Popular Post YaManSmevz
Update #8 8/1/22 Happy August, y'all! Another decent month in the books! Spent a lot of time with more non-Challenge stuff, but I'm happy with my progress. Super Time Force Ultra was an incredibly addicting game, and I completed it a bit sooner than expected. It is absolutely not without its tricky moments, but it's nowhere near the difficulty level that its many URs would suggest. Just a great, chaotic, side scrollin, rewind-heavy, bullet hell lovin time! Also completed Old Man's Journey, which I gotta say fit the bill as a solid chill out game. The puzzles are very light, it looks cute, and the story is engaging. There's a lot I wish I could reference but I'd hate to spoil anything. You could beat this in a couple hours easily (I chose to space it out over a few days) so if you're in the market for something a lil more laid back, I'd definitely recommend this one! One more month to go, and one game left, Guacamelee 2. Genuinely excited to re-visit Juan and his native Canadian Mexico! It's notoriously harder than its predecessor so I don't wanna speak too soon, but if it goes well I may end up going back to the well and seeing if there's another indie game I been trying to get at. Anyway, final month! We gonna kill it, y'all? 1. Transistor ️ 2. Salt and Sanctuary ️ 3. Stick It to the Man! ️ 4. Guacamelee! ️ 5. Unmetal ️ 6. SOMA ️ 7. Flipping Death ️ 8. TMNT: Shredder's Revenge 9. Old Man's Journey (0-->100%) ️ 10. Super Time Force Ultra (0-->100%) ️ 11. Guacamelee! 2 (0%)
Popular Post DFuzed
So the month is over and after surviving a long weekend with family (including 10 children under the age of ten!) I realized it was time to do a monthly update on the games I have played this month and to really notice how the amount of games I had planned for this month was way too much for the way I play them. Not sure why i thought I would need that many outside of the Vita games, and, even then, what motivated me to have so many was way beyond what I should have planned for. But C'est la vie and such. And before I get distracted by other things, I should do my monthly game update: The Order 1886: This game was so disappointing when played but I could see the potential in it from the get-go. And the might-have-beens for what it could have been to make it better will always be a what if. What if it was a open world? What if there was huge customization options? Or a much longer story even. But there aren't these so we are stuck with a basic game that I finished in a couple days with the longest part being the loading of the game (was at my parent's place and their internet connection was abysmal that week). Telling Lies: I have always been intrigued by games that used live video to as a part of the experience and a game a friend played years ago that used live characters that were in an interview-like archive program was an interesting way to tell a story. So when I saw this game I wanted to play it. Got the story done and couldn't get the plat because it involved seeing 170 videos and i was stuck at 169 for a year. It took over a year to have someone to finally give me the word I needed to get that last video and viola. And to give you an idea of how much I like these types of games, I'm considering getting the latest game of this type. Life is Strange: Before the Storm: As much as I hate to admit it, I am glad I'm done with this game. Don't get me wrong; I love this series but I never really enjoyed the BtS as much as I did the other games. Maybe because it was a prequel and didn't have the options the other games had for endings or I didn't like some of the new characters. Maybe because the main character didn't have an ability (although I suspect that the other female protagonist might have one). Maybe because they couldn't make enough chapters compared to others in the series. Or maybe a combination of the above. All I know that I wanted to get through it at times yet savour it at others. And i didn't go straight to trophies at times, mostly to play the two D&D sessions they had in the game. So have to wait until they announce the next game in the series or the re-do the second game in the series. Gaps by POWGI (PS5): Another of my cheap trophy games. It was a nice diversion but it didn't force me to think super hard about the answers and did just enough to get all trophies, where I didn't finish all the puzzles outside the required ones and the required amount. I got this and a couple other versions of these games to play on the PS4. Slay the Spire: Still enjoying this game on the side, usually late at night as a way to unwind and doesn't require lots in the term of my undivided attention to it compared to other games that I play. Now granted there are many games I play that allow me to pause and do other things but there are other games where not paying attention to it, having my controller dying at a bad time or getting distracted by someone can cause issues. The RNG in this game is nasty as usual but I still have gotten some progress done. The latest being having 10 buffs on my character at once between relics and cards in my deck which, admittedly, took some effort to get perfectly. Trying to beat the secret boss in the game lately, only to last maybe 3 rounds before my ass is handed back to me. Hasn't deterred me from not playing this game and, as I might have said elsewhere, until something else catches my eye that makes me want to play it more than this, I will still be working on it. The trophies might not come as fast as they were before but the work will be there. