Can someone explain the intercept mode to me? Is it all online multiplayer or can you play and get the achievements in a bots-only mode (if there is one)?

Just had this happen in game. Found what I believe is the online collectable and yet it didnt want to break..  makes me wants to just stop now while im ahead since i still havent earned a trophy.

It honestly doesn't take that long for the online stuff. I haven't done the intercept DLC nor some of the online DLC trophies, but they're not that bad. You can do most of it solo. 

 

If you haven't touched it at all, i'd estimate it'd take around 30 hours or less for all the DLC.

Might just give up solely based on online collectibles being lame as hell. Everything else I can manage but fuck do I despise something that takes a while to find and when you do; for me on my first one i did not want to open.

DLC can be done solo but with a buddy recommended

Also, I'm pushing for Guerilla games on Twitter to reconsider extending the server closures to 3 months out. I'm hoping there is enough pushback from the fans and fellow trophy hunters that they will extend the online servers.

No bots, you can do it solo but I has to be online. Its a capturing zones mode against waves of AI helghast. You earn points from the zones and kills, assists, heals etc which you need to bank at a kind of home zone. You die and you lose them,  you keep hold of them and you accrue them faster due to multipliers. Risk reward kind of thing. Whilst it's possible solo it's incredibly slow, you just can't earn points fast enough to get through matches at any decent rate and its hard to keep hold of enough zones to keep your points total up. If everybody knows what they are doing a match can be easily done in 10mins.

Well, that's annoying. Game isn't even that old, and this is really short notice. Was planning to start it in the near future, so I'll just avoid it altogether at this point. Paid very little for the game anyway and never bought the DLC.

21 days is terrible notice, even if they aren't required to give, but have said they'd endeavour to give, 90 days.

Ahh okay that’s not as bad as I initially thought then. I’ll see if I can fit it into my “schedule” of games to be shutdown. It’s been a very unfortunate few months for upcoming server closures.

I'm very surprised that Guerilla never made a Killzone Remastered trilogy for PS4. I get that they may not be Sony's biggest studio and their focus has been on Horizon but I would like to see it happen from an outsourced dev team alongside a PS5 port of Shadow Fall and a remake of Mercenary. I know this won't happen anytime soon but it could be some easy money for them.

Guys whoever has Twitter please I request you to bombard Guerrilla with tweets that they need to give us ATLEAST a 90 day notice before they shutdown any of their servers.

 

Also Sony needs to update this crap on their official online services page on their website.....they can't just put out a random tweet and expect everyone who was ever interested in this game to somehow be informed now. This is bullshit, if they don't extend this I'm definitely skipping this game.

 

We are swamped with all the Ubi games as it is!

I'd honestly like rather see a new Killzone instead of Horizon. Sony has so many open-world games but hasn't had a 1st-party FPS in a long time.

Looking at the trophy list, it seems like very little of this will actually require playing online? It can be done almost entirely with bots except for a few trophies like 'Necromancer' in the second DLC.

Well ain't that the shit. Such short notice. All I can say now is best of luck getting 30 online collectibles DLC trophy. Since servers were quite empty before announcement now will be battle royale between trophy hunters who finds it first. Will take twice as long also.
