Two versions of the game on the UK PS Store

Recommended Posts

One is called "Assassin's Creed Black Flag - Standard Edition" which is on sale right now for £4.79 and there is another one simply just called "Assassin's Creed Black Flag" and that is a priced at £7.19. Does any one know the difference between them and if so, is it worth paying for the slightly more expensive one?

Have you got links to the two versions? I’m only seeing the £4.79 (reduced from £15.99) version when I search on both the app and the store

Think these are what OP os referring to.

£7.49

£4.79

Likewise I cannot see any difference in the descriptions but would assume the more expensive one has some sort of DLC included.

Is this what you mean?

The only difference I'm seeing is one is a "Playstation Hits" version, which I didn't know even really existed digitally, and it still doesn't explain why there's two versions.

I've been noticing a few old (released around 2013-2015) PS4 games now seem to have two listings on the store for no discernible reason. Noticed this with Rogue Legacy just a little while back.

Edit: Just to add a little more info to this (not that it's particularly helpful), they both have the same license/product ID (CUSA-00009). There was indeed a physical Playstation Hits version which released around 2018 that also had the same license. So... they're literally the exact same thing. I want to say maybe they forgot to delist the original version after the Playstation Hits version released, but it's clearly on sale right now, same as the Hits version, so... I have no clue. All I can say is, I don't think there's any real differences between these versions, so you may as well get the cheaper option. The only thing I can think of that may possibly be different is the icon for the game on your dashboard may have the ugly red "Playstation Hits" logo on it, but I doubt. I've never actually gotten a Playstation Hits version of a PS4 game myself so I can't confirm either way.

Thanks! For some reason the AC4 listing just will not show up when I search for it…

Like you guys have already said, doesn’t appear to be any difference other than one being the “PlayStation Hits” version. They’re both the same CSUSA code and both offer the same list of add-ons which suggests there’s no DLC already included

One thing that does stand out is the £7.49 one has been previously listed on the store for free from 2017 to 2021.
