Finished my Halloween game before Halloween, oops. Obviously, I had too much fun with it.

I played the original at my friend's house many years back now, I really enjoyed it then, even with the clunky controls and now that they have vastly improved both the controls and graphics, it is a highly enjoyable game.

 

It is fairly short but the trophies and collectables give you a good excuse to go back and replay levels. It doesn't feel too grindy as the levels themselves are quick and easy to complete a second time around, especially after you have collected all weapons and energy vials, no checkpoints can be a little frustrating at first, but soon you won't need them as you will be sailing through the levels with ease. 

 

I've always really enjoyed games that don't hold your hand too much, you have to figure things out for yourself (or now in this age you can just google it) I need to find myself some new games to sink my time into, I have recently been enjoying playing games that aren't too hyped, they are a bit niche, I don't like to have too many expectations when I start a game, which allows me too form my own opinions and enjoy the games on my own terms, rather than feeling pressured to feel the same emotions as everyone else.

Heya guys. Hope it's been a good week.

I've completed a blind playthrough of Observer redux it's an interesting title with scifi detective horror elements but I found it a little dull. I was hoping for more agency or failing that more horror, still nice title overall. Off-list, I've been sucked into Terraria I don't know why I decided to pick this up after 5-6 years untouched but it's been really fun. This week I think I'll finish Observer using a collectable guide and look for the next short/easy plat from the games on my list. Have a nice one

Update 7

Hi everyone, time for another challenge update ?. 

 

I made great progress this week on Persona 5 Strikers, I have finished the main story, cleaned up a lot of the trophies and also spent a lot of time grinding for bond xp by running back and forth to a big statue ?. The grind took a lot of time, I think I spent about 5 hours on it and got from level 36 to level 85 before I got bored and decided to carry on with the game. I'm now at bond level 88, so just a little bit more grind to do in the post game to get to level 99, and then just a handful of trophies left for the platinum.

 

But as I'll be saving this Persona plat for a milestone, I still had around 20 trophies to earn until I reach it. So yesterday I started up Doki Doki Literature Club. This game only takes a few hours to go through a playthrough, and I'm on my third run now just for some miscellaneous clean up. Don't let the cutesy anime aesthetic fool you though, there's a lot to this game and definitely worth experiencing. If you've never played it before then a blind run is definitely recommended. I'd already seen a streamer play this on PC a while back so I kinda knew what to expect, I wish I had a complete blind run though. Never mind, it's still a really good game that is cleverly done.

Finally finished Landflix Odyssey - frustrating game, that - and have made a bit of progress in Songbird Symphony. Not a long game, so I'll probably knock it out and then go back to Forgotten Anne. Once I platinum The Binding of Isaac (not on my list) I'm going to try to make Curse of the Dead Gods my next 'play while watching things' game, so I should be able to knock it out before the event ends.

Happy Birthday, @MidnightDragon, Stray is a purrfect game for a birthday platinum from what I have seen from it.

 

I got the platinum for The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters. A korean horror game, that is a direct continuation of the first game. You play as a high school girl , who is transported in the coma, a alternate reality similar to the cage/rust dimension in the Silent Hill games but with tentacles instead of the rust. There, she is hunted by a slasher/monster version of her female teacher and got to hide to survive. The game is on the easier side but can get a bit frustrating, because the teacher spawns at random places which can lead to unavoidable damage/death but there are a lot of save points in the game so the progress loss is minimal if you save often.

Otherwise I played a little bit of Siren but got no trophy progression in it.

I also use my first swap (Ys: Origin is out and Evoland is in) because the constant crashes in the boss mode of Ys: Origin has drained me of all motivation to play it at the moment, which is a shame, because the rest of the game is really fun and addicting.

Here's my update for the week. I've only completed and make progress on Cat Quest this week. I really enjoyed this game and will play number 2 in the next challenge. I haven't made any other progress because I've been super busy with my new job and trying to figure out my day structure still. This week I do hope to be able to play a bit more. I will continue Yakuza and Sifu.

I finally got Modern Tales done after forcing myself to do it yesterday. Then I woke up at 3 AM, and unable to force myself to go back to sleep, I just ran through The Secret Order and, using cloud saves, managed to get the platinum in three and a half hours. Tried to do the same with AER, but unfortunately, I was cutting it close and only got to the second temple of three before I had to stop for gym... I'll put the rest later int he day when I get the platinum and add more games. I have two more games to add for the remainder of this event because I am sure the second will be hit off and on from Halloween to Thanksgiving and I have to do games for the Kill Your Completion event this year.

