Which is better, Playstation trophies or Xbox achievements?

In my opinion, i would say Playstation trophies. Xbox achievements are too complicated.

They are basically the same thing.  However, since this is PSNP I am guessing the majority is going to say trophies.

I feel like that coming from a PSN trophies based website that most opinions here will have a bias towards PSN trophies. They're basically the same thing except that PSN has platinum trophies.

Xbox, unfortunately, has no equivalent when you get all main game trophies. If Xbox had something like an "ultimate achievement" then they'd be exaclty the same.

Before i was on ps3 i got to 50,000 gamerscore and let me say its just a bunch of numbers it gets confusing and mixed up.

i don't really care much, i only have a ps3 but if i own a 360 / XBONE i'll still gonna collect Achievements for their exclusive's

 

i just hear most of the time that the Playstation trophy system is more detailed and easy to understand plus it have the platinum awards if you collect every single trophy which Xbox's lacks.

I feel like it's Trophies because of the obvious Platinum, Some platinums look cool & that's a exclusive image for PSN. Also if your one of those people that likes to be proud of your progress U can at least just say "I'm a Lv__" instead of saying "I'm a 37,630 player"

Trophies are cooler and easier to compare due to platinum and xbox just has numbers which are boring.

Xbox achievements are cool, but the main thing that annoys me is that there's no real reward for fully completing a game; you can get like 790 or something and then do what I do; say you can't be screwed getting the rest of the achievements because there's no platinum equivalent.

 

Trophies are, in my opinion, a much better system. The platinum system in particular is awesome; and there's still an overall progression with the 'level' system (e.g. lvl 13, 34%).

They're pretty much the same thing. I'd say trophies barely eek out as "better" simply because I like the idea of the platinum, but on the other hand Xbox had achievements since the beginning so every game has them, unlike the PS3.

I feel that trophies have the advantage because of the tiered system (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) - the cool thing about it is, is that you can quickly glance at the total number of the four different trophy classes and quickly know if someone is a completionist (a lot of platinums at their current trophy level) or if they just play a lot of games (lots of bronze trophies, almost no platinums), and those are just two of many examples of easily spotting the kinda gamer someone is. There is also the platinum trophy, which unlike the achievement system, instantly tells other people how many games you have completed without them having to go to your list of games and start counting. 1,000 points in a game on Xbox could simply mean you got most of the main game achievements and also played DLC for that game too.

 

I'm actually kinda shocked and disappointed that Microsoft hasn't been updating the achievement system and make a "platinum equivalent", they've also been messing it up (getting achievements for watching TV shows?) I know that doesn't give you points, but it adds to your achievement count which would bother me because it would inflate my achievement count, not allowing me to watch any TV shows on my console...

I play on Steam and on Sony consoles, and used to play on Xboxs, but nothing feels more rewarding and gratifying than getting a platinum trophy.

Trophies look nicer and more organized. The only thing I like about achievements is that every game on 360 has them.
