The Platinum Games (Ongoing) (SIGN-UPS Closed)

Welcome to the first ever Platinum Games!

 

 

Behold, my fellow Trophy Hunters and PlayStation Enthusiasts, the first ever Platinum Games!

Yes, you heard it right!

Come one, come all, come participate in this event that I thought of mere minutes ago!

This is definitely not a rip off of the Netflix Original Squid Games!

 

In all seriousness, you can find all the info below, and I will keep updating the participants, prizes, FAQs and more stuff as soon as possible. If this goes good, I will also hold this next year as well.

 

~ THE IDEA ~

There are going to be as many participants as there can be. I am not setting a limit in this event, because I want to see how far can I stretch this. Basically, there are 12 months in a year, and there are going to be 12 challenges or GAMES that every participant is going to be playing. Not being able to complete a challenge or not meeting the required parameters for qualification will result in elimination. The Challenges will be simple enough for everyone to complete, but they will get more difficult as we go through the year. 

"There will be only one Winner"

"The Winner gets all the Glory"

Also, to make it more exciting and make it feel like more of a community event, I request each participant to document their journey in these games by making a video of at least 15 seconds, for each challenge they play (12 months), showing off their trophies, or sharing their feelings about the event and how are they keeping up with the competition. I will be compiling these videos every month, and uploading this to YouTube, for the world to see. It is fine if you don't feel like it, and that's that. But if you do like the idea, let me know below if you're interested in being a part of the YouTube video compilation.

I will be letting you know seven of the games in advance, while the remaining five are going to be a surprise.

There is no need declare games in the beginning or anything. You can do as much as you want, as long as you adhere to the rules.

 

Sign-Ups are CLOSED now.

Sign-Ups close 30th of January, 2022 (12PM GMT).

 

The Platinum Games begin 7th of January, 2022 (12 PM GMT).

 

~THE GAMES~

1. January - Obtain a Platinum Trophy
2. February - Pop 100 trophies (any) from the beginning of this event till 28th of February
3. March - Team Event
4. April - 100% 10 Games from the beginning of the event till 30th of April, from at least 5 different genres
5. May - Pop 300 Bronze Trophies, 150 Silver Trophies, 50 Gold Trophies, & 10 Platinum Trophies since the beginning of this event till 31st of May
6. June - Surprise
7. July - 100% 3 games which are a part of a series. Do this task for 2 different series.
8. August - Pop all trophies for 12 DLCs since the beginning of this event till 31st of August
9. September - Start 2 Games this month, and Platinum them in this month only
10. October - Surprise
11. November - Surprise
12. December - Surprise

 

~THE RULES~

NO AUTOPOP, NO STACKING BETWEEN COUNTRIES!!!

No trophies that have been autopopped will be counted. You can definitely autopop trophies for your own sake, but those trophies will not count towards your progress in the challenges. However, in case of stacking, I know some people might feel a bit weird, but hear me out. Stacking is allowed, as long as the game is on a different platform, and has met a single condition of the following:- 

1. The 50th Fastest Achiever has a completion time of at least 1 day in 100% CLUB.

2. Average completion of the game is less than 40%.

3. The trophy list of the game has an ultra rare trophy (excluding the platinum)

I WILL find out if the trophies have been autopopped or stacked, so BEWARE. I highly doubt participants will be able to find such games that fit the criteria, but let's see.

 

All the games being played by participants to complete the above challenges, should meet the following conditions:-

1. The 50th Fastest Achiever has a completion time of at least 6 hours in the 100% CLUB. (In case of the autopop leaderboard, the PS4 version will be counted)

2. Average Completion rate of the game is less than 75%. (In case of the autopop stats, the PS4 version will be counted)

3. Should have at least 20 base game trophies or at least 50 trophies including DLCs.

 

Pertaining to each Challenge

 

January - Obtain a Platinum Trophy

This is a pretty simple one. Just obtain a platinum. No need to start a new game, although if you want to, that's up to you. However, any game that you platinum must meet the above conditions. Also, you need to pop atleast 5 more trophies from that game (excluding the platinum) in order for it to count. So, if you have a game and just need one more trophy to obtain the platinum, it won't count. You need to have at least 5 trophies (any trophy) unpopped upon the beginning of the games in order for it to count. Games like HITMAN which don't have a platinum do not count.

 

February - Pop 100 trophies (any) from the beginning of this event till 28th of February

Pretty simple again. Just play games, pop trophies, get 'em up to 100.

