Finished my first Hyper Light Drifter playthrough to tick off the final box!

 

This event has been great for helping break the option paralysis I was suffering every time I finished a game. Actually got some games off my backlog! Will probably see you all next year ?

The final month is nearly upon us and I only need two more games to achieve the full BINGO blackout. Since my last update, I’ve completed games with sci-fi or fantasy themes (Disney Dreamlight Valley), overplayed by over 100,000 players (God of War), and an experience that elicited Hype! (What Remains of Edith Finch). The latter may be a bit unconventional for that category, but Edith Finch is likely my favorite walking sim, and being surprised with a PS5 plat definitely made me hype to dive back into one of the most emotionally devastating stories in any medium.

inFamous is a PS exclusive franchise made by Sucker Punch, the first game is only available for the PS3.

I am open to suggestions for squares. Are there ones you hated? Something in there you wish there was? Let me know! Well, from the ones I did this year, that were good, and one word, I can easily recommend Inscryption, Tunic and Griftlands, (some of the best games I've played in a while!).

 

 Or, for some shorter, but still really interesting ones, I'd say Islanders, Backbone, Rollerdrome, Stray or Unpacking - plus, if you're into some Arcade-esque awesomeness, the recently released Deluxe Remastered version of Shatter is still technically just called "Shatter" on this site, so that could work too - and that one is so compulsive, you'd not only finish the main campaign in an evening - but you might end up platting it is just a few days!

Ah. December. That time of year where 25 daily rep points just doesn't cut the mustard...

 

I'd love to go again next year.

 

Peripheral-based and something that I'd started but not finished were hangups for me.

 

Customisable hats and has snacks that heal you were also difficult - but still within the spirit of the event I think: try something new.

 

If anything, I'd recommend changing Player Choice to being Recommended by Another PSNP user to promote community spirit.

This was a damn fine year for indies on my end, for sure! Playing Ragnarok recently made me realise how few of the bigger games I played this year - it may have been a slightly weaker year for the "AAA" scene, but man, the indie scene was ON FIRE the last 12 months!

In I3 I had Non-Violent, so I went with Life is Strange: True Colors! Going down to I4, my category was Released the Year You Joined PSNP, which was 2015. I wasn't looking for one that fit this category when I started Mortal Kombat X up, but here we are! And finally, I5 was With Online Features. I got the plat for Guilty Gear Strive last night, so that works perfectly with this category!

Took me some time but I finally did it.

 

CULT FAVOURITE: ONRUSH. The game recently close server and honestly is sad that this game did not get enough attention, I personally blame marketing, since everyone was with the idea that this game was yet another racing game and it really wasn't.  This game fits as a CULT favourite because it does have it's small fanbase that really loves this game but for some reason the game did not get the attention it deserved. RELEASE YOUR INNER WEEB. TALES OF ARISE. Another Tales game, JRPG, combat is not turn base, and you can use any of your team to fight, they added some coop attacks and the specials that I don't remember were there in Tales of Xilia. As most Tales games has a very good story with some metaphors that you can relate to in real life, Highly recommended for those RPG fans and Anime fans too. CUSTOMIZABLE HATS. A HAT IN TIME.  Old school platformer style, Imagine Mario 64 or Banjo games, this is this but in a smaller size and less collectibles, really suggest people go and try this. And yeah you get different hats with different abilities and you can add some patches that will change, improve or add more abilities.

 

FAVOURITE GENRE. DEUS EX MANKIND DIVIDED.  This is the only game that I didn't get all the trophies, I did get all the multiplayer BREACH trophies and finished the story "But isn't that your favourite genre, why didn't you get the platinum?" Well I have many different Favourite Genres, but one that people usually ignore is the IMMERSIVE SIM genre, which is usually a combo of stealth, RPG and action, for the most part you can finish the games in different ways and different approaches, and because of that the trophy list usually has to be done on multiple playthroughs, so for instance I finished this first run without killing anyone and without raising a single alarm. I loved this game I don't know why I waited so long to play this game maybe because I get so hooked I tend to spend a lot of time and even sleeping very late because "just this mission and I go to sleep".

 

I enjoyed this event made me play some games that I owned for a long time and that didn't get myself to play them, any of the games are recommended.

Back in the olden days I didn’t have a PC capable of running this PC Melting Behemoth, but no the remaster makes it a lot easier.  You can still see why it was such behemoth to run with all the vegetation, water and weird robot alien mountain textures.

I finally earned my Full Bingo Blackout with the last two games played this year: inFamous: Second Son (with player choices/ multiple endings) and Stray (“everyone” but me has played). The latter was one of the best games I played all year, and I’m excited to jump back in to start the speedrun. Overall, I’m really proud of my Bingo board, with a mix of backlog games and new releases. My favorites: Bloodborne, God of War, Cozy Grove, Returnal, and RAD. Thanks for hosting @Squirlruler and forcing me to face the decision paralysis that plagues me when picking new games to play. See y'all in 2023!

• Far: Lone Sails - for the game without a plat. Great little game that was a fun weekend project for me. One trophy glitched slightly when it failed to pop after burning six explosive barrels. Thankfully, it randomly unlocked after four barrels during the following playthrough, so I'm not even mad. The game does contain my least favorite type of trophy - one for speedrun, - but the time limit is very forgiving on this one too.
• Peaky Blinders: Mastermind - for the first letter of my PSNID. Big thanks to @gruffiiti for recommending this game to me! I thought the gameplay was very unique and relaxing, though some gold scores were a little challenging as well. Makes me want to watch the show now!
