Finally thinking about trying this game....

How is this game? I'm curious for an opinion since I heard people say it "kinda" reminded them of Hades. Also I loved Hades as well I don't think anything can top it.

I wrote a review of it, specifically comparing and contrasting it with Hades quite a bit, as I got the platinums for both quite close together:

Personally, I loved both CotDG and Hades, but slightly preferred CotDG

It was sitting in my hard drive ever since it was the free game on ps+ last year, and after 5 hours of playing I've deleted it. I just couldn't get into it at all. I normally get a pretty good feel for if I'm going to enjoy a game early on, and this just didn't do it for me. I love rogue like games, but this one didn't feel like I was making any progression run to run. The buttons are counter intuitive, I'm so used to pressing circle to dodge or block that I kept taking hits, the combat felt very clunky, nothing was making sense in terms of "what does this thing even do, it's not made the game feel any different", not for me.