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-reckoning: Almost done with this game, with, as of today, only have to finish the Teeth of Naros Storyline and find the lorestones to finish and plat the game. Was hoping that getting the stones in both of the DLCs would negate the ones I missed in the game itself but no luck there. So going to finish the story then go back and find the missing stones. Was also hoping to have this game done before the end of the month but that too didn't happen. It won't take long but I really wanted it to be done beforehand so I could start fresh this month. Game-wise I have enjoyed the game. My goal to do every quest was shattered when one of the NPCs died from enemies and it was a permanent death that I wasn't going to go back several hours of game-play just to do. Also failed a quest without realizing it and was too late to fix. So just soldiered on and finished the game doing as many as I could. Glad I played this game again and not sure what i will do if they re-re-release this. Pic-a-Pix Colour 2 (Vita): Like Gaps above, I got a couple versions of these games to play on my main consoles but I need some Vita games to play when I travel and cannot bring the console with me. I expect to finish this game by the end of the month since I will have to travel at least once more one of these weekends. I might even use the other Vita game on my list as well. But the game itself hasn't been hard, just tedious as it involves getting a medal on every puzzle, which means no mistakes can be used. So lots of placing colours in blocks, doing a quick check, then finding any mistakes made. Usually it's easy to find but sometimes I need to delete multiple blocks until I find the mistake. Not so hard on the easier puzzles but will be more of a pain when getting to the larger ones. Just going to take time to do these and sometimes that's all I got when away from home. And that's it for this month. I am planning to be a part of the next challenge but need to figure out which games I want, now that I subscribed to the Premium Plus that came out recently. While I know that some of these games have trophies attached to them, I'm not sure if all of them do. If certain games come with trophies in them I'll be playing those. If not, I'll have to figure out what games I will be playing. As it is, all I have are ideas which will be reflected in my choices. My final list will me setting those choices in stone obviously. But that's it for now and I'll se everyone next mon....oh look, butterfly! *quickly runs away*
Popular Post freddie1989
Yeah I've been shoddy in this challenge with my updates but to be fair I've not the progress I pictured. Far Cry 6 has been my July focus and ive loved it as always. Taken my time just enjoying what it has to offer. Great gameplay and story. Grinding out the remaining pieces towards the plat and then will grab DLC at some stage. Hoping to make a start on Mass Effect at some point in August but will probably roll that over to next challenge anyway. As always, happy hunting people!! Popular Post rcrharvick
Update for 8/2: Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe - 26% Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando (Vita) - 5% The Last of Us: Remastered - 54% => 79% Assassins's Creed 2 - 0% LEGO Batman 3 (PS3) - 100 % Sly 3 (PS3) - 100% The Saboteur - 100% Dirt 5 (PS4) - 100% LEGO Incredibles - 100% The Walking Dead Season 1 (PS4) - 0% FINALLY!!! I finished The Last of Us night on survival and popped my platinum. Took way longer than anticipated. I'm gonna finish the Left Behind DLC then move onto Walking Dead Season 1. Should hopefully knock that out easily by this weekend. Then I'm gonna hit AC2. As much as I wanna swap it for something shorter, I NEED to get it off my backlog after all these years (see my initial post for the story behind this one). R&C2 and AVGN could end up being swapped, all depends on how long AC2 is taking. I'm gonna be gone on vacation all Monday-Thursday next week so that could really hurt my progress except for R&C possibly. I've also been playing Fall Guys and got the 5 wins in a row trophy, started a NASCAR Heat 5 league with my friends (made an awesome points tracking spreadsheet), and have 10 days to grind out KZ Mercenary matches before the servers close. So I definitely have my hands full this month. Will probably not do the fall challenge, but could be back for Winter/Spring. Happy Hunting!!

