Attack on Completion 2022 ( And so It Begins)

0% games are not calculated in overall percentage but the moment you pop the first trophy it will be.

Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and games with a second trophy list like Minecraft and The Elder Scrolls Online all automatically add the additional trophy list at 0%. As always, you can delete 0% lists (hence why Crash 2 and 3 are not on mine) but the next time you play the game it will be re-added.

Spyro 1 and 2 are pretty easy, think each one took me a week, so you could definitely clean them both up in the 3 remaining months. You do have my sympathies though - at least it's not the drastic drop I had with TESO.

Thanks brother. I'm cracking on now. I reckon if I look at the drop caused by Deep Rock Galactic and Untitled Goose Game I've probably done nearly 5% overall this year but hey-ho. Between that and a few games becoming unattainable this year, it was a bit of a gut punch.

Still, picked up a copy of ModNation Racers so I can at least do the single player stuff ?

All heading in the right direction.

Sorry for the double post but I'm just intrigued by the maths of it all. Did some more Spyro tonight and my % jumped up to 51.66.

Working on the basis that

Bronze = 0.1%

Silver = 0.3%

Gold = 0.6%

When I finish Spyro 2 my % will be greater than when I started, even though the trophy list wasn't being counted as I had no trophies already popped.

My % gain will go from 51.89 to 52.26 which isn't the total value of the trophy list. It represents an increase of 0.37 whereas the list is worth 0.78.

Anyway, I'm going to bed but will be interesting to see if my % exceeds 51.89% when I finish Spyro 2 because (I think) it shouldn't?

Well after a bit of a break whilst having a go at Destiny 2 new season and finishing A Realm Reborn in Final Fantasy XIV, neither of which contributed squat to my completion %, however the latter did get over half way done with final 1f3c6.png for 1k levequests, probably 3 months left including sub break.

I’ve decided to call it with the game, did enjoy moments of the main quest, especially ending parts of A Realm Reborn but after starting Heavensward I’m just not gelling with delivery style enough to continue. I also decided to can playing Destiny 2 anymore, still love the gunplay but there is just too many systems & grinds & fomo elements I don’t care for anymore.

So onto this week, my plans are to start tackling my Fall backlog challenge games, actually made a start on The Evil Within , got me a trophy after completing it back in 2018 so hopefully that’s the spark to continue it until 100%. I wasn’t suppose to start until October but couldn’t help myself going back.

Elden Ring is also one of my games, continuing the playthrough - think I’m just about ready for Caelid, some funky stuff has gone down in my last 5-10 hours… no idea where the game is taking me but is fun!

I also started today a new game (also part of Fall challenge list), Borderlands 2, it added so many unearned trophys but I’m looking forward what is heralded as the best in the series.

Finally if I do find some time, possibly continuing on with my 50 hour in Persona 5 playthrough, in the palace from the beginning so hoping to find out what the hell is going on!!

Does mean a lot of diversity going on for the next few months but hoping it gets me out of the slight rut I had of not knowing what else to pair with Elden Ring.

Started: 75.09%

Last week: -% (I was too afraid to look after hitting 82.something%)

Current: 80.50%

New games started: Borderlands 2

Milestone: none

i have been thinking on what games but i cant find any do you have some recomendations wich ones i shouls get the platinum trophie i reacht with persona 5 royal 60 percent but i dont know wich game to do really should i do only persona 5 royal because i really need to finish my games but i played trough some made some progress with syndicate and i gotto many games i going to stop now taking free ps plus games ore even buy new i got over hundres of games so if any of you guys have recomendations to finish some games let me know

Here's some fun for you to look forward to...

when I start a new game these days, my percentage drops about 0.7% , when I finish said game, my percentage has increased by a whopping 0.01% , occasionally 0.02%  :)

Starting: 67.31%
Goal:  73%

Current: 71.33%

I haven't posted an update in months. I wasn't working on the Completion that much, I've been playing mostly new games from PS Plus and even if I got 100% from the newly added game, it didn't really help that much with the Completion. However, my average rarity dropped a lot, from 41.65% to 39.73% and I "care" more about that over Completion.

My current Completion is 71.33% so an increase of 4.02% this year. I might still be able to reach the goal of 73%. Depends if keep working on the already started games or not.

Nice decrease in rarity!

You have a number of easy games that you could complete to reach your completion percentage goal. Bioshock Remastered,  Lego Harry Potter, and if you can join a trophy world for Minecraft you could clean up most of it. Only downside is that it would probably increase your average rarity a little.

Weekly Update Time.

Crossed a couple of non 100%'s off the lsit this week.

