Servers shutting down August 12, 2022 - Offline bots don't count for trophies

Recommended Posts

Kept putting this game off forever…I wanted to do Mercenaries too but if I’m gonna go for all the plats, I’ll just have to stick with all plats on console only. I had Killzone 2 long ago, when it was newish. Killzone 3 I had most of the trophies done and pushed for the last few with a booster the night before shutdown.

Sadly, haven’t touched this game yet, so I hope I get enough time despite a job and social commitments over the next two weeks. Won’t even bother trying the co-op unless I got the MP stuff done.

Its really a shame and very uncharacteristic of Sony studios to drop last minute like this. Hopefully they extend. Everyone should reach out via social media or support call number to request an extension.

The most awful class for grind is support and insurgent with hack 1f613.png

Hacking is super easy as long as you do it with a real person and not bots. Takes less than hour if you do it this way. I can't imagine trying to do this particular one with bots 1f634.png

I did hacking with bots, its was not so bad. Use the setup found in this thread:

But then modify it so VSA only spawn as either assault or support with only knives and the E-Pulse Emitter or Tactical Echo Emitter. Then instead of jumping on the rock, just run around the VSA side of the map, the AI will throw down a ton of equipment to hack. Plus hacking that equipment also works towards their respective requirements. I had the hacking, stealing, e-pulse emitter and echo emitter done in like 3 hours or so with this method.

You learn pretty quick the spots the AI likes to place equipment, and if they weren't placing it I would just back off to the middle to give them time too.

I'm focusing on everything I need to get base game platinum (so not concerning myself with the DLC atm).

This is what I have left:

Turret Kills: 298/400
Air Support: 50/400
Revives: 150/500
Stun Blast: 100/500

Total Points: 792,000/1,000,000

I've been doing custom warzones. Currently, my best strategy is to set support to VSA only, make Helghast Scout only, then turn off all weapons apart from a support pistol and all abilities apart from the ones I'm working on. I then play Penthouse Beacon Retrieval, and I've found under the Helghast spawn point there's a lounge room that if you stand up on the ledge on the right, the bots can't come and get you with their knives. I spend my time there team killing and reviving my own team, and refreshing the turret when it times out.

Does anyone have a better strategy for farming revives and turret kills than this? Also, any tips on Air Support and Stun Blast would be much appreciated :)

I'm trying this on the map Forest, if you play as the Helghast there is a VSA spawn point over a river, they walk on a bridge straight towards you. There is a video which shows the exact location but there is a rock near this point, if you climb that one they cannot reach you and they are sitting ducks for your abilities. I think it's best to not get the beacon, your teammates stay with the character who has the beacon so they do not interfere. If you want revives just wait until after the 1000000 million points for this method, i think you can also get this naturally by standing on this rock with the beacon, turning off all weapons and let your teammates get killed by the opposing team and then reviving them, just make sure that you put the time that they stay on the floor to 5 seconds so that you have time to react.

Now just thinking about doing the stand-alone or not .. I am afraid of the jump jet and headshot bullshit.

If anybody has a method for jetpack (Death From Above - Get 250 kills with the jetpack) and headshot (Head Hunter - Get 500 headshots with any weapon) trophies for the stand-alone which are not written in the trophy guide, please share from the stand-alone, please …

Honestly the jet pack and mini gun trophies are fairly easy. I’ve been playing quick games or regular games with randoms. Ideally you want at least 3 people, and one of them to be a medic. Soon as you see a canister ready, bang it in the machine and select whichever gun you’re working on. I did mini gun first, and then moved to jet pack. This gives the whole team the same gun, so if someone else picks mini gun, you get one too. If you respawn you lose the gun, but if you die and get revived you keep the gun and get a full clip of ammo for good measure. The trick is to try and stay alive while picking kills from a distance. You can move closer to groups, but keep cover or they will wipe you out very quickly. If there’s a medic on the team then great, they can revive you if you drop, and they can drop ammo boxes for you to keep stocked up. Don’t worry if the games go long, it’s just more enemies to kill, and you’ll likely see more air support drones to kill for that trophy the longer the game goes.

For headshots try and pick marksman or the top class (I think assault?). These 2 can pick up enemy weapons. The marksman starting gun is great for popping heads, but if you see a kamarad gun on the floor pick that up, also great for headshots. Stay near or in your base on whatever map you’re in, and get the high ground. You could even use a jet pack to get up another level in places like the academy. Again, ammo boxes are your friend. Wait and see what point the enemies are attacking and then just pick them off. Once they’re in the actual point most of them stand still making it easy. Again don’t worry too much about long games, you’re not there to get them finished, you’re there primarily for kills. My last 3 games have gone 30-50mins but I’ve had 60, 90, 50 headshots in them. I try to aim for 1/2 kills as headshots.

If you’ve finished the base game dlc then you should have no issues with the standalone. I’ve not got the headshot trophy yet, but I thought the worst grind was easily the 50 wins.

Thanks for this mate!

I just watched the video and that sounds like it would make a big difference (I noticed the rock location now!).
Letting them have the spawn beacon is excellent too because it speeds up them appearing at your feet. I hadn't thought of the revive timer tip either so that's really helpful!

I'll test these out later :)

forest map. beacon capture/hold  helghast with scout and turret or revive. have yourself get the beacon and head to that rock nearby the VSA base. constantly build turret to take out enemy's as they leave the entrance. debuild the turret and place it toward the other entrance. takes some repeating but helpful if need million points.

revives same thing. it's better if use 2 consoles. have the other player get attacked (without brutal combat). should be able to revive each time. same spot on the rock.

As with Killzone 2, Killzone 3, also the Resistance series, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, Modnation Racers, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Gravity Rush 2, etc, this is unfortunate news. Then it's worse Guerilla Games unforgivably gave a short notice for Shadow Fall's closure. The short notice is actually inconsistent with the server closure announcement window for the previous Killzone titles, so I wonder why SF got the short end of the stick (especially if it's true that it's the most commercially successful Killzone title).

Unlike the other games listed, I sadly could not be there for the final days of Killzone 2 and 3's closure, so I won't make the same mistake with Shadow Fall. Can't believe the entire Killzone series will no longer have online play.

Look for the pistols only or veteran- warzones for the best chance of getting penthouse (smallest map, crates usually inside one of the main rooms or their balconies)

Play during off-hours for the best chance of getting only bots in the map.  After the first few crates, you get the hang of it and it goes faster.

Nah. There's always people on these servers. I think they were spammed too much in trophy hunters forums so each of us are going to them.

Luckily i found an empty server and no one entered in almost 3 hours. Now i got 12 boxes, it's just a matter of time from now.

I found it easier on veteran-4.  Seemed like everyone went for pistols, but vet-4 has a good chance of penthouse

Ive been making some good progress but the guide saying the entire plat is 50 hours is kinda laughable, theres absolutely no way. The weapon and ability grinds are unreal.

Edit: i guess to be fair to the guide ive been bouncing around the two dlcs as well so maybe if i -only- did base game it could be done in 50. Overall though the 100% is probably 50-100 hours of multiplayer depending on skill and partners.

So will i still be able to get the online trophies that you can get with bots after the servers shuts down?

Like can i focus on getting the trophies that you must have other players for now and do the bot trophies afterwards?

And can you get most of the trophies using bots with the two dlcs too or must you have other players for all of that?

No, trophies are disabled in offline botzone. You can do everything with bots, except for the restocking from ammo box. The bots will never use it, so you'll need another person for that

Nope. Offline botzone is a no go for trophies.

You can only progress to earn trophies when in online warzones. That's where you can add bots into the mix and boost your progression.

You'll need real players for the ressuplies tracker and the necromancer trophy in the Intercept DLC.

Darn i was hoping that i could get most of the trophies with bots even after i can only play offline.

I dont like the feeling of needing to hurry so much.

So are those two trophies you mentioned the only trophies that you need real players to get?

Feels like most of it should be easier and faster with bots.

I ain't playing the DLC, but that's what I've heard from the community.

Sorry, but you'll have to play with those pesky humans for a bit ?

But seriously, the multiplayer is pretty fun.

Wish I had tried it before, would have done this long ago, without any bot boosting.

It's the campaign I have no desire to return to.

I wish i would have done this a long time ago yea both for getting all the trophies and to play the multiplayer before its not possible to play it anymore.

I want 100% and not only the platinum so im forced to play the dlcs too.

I hope they dont take that long or are that hard to finish and that you dont need to do all of it with real players.

For the Weapons Specialist trophy, do you know what you have to do to get the x4 scope for the Scout weapons?

It says "kill 1 enemy player with the [weapon name] from cover, while zoomed with the ACOG scope."

What exactly constitutes as "cover"? As far as I know, there's no cover mechanic in this game like Gears of War? so I'd like some clarification.
