crowizard
Hello, I saw this game about a half year ago on youtube and thought it was fun. Judging by the rarity i would say it is very hard or this is also one of the case where rarity doesnt reflect true image. From what I see getting decent coop partner is key. Are other solo requirements also hard? Maybe i pick up this one some day when i find good partner and stable internet. Currently trying to platinum Splasher for #100 and came really close. Hey, I haven't got the 100% for badland yet, but the reason this game is so rare is because it lacks online coop. You don't only need a decent coop partner to start with, you will have to do everything coop-related either in local coop with a buddy, or via shareplay, which in turns means that you need to deal with lag, etc... Although I know of people that did everythig coop-related solo with two controlers simultaneously, but also admitted to have spent many many hours on some of the harder levels. As for the solo stuff. It's really not that hard. I would say 5-6/10, very manageable and should take 35-40 hours, even though the rarest single-player trophy sits at 0.11%. Splasher is definitely much harder, or so I found ? That's also a game where the rarity doesn't show how hard it is. Regardless of all of that, I find Badland to be quite fun to play in short sessions. Edited January 16, 2022 by Arcesius
Popular Post TheNightFox225
i haven't gotten the 100% yet either, but @xenomorfi2 and I are writing a guide for the game and it shouldn't take too long so hopefully that'll answer people's questions in the future. Also @Arcesius some of your mission guides on youtube have been really helpful so thanks for that Edited January 18, 2022 by TheNightFox225

I hope to one day get a co-op partner. On topic, Arcesius said 5-6/10 but I don't agree, especially the missions in Doomsday levels that were a real hell, there are also specific trophies involving saving 2 Clones, or God Status. I'd give it an 8/10, but coming from a guy who has some gaming heavyweights under his belt, the rating given is understandable.

I'm also in need of a co-op partner because my brother is horrible at the game ? wanna do it over shareplay?

LuckySlime
Hardest thing in this game imo is finding a coop partner ? coop last thing I have left lol I haven't really made much progress on coop in a year cos I need a coop partner for the remainder of my levels still

However, @crowizard mentioned that he is playing Splasher in the OP, which has a guide rating of 9/10 here on PSNP. Having played both gamesmyself, and if we go by that rating, then finishing Badland single player trophies really cannot be rated higher than 5-6/10, since Splasher is just much, much harder. I think in context, the rating makes sense But it's not what I'd use for a trophy guide, that's for sure. Lord_Bane999
So is this game obtainable? I thought for sure for a long time this game was unobtainable due to some bugged trophies or something.

It has always been obtainable, but there is one coop-mission (collecting all power-ups in Sticky Bounce) that was long thought to be impossible. But a while ago a method was found to complete that mission, and there are now both strategies to do so coop, or even with only one player. Popular Post Eqill5
I’ll echo was @Arcesius has already covered in that it’s rarity comes down to a number of factors, but most of all is down to having no option for online co-op. Unless you know someone irl that is willing to play everything with you, you will have to resort to using Share Play. Share Play however, comes with its own host of issues. Only the host of the party will make progress in the game and earn trophies as a result, meaning to do everything in SP with a friend and to both earn the platinum trophy, you have to do it all twice. That’s 100 levels, 3 missions per level, 300 missions x 2 = 200 levels and 600 missions. Finding a committed co-op partner is key to success here but it also boils down to your connections. Myself and @Jasko_SOA used the above method and even though I live in Scotland and he in Austria, we suffered from very little lag, fortunately! For a while Badland was considered impossible due to the fact that in the level Sticky Bounce there’s a power up out of reach in between two saw blades. On the Android version of the game there’s a large gap between them making the power up no hassle to reach. Playing normally, there’s a large power up before you reach this section which in turn stops you being small enough to go between the saws. Until @Floriiss found a method to drag and throw the large power up through to the next area, allowing you to collect everything. This is perfectly do-able both co-op or solo (I personally did it solo). The difference looks like this: As far as difficulty goes, it’s for sure above average when you start to delve into the Day II and Doomsday missions. Some of them can be a real pain and require many attempts, especially the ones that require both players to stay alive or save X amount of clones. @Jasko_SOA and I had a good (nervous) laugh when we struggled on one of the earliest missions wondering what we’d gotten ourselves in for, and jokingly assumed this was the point in which most people give up ? For anyone curious, level 3 to be precise. Save 7 clones. This looked easier than it was because everything around you is sticky and you can’t escape your clones if you touch the walls. Good luck with this @Arcesius and @Mori! It’s best to familiarise yourself with the levels, you have to play through them before the missions are revealed anyway, so take this time to check on the power ups in the level. Can you avoid the big ones? It’s easier to be small. But don’t forget sometimes you need to stay larger to move certain objects that are in the way. Speed ups? Avoid avoid. It’s easier to control the slower you go. But don’t forget, sometimes you have to outrun moving saw blades and need to be faster. Multiple power ups and clone pick ups on screen? Have a plan in place for who gets what, don’t waste time both going for the same things. Etc etc. It’s all information that will come to you whilst playing. Some levels also gift you the ability to save many more clones than what are required, it’s best to use this to your advantage that way you don’t have to save more on the more difficult levels. I’ll post my clones saved from each level later today, this will give anyone playing a rough idea on where are good places to save more, and where’s acceptable to save bare minimum. I’m pretty sure this was included in PS+ many years ago which would have also played a part in its rarity. I’d encourage anyone wanting to play this to not let the extremely low rarity put you off. Start by finding a co-op partner, the closer you live to each other the better. I had tons of fun with Badland, it’s unlike anything I’d played before. The atmosphere is really cool and ominous, especially as you transition through from dawn to night. And the background art is really something great, I remember reading it was all hand drawn. I hope my tips and information might prove useful to anyone playing or on the fence about starting. If anyone ever has more questions I’d be happy to help where I can!

However this game looks very good and might pick up in near future, it doesnt seem too hard judging from the comments but definitely require time and good partner. I dont have local buddy, so i guess shareplay is only option. But knowing my connection strength by heart I dont have good feeling it will be playable. On the other hand I would give Splasher 10/10 in terms of difficulty. Yes guide says 9/10 but @Smzthyy completed some very hard games so maybe in his eyes it is 9/10. I rated Super Meat Boy also 10/10 and I feel Splasher is way harder. Gave 10 to Street Fighter IV also due to insanely hard trials and determination on a small DS3 controller. Wolf 2 can also go on that list.

ExoriaCEO
I would rate Badlands as 8/10 or 9/10. I don't like the game so much that I can play it for days nonstop. And even some of the solo levels were and will be a nightmare. Edited January 31, 2022 by iExoria
ExoriaCEO
Well.. i changed my mind. if you Include the struggle to actually find a Coop partner and doing everything Twice With Potential Input lag - its a 10/10 in my opinion. Furthermore, in case you have not found this out yet, there is an option in the PS4 party chat with which you can increase the game quality/reduce the lags. @Eqill5 Do you remember what this was called exactly mate?