Deathloop- 4 New trophies were added ina recent update, only took me an hour or 2 to get through.

Ghostrunner- Knocked out the DLC trophies. I'm not great at this game, so some segements wer eincredibly frustrating- particularly the complete the first level without dying.

Resident Evil 6- Somehting I've been meaning to come back to for a long time. One of my easlier platinums (7th). Cleared the Predator dlc trophies, and asuming I can find a boositng group, I'm hoping to works towards the others over the coming weeks.

Plans for the week ahead:

RE5 Verses mode- Have a boosting session this evening, to make a start on some of the teasm based trophies, and I have access to a 2nd ps3 to solo boost the 1vs1 related trophies. Lost in Nightmare & Desperate escape are being saved for next year. I'm planning on doing the numbered entries of the series in order. Probably going to leave a single RE6 dlc trophy out for the same reason.

RE6 DLC- Depending on finding boosting groups, I hope to work towards some of these also.

Week 39 STARTING PERCENTAGE 77.13%

Disc Jam 70% -> 100%

Yakuza Kiwami 37% -> 61%

Week 39 ENDING PERCENTAGE 77.51% (+0.38%)

Took a midweek break from my Kamurocho related shenanigans to finally tick off my missing online Disc Jam trophy with 26 hours to spare before the server closure. Thank goodness for boosting sessions, there'd have been no chance of doing it otherwise. Only took 5 years and 5 months to 100% it.

An unfortunate side effect of that was my boneheadedly forgetting that Kiwami doesn't have an autosave - and to compound things I'd just finished Chapter 11, only needing to speak to a NPC to officially complete it, get a save prompt and move on. Instead I decided to take the chance to do a fair bit of free roam secondary stuff to try and get as much as possible out of the way early, moving my total completion from around 43% to 49.88% - I vividly remember that figure as I checked how I was sitting just before closing it as there's a trophy for 50% completion, and that caused mild irritation at the time. Mild irritation was replaced with gut-wrenching agony a few hours later when I re-opened the game to find I was back at the start of Chapter 11, with about seven hours of work down the tubes. Definitely some NSFW language was used and there may or may not have been a few tears shed.

After that tantrum I was forced to keep calm and carry on, self inflicted wounds and all that. Spent most of Thursday repeating what I'd been doing earlier in the week and completed the main storyline on Friday, so now the true grind can begin, a long way to go yet. Some of it shouldn't be too problematic at first glance, some of it definitely will be. And I'm making sure I'm saving about every 30 seconds now, just in case. It's definitely going to be a long week ahead.

oh that is horrifying! I think we all have been there where we lost so much progress. Good luck with getting back into the saddle!

Update #35:

Starting completion rate (from the beginning of the year) : 55.12%

Current completion rate : 59.51% (+0.09% from last update ~ +4.39% from start)

Target rate: 63.12% (8% increase)

Hello everyone, this week I did a lot of different games lol mostly cause I'm tired of almost all of them but gotta keep going and not abandon them

  • Overwatch - Completed
  • Assassin's Creed 3 - Safe, all online trophies completed
  • Driver San Francisco - Safe, all online trophies completed
  • Everybody's Golf - Completed
  • Super Bomberman R - Started (Due December 1st)
  • Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation -  Safe, all online trophies completed
  • Dante's Inferno -  Almost Done (No date announced but seems servers for trials are dying)
  • Babylon's Fall -  tbd (Due February 23th)
  • Far Cry 2 -  Started (No date announced but may go down with other servers on October 1st, also servers are dying)

Completed this week:

TOEM - PS5 - Toem again! DLC showed up and I quickly grabbed it to be back at 100%, not adding it again to the completed list though since it is already there

Progress this week:

Dante's Inferno - PS3 - 98% - Everything else done except from trials, SP trials are half done and couldn't get my friend back again to help with the coop ones, the trials are way harder than they should so it's very boring and that's why I didn't finish SP trials yet, hopefully this one can be completed soon

Super Bomberman R - PS4 - 39% - It is a fun game but the trophy list is VERY repetitive, already beat the game once out of three times and started doing some VS trophies, didn't touch online yet

Assassin's Creed 3 - PS3 - 57% - Out of total boredom I went back to this one and did quite some progress in one sitting, 11%+ on the DNA tracker and now at 66% of the whole game completed

Towerfall Ascension - PS4 - 5% - Over the weekend tried this one with my wife's brothers, quite a challenge, will probably keep playing next time

September Summary

September began with me finishing off Kingdom Come: Deliverance, it was a heck of a ride and I hope we hear something about the sequel sometime soon. Hopefully it will run better on the PS5 and be exclusive to it so it is not handicapped by the PS4's limitations. To shake things up from that game's slower pace I went to Bioshock Infinite (PS3).