Popular Post Heather342
Update 10 Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend ?. I've been keeping up the pace with my remaining challenge games, and I've made significant progress. Team Sonic Racing has been where most of my time was spent, finishing off the adventure mode challenge stars and keys. The key objectives actually weren't as difficult as I thought they would be, and most of the challenge races with a bit of practice were doable. The last traffic attack race in chapter 6 though.... that can absolutely get in the sea! It was so frustrating, and the number of times I was about to go through the last checkpoint gate only to run out of time or for the hit box on the stupid robot saying I crashed ???. Was so relieved when it was finally over! After that it was finishing the races on hard and expert mode. The single races for these were fine, as you only have to finish 1 of the 3 different star objectives for it to count as a completed race. The difficulty comes in on the Grand Prix races. There's 6 to complete across the adventure mode, with 4 tracks in each GP and your team has to place 1st overall for it to count. As you can probably imagine, relying on your AI team mates to do consistently well in 4 back to back races is not great, so there were multiple restarts here ?. Luckily you can use bonus boxes to give yourself extra advantages like extended boost power or prolonged team ultimate ability, but it also boils down to some luck and RNG. I managed to finish this game today, overall I'd say this is an average kart racing game. I like that there's variation between the team races and the challenge levels, although some of these can be frustrating, and I liked some of the team mechanics of the game. However there wasn't as much variation in the races, a lot of tracks were recycled across the chapters or just used a mirror mode, so it got a little repetitive near the end. Also the difficulty and time rating on the posted guide is waaaaay off. If you do decide to go for it, bare in mind that the game is more difficult than how the guide portrays it. I was also working on Operation Tango during the week. The hubby and I would work through 2 missions per gaming session when we played together. So we managed to finish our first playthrough, swapped roles and completed the missions again. With that we managed to get the plat yesterday ?. However, we still have the DLC challenge level to finish, so my summer backlog challenge isn't quite over yet! I don't expect it to take too long, so will probably have this one wrapped up in a few days ?. That's all from me, hope you're all smashing through your backlogs and making progress with your goals! ? Popular Post Zvetiki
Well, I'm not so good at planning ahead; I seem to have spent most of my playing time with Hearts of Iron III on the PC, freeing the world from the evil threats of communism and democracy. Also, my PS time was mostly devoted to an event on another trophy site. But enough with the excuses, on to the report. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a collection of two games in the Ace Attorney franchise, and my second bundle of the series after the original trilogy in the Spring event. While I already liked the original trilogy, this sequel is an overall improvement. The overarching story serves well to keep the cases together, and the streamlining of some key game mechanics improves the player's QoL greatly. The secondary cast is likeable and the adversaries are not too annoying. Recommended for anyone looking for a light-hearted and easy adventure game. I am currently near the end and have only some trophy mop up to do (which I can't do now because of the aforementioned event on the other site). The Tower of Beatrice is probably widely used as trophy fodder, like many Sometimes You titles, but it really is an actual, honest adventure game. Unfortunately not a very good one. In particular I found it not well adapted to the small Vita screen, and the control system is awkward and clunky. I can't speak for the puzzle quality because after some screens I decided to follow a walkthrough, but I have the feeling that they are not on the easy side. Puzzle fans might enjoy it, but probably more on the big screen (the PS4 control are not much better, though). I am currently sitting near the end (cannot complete until later this month, same reason as above). Adventures of Mana is my second swap for this event, replacing Tamashii. I never played the original Final Fantasy Adventures on the Game Boy, and this is my first entry into what became the Mana