Popular Post CptToffer
Ahoy everyone, Over the last few days I've been contacted by a handful of people who have noticed I've made progress with the Starfighter-related trophies and asked for help on what methods I've used. I'm going to chuck everything I did in one post. I was considering some sort of guide for these specific trophies but I'm relatively new and don't want to step on any toes. The guides for this game are spot on and helped me get virtually the whole way there but here's some bits I found along the way to help. As requested, I'll only stick to the Starfighter-related trophies although if anyone has any questions about how I achieved other ones I'm happy to share. General Advice I'm no pro pilot - far from it. You just need a bit of patience with some of the trophies (such as multi-tasking) whereas others you can do and then forget about the specific challenge (such as The Interceptor). Upgrading star cards is a must so if you feel like you're not getting anywhere, back off and just play Starfighter Assault (SA) for a bit and get used to dog fighting and level up your craft. You'll only need to work on the cards for Fighters and Bombers. You don't really need an upgraded Interceptor unless you're struggling with that specific trophy. Finally, play SA for all of these. Don't bother with Galactic Assault as it will take too long and (HvVSF) is pretty dead at this stage or has been for me at least whenever I've played. Take advantage of those triple XP (Wednesday) and double XP (weekend) events. They really help get your cards leveled up. Fast Respawn Events (Monday) - This is very helpful for Multi-tasking trophy. Don't get dismayed! There are some high level, decent pilots out there but there are also plenty of people trying to find their feet or leveling up their cards. I've defeated both and so can you! Here we go then: Outbound Flight - Win a match in SA. Relatively straightforward and will come via natural play. Ignore Your Instincts At Your Peril - Basically target twenty-five objectives in SA. Again, will come via natural play. Attackers will have key objectives to hit and (I think) you don't have to get the last shot in for it to register. It's more if you did a certain amount of damage. So get those attacking runs going and pump the objective full of red hot laser death. Furthermore, defending teams will have waves of opposition bombers they can destroy. This is usually the easiest way to get this trophy as I (again think) they counted towards this. It has been a while since I did this one to be honest but it isn't a massively tricky one. The Interceptor - Get 20 Killstreaks with Interceptor ships. Simply put, defeat at least two enemies without dying, twenty times. The Interceptors are my least favourite ship because they're relatively fragile and if you're fighting anything with any armour, it's a pain. That being said as with a lot of these, AI kills count so this isn't the toughest trophy. Get it done first in my opinion, because if you can handle the little Interceptors zipping all over the place, you''ll be fine in the other craft. The Bomber - This is the first of two more frustrating trophies for SA. As the guide suggests, upgrading the following Star Cards (Targeting Computer, Advanced Torpedoes and Advanced Target Lock) will assist greatly. Around Level 12-14 is when you should have enough points to upgrade all the cards level 3 out of 4, which helps a great deal. Again, A.I opponents count so you don't need to spend ages trying to shoot down player-controlled ships. Stay away from Hero Ships due to their health. Just focus on Fighters,Bombers and Interceptors. You'll likely need to soften them up a little first to start wracking up the kills. Multi-tasking Good lord. Right, this is the second of the more frustrating trophies. Certainly some trial and error involved but I managed to achieve this about an hour ago. So... Play SA and not Heroes vs Villains Starfighter (HvVSF). The latter mode is pretty dead and not the most efficient way to go about this. The method for Heroes vs Villains is to crash your ship to then re-spawn as a Fighter and have a crack at the remaining HvVSF ships. However there are a number of issues with this aside from the mode lacking players: - It's teams of four so you're limiting your pool of ships you can attack - Everyone on your team is going to be gunning for them and you need to get that crucial final shot to register the kill (Assists won't count) - You're in a relatively under powered ship by comparison to the opposition team. Furthermore, by doing SA and not HvVSF you'll be leveling up your cards, even if you don't get the kills, whereas the benefits of HvVSF are minimal at best. In SA, crack on with the battle as normal at first and every so often, check the