 

March - Team Event

 

So this is the third month of the year 2022. You all will be divided into teams of FOUR and are going to compete against each other in terms of points. Each team will have to score points, and the team with the least points at the end of the month will be eliminated. The point system will be as follows:-

 

• 1 point for a Bronze Trophy.
• 2 points for a Silver Trophy.
• 3 points for a Gold Trophy.
• 5 points for a Platinum Trophy
• 5 additional points to each player of the team if the same Platinum is earned by all four.
• 5 points for 100%-ing a game (only if the game has at least 2 DLCs with at least 2 trophies in each DLC)
• 100 additional points will be awarded to the team who gets 25 Platinum Trophies during this challenge.
• Every 1000 points grants 100 additional points.
• 50 Additional Points to a player for getting 5 Platinum Trophies during the month.

 

The teams have been chosen at random and will be announced shortly. The rules for the trophies are the same as the entire event. Again, as in the first challenge, you need to pop at least 5 more trophies from those games (excluding the platinum) in order for them to count, at the time of beginning of the Platinum Games Event.

 

April - 100% 10 Games from the beginning of the event till 30th of April, from at least 5 different genres

100% means 100%, not just platinum. In case a game has a DLC, you need to 100% it. Most games don't have a DLC, so it should just mean platinum the game. However, in case the game you are trying to 100% has a DLC that has to be purchased but you do not want to spend money, you can try a different game. In case you do not have any other game, then you can be exempt from 3 out of 6 games for this challenge, upon special request before the beginning of the month. 3 Different Genres means that you need to 100% 6 games, all of them belonging to different genres. For example, you can play Resident Evil 2 Remake & Resident Evil 3 Remake (2 Games from Horror Genre), Project Cars 2 (Racing), GTA V (Action), Stranded Deep & Farming Simulator 2022 (Simulator). The Genres can be found like shown below. However, only the first genre written on the website counts (In case a game has multiple genres, only the first one counts).  Again, as in the first challenge, you need to pop atleast 5 more trophies from those games (excluding the platinum) in order for them to count, at the time of beginning of the games. Also, the game being used to get a platinum in January does not count in this challenge.

 

May - Pop 300 Bronze Trophies, 150 Silver Trophies, 50 Gold Trophies, & 10 Platinum Trophies since the beginning of this event till 31st of May

This is pretty self explanatory. Rack up your trophies, WARRIORS.

 

June - Surprise

 

July - 100% 3 games which are a part of a series. Do this task for 2 different series.

The game series can be found pretty easily, as shown below. As in the first challenge, you need to pop at least 5 more trophies from those games (excluding the platinum) in order for them to count, at the time of beginning of the games.

 

August - Pop all trophies for 12 DLCs since the beginning of this event till 31st of August

Pretty simple. Just complete 10 DLCs since the beginning of this event. However, all the DLC trophies should be unlocked after the beginning of the event. A DLC with only 1 trophy does not count. The HITMAN games DLCs DO count toward this challenge's progression. In case a person does not have ANY DLC to complete (you have this whole time to purchase games of your own wish), you can let me know before the beginning of the month so I can switch your challenge up to something of my own thinking.

 

September - Start 2 Games this month, and Platinum them in this month only

Another simple challenge. Just start 2 games during September and Platinum them during these 30 days. However, there is a requirement for the games that can be chosen. The games should meet any one of the following conditions.

1. Has 1 Ultra-Rare Trophy (as on PSNProfiles).

2. Average Completion Rate below 40%.

3. Has 5 Rare Trophies (as on PSNProfiles).

You HAVE to declare the games that you are choosing for this month before-hand. I will upload a Google Form Link before the beginning of this month to facilitate this.

September is to eazy tho. You may add like rarity requirement or to have less then x achivers or both. It is not harder then previous "complete 20 DLC" when you can get it with 5 min plats.

Obviously, I am updating the rules as we speak. This is not going to be a simple thing so don't worry. And no, I won't surprise participants with 90% completion or something like that.

Where it says that trophies need to be ultra rare, does that mean ultra rare on psn or ultra rare on psnprofiles? I have a few games that are ultra rare on psn, but only rare on psnprofiles

You can upload them to.youtube through the share button in Playstation I don't see a problem.

Though I do request against challenges to do with your overall completion rate- I love starting games just to look at their trophy lists and then deleting them til I want to play them- now I'm not saying to tailor this event to me whatsoever- I'm just saying I'm done for if we do that!

Noo No no, there are not going to be any challenges that target a person's past performance. The only stats that are going to matter are during the games.

Every trophy you get needs to be a part of the game that meets the requirements. The rules apply for the whole duration of the Platinum Games.

Question for you @rahulrx0. You mention in the OP that the games start on the 3rd, but I don't see a timezone. Could you confirm that the event has oficially started and what timezone you'll be using for cut-offs?

Updated the timing and the zone. Also, I have postponed the beginning of the games to the 7th of January. I had made that edit previously but somehow it did not reflect. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Yes bro it will count as long as it meets the january condition the 5 trophies rule.

The Platinum Games will begin as mentioned in the OP. I would like to request you all to please request your friends to join as well to make this a bit more interesting and fun.
