6 - Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS5)

 

First game on the board today! That hard mode playthrough definitely had some frustrating points, but not nearly as frustrating as the pull-ups. Certain things just get to me and that was an absolute nightmare. I'm looking forward to clearing a chunk of my backlog out for this event and dip into some PS Plus+ where I need to. I'll even be starting spooky season in September to start clearing out some horror themed games. I won't be setting up a set list since I'll be picking up some new games like Cult of the Lamb and Soul Hackers 2, but I'll see how much I can get done!

 

Next up is Stray and I've already got Can't Cat-ch Me! today so it should be a very chill ride to the platinum!

Unpopular opinion but I hate the old Sonic games. Origins just confirmed it without a doubt for me. Give me a game like Sonic Unleashed and I'll be way happier. I played the old Sonic back when I was a dumb kid but I wouldn't say I liked it back then either. The main reason I bought this was because I had recently seen the second Sonic movie and wanted something classic on my trophy list, but thank god for debug mode because even just playing Sonic CD made me irrationally angry. At least they took out the panic inducing drowning music.

 

I'm thinking Uncharted Legacy Collection might be next but not sure. I looooove Uncharted so I am really looking forward to completing it but it'll be bittersweet to be done with it.

Man, Brothers: a tale of two sons got darker and sadder as i was anticipating. Really nice game with a lot of neat ideas in regards to the gameplay. Glad i finally looked into this game.

Getting close to clearing my 2, Chrono Cross. I just completed the "bad" ending and started my first Continue+ file. I really enjoyed this blast from the past, but I never finished it originally because I couldn't get the good ending due to how I kept taking so much damage, I think the 100% evasion battle boost is awesome and I'm sure the instant stamina refill will be helpful when I go for the good ending. (Following Optinoob's text guide to get me through the continue+ runs.)

 

I'm going to stop just before the final trophy(which should be the one for adding all 44 characters to your party via the Chrono Cross) to quick plat both Persian Nights games since I'm a master of Artifex Mundi games.

Game number 2 done. Played through Maneater and its DLC. Can't say I enjoyed it, the base game was mediocre at best and the DLC was awful in my opinion. At least it's banished from my backlog now I guess.

I finished my last 2 entries. The last three entries were pretty emotional and give a lot to think about. Lost words even put some tears in my eyes since it was such a good way to tell the story!

Halfway done! I got all but one trophy on Chrono Cross last night and held off so I could plat the two Artifex Mundi games so Chrono Cross was my 30th platinum. Never finished Chrono Cross when it first came out because the final boss wouldn't cooperate with me with the said namesake to get the good ending and the whole level star thing was annoying but this remaster's battle boost and random encounter disable made the game more fun to play and I enjoyed the reworked portraits for Serge and Kid.

 

Gonna break for a while and then get to work on the other games.

 

EDIT: I'll take a loonng break. They said my new house is going to get started next week and I am already 50% two weeks into the event so I should slow it down.

Finished my first game, Shadow of the Colossus (PS4). Pretty fun experience, even though Colossus 16 kicked my ass on the hard time attack.

Just finished Stray! Definitely glad I was able to access this through PS Plus. One of those games that are fun but probably never would want to pay for outright, especially with its brevity. Cute ideas at the very least, but not my personal favorite on execution. Not a bad time by any means though! Next up, Kena Bridge of Spirits, where I look forward to the PS2-era vibes the game gives off!

Last night I powered through several night races for ultimate parts, & day races for money to buy new engines to soup up the Ford F1 Raptor for jumps & the Porsche 911 RSR for speed traps. I'd been working on NFSH since signing up for the event, so I'm happy to have it done early. 

 

I'm going to play Summon Night 6 this weekend & see if I can get S ranks on my last couple of battles. Still in need of a number 1 trophy list suggestion, anything that would take under 20-30hrs, please.

This one has been a long time coming, it's something I've been chipping away (albeit very slowly) in the evenings after work when I'm not feeling so tired.  Decided to just sit down today and knock out the remaining hub collectibles I needed.  Feels good to be finished, I always think that Lego games seem like a chill time....until I play one and remember how involved the collectibles are.

Wow, what an experience!  Definitely a highlight of an easy game (80.26% rarity) that is actually an absolute banger - the visuals and the music were fantastic!
