What games do you love but there is a section / mission you dread / hate doing ?

I don't have a moment on hand that I can think of but for me a lot of the reasons there are games I want to play but don't end up playing is because I'll get them much later than they were released and I'll have watched someone do a playthrough or a livestream of said game months before I ever brought it and as soon as I think about wanting to start up said game I'll have flashbacks to a part I saw in a stream and I'll just end up not wanting to play it because I remember those moments.

The puzzle mini-game in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. I'm not a fan of puzzles and I found this mini-game to be very difficult. There used to be programs that helped with this game, and I have no doubt that this trophy would have been ultra rare without them.

Those programs were gone by the time I got to the game.

Mary-Jane section in Spiderman and the Catfight club in Y0 were 2 of mine as well.  Also Puyo-Puyo in Judgement.  Unlike Mahjong, Koi-koi, dancing, and other stuff in RGG games that I started off hating, but eventually got the hang of and like to play now, Puyo Puyo is something my brain is just too slow to handle  lmao

Some throwbacks I still remember:

1)  Machine Gun Willy in Double Dragon.  I could be cruising along destroying everyone, and that asshole comes out, knocks you to the ground, and you're returning to your feet in a hail of gunfire, and that's a wrap.  The moving wall bricks from the beginning of the stage get an honorable mention too.

2)  SMB 1 stage 8-3.  If I didn't have fireballs when I got to the single hammer brother guarding the level with no platforms, I was screwed

3)  Battletoads - Swimming section

Resident Evil Remake - That part in the lab where you have to walk slowly to not blow yourself up.

Final Fantasy X-2 - The Kilika Woods and Bevelle missions. Especially the Bevelle one where you gotta align those cylinders to hop down.

Forbidden Siren - Any sections where you have to play as Harumi.

The Evil Within - The bus.

Bioshock - After you become a certain person and have to escort another certain person to several different corpses. Please just siphon it faster.

Each of the first 3 Uncharted games has a section like that for me.

Uncharted 1 - Any of the jet ski sections and the church shootout near the end of the game. Both in the courtyard and inside the church.

The jet skis just control horribly and the that final church shootout is really annoying with enemies spawning behind you.

Uncharted 2 - The shootout in the snow right after the train section.

I've always felt like you should be able to stealth this section, but the game forces you into a shootout even if you don't want to. Enemies on opposite sides of the area and the end where 3 heavy armored shotgunners come at you is not great.

Uncharted 3 - The shipyard.

This section just sucks. Nowhere to really take cover and there's enemies from all sides including 2 turrets. Always dread getting to this section.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep- Disney Town, the mini games drove me insane. I hate mini games, especially annoyingly difficult and frustrating Kingdom Hearts ones and the fact that they are part of the story progression was a pain. Mini games should stay optional.

Tales of Vesperia- certain side quests, mainly the dog map one where you have to get Repede to pee his way around. It gets hard once you've got 99% of it as all the red just blurs and it's hard to see the bit you need. It was also very tedious. I also did not like the cow kid quests or any of the mini games, especially the border repede trophy and the waiter game.

KH3- All the mini game trophies, I don't know what was worse but most drove me insane. I really hated the cherry and melon flan ones, I tried them millions of times before getting a high score, and also the data scraper and the toy story shooting game also made me want to throw my controller.

FFX- Seymour boss fight in Macalania temple, this bit of the game really creeped my out with the music and his pervy aura. The boss fight was also kind of hard and I only managed to win by reflecting all his magic with Yunas bar/null magic, which took me a while to figure out. All the mini games are a pain... (I hate mini games of all shapes and forms)

FFXV- driving in the car before you unlock the fast travel, super boring.

Tales of Xillia 2- bad ending battle, too emotional and also pretty hard since you are solo against many.

Beyond two souls- all the repetition required for the plat and also having to play the entire game in two player for a trophy, like what the hell.

Oh God. Uncharted. Played those on PS3 years ago so all the sections just blend together now but one section in particular I remember vividly. Its an enclosed underground chamber of some kind, enemies from all sides and some from a ledge above. And the barricades you can hide behind just get shot through so you cant stay in cover. I think its Uncharted 2. Horrible.

Yakuza Kiwami chapter 9 on legend mode.

Basically you have a stage to get through, then a boss battle and then it moves onto a car chase. Now in the original version it had a checkpoint at the start of the car chase section, but it the Kiwami remake they removed it, so if you failed the chase part then you had to go right back to the start of the chapter. It took me 33 attempts to succeed and I never want to go through that again.

Final Fantasy X - Chocobo Race.

And RNG course which has about 5 alternative set patterns and you can only succeed on about 2 of them. Took me 102 attempts I think. Horrible experience.

I've done every route in SMT: If... and man, the domain of sloth is such a slog to get through. The encounter rate is very high and to make it more fun, you have to walk through about 6 lunar cycles. That's an extremely long forced grind for 3 of the 4 routes. The only positive about it is how easy it is to turn your brain off while doing it and focus on something else .

Dragon Age: Origins - The Deep Roads.

I did around 14 full 100% playthroughs of Origins, and each time I hated the Deep Roads section too. It's not hard, its juts a serious eye sore and very dull. I was dreading hearing that it was in the Awakening expansion too, but it was fine in that area.

It would have to be the new 2018 version of “God of War” one of the last trophies I needed unfortunately lol. It was beating Valkyrie queen… I know some ppl would say “it’s not that hard if you just memorize her attack patterns, try playing dark souls” Will guesswhat? I guess I just suck cause I tried that and still got my ass handed to me lol I ended up beating that devil of a boss after almost a week (few breaks cuz I was pissed) boss fights like that and reason why gamers get burnt out from trophy hunting. I remember after beating it I took a few weeks off lol overall the game was beautiful, audio was perfect, the story was great. I just loved the game, I had fun and enjoy getting all the trophies, even those dumb crows lol best game outta the whole god of war series in my opinion . Fr should of had a few ultra rare trophies ? lol

FFVII is probably my favourite game of all time but I dread the Corel Prison bit. That boss fight against Dyne took me quite a few attempts back in the day, due to me not properly equipping Barret.

San Andreas has one as well but not the one most people hate. For me, it's the mission where you and Cesar have to drive out to the countryside to take photos of the enemy leaders. My disc had a scratch on it so refused to progress past this and my PS2 would make a grinding sound trying to do so. My 14 -year old minds "attempt" to fix it involved hitting it with a torch and after about a week, some of the PS2 fans snapped and it never was the same. Got a slim a few months later for Christmas but, to this day, that mission reminds me of bad times.

Bad times that were entirely my own fault, but still- bad times.

Currently going through Darksiders. Amazing game and massively underrated. That being said....the Dark Rider trophy is a real killer.

Ride for 100 miles on the horse when the only way to get it is to rubber band the pad and let it run in a circle for over 2 hours. I just got this out of the way and went off to watch some vids, went shop, came back and it had finally popped. What a real waste of time that was. Can't believe they chose to leave that in for the remastered version.

Edit

Let me just add Battle Hardened for the same game. Jesus this dev team didn't have a clue when it came to the trophies.

Is there a section of a game I hate going through? Long loading screens.

A recent game-specific example is from Cyber Shadow. The game is quality stuff: gameplay is a lot of fun, the graphical style and the soundtrack is pure awesomeness. But the last section where you have to pogo jump your way up a tower while being pummeled with projectiles from all sides was just plain annoying. I somehow couldn't consistently pull off the pogo jump so it became one of the rare games I've ever had a mini rage fit for.