 

Also, thanks GGDee, I will relay your information to my friend about Tales of Arise when I see him in gym.

 

EDIT: @GGDee-Official, I told him what you said and he agrees that the old crew is probably the best for Tales of Arise. He really loves the game. He's not a trophy hunter, though.

I was going to just add one Artifex title to the list, but both Arcana and Abyss were spooky games and those were my go-to plats for Halloween as they are both spooky games. (Abyss even has shades of Bioshock, being set in an underwater city!) So I added them both. I wanted Persona 5 Royal to not be on a prime number, but hey, what can you do? I might as well, as I going to start the PS4 version on Halloween and then buy the PS5 version on the 3rd of November(when I get some cash from my gold daddy in Social Security ). I lost $250 on dental cleaning this month so I don't really have much money. (I blew most of it on MMO cash, pays to be smart and not spend a million Crowns on lootboxes. )

 

Anyways, I could have just not put P5R on the list and made it platinum #65, because the PS5 version seems to be a performance only update, but I do love this game and I have yet to romance the fortune teller lady and Kasumi. (I've romanced every other female party member and every teen girl option in my past platinums of this title, which shows how many times I've platinumed this game.) I thought about romancing the doctor but Alice is my favorite Persona and you can't get the Death confidant to max level early if you woo Takemi. (While Futaba is my forever Persona 5 Waifu, she's 17 so I'll gladly make Takemi my age-approp waifu as I pretty much need to have a doctor wife in real life as she could be there to keep my mom on pain meds if need be for her aging back. Yeah, I'm as old as dirt and my mom is pretty much in the tomb, but my dad, who is four years older than her, is healthy and has been working on the gaming house I will be living in hopefully next week. )

 

Okay, enough about waifus, I'm already close to 50, I don't want to be labeled a dirty old man.

 

Anyways, I am going to be platinuming these two Artifex Mundi games on Halloween so this account is unable to play any more games. Well, I should go for Persona 5 Royal as I can probably blitz it, but then I won't have anything to play on November.

Still slogging through this dreck. Got stuck on a boss and had to level up a bit to beat it so I'm updating late again. I also severely underestimated the amount of backtracking in this game. So that, plus the grinding, plus the pervy minigames, all combine to make one big tedious and unpleasant mess. Don't know if I'll finish this by next week, but I'm determined to get it done and out of my backlog for good before the end of the challenge.  Just have to find time between RE8, Stranger of Paradise, and MWII this weekend...

So I wanted to do some spooky games for Halloween, but I remembered I had Castlevania Requiem(which is not going on this list as I intend it to be my 60th platinum to avoid having Persona 5 Royal on #61) so I decided to get Dark Arcana done before gym. Unfortunately, that completely failed as I forgot how freak'n long Artifex Mundi titles take and how the Monaco games tended to screw me over. I'll finish this game when I come back from gym.

Slow going this time round as some IRL events have taken major priority over gaming. Finally managed to complete another game off my list. Beyond that all Ive really done is knock out some dlc from various games. Next up is to get back to Rise of the Tomb Raider and finally tackle those Score Attack runs and the remaining dlc.

 

 

L.A. Noire

This is another one of the 12 games I popped 1 trophy in last new years eve. Not sure why it took me so long to get to this one as I had done the 100% already once back on my x360 (over 10 years ago now) and it was a favorite of mine. Its almost embarrassing how much I had forgotten about this games story and cases. In a weird sort of way it was also fantastic as it really was like experiencing the game for the first time all over again. It will likely never happen but it would be incredible to see a sequel made in UE5 for current gen system.

So that was one of my spooky games done, two hours ago. I was too busy trying to get lights for my shelves. Also made a bad purchase. (Yes, I got Persona 5 Royal for PS5... which I can never play because it's a physical version and my PS5 is digital only. I only have $130 for food so I can't buy it again. *sigh* )

 

Anyways, I am going to stop play any games for the rest of the night. My dad is walking through the door and taking me back to that GameStop to return the game.

You can add so you have up to 25 games maximum unless you complete all those then you can add 15 more.I would just try getting some finished and before you start too many though.

 

Update time 

Finally finished Far Cry 4 .....lack of game time has meant it's taken longer than I planned .

My PS3 controller has died too meaning I'm going to swap out Ashes Cricket 2009 and go for Telling Lies which I can finish before I choose something else .
