So I'd like to jump onboard again if I may.

 

I'll throw a list together too. I'll try and keep to five until I complete five , then I will probably add more. I'll add God of War (2018) as I never actually got around to even starting that one during the Spring Challenge.

 

Oh and anybody that was onboard for the Spring challenge, I finished up Evoland and put the platinum to bed this evening. @KazaneHime, as you really enjoyed the original Evoland from what I remember you saying, I feel pretty safe in saying that you'll really dig Evoland 2, so it's worth getting the PS4 version (as it has 1 and 2 in it) for that alone I think. Where Evoland 1 is sort of a very cool proof of concept, Evoland 2 multiplies that concept by about twenty, and manages to fit a really quite interesting story around it too.

 

Like I said in my last post in the previous challenge, I won't probably start any games on this list, until I've finished Limbo, so I'll grab that final trophy, and then get cracking with this list. Looking forward to getting stuck in with those!

 

@YaManSmevz - hit on a pretty good point actually, and I might do a similar thing, and add some smaller Indie fare in amongst the big hitters. I figure if I do it that way, I could tackle a shortish game, and then have a little bit of time to have a delve into some of the games still on my backlog that have a completion too high to be eligible here, and still leaving me feeling like I'm making progress here too.

So far, I'm really digging Lost in Random. I played a bit of Nier JP this evening - soundtrack is so lovely, but I am already regretting not setting myself up with a most specific list of which quests to efficiently get through the game without much time wasted for the speedrun trophy...  Finishing off my Friday back with Lost in Random.

How do you like that Lost in Random game? Looks very interesting. I have it on my Wish List 😂

 

And yes, Nier's soundtrack is amazing. I think the guide has a list of the easiest quests. Also, if I remember correctly, there's a weapon at the beginning of act 2 that you can buy at the fishermen town, which it's powerful enough just to get you throughout the whole game. Amazing game though. Loved every bit of it. Unpopular opinion but liked the story better than Automata's 😌

Update #1

 

Changes from previous update in Bold, swaps since previous update in Purple, completed games in Blue, and additions to the list in Green.

 

To start with I’ve mostly been forcing all the 0% games onto my profile so I’m more committed to finishing them at some point. Hoping to raise my total completion percentage to over 70% for the first time by the end of the challenge. I won’t bother talking about the games I have barely started so that leaves the following 3

 

8. Lamentum 0% > 59%

 

I’m almost finished with my first play through, as it is blind I’m probably going to have to go through a more guided run for the more obtuse trophies afterwards. Think I will have a lot to say but I’m going to wait until properly finished, which I expect to be come update #2.

 

10. Mass Effect 0% > 35%

 

Despite a long history with the PS3 era and a great reputation Mass Effect is a series that I just never got around to. I picked up the Legendary edition when it went on sale some months ago and from what I’ve seen so far I’m quite impressed. It is clearly dated in its design, though I don’t mean that to be the criticism it sounds like. It is entirely strange to not have a quest marker being constantly present in the mini-map or compass in an RPG these days, and I’ve found that helps a great deal with learning the environments and actually reading the quest log to find out what to do next and (more importantly) why you are doing it.

 

I’d guess I’m roughly halfway through the story, but have been taking my time to do most of the side quests so as not to rush. Might be finished with this by the next update but I guess that depends if I’m estimating correctly how far through I am.

 

15. Teslagrad 0% > 100% 

 

To be perfectly honest this was on my list for an easy win. I had seen it come up in lists of “easiest PS Now Platinums” and was expecting a shoddy cheap game I could slog through for a couple of hours for a quick trophy boost. I’m not above doing so for games that come free with a service I already subscribe to, though I personally draw the line at paying for them outright.

 

Despite that though I was pleasantly surprised. Teslagrad is a puzzle platformer and while it would never give Celeste or Super Meat Boy anything to sweat over it is a perfectly competent effort. Boss design could be better, or just removed entirely (always think bosses in a game where you die in one hit are a bad idea). Each trophy is connected to a hidden scroll and a video guide is basically a necessity if you don’t want to spend hours looking for them. Even then though some of the platforming required to get them is pretty tricky. Be prepared for that if you try this one. Not a game I’ll remember for a long time, but a lot better than I was expecting.

 

By the next update I expect to be finish with Lamentum and Mass Effect and will probably be swapping Mass Effect 2 in for something!

I am really loving Lost in Random! The whole vibe of the game is rather charming and the combat is unique for sure. The narrator is probably one of the best I've had in a game.

 

Yea, I just need to make a list. When I played Nier Gestalt, I just did everything and had such a good time, but I am trying to efficiently go through the JP Replicant since its for another league competition I'm in as well. The story was rather unique. I wasn't prepared to get worked up on the second playthrough as much as I did. Automata was my first Yoko Taro game, so it will always have a place in my heart.
