PS4 System Update breaks Playstation Plus?

84 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

So I just this second installed latest PS4 System Update because I want to play Elden Ring with the latest patch (which also came out today)

So trying to start Elden Ring it says it can't find Playstation Plus. "Could not verify Playstation Plus Subscription"

PS+ is available on the dashboard, so I tried downloading this month's games (I have none) from the store

I was able to grab "Team Sonic Racing" but then it never starts downloading, just stays at 0%.

I tried restarting my PS4 and it's still the same.

Anything weird happened to anyone else?

[edit]

Ok, it might just be an Elden Ring issue....

Affecting a lot of people. I'm on PS5 and cannot connect. Says I need ps+ to access feature. Looks like a ps+ error. My mate has the same problem.

Affecting my mate on PS5 too so not just a PS4 issue....

FromSoftware telling us to git gud and stop playing in coop then, I guess? lol

Look on the bright side! I can still play Elden Ring as it's not riddled with game breaking DRM shite

Big wave and greets going out to Gran Turismo 7 fans!

Same issue here for Playstation Plus. I can't upload saves. Can't connect online for Returnal or GTA V.

On PS5 I can't access either the PS4 or PS5 PS+ Cloud. But on PS4 it works.

Side note: I can't access Fall Guys multiplayer on PS5 cause the System tells me that "the new systemsoftware isn't recognized". GG Sony :D

I had already updated my PS4 before seeing this thread (I don't own a PS5), and after a quick check I was able to upload a save to the cloud, but I wasn't able to access FC5's Arcade mode while I was able to before the update. It now redirects me to a page wanting me to buy PS+. It still shows I have an active subscription on my PS4 though. I didn't check to see if I could download any PS+ games though.

The online is borked in virtually every game I have tested but at least I can still upload my saves. I'm also having issues reading and deleting notifications and messages.

Was going to ask about this and just saw this post on the main page so it's already answered. When I launched Elden Ring today it said I didn't have a subscription yet I activated a 365 one on 13/06/2021. Hope they fix it soon.

Yeah, the same thing is happening to me on PS5. I made the mistake of extending my subscription, which did enable me to continue playing online. However, when I switched to a different game, it prompts me to purchase PS Plus again.

Problem everywhere,  I have been trying to select quick matches and private matches in Friday the 13th on my PS4, but they are greyed out. Happened just after the recent PS4 update.

I'm really happy i still have the old version on my ps4 and can play Fall Guys online.

Hope they fix this soon and don't force more people to install the update until after they fixed the problem

It wasn't the update that caused it. Before I updated the PS5, I couldn't upload saves or play any online game.
