Servers shutting down August 12, 2022 - Offline bots don't count for trophies

For the Weapons Specialist trophy, do you know what you have to do to get the x4 scope for the Scout weapons?

It says "kill 1 enemy player with the [weapon name] from cover, while zoomed with the ACOG scope."

What exactly constitutes as "cover"? As far as I know, there's no cover mechanic in this game like Gears of War? so I'd like some clarification.

So the way I did it was in The Forest where everyone recommends you grind at the rock, right in that area is a white barrier wall. I just crouch on one side and aimed which caused my character to aim out of cover.

So are those two trophies you mentioned the only trophies that you need real players to get?

Short version:

  • Having real players or not does not matter, regarding the trophies.
    • The only MP trophy which needs to be boosted with another player from the basegame is the one for the supply crates.
  • The only important thing is, that you need the servers to be online for ANY KIND (!) of the MP trophies.
  • No trophies are achieved while playing in offline botzone.

Long version:

The term Botzone is used in Killzone Shadow Fall when a game is played with bots.

In fact there are two different types of Botzones

1) Online Warzone, where bots can be enabled --> This way you will get challenge progress, so you will be able to make progress for trophies.

2) Offline Botzone --> No challenge progress, which means no trophies.

This means: Yes, the game features a mode called Offline Botzone where you can play offline against bots, but when you start a Offline Botzone match you will be presented a message showing this text:

Botzone
No challenges are unlocked or statistics saved when playing Botzone
Play Now?

--> No challenges are unlocked means that you will make no progress for the ability trophies and because of this, you will not be able to get the Jack Of All Trades trophy in Offline Botzones.

  • Every ability trophy in Killzone Shadow Fall's MP mode is tied to challenges, where the challenges are unlocked due to using an ability many times.
  • This is also true for the weapon usage challenges (killing enemies with a weapon in a special way or with a special weapon attachment).

.. which will practically even make the platinum of the basegame unobtainable for fresh starters, besides the 100%.

Also read this post to maybe learn about this and more, also feel free to look at the other 11 sides of this topic.

/edit Done with MP shit, will not comment any further here. Have fun with the MP and good luck :)

Any low wall you crouch at will give you the option to aim over it from cover

i been leveling my weapon attachments in the facility map there's a nice spot to take down enemy's that go to the capture point where one has to crouch behind a pillar to count. i reccomend spawn beacon be done after million points. you can go on a rampage on the forest map taking out teammates  and it'll level up quick.

Hey Fellow Hunters,

Many of you complained (understandably) about the "get 25 online collectibles" trophy.

I also struggled really hard to get them at first, however i just collected my last 15 in less than 90 minutes and wanted to share my Method:

First, take a look at this Playlist :

It has Pictures of the Spawn locations for most of the Maps. The Videos have their flaws, unfortunately the locations are in random order, so sometimes 2 locations that are 2 meters apart are at the 2nd and 15th slot in the videos, but hey, beggars cant be choosers.

I advise you to learn one of the maps that is featured in multiple of the lobbies that have collectibles and learn the positions, sou that you can check all spots within the first miniround of each map. I also highly advise to grind the cloak ability to have the full 50 second duration so you can roam the map without having to look out for anything but the crates. I know some of the lobbies have the ability disabled, but its needed for the others anyway and it really helps a lot.

And finally (as some already mentioned) try to find an empty lobby, since it restarts the game on the same map if you leave and respawns the collectible, so you can earn one every 6 minutes.

I hope this helps and lucky hunting to everyone ;-)

For the Intercept stand alone version, the trophies for 500 headshots and destroying 50 aerial drones - I'm guessing all this needs to be done while playing the co op mode? I know I have more than 50 drones destroyed in normal multiplayer. Headshots I know I have over 600 total, not sure about a single weapon but I have some that probably have 2-300. I don't want to spend another few hours grinding that weapon if the trophy needs to be done with one of the new co op weapons. Same with air drones... don't want to grind them in MP if it turns out I need to do it in co op.