I began this Bioshock game over 7 years ago and got maybe a third of the way through it before losing interest and put it down. Coming back to that old save was a little rough but I got back into the swing of things fairly quickly. I didn't care for only being able to carry 2 weapons, it felt like a cheap way to force an increase in difficulty - let me main some guns but have access to others when I run out of ammo without having to pick one up. The plasmids or vigors as they are called in this Bioshock were pretty cool though. I largely enjoyed the story despite knowing the major twist and was filled with so much nostalgia for the first game during one of the moments in the ending "cutscenes." With my first playthrough at long last completed, I dove into 1999 mode which is this games very had mode. Honestly, like many games, the difficulty was over inflated. Using the right strategies and gear, it became a cakewalk to Platinum #150 and only left the DLC's for my next 100%. However, that would have to wait as I did not relish diving into the first DLC which is a challenge arena mode called Clash in the Clouds (CitC) so next up was Up!

Before that though, I have to talk about flOw. I think I first played this game when Sony gave it away for free following that big hack over a decade ago. I remember thinking it would be an easy game to pick up a couple of trophies in, I was wrong as I only ever popped the one trophy. On a whim during my 1999 run in Infinite I bought the bundle so I could get the DLC trophy that was added and chip a little more off of the Unearned Trophies pile as I desperately try to find ways to get to that 5% goal. Following some video guides, I got all the trophies fairly easily but Cannibal still took a few attempts to get, it was the last one I earned and it felt really good to definitively close the door on this game after 12 years and 6 months! (My new longest game to complete by 2 months.)

Alright, back to Up. This was tie-in game of Disney Pixar's movie Up, and it was pretty decent all things considered - if you have kids it's an easy Platinum to earn while playing with them. I bought this off eBay (only my third ever purchase off the site, shocking I know) and it arrived during my 1999 run but I decided to wait to play it until September 24th for an event that day. I had hoped to complete it that day but I had clambakes to attend that weekend so my time was limited that Saturday and Sunday but I did manage to at least beat the campaign Saturday and get all but 1 trophy on Sunday. I decided to save it for an easy Platinum to start October so I could keep my at least one Platinum a month streak alive.

With Up and flOw done and dusted, I went back to the dreaded CitC DLC. While not particularly hard - especially compared to the Arkham games challenges or Dishonored's Dunwall City Trials - they were boring and tedious. I considered stacking Infinite with the PS4 edition but this mode put the nail in the coffin for that. When I finally finished it though, it was time for Burial at Sea Part 1 and let me tell you, I was stoked. This was it, I was going back to Rapture, and what a way to go! The first 20-30 minutes are spent in a Rapture before all hell broke loose, just a little while before New Years 1959... Being a big fan of fantasy games, you often explore areas well after their prime, only hearing or reading about the heyday of a civilization and I relish anytime I get to see said ruins in their prime. I soaked up my time in this opening area exploring every nook and cranny soaking it all in. After this section though, you get sent to an area much more in line with the first Bioshock and the gameplay changes too. The game becomes more about scrounging resources then ever before, vigors are once again called plasmids, salts are once again called Eve, all in all it put the biggest smile on my face. The ending was unexpected so I won't spoil it but it definitely left me hungering for Part 2. However l didn't get to it until October 1st which means you have to be left hungering for more too.

And that's all she wrote for September, might add a little more once stats are up, but that's gist of what I wanted to share. Oh wait! I forgot to say I was totally stoked to see Syphon Filter 2 get added to the Classics lists that have trophies and hope to get to it in October!

Loved reading about your BioShock journey dude. It remains one of my favourite series when I did them on PC many moons ago and doing the remastered collection on PlayStation will be a real treat for me, much like the Mass Effect collection as and when I get round to it.

This challenge has certainly made me consider what I trophy hunt a lot more but I'm saving some thoughts up for an end of the year/challenge post.

Signing up for the event.

55.91%  503 played games, 7828 unearned trophies. 236 completed games,173 plats.
COMPLETION % GOAL - 65% ( Almost 10 % increase)

I started clearing my backlog in January 2021 when I became a completionist. Then I got VR ( VIRTUAL REALITY). It kinda took over my life for almost 2 years now.
Its time to go back to cleaning my backlog , yet again.
Will be doing a bunch of VR stuff, but will try and focus on older games.

EDIT: Are the monthly challenges tracked by the bot, or do I have to report this kind of stuff?
