too bad ?) but I really liked its "comicbook look" and thought I'd give it go. I really enjoyed it! Then, I went for I Am Dead to check my "Arcade, Rhythm or Puzzle" box. I usually enjoy this type of games, I was not disappointed but didn't really liked it either. Finally, my first line is completed thanks to Catherine: Full Body which check "With Player Choices or Multiple Endings". Going for this platinum now!
Popular Post MAUSZX
Small update, because I have said before, I need to lock down some game if not I don't know what to try or focus. Meaning to get to: Everybody's Golf. This category was the easiest one since is basically whatever game I had in my backlog, and since the game is closing servers soon, well I was meaning to get to as fast as possible. I did it I got the platinum. This is a very Arcadie Golf Simulator and most trophies challenge you to basically try everything. Good game, super entertaining. With Crafitng Mechanics: Farcry 3 Classic edition. Well I had like 4 different games on my list as a crafting mechanic game to be honest, one day I googled Ps4 games with crafting mechanics, this game popped up and I was already starting it, and I realized, Oh yeah, you need to kill animals and gather plants to get medicine, boosters and improved my accesories, so yeah, is not a super in depth crafting mechanic, but it is one. Historical Fiction: Farcry Primal. Wait is this guy only playing Farcry games or what? Well... I played 3, I am in another event and one of the challenges is to do 3 games of the same series, so here we go. Farcry Primal is like every other Farcry, but in this one I think is the first one where you can tame animals (I saw a trailer that in Farcry5 you have a dog and bear companion, I don't know if you tame them or you get them like in Fallout games). Anyway this game is historical in the sense that you are basically a human in the primal era, cool and sad to see Mammoths, I wish this game had even more extincts species. Popular Post stuthesheep
After sinking a massive number of hours into Just Cause 3 over the past few weeks I fancied doing something a bit shorter and not quite as challenging for my next check-off. However I have a plan of what to take on for most of these boxes to overlap with other challenges/events and none of those really fit the "quick and easy" category. About the only box I didn't have a fixed plan for was "Customisable Hats" so I spent a while fruitlessly searching for something in my hefty backlog that would fit that. After some serious overthinking I eventually had a lightbulb moment and remembered there was a game I spent a hefty part of the first lockdown in 2020 playing with my teenage son over mobile (he lives about 25 miles away so I didn't see him for about 4 months, which gave me a lot more gaming time than usual!) that recently had a PS4 release so a quick trip to the store later has now unlocked N4 with Among Us. It's always good to remember just how stupid and gullible other people can be after all. Relatively straightforward platinum though, cross-play with my mobile helped on a couple of trophies but most of them unlocked naturally for me, which is as it should be. The most stressful part was not getting to be the Impostor anywhere near as much as I wanted when chasing those ones - although not enough to actively become a Leaver (those people are the scum of the earth). Fun couple of days though, now it's time to look at something a bit more substantial next. Popular Post stuthesheep
Next turned out to be maybe not substantial in a 100 hour epic timesink sense of the word, but an enjoyable and reasonably challenging experience nonetheless. Fairly glad my parents didn't name me something along the lines of Zander, Xavier or Quincy - although being named after a 70s TV pathologist or (wibbly wobbly timey wimey nonsense permitting) a 90s Hero Of Barcelona would have admittedly been pretty cool - fortunately S was always going to be relatively straightforward to find something suitable for with 34 pages of results. N5 is thus marked off with Salt and Sanctuary. Popular Post MICSAM89
“With Online Features” Deathloop Deathloop has as online feature that allows other players can drop into your game and assassinate you or you can jump into other people games. It was a pretty good game with a great concept, but definitely not the 10/10 masterpiece most media outlets reviewed it. It’s just disappointing that there is only one order to assassinate all the targets in one loop if there were multiple solutions then it would have been a 10/10 masterpiece for me. “Mystery or Detective Themes” Batman Arkham Asylum Batman the world’s greatest detective as stated 8000 time throughout Arkham Asylum. Like other PS3 games ported to PS4 still has the wonky controls, but other than that it was a great game and I can see why there’s so much love for this game, but Arkham Knight is probably still my favourite of the franchise.

Popular Post Briste
It's been a minute since my last update. In that time I've finished five games that I was able to add to my card. I was also able to get my first BINGO across the top line. If I can figure out what my favorite genre is, I might have a second BINGO for my next update! The first of those games slides into B4 with Figment. This game would have also qualified for the 'Underplayed' category, but I could use a sword and I had a different game I played that I would have had a harder time placing so I put it there. The game was a short, fun puzzle game that takes place in the human mind. The puzzles weren't terribly hard but were fun to figure out. The music was the star though in this game. Each of the bosses sings a unique song at you and most of the zones had well placed music as well. I would recommend picking this game up if you like puzzle games and/or supporting smaller titles. Be forewarned though that the most of the trophies didn't pop when they were supposed to. Most popped early, but one I needed to trigger a couple of times before it popped. The next two games I'll describe together since they were basically part 1 and part 2. Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice slide into N1 and O5 respectively. The games were developed by the German company called CrazyBunch and both games have fewer than 1000 game owners so are interchangeable in the two categories they landed. I found Part 1 to be better than Part 2. Part 1 seemed to stay more true to the lovable loser that Larry has been for almost 40 years while Part 2 turned him into more of a stud, which made it not quite as funny. I got the two games on sale last month for $11 so the price was right and I had fun enough with them. Not something I recommend unless you have a juvenile sense of humor or looking for some nostalgia from long ago. The next game was Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. This game was 'free' last month on PS+ and was something that caught my 8 year old's eye so we ended up playing together. It's a knock off version of Super Smash Brothers and is largely mediocre, but I'm having fun playing it past the platinum with my son so if you have someone to play with, it might have some staying power for you. The trophy list was fairly easy and fairly quick to do as well. The final entry on this BINGO update is DOOM Eternal. According to the GOOGLE machine, this game won a couple of awards at the 2019 Game Critics Awards. The MP trophies were not very fun to get, but with a couple friends isn't hard to do either. The game itself is pretty fun however. The pace is frenetic and the maps are surprisingly large. There was more platforming and puzzle solving than I was anticipating, but I enjoyed my time quite a bit once I got through the MP (I'm glad I did it first). The DLC's were harder than the main game and were also quite a bit of fun. If you like FPS games at a frenetic pace and can find this game on sale, I'd recommend picking it up.