I got the 25 collectibles pretty quickly in a dead playlist official guerilla games hardcore search and destroy did not get bothered at all, I started at 11.30pm UK time. Some maps that were in the playlist were a pain to find the collectible that's why it took me abit longer, but generally you want to start at a certain time and find a dead playlist, and it should be smooth sailing and no rush fighting everybody else in getting them.

Intercept trophies can only be earned while playing the Intercept DLC or the Intercept stand-alone.

Also only headshots and aerial drone kills you get while playing Intercept DLC or the Intercept stand-alone, count for the Intercept DLC or the Intercept stand-alone.

--> Should also be obvious, because Intercept DLC is listed in a separate tab in the Killzone Shadow Fall main menu and you only get points for a login streak when you open the normal mp tab.

And before somebody asks: Aerial Drone kills, headshots, boss kills, minigun kills and jetpack kills are cumulative, so it does not matter which class you play and how many rounds of Intercept you play.

They are even cumulative when switching from Intercept DLC to the Intercept stand-alone, because the stats are tracked from server side.

Also there is no reason why somebody would like to farm so many headshots in basegame MP, because you even do not need 600 headshots for Jack of All Trades trophy challenges.

For the headshots I probably got most of those just from playing the game naturally

With "game naturally" you mean the "normal basegame multiplayer" and not "Intercept DLC or the Intercept stand-alone"?

--> Because when this is the case, all headshots from the "normal basegame multiplayer" do not count for the "Intercept DLC or the Intercept stand-alone"!

If you get 500 headshots in the "Intercept DLC or the Intercept stand-alone", you should get the trophy for this.

Hacking is super easy as long as you do it with a real person and not bots. Takes less than hour if you do it this way. I can't imagine trying to do this particular one with bots 1f634.png

I did all the Insurgent DLC in 10-12 hours against bots so I disagree.  It may be faster for the hacking skill but you arent getting much else done in that time.

Turn off all weapons, no scout, no close combat because you cant steal from brutal melee victims, disable all non hackable items.  Play as Insurgent, TDM on a small map like Penthouse and you will not only find tonnes of hackables, once you hack them they will count towards your upgrades for that item in the respective class so you are getting multiple things done at once. You can have multiple hacked items at once. Super quick and fun.  Boosting is boring imo unless you know the other person or like to talk to strangers.

-************~

Played this game alot and only boosted the resupplies because it had to be done thay way.  Most everything else was solo v bots or in MP when it was active. Was holding out for a DLC sale that never came. Last post on this game for me.  GL all with the 100%.

This is how I’m feeling too, thinking I’ll just do Mercenary on the vita unless Guerilla gives us any sort of extension.

Same. If they extend then after I finish mercenary I would go for shadow fall... otherwise is way to risky because of the time I have available to play

Decided to give it a go and started this afternoon. Gonna do all the support first, since it seems to be the biggest, most annoying one. About 200 spawns, 100 revives so far.

I’m assuming I won’t have enough time but gonna try anyway. When I boost supply crates, what counts as one? If I get someone or a 2nd ps to do it, can I drop the crate, have someone pickup stuff, shoot a couple bullets, then pickup again and keep doing that, or does it not count that way?

I can put in a few hours each day, a few extra these coming weekends. Do I have any hope?

And done! Wild ride it was. Pretty intense grind. Started on the 22nd, and finished on the 27th. Took me 40.5 hours total. Considering I was expecting at least 60 hours I think I did well.

@Geridian Thanks for the spreadsheet, it was helpful.

The forest on beacon theft is seriously night and day faster to bot farm. Stop wasting your time on penthouse if you're still grinding that, wow what a difference.

Depends on the skill you are trying to boost. Cloak, Stun Blast, Respawn, etc are much better done on Penthouse. Majority is best done on Forest though.

For supply crate just firing even 1 bullet before using it will have it count. Takes about 15-20 minutes to do with someone else.

I just finished all of it in ~40 hours. 18 of that was base game, 22 was both DLC packs. You have hope considering there is still 15 days left, but you would need to put in extra time on the weekends if you can't play much during the week.