scoreboard to see if anyone on the opposition team has spawned as a hero ship. You'll notice the different symbol next to their name. Once you've got that, head to get them and get involved. Don't ease off until you "think you're ready or powerful enough". You want to be learning the speed, turning capabilities and health of each ship. Yes, initially you're going to struggle to take down the Falcon or Slave 1 because it will be like trying to smash a brick with a tub of jelly but you need to get involved regardless so you can level up. Don't fly around aimlessly looking for the specific ships because unless you're close enough you just won't see them. Make a mental note of the player name on the scoreboard and then look out for those. The cards you'll want to level up are primary weapon damage, torpedo damage and Fighter Weapon System. Don't worry about upgrading health, engine or anything else. We're going for raw hurting power here because most of these things won't be able to hurt you while you're attacking them and you need to just do your best to not get killed by a third party in the process. You're looking for "Hero Ship Defeated" to appear once you've killed one. Your kills will get stolen, it's the nature of it but just keep going. You're looking for 1-2 kills per game. I think my best was four but mostly it's going to be 1-2. In terms of what ships to attack, they're all fair game. However, I will say that Yoda's Ships is small, faster and powerful so I never bothered going after it. It was like an Interceptor on steroids. Darth Maul's Scimitar on the other hand is like a big floating hunk of junk and if you see that flying around, make it a priority. That's pretty much it, I think. There's probably nothing in there that is particularly revolutionary but it isn't 'hard', just frustrating but once you get the ships leveled up a bit, it becomes quite fun. I'd say for the Bomber, you want to get to around Level 10-12 and the Fighter 12-14. I found the Multi-tasking trophy became easier when the cards I had equipped were all ranked green. Happy to explain anything further. Hopefully that has helped someone!
Sofa King
Multi-tasking is the only one I have left to do. I just am not a fan of starfighters so sticking with it is my biggest issue. Might just have to make another go of it. Thanks for the tips!

At some point I had to force myself to play at least 1 hour per day or I knew I'd never finish it. In the end it wasn't so bad, but this comment reminded me of the "good" times. gladiatorrrrrrr
@CptToffer thanks! Super helpful tips. It gives me enough motivation to restart this part again. Like you , I am not a good pilot. Will take this step-by-step approach.
TuttiFuknFruity
I'm pretty awful at flying, played for 3 hours and only got one kill on the hero fighters. This is going to be the worst trophy I've ever tried to get lol. Don't know if I have it in me to do it.
GUDGER666
Not worth it imo especially now. MP has never been good with how unbalanced it is, but now it's mostly high level players, teams and teams who just spawn trap you from my experience. It's not hard at all it's just time consuming and luck based. I enjoyed the campaign and i like the co-op, but the MP and Plat ? CptToffer
It's honestly not too bad. You do need to commit some hours to getting your star cards to a decent level but once you've done that, it's just about getting some practice in.
majo334
I know this is an older thread but i'm currently trying to get those Starfighter trophies done, right now working on the Interceptor trophy, and while i do understand everything, i have insane trouble with the controls. Whether i am increasing sensitivity or lower it, going from 15 to 35 or even 50, i can't seem to aim well with the ships. Practice, yes, but i have this feeling in my gut something with the settings plays a key role. What sensitivity are you guys playing on? I'm talking about the Starfighter one, i think its called Response Curve. Is it only the Interceptor that makes controls so bad or am i missing something? redrooster24
Thanks for the guide, almost done with it only need to kill 2 more heroes. One thing I would add for Multi Tasking is go for the objective when you're on offence. You'll get a lot more points that way to level up until the heroes show up. I do think it's a little easier to kill the heroes when you're on the defence since they'll focus on the objectives and ignore you a little more. Killing heroes until you're level 15 is hard, so levelling up as fast as possible might be your first goal. I mean if you see a hero, sure try to kill it, you might steal the kill from someone else! TheBlaskar
i got 5 in one game of HvVSF last night... but it took as much time to get a full game going so I guess there's a trade-off there