Popular Post stuthesheep
Latest one in the books is B2 and Farming Simulator 19. A fairly tranquil and relaxing experience of country life (I imagine) with the only violence coming from my armchair as I managed to frequently get stuck in fences when trying to drive a tractor. I now realise why farmers always drive so slowly, I always thought it was just to be irritating. Didn't even have the opportunity to slaughter any of the animals I bred, which was a lowkey disappointment. Spoiler B1 (Reboot) Ratchet & Clank 21/4 I1 (No Jump Button) Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice 26/1 N1 (Weeb) Shenmue 28/3 G1 (Antihero) God of War III 8/3 O1 (Punctuation) Mass Effect: Andromeda 1/3 B2 (Non-Violent) Farming Simulator 19 20/7 I2 (SciFi/Fantasy) Rime 1/2 N2 (No Humans) Spy Chameleon 24/3 G2 (Adventure) Just Cause 3 3/7 B3 (Non-Gaming IP) The Walking Dead: Definitive Edition 23/5 I3 (DLC) Rise of the Tomb Raider: Endurance 7/2 G3 (Retro) Shenmue II 9/6 O3 (Crafting) Assassin's Creed: Origins 12/1 B4 (Free) Kitten Squad 20/1 I4 (Cooperative) Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime 10/5 N4 (Hats) Among Us 9/7 I5 (Non-Human Sidekick) 2064: Read-Only Memories 27/4 N5 (Same Initial) Salt and Sanctuary 14/7 G5 (Underplayed) The Forgotten City 3/1 (109 players at time of completion)
Popular Post Hurricane_Tanya
Three more games for me this update. First up in I3 is Hatoful Boyfriend for ‘Features Romance’, this game is just a fun, silly virtual novel about dating pigeons. It’s obviously poking fun at the genre, but in a good way. The story lines for each bird are interesting and there’s a subplot involving opposing political parties and human relations that I enjoyed seeing glimpses of. My favourite literal glimpse is when an image of a blown up building flashes by in a running segment. There’s also an extra ending involving a murder mystery and a school lockdown that is unlocked by finishing a few of the endings. I made sure to complete the game, you can get through a storyline in about 10 minutes if you skip everything and it felt cheap just doing that for this event. I4 is Valiant Hearts: The Great War for ‘Historical’. The visuals and fun puzzles made playing this game a joy. The collectibles were little pieces of equipment in each stage that would teach you more about life in the First World War, which was very interesting, and sad. I found the characters endearing and I enjoyed reading the optional diary segments to get to know them better. I also found the ending to be very emotional. I was going to write more about the ending, but I don’t want to spoil it, instead I’ll say that the game is about 4 hours long if you don’t follow a guide for everything, and it’s included in plus extra. If you’re struggling for a historical game, maybe check it out. Last game is Islanders for G1, Simulation, Management and Strategy. I initially got this game thinking it was a cute island themed city simulator type game, which it is not. I wasn’t too disappointed though as it turned out to be a puzzle game where you need to earn a certain amount of points by placing buildings. You get 6 ‘buildings’ at a time (some are fields, or parks, etc), each building has other buildings it likes to be near that will give it a point multiplier, as well as buildings that it doesn’t like which can cause your score to drop dramatically. The trophies are fun to get as they require a bit of thought and figuring out different strategies for earning them. Overall I had a fun time with this game, I just wish it had been longer. You can complete everything in an afternoon, perhaps some more challenging trophies would have been good. I’m almost finished with this bingo board, I think I’ll start another once it’s all filled in though
Popular Post papert0wng1rl
I didn't do an update for June, but here's what I added in July. El Hijo: A Wild West Tale - for a game with isometric view. A very enjoyable puzzler with a couple of difficulty spikes. I made it more difficult by going for completing levels without getting caught straight from the beginning, but it made my clean-up very brief. That mining cart escape level, though! Oof. One trophy for distracting 50 enemies glitched out on me, but starting a new game immediately popped it without further issues. Cuphead - for side-scrolling or bullet hell. I finally got my platinum in this game. Super happy to have it on my profile, as everything about it is perfect. Assassin's Creed Odyssey - for Overplayed (100,000+ owners). I've heard of how long this game might feel, but I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. I picked Kassandra as my main character, and she is now one of my favorite characters ever. For Ubisoft, she has a fantastic personality and voice acting.
