I think it didn't help that I played three relatively similar games so close together (Wytchwood, Summer in Mara and Kitaria) 

 

I was expecting it to be a little more like Cat Quest 1 and 2, which I adored

Third game done: Omensight. In a world full of anthropomorphic animals, you play as a godly avatar that teams up with an eagle, cat, rat or bear to solve the murder of an owl and prevent the end of the world through some sort of serpent god/higher being.

As a big fan of the manga Killing Bites, my third vote goes to one of natures most fearful animals: the Honey Badger.

Another game down, think this is my 4th one for the event? I've lost count already. Either way my next game is Sonic Mania. Fastest completed time is 41 minutes, 35 seconds (Personally I have no idea how you can get 100% so quick unless you're a Sonic master!) but the 2nd quickest was 2 hours, 55 minutes so I believe I'm in the clear for this.

 

Looking at what has been picked it seems like we have some run away winners at the moment, time to add some more to the table and give this vote to...

None other than the Hedgehog! I mean I did just complete a hedgehog game

Third game done: Final Fantasy XIII-2! Almost all of the game's monsters can be recruited as party members, and once you've unlocked the mechanic you'll always have one alongside you in battle. You also have a moogle companion throughout the game, which - whatever the heck it is - is definitely some kind of animal.

So how are we handling newly released games? I just platted the new game Escape Academy on PS4 and PS5. It has a level featuring Turmeric the Rat the class pet which is needed to finish a puzzle and has a cool big poster. Can I count it? Can I count it twice? It wasn't an autopop, however it was faster the second time because I knew all the puzzle solutions that time.

Not everything went according to plan, but I finally got the platinum in Okami. Great game, and of course, cute animals everywhere.

 

As much as arctic wolf would be a perfect choice for the event since Amaterasu is a white wolf, I pick panda. The site says there are only 1800 of them left. I heard part of the reason is how lazy they are. They just want to eat bamboo and sleep all day while not being so much concerned about making babies. Don't know what to say, something about that knowledge just makes me want to vote for them ?.

 

That's probably it for me for this event. But I'll stick around to see who wins. I'll likely write the Okami review in the "recent platinum" thread tomorrow. Check it in about 20 hours if you're interested.

 

So yeah, thanks everyone, and remember to pray to Amaterasu, origin of all that is good and mother to us all.

I finished Crazy Chicken Jump 'n' Run Traps and Treasures a few days ago. You play as a chicken so I'm pretty sure it should count for this event . If it does, I'd like for one of my votes to go to the panda!

Aw, it's a shame I only saw this now, because this is an event I would absolutely love to participate in  If you'll still allow me in even now, I think I'd be tackling Spirit of the North first, which I've been wanting to play soon anyhow. A fox as the main character should definitely count, right?

I finally got my first game done for this event: Nobody Saves the World. If you aren't familiar with it, you start the game as a literal nobody; just a naked little man who doesn't even have eyes. Then as you go you unlock different forms, some of which are animals such as a rat, horse, or turtle that you can switch between on a whim. It's a really fun and cute game and I would definitely recommend it. 

 

For my first vote, I'd like to support the Honeybee, for reasons I'm sure we all know.

Game number 3 achieved!

 

It's Maneater (PS4) it'd be fair to say that the shark is an antagonist, but that hunter is worse, I'm doing the world a favour by nibbling down his limbs one by one, like I'm trimming a homicidal holly bush. It's not a game I particularly like, it's the kind of game I play when I'm feeling stressed and wanting to have a major power fantasy, which makes me unable to enjoy the comedy that Jerry from Rick and Morty keeps voicing.

 

 

 

As for the vote, well Red Panda seems close to win with continued support, I would like my third vote to for that cute mammal to continue.

Hello all! Another game completed and this time it is Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, I won't lie with you but this felt like the weakest of the trilogy for me, the levels felt mucher shorter in places, the skateboarding felt really out of place and some parts I really did not like at all, had a lot more fun with Spyro 1 and 2, also the Plantinum not needing 100% felt odd but least it's done now.

 

I am so torn on what animal to vote for now, I love Pandas of all shapes and sizes but also want some more animals close to the top too! so.. this time my vote is for..

 

The Honey Badger! because it don't give a damn!

Humans that have animal traits in general? Humanoid animals?

Does this work for Chewbacca? I did plan on returning to the Lega Star Wars games but wondered if could work for the event.

Also does Kena: Bridge of Spirits have any animals that would work for this event? got it a while ago and thought about playing soon.

I finished Team Sonic Racing last week, and would like to use this game to vote for the tarantula. I don't get why people think they're scary, I actually think they're cute lol. Also they're surprisingly soft when holding them!

Phobias are a hell of a thing, there are phobias for all kinds of things, Spiders included, perhaps it would help if say most fantasy game didn't have them as giant killers, enemies all over the place and creepy as shit. However I respect that people like Spiders just many are scared of them, for me it's a factor of things, the many eyes, the giant fangs, the way they move and of course thier legs.

This is the truth, I’m not scared of spiders, but I am absolutely terrified of snails. People find them cute or gross at the worst, but I struggle to walk on a path with them and I’ve actually had panic attacks when I’ve found one I wasn’t expecting. Hey, I am glad it didn't need 100% or I would have never platinumed it because (bleep) the skateboarding challenges. X(

 

I have Nexomon: Extinction on the docket, as well as Legend of the Skyfish. (No, that's not going to work, the Skyfish is the main villain, so it doesn't count even though he flees when you beat him. Eh, whatever.) If I get my butt out of my mouth and away from my 3DS, I might actually work on these games.