series. It's a quite easy Zelda like game, where the main difficulty is not posed by the combats, because the spawns pose no problems at all and levelling up for the bosses is easy. Instead, the problem is not getting lost. Thankfully, nowadays I didn't have to draw a map myself, as there are quite a few good maps available (the original FFA maps are still valid; I used the ones on Gamefaqs). The player should take care to plan ahead for some missable trophies (collectables and level cap); these, in particular the level cap trophies, prolonge the game by several hours of completely mindless farming, unfortunately. Recommend for anyone looking for an easy kind of Zelda and with a tolerance for farming. Flatland Prologue is apparently considered an easy platformer: The walkthrough on this site assigns it a difficulty of 2/10, in line with other sites. I have no idea how such a rating could be justified; if this is a 2/10, you must be some minor god of platforming. Granted, I completely suck at platformers, but even comparing like with like I found it harder than, e. g., Teslagrad. Anyway, I managed to not throw my controller into the screen and actually finish it. At least it's short. Phew. * Song of Memories PS4 (100%) * Flatland Prologue PS4 (32% → 100%) * Adventures of Mana PSV (1% → 100%) * The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles PS4 (0% → 75%) * The Tower of Beatrice PSV (12% → 72%) * Code: Realize ~Future Blessings~ PSV (0% → 5%) * Final Fantasy XIII-3: Lightning Returns PS3 (10%) * Tamashii PS4 (1%) Swaps used: 2/3.
Popular Post KimBongUn420
Update 7: It's been a hot minute since I've posted (almost a month!) but I'm finally back from work travel and in the home stretch of finishing out this challenge. #152: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands [PS5] Difficulty: 4/10 Grind: 5/10 Enjoyment: 8.5/10 This game was a lot better than I expected. It made some nice changes to the Borderlands formula while still preserving the core gameplay loop that the series is known for. It was also a reminder that as far as looter shooters go, the Borderlands series still outclasses everything else. As far as the series goes, I'd probably rank this game above every other game but Borderlands 2, but to be honest Borderlands 2 is still significantly better than this game in most aspects. Things I liked: the writing is far better than BL3, the final boss fight is the best in the series, the gun variety is still quite good, the loot luck mechanic is very well implemented. I think the classes are fine, but nothing special, although the ability to equip a main and secondary class is a nice change and leads to some much more interesting build paths. The graphics are good and the game didn't crash on me a single time. I also didn't have any issues with trophies, although I know some of them are bugged - I did, however, have the sidequest trophy unlock far earlier than it should have. By far the biggest thing this game does well is the endgame mechanics. The chaos levels and associated loot tiers are the best endgame the Borderlands series has ever had, and it's not even close. It wipes the floor with the TVHM/UVHM modes. I was really pleased to see this since the endgame has been criticized as the weakest part of Borderlands for forever. This kept me playing far longer than I needed to for the platinum (made it to Chaos lvl 37, the platinum only requires lvl 20) and I definitely will come back to the game from time to time when I've had a bad day and need to take it out on some poor unsuspecting skeletons. Things I didn't like: the DLC is hot trash. Unless you're a completionist, don't buy it and definitely don't pay full price for it. BL3's DLC looks like GOTY material compared to it. Some of the gear farming can be pretty tedious, especially for class mods. The runs that you use to level up Chaos also have hard DPS checks at some levels, which really throws off the progression. It was ultimately one of these DPS checks (Dryl at Lvl 37) that got me to stop playing and get back to my backlog. Speaking of that, while most of the boss fights have good, interesting mechanics, some of the boss fights suck hard, most notably Dryl (who the fuck thought it was a good idea to have a boss with a regen shield mechanic also be resistant to shock attacks) and Wastard (you cannot see the stupid add that regenerates his shield half the time bc the arena is the exact same color). Overall though, I had a lot of fun playing this and thought it was a solid effort. If you love Borderlands, you'll love Wonderlands, and if you haven't played Borderlands before, this might be the game that pulls you in. 8/10 Overall. Other updates: got through a couple more trophies in The Crew 2 Made it through the first 3 chapters of Life Is Strange: True Colors. I'm really enjoying this game, it's a nice return to form for the series - much better than the tire fire that was Life Is Strange 2. Plans for this week: Finish Life is Strange TC, work on The Crew 2. Aiming to have both of these done within the next 2 weeks, so I can spend the rest of the month finishing out Cyberpunk 2077. I might add the DLC for Stranger of Paradise if I have time, but we'll see since it's not required for the challenge. I also need to put my list together for the Fall/Winter event - I spent far too much money in the Summer Sale, so to keep my backlog from getting completely out of control I need to put in some work in the next challenge ?. List: Cyberpunk 2077 [PS5] - 42% Shenmue II (July 5) Life is Strange: True Colors [PS5] - 0% -> 55% Lost Judgment [PS5] (July 4) Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin [PS5] (July 3) My Name is Mayo 3 (July 3) Tiny Tina's Wonderlands [PS5] - 68% -> (Aug 4) The Crew 2 - 43% -> 51% Games Complete: 5/8 Trophies: 291/347 (83.9%) Edited August 7, 2022 by KimBongUn420

After that, I took a couple of days off from this challenge as I didn't feel the drive to play COD, and I ended up platinuming 2 of the EZPZ trophies I had in my collection in Jak II and Burly Men At Sea. I'll start cleaning up COD next week, but I am not looking forward to the fastest time in the Pit Trophy. I also played Final Fantasy 7 and got out of Midgard but the game is stingy with giving you trophies so I only got one for crossdressing since the last update (a missed opportunity, a trophy named "The Remake would be over at this Point" as the party leaves Midgard would be funny in my opinion).

Popular Post gruffiiti
I am late again with this update. Seems to be a recurring theme these days. Everybody's Golf Been making steady progress in this game for months now but the end is in sight. Just a few more vs characters to beat and finish filling the last gallery of NPCs to get the Full House trophy. Should have this done sometime mid-month if everything goes well. Deliver Us the Moon I was going to play this a few months ago but then heard a PS5 version was coming so decided to wait. It was worth it as it was a fantastic experience and I will for sure be getting the next game these devs are working on 'Deliver Us Mars'. Lake (added) Completed this game without any issues and enjoyed it for what it was. You meet some interesting characters along your mail route and in typical small town fashion your story seems to inter-twine with most of them somehow. Afterparty (swap) I had started a dozen games last Dec 31 with the goal of having to complete them all at some point throughout the year and this was one of those games. I had tried to get into it back in February but I couldn't get into it and found myself moving on to something else. I came across it again at the end of July and gave it another go. This time I had more fun with it and enjoyed the wacky story much more. 35MM (swap) I had been meaning to play this game for awhile so I decided to use a swap to get to this one sooner. It was a tale of two friends traveling across a countryside destroyed by a global epidemic. The few survivors left are just trying to scrape by... Lost Words: Beyond the Page (added) This became my weekend game this past weekend. It had some unique gameplay and the story was pretty good. Wish I had found this game before the Trophies for Mental Health event as I kept thinking this game would have fit perfectly. Everybody's Golf - 50% --> 78% Elden Ring - 100% Tera - 100% The Suicide of Rachel Foster - 100% Deliver Us the Moon - 0% --> 100% Lake - 9% --> 100% Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - 0% --> Afterparty - 1% --> 100% South Park: The Fractured But Whole - 1% --> 35MM - 0% --> 100% Lost Words: Beyond the Page - 0% --> 100% Swaps (3/3) Complete (8/9)
Popular Post Doctor Completion
Not to interrupt your awesome reporting of backlog progress, but I've got a question. Chime in if you want. Work sucks. It's ramping up this month, and the grind is real. I'm not sure if I'll be able to meet my backlog challenge goal. For you seasoned challengers out there, d'you ever get down on yourself for not meeting a challenge goal? Do you just suck it up and say it is what it is? I appreciate your take on this. Until then, I'll keep clicking that green up arrow for you all. Take care, friends..
