Missed a week, been playing Elden Ring too much along with Midterms. But here we go.

Elden Ring - Currently at 18%

 

Been playing Elden Ring and this game will probably be my entire focus for the remainder of the month I would say. Been focusing on attempting to play this game entirely with no guides or anything. I blacklisted everything online when it came to trailers and sneak peaks. I wanted to get the full experience of playing a new Souls game as I never had. I only started playing Souls games about a year ago and I just managed to finish all of them right before Elden Ring came out. 

 

Other than that. I absolutely love this game. I haven't seen a game with this many hidden areas in such a long time. I feel i get to some areas of the game and I'm like, "I don't think I'm strong enough for this area" and sure enough i die in one hit. lmao. But this game has yet to disappoint me. I love the combat, the summons, and the joys of exploring and finding new areas. The only disappointment i do have is the fact that I cannot summon anyone for co op while I'm at college. As the college internet is Type 3 and it restricts your summons which makes no sense since other souls games allowed this. But Its no big deal for me. It just teaches me to get better at it and move on. 

 

Cant wait to play more over the month

Here we go with another quick update. Was able to finish a couple of games. In reality, it was just one?I got done with Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and My Name is Mayo 2. Not much I can say about Shadow of War. Don't think the story was as strong as the first one and even felt some of trophies was a pointless mini grind. About the best part of it was the "true ending" where they tie it to the actual movie series. After, I quickly moved on a classic, My Name is Mayo 2. I must confess that I enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to. The developers expanded on it with other mini games. It was quick fun. Not sure what I'll be moving on next. Great seeing everyone's progress.

Tantalisingly close to the 70s now, definite progress being made. Started the week by finally getting the better of GoW3, took a bit longer than I was hoping to best the challenges with plenty of blood, sweat and tears spilt on the way - but eventually ground my way through the toughest couple after dozens and dozens of agonisingly narrow failures, practice makes perfect and all that rubbish. 

 

Returning to an older game to try and get Spy Chameleon, a charmingly infuriating PS4/Vita puzzle game, finished up. Made limited progress in it before getting bored or distracted in 2018. Most of the trophies involve completing three challenges on all 75 levels in Hard mode, two collectibles sets and a speedrun. One batch of collectibles is only unlocked after all the first lot is done and for some illogical reason I thought unlocking them on Normal would also unlock them on Hard. Nope. So I had to play through 40-odd levels again to get them unlocked, which despite it admittedly being a complete brain fade on my part did slightly irritate me. I suppose I really should pay closer attention to guides.

 

Eventually unlocked the second lot and knocked them off, so just beating the speedrun target on every level (and a couple other level-specific trophies I'll take on when I get there) is left now. The problematic trophy needs a complete playing time for the whole game of 18 minutes. My cumulative time after the collectible runs? Just the 2 hours 26 minutes. A bit of room for improvement there I suppose. Gonna be a fun week ahead.

Between the flu and starting gran turismo 7 I almost got my percentage back to where it was prior. Could be more if I just wanted to blow thru some money on it to unlock some stupid ones out if the way. But enjoying the game for most part none the less.

Finished off Forbidden west this week, which I really enjoyed, would not say no to some dlc for this later down the line.

 

Finally returned to one of my long term back log games this week, got the platinum a few years back, and have slowly picked up the various DLC wheneve rits been on sale.

Luckily I'd never updated past version 1.26, so still had access to comrades, which I managed to get co0mpleted this week (found a very helpful guide which made it fairly painless to do).

Currently working on the extra stuff added to the main game (just collectables and the 2 superbosses to do).

Undecided if I'll do the individual episodes next, or somenthing else in between.

Pretty happy how the past week turned out, made some time for a little Destiny 2, got the Platinum ? for Fall Guys and managed to snag most of the distance/ online ? for GT7 (PS4 version).

 

Fall Guys plat was down to chance noticing a new event popping up Tuesday, rinsing the mode for Episode wins, then just playing the main show every night and learning some of the less RNG races. Finished up winning 3 races in the main show and the last being the finale on Fall Mountain, was a really fitting and satisfying ending ?.

 

GT7 I just grinded online races to hit 50 (though there appears to be a bug and double counts races at the moment) and then just drove a lot on tracks for distance ones, seems again some bugs work in the ? hunters favour like getting online distance not in sport mode ?.

 

So this week coming, I’m going to have to pick back up Red Dead Redemption 2, just continue grinding collector role for XP on the way to rank 50, around 19 at the moment. There are 2 other online trophy’s along the way for buying stuff so sure those will be easy with the funds / right level. 
 

Also plan to try and complete some of the new content season stuff going on in Destiny 2, slacked a little this week.

This past week was rather successful, I finally beat Resident Evil 7 and got my unearned trophies down to 1,002 so a mere 3 away from being under 1,000 which I have wanted for a few years now. It won't stay that way long ? but I will be happy to have reached it. Not sure if I will do another run right away or go back Yakuza Like a Dragon and finish off its platinum. Either game would probably get me up to 89% overall completion.

