Gaming for the Animals [EVENT HAS CONCLUDED]

I had completed another 2 animal games last week, SpongeBob HeroPants and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom.

 

Not need to explain much since all characters from this two games are sea animal. Yup, including Spongebob. 

Well, my next 2 votes still go to Tiger. 

 

Btw, I was today years old when I found out sponges are animal (I thought sponge was some sort of ocean plant or something lol)

I've now finished my fourth game, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. I'm normally a big fan of the R&C games, but this one was one of the weaker ones for me. I actually didn't realise it was going to be so short as well. Oh well, still not a bad game.

Seeing as I can't vote for the Lombax, I'll be giving another vote to the cute little African Wild Dog Pup

There's a rule regarding game length that would disqualify Frogo. It wouldn't be much of a community event if someone could buy a few dozen minute-plats to stuff the ballot box.

 

"If the player uses Autopop, OR if the fastest (not obviously Autopopped or cheated) time on the Fastest Leaderboard section is under 30 minutes, OR the 50th place on the 'Fastest Leaderboard' is under one and a half hours, it will not be counted."

Those are the ones that have been completed, ranging from games were you are the animal character, to having animal companions or with like Bayonetta you can transform into an animal.

 

A couple of games I know I will be doing for the event include 3 Lego games, Jurrassic World for the Dinosaurs, Force Awakens and Skywalker Saga since there are many different animal like humaniods including the walking carpet himself, Chewbacca. Of course there is the Crash Bandicoot games, Kingdom Hearts could be used due to most of the Disney heroes being animals themselves. I will also try and get Shantae completed too, she is a genie who dances and becomes different animals after a transformation.

I just platinumed my first game for the event, Spirit of the North, which was not only visually stunning, but a beautiful experience all around (and of course the little fox and his animations are literally cuteness overload), and I can safely recommend it to anyone who likes exploration / puzzles / visual storytelling.

 

But now for the hardest part of the event, which is to choose only one animal to vote for 😅 Well, for now anyway. I have adopted an orphaned African Elephant calf myself, so I'm a bit biased towards that choice, but then again I'd also like to go a different route this time, so... I guess my first vote will go to the African Rhino calf, since they're a critically endangered species as well.

 

As my next game for the event I will probably be playing Stray, just like everybody else and their mother, but oh well 😂

Hello once again!

 

Since I have Stray waiting on being claimed I thought I might as well add two of the games I have ready for the event. Catlateral Damage is the first game which has you going against a time limit in different buildings causing as much destruction you can with your little paws before having a nap and looking all innocent. The next game is Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered for the PS4, while it is called Remeowstered it is more of a Remake as it changes things up, makes the game look smoother and adds different features

 

Though both games are very easy to platinum they also fall in line with the event,

4 hours, 20 minutes is the quickest platinum time for Catlateral Damage

4 hours, 57 minutes is the quickest platinum time for Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered PS4 EU

 

Now then, I believe I owe @breakingthegreen some votes for a certain animal, so I will use these two votes for Capybara!

Anyway, Hello again friends I only just realised that 100%s counted towards votes, and I was wanting to use my VR today and I had a cheeky look at my VR backlog and found an overlooked gem The Curious Tale of Stolen Pets. Which as of writing just about manages to avoid the EZPZ time brackets, (even with me getting it completed in 1 hour 20 minutes, oops...)

 

 

A point 'n' click VR game which takes place in models of 5 dream dioramas of places you grew up in with your unnamed sister, who is a huge animal lover. Unfortunately, (for meta-spoilery reasons,) all the pets that once roamed each world have gone missing, and you are tasked by the disembodied voice of your grandfather to find them all. There's 23 to find including: dogs, rabbits, and octopodes (real plural). 

I wanna give special mention to the music which is composed by Wintergatan, with their well know Marble Machine song being the main menu music, but I also have a live rendition of the Aquarium level's music that you can all get your ears stuck into, it's real charming stuff.

 

 

As for voting, now I've been an ardent red panda lover, but I influenced @Sylvanticore too, hmmm... Since this game was no problem I'll vote for the Capybara on the easier games I complete, but red panda on the harder ones. So hopefully there'll be a vote for the red guys when I get that one speedrun trophy in Stray. And in case anyone was worried that this means I'm free from being influenced by Disney films for these votes, don't worry, Encanto covered them.

Well it’s been over a week and both games fit the rules so I’d like to submit Escape Academy in PS4 and PS5.

 

As far as votes, looks like there are a couple of runaways so my shark is out, but I still like an underdog so I’m gonna put my votes behind joining team Capybara.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

 

Here in the U.K it is now offically Tuesday, which means that a wonderful little game known as Stray is now a week old, so I think you know what time it is!

 

LET THE FLOODGATES OPEN!

 

Now then it's time to put in my next few games... holy crap that's 10 games now.

 

First up is the Playstation 4 version of Stray and Playstation 5 version of Stray . It has been a week now and looking at the quickest time for the Platinum it appears that 2hrs and 44 minutes is the fastest time, I do not see anyone getting much faster with the speedrun trophy and the 1hr real time sleep trophy.

What can I say about this game which has not already been said about this game by so many others out there, this is one of the few games I actually sat and played all day, which is very rare for me to do recently, I loved this game so much and I'll continue to play it for a while to come.

 

Secondly is the Playstation 5 version of Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered, if you haven't played this game yet it has you playing as one of many Kitties that wants to just destroy everything around it in different houses and layouts, it's basically a stress reliever game.

 

Now then... votes wise... 2 for Panda and 1 for the Great White Shark, in honor of @DoctorDrPepper

Important update, please read!

 

Hi guys! I'm back from the con and feeling pretty refreshed after a day's rest, so I've decided now is the best time to update everyone on a couple of things.

 

1) I've decided to put a deadline on the votes for new animals. What this means is that after August 8th you will no longer to be able to vote for any animal that does not already have a vote! I'm doing this to limit the amount of empty votes we have in the future, and I think the amount of animals that have votes is at a pretty good number right now, but this gives you guys some time to bring some new contenders into the fray if you so please

 

2) I have been asked if I am thinking about putting a limit on how many games you can complete for this event, and I think this is a good idea. We don't want the votes to be skewed on a single person's tastes, do we? So as of now you are limited to ten games (aka votes) for this event!

Happy Stray Day everyone! (It's Stray o' clock somewhere, right?)

 

I'm checking in with six new games, which by my count should put me right at the shiny new vote limit: Okami HD, Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure, Stray (of course), TOEM, Songbird Symphony, and Ghost Giant. Some are more obvious from the name than others, but they all fall under the umbrella of "the main character / most characters / all characters are animals." They all also fit pretty comfortably within the other requirements like completion time.

 

I'll be putting these last six votes towards the Leopard once again, because I still can't get over the WWF's outstanding choice of photo for it. For those who didn't see it on page 8:
