The Giant Killer Sidequest Glitch

I'm trying to complete The Giant Killer side quest but the final one (the Root Golem) never spawns. I've tried sleeping in a bed for like five days but that didn't work either. Has anyone else run into this problem? Really hoping I'm not screwed over completely

I've pretty much run into every possible bug in this game but this is news to me. Didn't happen to me in 2 fatesworn playthroughs. 

 

You have a save from before accepting the quest ? Try reloading.

Maybe port in and out of the area a few times ? Or do some other side mission ? 

Maybe try killing a Root Rolem on Gallow's End ?

 

Edit - You sure you didn't accidentally kill the Root Golem and sold the proof before taking the quest ?

So I figured it out, I had already killed the root golem in a previous quest. The quest marker was pointing to where it's loot sack should have been only it wasn't there. So I went back to a previous save and thank God the pack was there. I lost a few hours of playtime but better than having to start over!

I seem to also have run into a different bug. My quest is at "Return to Brogan MacQueen, but he is not where the marker is. I've tried reloading. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if this is just a bug.

I had a few of those happen during some quests in Fatesworn. I did other quests and slept inbetween and then a few days later it would work for me. Can´t remember if this was one of those quests or not though..