Popular Post Hurricane_Tanya
I’m hopefully going to finish all games this month, we’ll see though. I haven’t really started inFamous Second Son yet, and the ‘Chatterbox’ trophy in Tomb Raider glitched out on me meaning another playthrough, but I’m still hopeful! - Tomb Raider - 38% >> 71% - SpongeBob SquarePants BfBB- 46% >> 100% - inFAMOUS Second Son - 1% - inFAMOUS 2 - 42% >> 54% - Islanders - 17% >> 100% - Stray -19% >> 100% Swaps used 2/3 So since my last update I’ve finished 2 more games. I wasn’t really sure what to expect from Stray, but I really enjoyed my time with it. I wish there were more puzzles and more stealth sections, there was a part later in the game that made me think of Beyond Good and Evil and I would have liked more of that. I won’t go into details though since it is such a new game. The atmosphere was wonderful, the game was short and sweet, a couple tricky trophies, but overall a good time. I did not enjoy SpongeBob as much. I have no nostalgia for the character and, although I love 3D platformers, I found this game to be frustrating in parts and boring in others. Also Sandy was much more fun to control than SpongeBob. Luckily the game was over pretty quickly. I was interested in buying the game at one point so I’m glad I got it on ps plus instead. I’m almost done with Tomb Raider (apart from playing a speed run for the chatterbox trophy). I’m level 48 in the multiplayer so that should be done soon too. It looks like I haven’t done a lot in inFamous, but most of the trophies will pop after I finish the story the first time. Then it’ll be a quick evil playthrough for the last few trophies. Good luck everyone in the last few weeks! @Doctor Completion I also get down when I can’t meet a goal/challenge. For the last challenge I ended up swapping in a couple easier games so I could finish it, but life is busy and as much as I love gaming, it’s not as important as other things

Sometimes life gets the better of us, so just give it your best shot. Edited August 8, 2022 by The_Head_Crusher

For that reason I try not to beat myself up too much about not finishing, but it still doesn’t feel right/good. I’m usually harsher on myself when I can’t do what I set out to do. However life just gets in the way sometimes and as long as one has their priorities straight and tried their best, I don’t think it’s something one should lose sleep over (especially when it’s a hobby). What I usually do is when I can’t finish my games I just keep on playing them after the challenge is over instead of dropping them that way it doesn’t feel as bad (Some people carry over their games into the new season if it still qualifies).

Personally I always set myself a list that's not doable, it's a terrible habit and I think I've only completed mine twice. What this does do is gives me a selection to stick to and enjoy rather than going back and forth with stuff.

It kinda sucks not achieving the goals I've set out but trophy hunting will always be secondary to my work, family and health commitments. Trophies/achievements add to my enjoyment and as a serious hobbiest I do invest a lot of time, thought and energy into trophies. I try to temper this with the perspective that at the end of the day they are digital tokens with value only understood by other gamers and not essential to enjoy the intrinsic pleasure of gaming and certainly low priority compared to real life stuff. I hope you feel better about not meeting your goal and found fun in the games you played and friends you made along the way This week I've had fun with Rimworld and Salt and Sacrifice. With the former it's beautiful to lose myself in a colony-sim/story generator, this will be one of the games I play long after getting the platinum I think Finally getting a bit deeper into the later after I leveled and then steamrolled the boss I was stuck at. This week more of the same but Im working 6 days in a row, 3 of those night shifts... so my gaming time and sleep pattern will topsy-turvey for a bit. Have a good week! I have beaten the campaign on Veteran difficulty. It was actually pretty easy for a Killzone game. Now I just have the special contracts and a few online Trophies left. Outside of that I spend a few minutes each day to the Rayman Legends Daily Challenges, but that's basically the only other distraction.
