Game #7 down with the PS5 version of Stray. Don't know if I wanna play it again now or save the ps4 version for later.

I was really hoping to finish more games that had animals this month, but I was not able to finish Jurassic World Evo 2 or Stray in time. The only one I got that would count is Nickelodeon's All-Star Brawl.

Game #8 for me is Steam Tactics, the most boring tactics game i've ever played but all the characters in the game are anthropomorphic animal pilots. It took me a month, and i'm glad it's over.

Hi there. I completed one game yesterday. It does qualifiy.

MARVEL AVENGERS

It has Spiderman, Black Panther, Black Widow and Hawkeye has a dog in the game, you can actually pet him.

 

My vote goes for Frog. I love the frogs and they are very important and undervalued. Also look at this beauty:

I completed 2 more games this week, Stray and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom and I’ll put my 2 votes towards the Green Sea Turtle 

 

Also I’m wondering if Slime Rancher will count? They’re not really animals, but they are cute and you feed them and try to keep them happy

…During Molly’s story, you transform into a cat, then an owl, then a shark… and finally some sort of Kraken monster (an animal still, presumably!)

 

Plus, you know, her name is Edith Finch, so covering the animal base there too! ?

They're pretty mascot like, so I think they count. Is there any like hunting of the slimes or anything like that?

You catch them to keep in your ranch, but the only thing you really ‘fight’ are the tarrs, which are big black slimes that eat the other ones. By fighting, I mean you spray them with water to get rid of them. I’m not sure if I’ll get around to it or not, but it’s nice to have another game that would count

Is a game that for some reason people have completed fast, but it still does qualify for this event.

Not a hard game, but it takes time I don't know how this speed runners manage to do it that fast... Anyway. My vote is going to Frogs again.

Wait... This was enough to count? Well, hello again friends, I'm willing to exploit this since I got a free upgrade for What Remains of Edith Finch (PS5) not long ago, and the time brackets are allowed as of this post being written. 

I actually had my eye on this game for a while since I was a big fan of Giant Sparrow's previous (and referenced) game, The Unfinished Swan. And after nearly five years of waiting... I waited a little longer for a sale because I had no job and was still in school at the time, but when I finally played it, Jeez... It's brilliant, it's a story about death, with so many topics surrounding it. The game is a walking simulator (not a term of derision) but it takes so many forms, Barbara's story is a horror, and Lewis manages to combine an adventure title with a pseudo clicker game. You really should play it if you haven't already.

Finished Spiderman Miles Morales for this event finally! If you thought I would vote for a spider, ha! Think again. I stay far far away from spiders... IRL, in pictures, and in my votes! The game also has rescuing cats in the game as a mission and a surprise cat-like costume after beating the game so if a half man half spider doesn't work anymore for the event, the latter should make it count.

 

With that being said, chalk one up for team Green Turtle. Turtles are one of the very few animals I will actually approach if I see one. Just remember to always put your hand on a turtle's belly/underside if you ever pick one up as it relieves their anxiety! ❤️

Finished Stray when it came out, but nothing else yet. Should have Final Fantasy VII as well in a week or so, though, and a few others in mind after that. Sorry for the slow start, it's been too hot to want to do much gaming.

Hi all! First update for me, it's been a busy one but I'm going to put in a few votes at once. I'll explain my justification for why I think each game counts, and feel free to not award the points if there's any concern.

 

Since the event started:

First up, I completed Gorogoa! This was an extremely clever puzzle game that had puzzle solutions that really surprised and impressed me. It is a short game with a speedrun trophy, so if there's concern with that, count it out - but due to the nature of the puzzles it did take me about 2 hrs or so to complete it - which I think is within the rules for this event? Why I think it counts: There's not a lot of story for this game but there is this overarching theme of there being this mystical dragon creature throughout the different areas. It seems that as the main character you collect 5 different coloured orbs as offering for this dragon as well.

 

Following that I completed Little Misfortune: no platinum but I 100%ed it so I believe it counts? To be honest, I bought this game for the artstyle, but it definitely has some distubring themes. Misfortune is a great character though. Why I think it counts: Misfortune our main character has a crush on 'Benjamin', who is a fox. She follows him throughout the game and he's one of the more significant characters as well.

 

Next I completed Destruction Allstars, but I'm thinking since the weakest connection I could make is that even though several characters have animal costumes and maybe have slightly animalistic actions, they're all still mainly human and drive cars. I don't think this counts ?

 

Finally I completed Stray! I'm sure this once needs no explanation. You're a cat! It was a pretty great game, and I'm a dog person. I'd definitely recommend it.

 

 

If I'm correct, that leaves me with 3 votes to allocate. I also see that I'm coming in just before the deadline for new animal votes! I'm going to use this opportunity to put some more Australian natives on the board, since that's where I'm from! This was tough, as there's more than 3 Australian natives that aren't currently on the voting list at all, but I've decided I'll put one vote each on:

Hello again friends, I've had a trip through my backlog, what an adventure, I feel I should let everyone know I have every single Wonderbook game. Hold your applause at my odd choice of what I spend my money on.

 

One of these games is Wonderbook: Walking with Dinosaurs, which is based on the tv series and movie of the same name. Now I've never watched that show or the movie, but I was obsessed with the sister shows by the same animation studio which for some reason specialised in ancient animals, (Impossible Pictures.) I can talk for hours about Walking with Monsters, Prehistoric Park, or Primeval, but there's no games of them so I shan't discuss them.

 

W:WWD is an AR based educational game in a similar vein to old PC games that I used to play, with many different mini games being used to tell 5 stories about 5 different dinosaur families trying to survive, my favourite being the 4.5 tonne Tarchia named Rose gets adopted by a herd of Protoceratops and befriending Fern. It's a cute game with genuinely impressively animated dinosaurs considering it's on PS3, not better than the show obviously but still good. Gameplay is... fine. You can see what would go into future SuperMassive Games titles, (yeah, this is by the Until Dawn and The Quarry people,) such as the quicktime fights like in most of their future titles and the environmental scanning that would go on to be in Hidden Agenda.

Game #9 for me is Ark: Survival Evolved. I tamed and befriended like 90 something dinosaurs and birds and a beaver.

Game #3 is in the books for me. For once I am in on a gaming trend in that I beat Stray with the worst trophy for me being Can't Cat-ch Me.

My vote this time in honour of Murtaugh the Stray cat's inspiration goes to the Black Footed Cat.

Hello again furrends... I got another Purrlatinum to add to the pool. That being Cat Quest II, an Indie RPG where you play as a royal cat and dog, it's a bunch of fun in small doses, less so if you try and complete it in one go, hence my 3 month completion time, completely opposed to those people who auto-popped as player 2.

 

The game is a game of two haves a bit like Yakuza, and by that I mean the main story of Yakuza is played totally straight and seriously, the side content though is really f***ing bizarre, and similarly this game's main story talks a bunch about the power of friendship and potential of oneself. And at the same time you'll find a town where some cats are glitching out and at the end of the quest the developers stroll up and say, "Oops, we didn't mean to leave that in the game.. It's gone now."  

It's also filled to the brim with cat puns... Now I love puns, being Me, owing a comedian some cash for sneaking into one his stand up routines, but I couldn't pay him since I was too paw. But these could be too much.