 

I also learned recently that the coop mode in Uncharted 4 can be done solo. The Crushing trophies might be beyond me solo but I can get 10 trophies "easy" for at least completing each stage. So maybe I'll work on that this week. ? Decisions, decisions.

Bought Elden Ring! But I am only going to start when I have finished DS II, probably April will be Elden Ring month!

 

Dark Souls II : Scholar of the first Sin - PS4

Making progress in the game but it goes slowly. Well I need to replay certain parts multiple times because death is part of the experience ? so that is actually the reason why this goes step-by-step. Very enjoyable ride nevertheless

 

DriveClub - PS4

Re-installed the game as I don't went to spend all of my gaming time in Dark Souls. I did achieve the platinum years ago but have some unfinished DLC's left. I am not planning to try to get every single trophy. The Gold ones were you have to get all Gold Stars are pretty though, at least for me. So just chipping away on reasonable achievable trophies.

Assassin's Creed II (5% -> 11%):

So I like this game much more already. The story really just starts at 100%. I am still not that far, just complete the first "Memory Sequence", which I am pretty sure is just their version of chapters lol. However, I am very interested in the story and wanting to play more. Going to have to dedicate time this week to continue to play. Best part, there is only one missable trophy, so I can just play through and do clean up after I am all done. Very much like that lol.

 

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni (84% -> 94%):

Got through the couple other modes this week. The final challenges were actually pretty difficult. I had to look up a different method and level up another girl in order to beat them. But once I did that, they were pretty simple. Have all the grinds but one done now, just need the 5M exp. I am currently at ~2.1M, and the level I am grinding gives ~25k and takes ~2 minutes to beat. The REAL grind though is the loading screens feel like they are just as long as the level.

 

Final Fantasy XIV (40% -> 44%):

Wooo my trophies actually made progress! Been going through the previous expansion, and since I got almost to level 80, I went ahead and bought the most recent expansion so I wouldn't lose exp points. I got pretty lucky with getting a TT card from one the alliance raids, but that raid drops two, so I will need to run it again for the other one. There are a ton of cards that drop from different dungeons so I will have to grind a ton of those. Hoping I can solo most of them at level 90 though, so I don't have to do PF too much. Didn't get too many collectibles crafted though. Since I am sure I will need to run several Alliance Raids for cards, and they take a hot minute to pop, I am sure I can craft them while I wait. Maybe play a VN on my vita while crafting them too. We shall see.

This was quite a good week even though I did not personally feel like it, Ark and Pillars of the Earth saved the week in terms of % since the other games did progress but not with trophies, next week I'll be travelling so let's see how it goes

I am really interested in trying to go for the plat of First Class Trouble, seems it is quite easy to get the plat if boosted but needs 6 players, I'd be able to log with both PS4 and PS5 since they gave both versions on PS+ and so if there was some other people in the same situation we could solve it with 3 people and also all 3 of us getting 2 plats, if anyone around here is interested let me know!

The Pillars of the Earth - PS4 - 91% - Started this one after Ark to get a break from Miku, it went way faster than I expected, funny that since they added the rest of the story as free DLC I already got the plat but am halfway the game

What happened last week: Hello dear reader. I lowered my completion percentage again. However, I don't feel bad about it this time. I have been playing a lot of Elden Ring and trying different builds and restarting a couple times. I realized I could be messing around on the PS4 version and kind of doubling up on the trophies, so I decided to go ahead and do that. Activating the PS4 trophy list is what lowered my overall completion, but I think it will mean more trophies with the same amount of hours invested into the game. I haven't seen much difference in quality between the console versions tbh. The PS4 version has longer load times but not by much. I think there is a little less ground clutter with grasses and things. The light also seems to be just a tiny bit worse. But I think, overall, it's like 90-95% the same feeling. So I can play either version and enjoy it fully. 

 

What I played:

• Elden Ring - This is really the only thing I've played. My time was a bit more limited than usual, but also I've found Elden Ring that compelling. I haven't really felt like starting up anything else. My first and main guy started as a samurai and is basically still that. I've stuck with a dexterity build so far. That character is 85ish in level and currently exploring Deep Rot Depths. He's my "blind playthrough" character. I'm thoroughly exploring each area with him and avoiding any content  that would show me places he hasn't gone. I've created four other characters that have all cleared out all the Limgrave zones and defeated the bosses in Castle Morne and Stormveil Castle. However, I think I'm going to abandon almost all of them. I'm really bored of the starting zones and don't want to do the mid-game game stuff five times too. I'll have my samurai for ps5 and a wretch that I started on PS4. The wretch is still pretty much a blank slate. since I've mostly just invested into vigor and endurance so far. Regardless, I'm ready to focus on finishing the game with the samurai and using my wretch as @gruffiiti 's co-op partner going forward instead of the mage I was trying out. Which, hopefully, will end with double platinum!

 

Plans for this week: I'll just be doing my thing in Elden Ring. I think I'm done messing around and experimenting though so I should be popping trophies like crazy as I'm in what I think could be called the final act of the game. I still need to go back to Tails of Iron and see if I can beat Bloody Whiskers mode for the videos on the trophy guide.

Update 5 Week 10 AoC 22 (U5W10AoC22)

 

Happy Monday All!

 

It is that time again for an update though not too much of one for me.  This last week I went from 84.48% to 84.83% a +0.35% which puts me finally over 1% total increase from the start.  Which feels weird since last month I managed to clear 1% PCB increase for the month goal, but that was only due to starting the month in a deficit from start of the year.  No new goals completed, as I have only worked on game this month so far, and not sure if I will finish it before the end of month.  This month is hopefully the last "busy" month for me.  This Friday is my birthday and while I don't care to celebrate it, I was told by my sister in law that my nephew and niece want me to have a party since they want cake and ice cream...., the 25th weekend will probably have little to no game time as that is my 20th Wedding anniversary (damn I feel old) and I tend to not game on the wife's time.  Makes for a less stressful life lol.

 

Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4) - 

Still working on this game though I did manage to finish 1 of the dlc's the frozen wilds quests, the other frozen wilds dlc will be complete once I hit level 60, 58 now.  I am probably a little less than halfway in the main game, I wanted to check out the first village in frozen wilds found the exp for killing the enemies amazing and before I knew it I had beaten the dlc lol, and probably leveled myself out of too much of a challenge for the base game since, it maxed at level 50 before the dlc and I read the enemies don't level with you so. well I guess it is enjoy the story time on the base game hehe.

 

 

Upcoming week:

More Horizon Zero Dawn, I probably could knock the story out in a couple days of playtime, though I love to do side quests as they come and explore so I really doubt that will happen hehe.  I am also Puppy sitting this week so not as much game time as I would hope but I will see what I can get done.  I would also like get my camera setup for the ps3 as my office is pretty clean right now as I cleaned it up so I wasn't tripping on things while using my VR headset on my desktop, so it would be nice to work on Sports champions some more on ps3.

Still playing Elden Ring too but no trophy progress for this update. Should unlock a bunch this coming week though, and maybe finish up the plat within 2 weeks.

From what I read they will bring back sweet thieves again. My suggestion is to get a squad together. It makes it better than playing with just randoms.

Let's Update this Ay? Six platinums in and I've raised my percentage by 1.20% Picking up trophies over five years dominant. I think I'll complete the 5% over the year but that 10% personal challenge is looking extremely unrealistic. I look forward to seeing if I can Get It Done though. How's Everyone else fairing?

Monday Tuesday Update

 

Missed updating yesterday as woke up late and it threw the whole day off for me. Here is what Ive played this past week.

 

 

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout

Not much to say about this point & click game. I wasn't feeling it as everything about it just felt very tedious and only half baked. I ended up just following a guide to get it done.

Carto

This was an interesting puzzle game that was really quite good. At its core it has a cool concept that I haven't seen before. The world is made up of tiles that can be rotated and moved around to allow you to move to different areas and unlock new areas in order to complete tasks. The puzzles were great and it did have me scratching my head before figuring out how to move forward a few times. I came up with the right solutions eventually though with some out of the box thinking. Definitely a game that should be played if you enjoy games with puzzles in them.

 

Elden Ring

Continued on with my playthrough and hardly feel like Ive scratched the surface yet. The co-op with @Man of Inaction has been a lot of fun. A few annoyances like not being able to use Torrent in MP but good fun otherwise. Pretty much cleared out the first few areas of the game and did a pretty thorough sweep of Stormveil Castle. First Great Rune collected after besting Shardbearer Godrick (which was a pretty cool boss fight). Have to figure out how to restore it yet and then start exploring the next area.

This is the best news I've heard today. I hope so. I still need to get the Show Off trophy. No way I'm winning an episode ?? I'm the worst at the game but I do have fun and be cracking up all the time.

I'll do my mid month update now I suppose. 

I gave up on Kill Your Completion 18 so my PCG isn't down at all since last month.

All I've completed so far this month is

Beyond a Steel Sky -> Platinum

 

I've mostly been playing Elden Ring and Gran Turismo 7. I don't think I'll complete my other goals of one Hitman 3 DLC or working towards the Kena platinum. That's ok though, I seem to have trouble sticking to a plan and tend to play what I feel like. Real life has also been kind of shitty right now too so I'm trying to not be too hard on myself.

Getting a win in squads can net you Show Off, much easier to do that. Even with randoms, if you have a good team it is much better.

Word? I was hoping to get the trophy while the Thieves game mode was on it was easy, and while it wasn't guarantee, there were times where my celebration would come up. From what I've read, you could pop the Show Off trophy but now, I'm just gonna try that squad goal. Perhaps I get lucky like all the other Fall Guys trophies I've gotten??

Well, progress is slow and I set my bar quite high ? Gotten 3  within the last week with Oddworld: New N' Tasty being the latest one, and was hoping to be over 84% but that's clearly NOT the case ? Guess we just gotta keep pushing. There's still plenty of time. Now, I'm just gonna jump into Oddworld: Soulstorm, especially since I really enjoyed the first one more than I thought I would. Saw a bit of gameplay last game and developers went all out with it. Haven't touched the game or ever played the original game or even heard of the series but I'm liking it. Bit intimated for the completion rarity but we'll make it happen, I hope.
